@MyGolfDNA Chris - Not to dissect the atom here, at 7:44 you stated "...if you can get the position where you have your center of mass in front of the golf ball...". Can you please clarify that comment? I've always fought the understanding of where my body need to be at impact, so I'm just curious to learn where the center of mass is located on my body? I would assume somewhere at or near the hips?
Exactly. We don’t focus on ALL of the key points in the swing. Just 1-2 things that students can learn from weekly. If we focused on all of the keys and how they tie hands with one another, the video would be 50 mins long and we know that doesn’t work for the golfing community.
Love your vids. Just wondering if you can make one regarding impact. After 35 years of playing golf, I'm still unsure if you're supposed to hit down on the ball. Does it vary by club too? Wedges yeah sure hit down to get the ball up but how'bout long irons or hybrids?
Thank you! We have a lot of videos on this topic on the channel BUT we can certainly do some updated versions. It’s an important topic that a lot of people need to learn about. Stay tuned and thank you for the support.
DJI wireless mics most of the time. I switch back and forth between the sennheiser g4 and DJI. The sennheisers quality is superior but the convenience factor of the DJI mics is why I end up using em nearly full time.
Isn't the golf swing just a throwing action. In order to get a whip effect your upper body need to go in reverse as opposed to to arms and club. You would not throw a ball going forward. So it's like also taking a towel and creating a snap. You pull that back after you throw the towel forward. Easier said than done.
Actually you do throw a ball "going forward." You're entire body is going forward while your arm is winding up and creating the "whip" effect. Same thing throwing a punch, body is going forward while you are winding up. Try to throw a pitch falling backwards, see how that works out for you.
CHRIS,,,,,,If you do not keep the right shoulder back which keeps center anchored, and you let right shoulder come forward and around,,,,,,,wont this also cause a Reverse Pivot
Reverse pivot will happen when the pelvis slides too much laterally away from the target while t trying to hold the head still. This will cause the spine to lean towards the target and put the back under a great deal of stress. The right shoulder should get pulled around into impact by the legs and hips in the downward half. Hope that helps.
@@MyGolfDNA WHAT about those teachers that advocate moving the belt buckle over the right foot instep on the backswing then back over the left foot instep on the downswing,,,,,,more power can be generated that way but you better take your time from the top and shift left,,,,,,maybe more problematic ??? Many tour pros move that belt buckle / navel to the right varying degrees for power then move it back left,,,,,,,,your thoughts
I advocate horizontal movement in the swing all day. How much is very player dependent. We will turn and shift the center of mass in behind the ball a bit in the backswing and center of mass will move a great deal in front of the ball in transition.
She has a huge separation of upper torso from lower torso creating tilt, this cannot be taught in a video, it requires exercise and stretching , all professional swing golfers have this ability the data evidence is 100% clear. MANY PEOPLE have not developed this or not gifted with the flexibility or mobility.
Mobility is certainly a factor BUT most people can rotate and separate just fine, IF they move from the correct areas of the body AND in the correct order. I work with students daily that never thought they could move properly and it's fun to watch them evolve as golfers. I appreciate the edit of the comment and toning it back a bit. I'm here to help educate students of the game not to create ruckus. Have a great rest of your day.
@@MyGolfDNA One thing I notice about myself is: if I start down just a little bit too soon before I start my weight shift it hampers my follow through which is rotation. I feel that it happens as I have used up my rotational energy too soo and I have lost momentum, there is nothing left to carry my swing on through. Every thing in the golf swing is in microseconds lol.

Generally speaking...its located just below the belly button on males and a fraction lower for females.
@@MyGolfDNA Thanks! Ironically, you identified this on the video you released 20 minutes ago. 🤣🙃✌
Always happy to help:)
Good advice Chris. Shoulder drop is golden.
Golden!!!
Great video! Detailed but to the point.
Glad you liked it. More to come.
Great lesson. Well analysed.
Thank you kindly!
Good observation. But that is just one of key points within a good swing 😅

Fantastic analysis
Thank you so much Thomas. I very much appreciate the support.

what mike to you use,
sorry mic, but you probably figured that out

Lydia Ko is awesome!!
I agree!!!

Every physical force is generated by opposote reaction.
But, but - how does one do that, what does it feel like, drills ??
Stay tuned later this week ;)
