Hi OkiSubies. Do you guys do work on NA cars as well? I have a 98 GC8 2.0 NA and there are not too many teardowns of those vids on TH-cam. It is not as interesting as the turbos, but still classic GC8. Or if you ever do a Turbo setup on a NA engine. Thanks for the great videos. And you don't have to cut your video lengths, the longer the better. Much love from South Africa.
Hello u guys, I love your videos so very much ❤ Can I please have some help please 🙏 I owe a 97 V4 sti, anyway the engine button end gone 🥺 I can’t see to find anything on 🤔using my v4 heads with a v7 sort block, because I can buy a brand new v7 sti sort block from the dealer 😊 Any help would be appreciated 🙏🥰🍀❤️
@ hello! Thanks for the comment! Yes you can do it! You can install v7 short block or even newer 2008+ blocks using your EJ20K heads. You just need to use a 1.2mm head gasket to keep compression the same
thanks for the video & info, i believe it was the second revision (B) grb like 2009+ that got the spec C developed N14 thicker walled block, be interesting to check if you guys ever take a head off an earlier grb motor ....
Oh interesting! First time hearing that but In this video we also talk about the walls briefly and it is pre 2009. th-cam.com/video/9pNc7Pv4gIA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7kh5_5ogvVqM3i-J
@@OkiSubies would that be different from 2.0L to 2.5L. Say I bought a roller 2016 sti In the US (ej257) and bought a v10 207, would I just reflash the ECU/ buy a v10 ecu and then it’ll work flawlessly?
@@Toaasty_ If both are V10 and up then yes it should work no problem. We have seen locals here put 2.5L’s in GRB’s that way. Dual AVCS, DBW, Turbo is what you would be looking to check. For example, If the engine setup is dual AVCS but the car you are putting it in is not dual avcs or even not an EJ platform it wouldn’t work.
Hi @OkiSubies I had imported 2017 VAB WRX STI to Europe and I have some questions. The service parts like timing belt, water pump, spark plugs are the same as global EJ257 or I need something imported from Japan? Some mechanics say it is the same but none so far had an occasion to work on that modern WRX STI here.
Hi guys love the content of the videos. I live in the Bahamas and I own a JDM Hawkeye and it's a 205. I learned alot about my car from u guys. Do guys have a working turbo laying around that's bigger than my peony TD04. U r willing to sell or giveaway. HMU.
Do you want to see more engine tear downs? What next?

Awesome video, are there any differences with the sump and oil pick up setup between v10 207 vs v10+ 257

The successor of the ej20x
Yes! I wish I would have mentioned that in the video! That would have been a great thing to mention!

Do you have any EJ207 engine on sale? Preferably version 7 or 8
Have you tried flow testing those two heads to see how much more they flow?
That would be really cool to do. Unfortunately we don’t have anything like that here where we are located though so we have not.
I presume if you’re swapping the v10+ 207 in a VAB you need the ECU
When we swap the v10 EJ207 in the GRF (Aline) we just swapped it in and re-flashed the oem ECU and didn’t have to change the ECU🙂

@@legionjackofalltrades8164 They are the same🙂
@@OkiSubies Great thanks!
So to confirm can you guys still get new ver 10 Ej207 short blocks through Subaru? Do you happen to have a part number?
That is correct 🙂
