cool to see US aftermarket stuff going into a JDM. i went to okinawa last year for the first time, i definitely loved the vibe there compared to mainland japan. cheers from san diego, ca
We use 2.5 standard in all our builds and that is a misconception saying they don’t rev out high. We rev our drag car 10k+ and many street cars to 9k. Feel free to check our results. We hold the hp record for the EJ as a whole at 1400+whp /1100wtq done with a standard stroke EJ257 Regardless cool build, i would highly recommend a proper name brand intake manifold such as process west or Ams.
@@BaderBuiltRacing!!! Haha We pay very close attention to your page man! Love the quality work you do. Ironically we actually reached out to you about e tuning this car for us but unfortunately there isn’t a COBB AP setup for these. Appreciate your input!!!
@@ericn7698 Definitely agree! We actually have the G30-900 in there as of a couple of days ago. We only got a couple of attempts before we broke a driveshaft but 60ft was 1.80. 12.06 1/4mile at 117 miles per hour. We have aftermarket rear driveshafts now so once we dial in the turbo we will see if we need a bigger turbo again😂
@ Will do! We also have a DCCD transmission but we hadn’t installed the DCCD controller yet so the rears were spinning pretty aggressively. Adding a tad bit front bias in the launch will help a little.
@@OkiSubies DimeMod is pretty capable for the price. I have used it myself on my facelift JDM SG9 STi for likely the same reason as you - the early 32-bit ECU in the car isn’t supported by Open Source tuning software.
@@benjaminphantomhive unfortunately we don’t have a dyno where we are so unless we send the car to mainland Japan we won’t be able to but that is something we eventually will do. And yes absolutely! I have the closed deck block and heads back from Outfront so building that engine is next!
I’m doing a 2.35 destroked right now but I’m not sure which would be right for mine what hp # are you trying to get I don’t really have a # I’m just wanting to rev higher.
@@Yotakong We were also contemplating doing the 2.35 destroker, maybe one day we will try it out lol. We got our internals balanced so we can do 9,000rpms but the G30-770 wasn’t big enough to be advantageous to push past 8,000rpms. We now have a G30-900 so we will see what RPM’s its happy with but if you aren’t worried about power than something like a G30-770 is a really nice choice.
@ I’m trying to get the measurements of my turbo but I know it was still pulling at 7k the turbo kicks in at about 4k so 3k rpm range isn’t great that’s why I’m doing what I’m doing. It’s getting closed decked and forged internals and springs and retainers I’m not doing other headwork because I’m not trying to get high hp I’m just trying to make the 450-500 it has reliable. I’ll probably only rev it to probably 8200 with some grace period on the top end.
can we make the Forester the fastest JDM Subaru?! Stay tuned!!!

Needs a bigger turbo if you want to be truly competitive. What is your best quarter-mile ET and trap speed (in km/h)?
