This guy seems to genuinely want to help people. He's so sincere in what he is saying. It feels so different from other instruction videos where people are trying to sell something or just pumping out content. I'm going to have to watch and listen a few times if I am going to try this. The sincerity flows out of this video.
The best piece of instruction I have ever seen! I could never figure out why on some days I hit my 7 iron 170 and some 154... That feeling of "speed" the bottom. Wow! I think I was too focused on what my body does and trying to hit positions. This clears things up A LOT. I can really feel what you're talking about - the throw is the game changer. You are at the TOP of your field as an instructor. Great job!

Great drill. I see the PlaneSwing in the background of some of your videos. If I have access to a Planeswing where I practice, would this drill be a good drill to practice on the PlaneSwing?
Chris ,do you know what, you have absolutely bang on on relax wrist ,to me it is one of the important techniques need to master, took me years to understand this, self taught by the way, but since you came along, great .. will try out. Not seen TH-cam golf trainers talk specifically about this, you are the first , the key to effortless swing, lots to talk about it but this is the best to me, kind of aha thingy
It's a very important skill set that I've seen way too many students neglect. Thanks for the comment and the kind words. Let me know if you need any help or have any questions along the way.
Ghris great vid... I am relaxed however my left arm pulls in... does not extend easily... is this because the trail side is not going far enough or ??? my release has always been a bit flippy. I know about relaxed hands and wrists ( previously a drummer ) Is is not enough reps ?? Thanks // Jim
If your left arm is pulling in then I’d check to make sure the wrist/forearm is continuing to rotate while the upper body stays back and the shoulder plane steepens a touch post impact. I’d also make sure the lead elbow turns in towards the rib cage after contact. Train the left arm to function properly on its own through impact and then get the trail side to follow along with those movements. If that doesn’t help, I’d need to see the swings to see the exact issue to help you. Let me know either way:)
The reverse engineering was extremely helpful. When you do the regular swing, it looks like the wrist are not as hinged as they were the smaller swings.....chest height to chest height.
Awesome! Glad you found it helpful. Yeah, in regular swings I will stay a little wider. The smaller swings you will see me hinge it more to help get the momentum going a little easier. I do need to be a little mindful of that as I don't want you guys to pick up bad habits:)
How can you compress the ball, with clubhead speed, when you have a "light" grip, and "relaxed" arms on a full swing with a 6 or 7 iron? I know l can't.

You're right about that one for sure. Thank you so very much for taking notice of something that's really important to me as an instructor!!!!
Very well done. Interesting way to teach. Like it. This fall and winter, I will practice all these lessons and drills in the gym. Thank you very much.
Glad you liked the lessons and I appreciate the kind words. Now, get out there and kick some butt.

I haven’t tried it on the plane swing personally but I’ll try it out next time to see how it works and report back.
Crisp clear instructions-Awesome!!

Good lesson; lost so much swing speed with left shoulder replacement; hope this will help in some way
Glad you enjoyed it. Wishing you much success and more speed now with the new shoulder:)
Does the handle of the club go closer to your body from delivery to impact?
No. The handle will get slightly higher though.
Another great video

Sorry... wrists, not arms.
that is the secret....
