Birmingham Royal Ballet and Sleek Ballet Fitness present Ballet Bootcamp part one: barre

  • This 20-minute, continuous ballet barre workout with Sleek Technique has been inspired by our wonderful new production of Don Quixote. It is fantastic for shaping a lean, toned lower body in express time. Working fluidly and incorporating stretches whilst still building to a Bootcamp pace means you increase your heart rate, burn calories and develop stronger, lengthened muscles without any bulking.
    Birmingham Royal Ballet Principal Céline Gittens joins former BRB dancer and co-founder of sleekballetfitness.com, Victoria Marr, to take you through this ballerina-style workout that can easily be done from home. There is no equipment necessary, just grab a chair to act as a barre and start getting Sleek! This workout can be done daily. We recommend no less than three times per week.

    I just found this video. I’m an ex ballet dancer and miss this so much!!!!! I’ve been searching for real barre/ballet workouts to keep up with strength and flexibility. My body was perfect for so many years. I’m 54 now, still in good shape but need to tone. I can’t wait to start this workout!!!!!

      @Deborah, does it help you wth toning and muscle elongation? There are quite many plies, so I'm a little bit concerned it can create bulky thighs

    its been two years doing sleek and I can only say this is the best workout I have ever done and will not change it a bit of it! I love you guys you are the best ever!!!!!!

    So nice music and challenging linked moves. Love the bits of dance linked moves in between. Give a feeling of dancing along. Clear ongoing explanations most helpful as not always time to look at screen while doing the steps. Warmed up very quickly so muscles do not get tense. Thank you.

    Thank you so much for these videos! This workout was amazing, as always. I do love the instruction during the class because I used to take ballet classes growing up, but I had faulty technique instruction. So I absolutely love your videos. I truly appreciate these and I’ve told many of my friends and coworkers about them. You both are wonderful!

    I love this session but I'm wondering if I can do myself damage by using first position of the feet if I have osteoarthritis in my hips and knees? I used to have no real problems doing this before, but since diagnosis it hurts.
