I wish the blue shell from NSMB DS got on there. It has the same slide as the penguin suit but without needing ice to slide forever, it bounces you off walls while sliding, makes you invincible while sliding, and gives you invincibility to enemies while hiding stationary in your shell
The Fire Flower is pretty great, but it should be made a bit more obvious the Penguin Suit is way better. Instead of stopping at one enemy, frozen enemies phase through and can go through multiple. The slide and swim mechanics also make the Penguin Suit a direct upgrade in terms of mobility. However, the Fire Flower is more versatile, but still.
I love how the projectiles are aimed in a completely different (and more difficult) way, but kill Dry Bones, Boos, and Thwomps. Hope it returns one day.
I think that the blue shell is really good you can just zoom across a lot of the level while simultaneously defeating just about every enemy you see, it's a win-win
The giga cat bell is for me the best if your on a normal level not only you can destroy anything but also you have cat Mario's abilitys and any enemy is just instant death for them
gold leaf/bell is perfectly fine because you have the option of not getting it if you want to learn naturally. it can't make the game worse if you're the one who chooses to use it
I feel like the giga bell is criminally low. Considering it’s WAY bigger than the mega mushroom, and it can resist the black goo and fury bowser, while the superstar, and invincible bell (which scales to the invincible leaf) cannot. Mario’s practically a Lion God in this form.

The invincibility superleaf turns you into White Tanooki Mario/Kitsune Luigi, making you invincible to everything except lava and falling over, and it reverts back to normal Tanooki/Kitsune after completing that level. Meanwhile the P-Wing allows you to fly straight to the flag pole of that level without giving and power up.
Mega mushroom can be held in your inventory in new Super mario bros (DS), you have to get it from a toadhouse and then you can use it in the entire level.

There is a glitch in bowsers fury where if you use the amibo for the invincibell, right in front of the giga bell, and you can collect them both at the same time, resulting in the invincible giga bell
I personally disagree with the opinion about the white tanooki suit. I’m incredibly inexperienced at video games but recently started playing 3d world. Once you get to the end of the game it becomes really challenging, especially for people who aren’t good at video games, and the suit is incredibly helpful to get through a stage so you aren’t sitting there getting annoyed because you keep dying.

I'm surprised Metal Cap ins't in the list, It's more durable than the Super Star and White Tanooki (which can be harm by lava or poison, and Metal Cap doesn't) let Mario breath underwater, which is very valuable depending on the game, he can't swim but he can walk normally underwater, and like the Super Star, have an awesome music playing while in that form, idk if i would put it above Super Star and White Tanooki, because they improve other stuff like speed, higher jump, versatility in the case of the star that can stake with other stuff, and white tanooki can even fly, but it definetly should be top 3.

We were shocked at the rarity, and both ran into each other to see who would win. To my surprise, the Mega Mushroom kills you, even if you have a star.
I think SMW cape is the most broken powerup, if you know how to fly properly, you can basically skip 90% of the levels. OFC im omitting, the White Tanooki, but it is supposed to be an accessibility tool for kids and people unfamiliar with video games.
I still hate how SM3DL nerfed the Tanooki suit removing both flying and statue form (even if they added the second one during postgame). At first I thought ”yes, maybe flying through a whole level 3D was too much, but they could've make that after you complete the base game Tanooki Mario could've been able to become a statue without making a copy paste power up” but after seeing Cat Mario OP abilities that makes even get a gold flag too easy I would've prefer they brought back the old Tanooki Mario without being nerfed and split in two power ups. Maybe since it's my favorite power up I'm a little biased, but I think it's unfair that we can use only Nerfed Tanooki Mario in SM3DW.

The Hammer Bros suit in SMB3 is the best “normal” power up. It totally shits on the fire flower in that game.
