Hi there, I liked your drill.👍 As well as how you executed the demo. Thank you very much for sharing your inside knowledge. For free!! I definitely test the drill in my winter training. 🙏
I have only recently discovered your TH-cam channel but I have watched quite a few videos already, they are so informative and I have learned so much about specific areas in the my golf swing to work on moving forward, thanks.
Thanks for this lesson as I’m looking forward to applying on the driving range tomorrow. Now I’m going to go back and see if you offered any lessons on working the ball as in fade/draw.
Fantastic lesson!! This has been an issue for me for so long! Love how you explain the importance/significance of both down & forward trail shoulder movement. (Extra insight: I've been working on getting better right knee movement in the downswing. But this video helps me realize that even if I improve my knee movement, I don't necessarily do this shoulder movement well. However, if I concentrate on moving the right shoulder as you teach, the right KNEE pretty much automaticallly moves better as well). This video fixes multiple issues at once! Thank you very much!
@@CogornoGolf To other viewers: I also want to recommend Eric's video from about 1 month ago: "This Drill Made Me Turn Pro | The Best Ball Striking Tip I've Ever Received." I think these two videos pair extremely well together - kind of two different ways to get a very similar body motion. Thanks Eric!
Trail knee, hip and shoulder should arrive at the ball the same time as the club. Align the he three at impact and your good. Great instructional video!
This video, combined with your driver video where you use the range bucket and the alignment stick have completely changed my golf game. Very similar feel with both videos. Excellent, excellent stuff. thank you!
@@twigs9070 to me this video just kind of reinforces the same feels as that driver video. Right shoulder down and through while keeping my head back and feeling that right side bend. I’ve kind of applied that feel to every club. Game changer for me so far.
as usual super video! one ?….this was a topic of discussion with friends….does the leading hip making the push back and up or is it the trailing hip pushing down and forward ?? or is a mote ? either swing thought works
Hey Martin! I think this will answer that for you th-cam.com/video/ogMMwV3PZ7U/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUZRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIGhpcHMgbWFsYXNrYQ%3D%3D th-cam.com/video/PvljLtLumT8/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUZRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIGhpcHMgbWFsYXNrYQ%3D%3D It starts from the ground up Left foot pushes down and forward away from you early in downswing.....that pushes the lead hip up, back and around. The trail foot pushing into the ground gets the trail hip forward Always ground up
Hi. Great information!! I have an old rugby injury and have a titanium bolt in my right shoulder to stop it dislocating. I have complete free movement but my right shoulder is now an inch or so shorter than my left side. Do you think that geometrical anomoly requires a "match-up" with my shoulder movement in my swing? BTW Right-hander 14hcp.
Hey Colin! Perhaps....I dont feel comfortable giving you a specific answer there without seeing your swing/knowing more. I would get with a great coach in person or online that can SEE and help guide you through that. Could be a simple adjustment. If you dont sort it out send swings to www.cogornogolf.com we can help there
The key, for me, is to make sure I do a complete wide backswing, absolutely in balance....and then it naturally allows me to bring the club inside properly, get proper shoulder rotation...and so on.
11:50, still trying to visualize that. Could be the eureka moment for me. I have slight pushes and hooks with the longer clubs. It's coming though, back to a plus handicap shortly!
Eric looking for a video that will prevent the right shoulder (right hand golfer) coming round too soon causing massive mishits have you got one in your library?
@@CogornoGolf Once again fantastic. It is incredible that the YT instructors are willing and happy to spend their own time responding to hackers like me. This channel is outstanding.
This concept is absolute magic but bear in mind it involves considerable right side bend to achieve it at what is the fastest part of the swing. For us oldies this is quite punishing on the back so don't overdo it at the start.
Moves from the other parts.....BUT if you have trouble there you absolutely can (maybe SHOULD) think about that part specifically......everything effects everything and you can use multiple parts to influence/make other things happen Good one on right knee details here: th-cam.com/video/KxvJmqqBwTY/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUWRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIHJpZ2h0IGxlZw%3D%3D
You got it Brian! I'd recommend you checking out this video to start! But yes, dropping the foot back would certainly help you swing more from the inside👍 th-cam.com/video/YQYqfXKfKY4/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
Don't know of Eric will read this, but I'd like to highlight something Eric does that I do and Adam Scott doesn't. After follow through, Eric's left toes are in the air, so weight on left heel. Adam Scott's toes are planted. I also check Fred couples and same, there's something in this I think.
Hey! For sure----I'm totally OK with that and you will see that in lots of players----more on left foot details here: th-cam.com/video/wKNX_7tkN5o/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUWRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIGxlZnQgZm9vdA%3D%3D
It means you're not Adam Scott. A lot of micro movements in the swing. Some work and some don't. Adam has made his way work. Fred has made his way work.
Glad to hear that Mary! Chunking could be from several things.... Your weight is getting off your back foot and to your lead side 2. Your body is turning enough 3. Your arms aren't fully extending until past the ball hope those help!
Head/shoulder a bit more back with driver......I talk about that specifically here: th-cam.com/video/zqoxhAatv1U/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUYRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIGlyb24gZHJpdmVy
IMHO ... what is this focus on the right shoulder? It's either gonna be there, or it's not. And that result is gonna happen based on other things that happen, or do not happen, first. Don't give me some false focus point to think about. If I start thinking about where the right shoulder is, I am toast.
@cagornogolf this is pure gold - thank you for putting the time into creating detailed instructions. Bravo!!
Thanks! Hope it serves you well!
So nice of you to offer these free video lessons especially since they are so clear, concise, thorough, and helpful.
Glad the videos are helping Matt!👊

This is probably the single best tutorial on how to correctly strike the golf ball. No coincidence that Eric uses Adam Scott as his model. 5 STARS!

Hell yeah love to hear it!!
The Mac O Grady video Coaching Shoulder Plane is an excellent video explaining the shoulder move out then down then vertically forward.
Love it! All of us have gotten a lot of great stuff from Mac
U said in this video pushes and hook work shoulder forward (enough down ) does this also apply off the tee.....thanks for all you do
Thanks Martin! Yes that would apply for tee shots as well!
You're the man! Wosh i had you as my coach
Appreciate your support, James! Would love to work together on CogornoGolf.com👊
For me, this is such a key component for making solid contact with the ball....with all clubs. When I cut it short at all, I thin or top the ball.
100% agreed Joe!

Head back shoulder down…gotta flare the feet when you’re older
Yes!!
But the top of the swing has shoulders closed to target line and this drill with club across the chest has shoulders square to target line .
Hey! This drill is all about the downswing/follow through....not using for backswing at all.
Best!
very close to the Jim Venetos swing!
Jargon jumbleweed
Agreed!
I have been working with a PGA pro for a month and he keeps telling me quiet ear is a must . Keep head quiet .
All good if thats what you need!
Trail knee must go down the line not at the ball. Knees kiss…?
Thats right!
