Hey could you do video on the twin turbo legacy. I have 1 but the information is limited on those
is it the same process to merge a GD? example 2005 impreza to 2005 wrx
Great job! Does rolling fenders make wider tires legal?
@@rjreed2095 Great question! It can yes, the local inspections go off of how much the wheels stick out so rolling fenders help but you have to be careful not to pull them too much because they check that also
Many times, over the years. But the last car I did was my Spec C. Of course my Spec C also plastic fender along with the metal fenders. 😅
How did you guys like this detailed video on rolling your fenders? Have you guys tried it yourself?
Very cool! The Blitzen, along with the S401, is my dream Subaru. 🚗💨😎
What about idle surge with no engine light coming on with 60k miles on a 2016 Impreza with FB20 non turbo engine ?
@@hanglooserecluse unfortunately we don’t have much experience with those. Aren’t they DBW?
@ thanks for the reply, I’m not sure what DBW means? It’s a non turbo 2.0 litre stock Impreza (Australian model). It’s gong into mechanic tomorrow. I’ve changed plugs etc. I also changed the post cat o2 sensor as an oil drip was leaking onto the censor which ruined the censor. 3 months later, the oil drip is still there and I noticed yesterday, that the rich fuel smell is back, no fault codes are being thrown yet, but they will. I am predicting another ruined o2 sensor because oil runs down the cable of the sensor and gets onto the sensor. I might have to use a cable tie to try and make the oil divert and not run onto the sensor. Hopefully the oil leak is just from the valve seal gaskets and not the known issue with the cam carrier gasket. Anyway, money money money. Is all it’s gonna take. The car is onky used on shirt trips as my wife works close to home. It’s almost 9 years old but onky has 60k miles on it (107,000km). It’s never thrashed, has had regular oil changes. Anyway, that’s cars. Hopefully my mechanic will sort all the faults. Thanks again for your reply Edit : I just worked out DBW = Drive By Wire. Yes…. And I’ve cleaned the MaF and Map sensor, cleaned the butterfly things on the intake. I was going to buy a can of the Subaru upper engine cleaner but just yesterday I noticed the rich smell of fuel so I’m thinking the oil build up on the o2 sensor has killed the o2 sensor again
Wow, that looks like it is about to be very fun! I had the honour of driving an SG9 with fully forged and built motor & no exhaust a few miles away for a tune. Did not even get into boost until we ran it in, the set up is off a STI hatch that was highly modified that is soon to be reincarnated after seeing this. Time to see what all the boost doe's soon, for sure!!! 😅

I’ve always wanted a forester like this!
@@tommykun1990 They are really good platforms! In Japan everything is 2L so the 2.5L is a pleasant experience for sure!
I’m doing a 2.35 destroked right now but I’m not sure which would be right for mine what hp # are you trying to get I don’t really have a # I’m just wanting to rev higher.
@@Yotakong We were also contemplating doing the 2.35 destroker, maybe one day we will try it out lol. We got our internals balanced so we can do 9,000rpms but the G30-770 wasn’t big enough to be advantageous to push past 8,000rpms. We now have a G30-900 so we will see what RPM’s its happy with but if you aren’t worried about power than something like a G30-770 is a really nice choice.
@ I’m trying to get the measurements of my turbo but I know it was still pulling at 7k the turbo kicks in at about 4k so 3k rpm range isn’t great that’s why I’m doing what I’m doing. It’s getting closed decked and forged internals and springs and retainers I’m not doing other headwork because I’m not trying to get high hp I’m just trying to make the 450-500 it has reliable. I’ll probably only rev it to probably 8200 with some grace period on the top end.
@ Sounds like a fun build!
very nice build man! cool video, no drama! one video for lot of work! nice!

