In the beginning of the game you can reload after you get coins so they respawn and get 100 coins and have a chance to get a cat suit so you can use that for the beginning of the game and then beat it with no jumps
it only works on v1.0.0 though

@James Robbins if you got lucky enough to get a cat it basically removes most of the jumps
but you jumped in the first furry bowser fight (also he is a FURRY)
You didn't need to use ground pounds after loosing the Giga Bell. You can throw the Fury Pillars (that's what I call the black spikes that fall from the sky)

Actually, on the 1.0.0 version of the game, you can collect 100 coins on fur step island and receive power ups from them (on 1.1.0 you can only obtain mushrooms). This means you can probably beat the game with 0 jumps

I’ve been waiting for someone to make a least jumps video on this game and finally it exist!! Fun Fact: You can beat the game with ONE normal jump if you allow wall jumps.
in the later versions you can get a cat bell in the demo, so you can do it in 0
There is a youtuber who managed to do this challenge with only one jump, that being the very first shine.

Hey I did this myself already, I want to see how this compares this with my run
Edit: I've finished the video, now I want to share my thoughts. For starters, I never even used 2-player mode at all for the entire run, and it seems it would have been a little easier that way. I also didn't realize you could get onto the front of the ship in the intro (I must have been going too slowly on the handrail) and took the long way around which resulted in 2 more jumps you were able to cut.
On the other hand, I discovered the trick to get the propeller box really early on, which did make a lot of shines easier, especially because you can get propeller boxes out of Crisp Climb Castle and Pipe Path Tower, giving you a busted movement option to use pretty much anywhere. It's also the way I used to get to the first giga bell, as you can propeller from the end section of scamper shores right onto it.
And one more thing regarding the fury bowser fights: you can dodge his ground pound attack by getting onto a slightly elevated platform to go above the shockwave, or baiting him to attack on the platform, then getting off it and crouching to dodge below the shockwave (my platform of choice was the first section of scamper shores which you can walk right up onto).
Even though I had already done this challenge your strategies were very different from mine so it was a very fun watch, now I feel like seeing the maximum shines i can get with 2-player mode on my side

Also the first jump can be skipped with a wall jump dive and to get on the ship you need to go to go on the left rock then walk on the ship (it looks like you can’t but you can if you walk on the yellow ring) then mario stutters and then you can fall off and dive up
@@ruben_smo I counted wall jumps as jumps in my run so that wouldn't help, 3 is still the minimum

You need only 1 jumb to reach the first shine because the Bowser Block has at the bottom a different height and so you jumb with out jumbing.
There may be a way to knock off that first jump. The various bushes and trees in the beginning do offer coins when running through and climbing them. If you gather 100 coins and get lucky enough to get a Super Bell, you could climb across the side of the ship and avoid that first jump. It’s tedious, and it requires a bit of luck, but it’s possible to knock off jump #1 with this strategy. Nathaniel Bandy brought this to mind in his no coin run.

I noticed something those flip platforms only activate on a jump they activated when Mario fully climbs up a Ledge the game counts that as a jump therefore it is a jump
If the jump button is not pressed it isn’t a jump since the player isn’t in control of that, you get a gold star for trying.
but when bowser jr ground pounds they switch so it’s not just caused by a jump lol. It’s caused by an air movement. Gold star from me too tho;)

For the first part I think it is possible to get a cat suit by rolling into the trees and getting 100 coins. You can keep reloading the file to respawn the coins in the trees

1:46, you see that stone wall you can wall jump on it with good timing, and even get on to the ship with perfect timing by rolling. Edit: You guys are all wrong, when you do a wall jump you jump, so GameChamp3,000 is WRONG, well no, because he probably thinks that doesn’t count.
Yeah, I also saw, that he never did that in many helpful situatuons, but I think, that he counts a wallJUMP also as a jump.

I know this was uploaded three days ago, as of making this, but the recently uploaded video by GameChamp3000 shows that you only need 1 jump to beat it.
No, in the comments you would find out that you don't have to jump at all.
U can skip the first 2 jumps by collecting coins at the start the saving and leaving till u get a cat bell by collecting 100 coins but u might get supermushrooms or any other power up
and how can you get 100 coins at the beginning of the game?

He actually points out he can’t get any other power up because it’s a newer version. So my “true” reply is 100% correct because HE only did it with one jump. It takes 1 jump, you can avoid the 2 firsts jumps by climbing the trees and reloading the save filé, then when you get 100 coins there is a chance of getting a cat suit and when falling of the Edge you can climb, the 2 jump you can use an laggi bowser Spike tô jump with no jumping, you can use this tô get the shine.
The jump after climbing counts as a jump since it activates the flaptrap thingys

You can fall onto Bowser Junior to use him as a mobile bounce-pad. This, in combination with the Propeller Blocks littered everywhere, makes it so almost all the shines (apart the first two) are possible jumpless.

so....through my playthrough i found out you can actually grab the pillars bowser shoots in giga cat mario and giant mario with Y. this means that...every jump during those fights is literally meaningless because the pillars do the same amount of damage as a groundpound no matter what. so you (if im correct) can remove another jump from that list

You can kind of control Junior by pressing R and pointing your controller in the direction you want him to go. He'll stop a bit of the way through, but it can be really helpful.

Gamechamp3000 also did a video on this, but got to only 1 jump at the start. But, he did allow all Mid-Air B-Press abilities, like Wall Jumps, Cat Jumps. etc.

Great video! I did a challenge of beating Bowser's Fury with no X/Y presses. Beating the game is possible with 0 X presses, but the key shines and the last two cat parent shines are undoable without pressing X.
Fun fact!: there is a hint of plot at the end of the game after just completing the game (don't need 100% i think). During the credits, we see paintings presumably made by bowser junior. These paintings show when Bowser and his army comes to Lake Lapcat, and they are happy at first, with bowser being normal, but as the paintings progress it kinda shows how Bowser got angy/inky. NOt saying more because spoilers maybe and, do it yourself >:(. Plus, i have regrets...

Something you probably didn't know is that as Giga Mario (cat or not cat), you can pick up his "Fury Pillars" and Y E E T them at Bowser, negating the need for Fury Swipes or Ground Pounds.

At the beginning you can avoid the first jump by collecting coins from bushes tres and plants.
(but you’ll need to many times to reach 100 coins though)
Now you need to do "How many at shines can you collect jump-less!"
It now takes 1 jump becouse wall jumps are wall kicks you don't jump you kick yourself up and the place where you need to clime the steps there is a sipke and somehow we can run up it it is hard to get and the only jump we need to avoid is the first cat shine before we meet bowser jr and still good job for dping that you did your best and I know one day you will do a bowser's fury no jumps speedrun and get no jumps at all

You can probably skip some of the jumps by farming coins at the beginning of the game since you get a power up after every 100 coins and you can save and reload to farm coins.
It only gives mushrooms during the tutorial sadly
