      @@garyhundsrucker7771 Do you know of hinges that would allow for the door to open as it currently does, while retaining the "hidden" aspect of the design as well as the ability to keep the door securely closed without exposed fasteners (also retaining the "hidden" aspect of the design)....?

      @@TanBzk maybe countersink some flat hinges with a magnet up top for holding it closed ? Would look abit cleaner i guess.. new to this sort of work so there probably is alot better ways of doing it.

    Shelves came out clean 👌🏽. Have you looked into french cleats? Another mounting option that is usually a bit easier than trying to hold a larger piece with one hand and drilling in with the other while trying to keep it all level 😅

    • @workshop_edits
      @workshop_edits 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      French cleats are great! I just wanted these flush to the wall and the method I went with kept it easy and clean if you don't have a table saw to make cleats easily. Although I suppose you could still make it flush with cleats.

    Any advice for RV cabinet hinges or struts? They open upwards.
    The spring struts I bought on Amazon gave way. The next bigger gas struts I bought, do not work! I would love to get some Blum Rotary hinges but they are very pricey. The rotary hinges however, are the most effective.

    How do you not get squeeze out when you put in the dowels? I always get some, and then it messes up the finish, because the glue makes the wood more oil resistantant

    • @Maximilian5268
      @Maximilian5268 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      He doesn't put glue on the dowel itself and doesn't over fill the hole. One thing that you could do is come back with a damp rag and wipe up the excess before it dries. After cure time, sand 80, 120 and then 180ish, this should eliminate any wood that might have absorbed some of that glue. Check out "Understanding Wood Finishing" by Bob Flexner. Get the newer one.

      I actually built a second set of these last week for our master bathroom - the simplest solution is getting a right angle drill bit attachment, but since I don't have one, I actually predrilled all of the holes before doing the assembly, that made it easy to hand screw in the hardware once assembled.