Great forester! Whats the specs of the wheels?
@@jacklewis776 The wheels on the video are 18x9.5j +38
@@OkiSubies Do they rub on full suspension compression? Are the fenders rolled?
@ No rubbing but the fenders are rolled yes
Needs a bigger turbo if you want to be truly competitive. What is your best quarter-mile ET and trap speed (in km/h)?
@@ericn7698 Definitely agree! We actually have the G30-900 in there as of a couple of days ago. We only got a couple of attempts before we broke a driveshaft but 60ft was 1.80. 12.06 1/4mile at 117 miles per hour. We have aftermarket rear driveshafts now so once we dial in the turbo we will see if we need a bigger turbo again😂
@@OkiSubiesSlip the clutch more to improve your 60 ft and reduce the shock load on the driveshafts.
@ Will do! We also have a DCCD transmission but we hadn’t installed the DCCD controller yet so the rears were spinning pretty aggressively. Adding a tad bit front bias in the launch will help a little.
Woohoo!! Kids get a snow day tomorrow and I get an Oki Suby vid 👌🙏

Congratulations on building a weapon of a Forester! 🚙
Thank you!! Appreciate the support! It took a while to knock it out while modifying everyone else’s cars too. 😅
We use 2.5 standard in all our builds and that is a misconception saying they don’t rev out high. We rev our drag car 10k+ and many street cars to 9k. Feel free to check our results. We hold the hp record for the EJ as a whole at 1400+whp /1100wtq done with a standard stroke EJ257 Regardless cool build, i would highly recommend a proper name brand intake manifold such as process west or Ams.

Please make a video of it at the track. What solution are you going to tune this on?
@@michaelkazi We originally tuned the OEM ECU using DimeMod but we will be switching up to a Haltech soon.
@@OkiSubies DimeMod is pretty capable for the price. I have used it myself on my facelift JDM SG9 STi for likely the same reason as you - the early 32-bit ECU in the car isn’t supported by Open Source tuning software.
can we make the Forester the fastest JDM Subaru?! Stay tuned!!!
I have a complete donor turbo SF5 for the swap on my auto turbo SF5. Will the transferring the ECU from the manual donor to the auto make wiring easier?
@@Mr44nico44 absolutely! Way more work but that is a great way to do it. Just make sure it is the same year though. Some came with the ej20k style engine and some the ej207 depending on year but the vin plate always says ej205 so it can be easy to assume it is the same. If the coil pack is in the same location you will be fine
Need as much info as I can get as I am gonna be doing a similar build but with a 2009 forester
@@islandlifevlogs5957 let me know if you have any questions!
@ I will for sure .. my main issue is the availability of parts here in Saint Lucia and the cost to get them from Japan or the US so I’ve turned to the UK market to source the gearbox as I am moving from an automatic set up to a manual .. a friend suggested using the Subaru diesel six speed gearbox but am not sure how well it will mount up to the EZ30 and the ratios seem to be a bit high .. the boxes are cheap tho am talking literally £350 .. Hey thank you very much for making this video. I've had this issue for about a year and been chasing it in all the same ways that you guys were. I'm going to try unplugging my O2 sensor tomorrow to see if it solves mine too. My car's rpm doesn't waver at all when revving with no load but I do feel it softly when cruising. WOT and under boost is great though. I'll report back if the sensor is the answer for mine too. It's a 98 STI Type RA EJ20K
@@brodytaylor6632 you already try the maf? Let us know!
@@OkiSubies I've had the issue for so long that I can't remember if I tried the MAF. I think I did. When I drove it today with the O2 unplugged it did seem to be smoother. I'll try it again but with the MAF unplugged and report back. Oh and with you guys being in Japan, would you happen to know which NTK part numbers I'd need for my O2 sensors if that is the culprit? Thanks!
@ It would probably run worse without the maf sensor plugged in. For the O2 sensor it should be DENSO 22690-AA320
This week I removed the O2 sensor but the threads from the bung decided to come out too. So had to learn how to install a helicoil. In the end I installed an NGK 24520 as the part number listed above was unavailable as well as the Bosch replacement. Took it for a drive and she's nice and smooth again with lots of power.
