    The Magic Man is Roger Fisher's brother Mike Fisher. Mike Fisher was the producer of their albums. Mike fishe was having a relationship with Anne Wilson the singer. Roger Fisher had a relationship with Nancy Wildon the lead Guitarist of the bang. Roger created the music that gave Heart their sound.

    Love this group!! ❤❤
    Lots of comments point out THE Magic Man for you, some confused.
    Roger Fisher's (guitar) older brother managed the band, Ann fell for him, his blue eyes. Nancy would later join the band and dated Roger Fisher-guitar.
    These girls hold a special place in my heart!! ❤
    So many options but I'd love for 1 reactor to please do "Straight On" and "Even It Out" just do it. Great songs, earlier years, grittier and awesome!!
    Thank you!! ❤👍🏽

    This song is sung from the viewpoint of a young girl who is being seduced by an older man (referred to as a Magic Man), much to the chagrin of her mother, who calls and begs the girl to come home. In an interview, Ann Wilson revealed that the "Magic Man" was her then boyfriend, band manager Michael Fisher, and that part of the song was an autobiographical tale of the beginnings of their relationship.

  • @jzander2966
    @jzander2966 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    The Magic Man who Ann refers to in this song was her then-boyfriend and band manager Michael (Mike) Fisher. Since you like Heart, let's move you just a couple of years forward and you can rock out to Heart's 'Bebe Le Strange.' This one is a banger! It is from their 5th album of the same name released in 1980. A second rocker off this album is 'Even It Up.' There is still a lot of Heart material to look forward to!

    They put the hammer down on the slow pounding menace of their hit song, STRAIGHT ON. It comes at you in a steady stomp and leaves you in its tracks. And you should absolutely listen to EVEN IT UP. The song lists the lengths of how one person can give and give and give and get less and less in return. Ann's powerful vocal has had enough of this one-sided nonsense and finally tells him off !! This one's for all the people fed up with the entitled, arrogant lovers who don't appreciate the effort it takes to be with someone whose narcissistic needs mean more than you do.

So, so disappointed that somehow, inexplicably, your were persuaded to listen to the live version of Heart's Magic Man instead of the vastly superior original studio recording. I saw these gal's (Heart) in Seattle in 1977 in concert. They were amazing! Anne's voice is so powerful, and Nancy's guitar and vocals are so good. Can you imagine being in the Wilson family, when these girls were like 9 or 10 years old? I'll bet those two were already standing in front of the mirror, singing and dancing with each other in the early to mid 1960s. Little did they know, what the future held for them.

    • @kennygerberich4985
      @kennygerberich4985 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's not really an issue as this is obviously directly from the sound board. And their performance is super clean, sounds better than nearly any live performance I can think of from modern times. Seems apparent people want the production quality from the studio album, which makes sense (and I agree, you really miss out on why people hype this song without hearing the studio version), but this performance really shouldn't be under sold because of that. This is an example of live version you'd actually want to point someone to if they had already heard the studio version.

Sometimes the difference between the studio version and a certain live version can really make a difference to how u judge the song. Led Zeppelin. :) I mentioned before, it's a giant whole in your rock catalogue. One of the greatest bands ever and the biggest band of the 70's. Anything from the Madison Square Garden Concert in 1973 is great but I would suggest "Since Ive' been Loving you." first. Then Stairway to Heaven, Rock and Roll, Blackdog, Whole Lotta Love and The Ocean for starters. They have many others but thats a good start. And you can marvel at how tight Robert Plants jeans are. LOL. Once you see it you will know what I mean.
