Nice review. I look forward to your comparison between the Zero 8 and Zero 9. I would appreciate it if you could compare the ride quality, the grip (zero 8 has solid rear tire), the breaking distance and the hill climb ability. I got one of these (turbo wheel dart), one the best overall scoots out there but BE AWARE the 6 small screws that fasten the whole front assembly to the main body are simply not up to it. they screw into a 1/4'' aluminum structure inside and the small fine threaded bolts will eventually strip out the soft aluminum from all the jolting of general scooting around. I learnt this at full speed going over speed bump when the scooter literally broke in half beneath me and believe me its all over at this point. no exageration it took my sprained wrists a year to properly heal. the solution replace the small bolts with larger through bolts and nuts. eg not reliaing at all on aluminum threads.

Awesome review.. the wobble and shake on the stem when riding on clean concrete worries me as I'm interested in the zero 9 and fluid free ride Horizon..leaning more towards zero 9 because of LG battery. did the shake go away? wheel balance problem?
@jdmran, the wobble was actually due to the front tube being the wrong size for the tire. I changed the tube and that shake went away. I had the same wobble on the Dualtron Mini and deflating and working the tire to get the tube set in there better did the trick. In my experience RevRides is a better company to deal with that Fluid Free Ride, if that helps. Thanks!

this road where you turned at 16:10 (and beyond) - how does it feel riding on zero9? i mean in terms of comfort, speed, noise and general feel. does it shake a lot? did the scooter "rattle"? i have a scooter with solid 8" tires with suspensio and i know riding there wouldnt feel nice :) oh and thumbs up for your electric scooter movies. i enjoy watching them, thanks!
There aren't too many rattles on the Zero 9, my model did bottom out in the rear suspension over larger bumps. I do wish the deck was a little larger but the ride will be a big improvement over most solid tire scooters. Thanks a ton for watching!
Have a similar one to unbox and ride 9inch Wheels 500W. I wont be riding off road. Severly kills battery and wears out scooter. Ad mine is just for commute work teaching. Great video
I agree offroad is just fun, i wouldn't do it often. That should be a good use for the scooter, what model did you buy? I know the turbo dart is basically the same scooter. Thanks for watching.
hello dear surfer , please whats the max speed and how far can it goes like the max miles , and last how much time it takes to full charge it i'm confused to buy the 9 or the 10 , i really love the zero 9 but its kind of expensive i'm waiting for the price to drop ,thank you and great videos you doing
I was on the same boat as you. After many months of researched I purchased the zero 9. The reasons are, I'll take it on the train and commute 6 miles round trip. The weight and cost the major factors. I live in California and with with promotion code with $100 off is $900 with no shipping and tax. That's the best deal I can find on the net for us dealer and scooters with this performance period. Can't wait to get my in few weeks.
I did a separate video combining the hill climbing of 5 scooters including this one. I'm trying to capture hill climbing during future rides also. Thanks for the comment.
I have the Dart and I love it...I cut my e-brake to 0...I was uncomfortable with it cutting in when I got off the throttle to coast (it actually DOES kick in by itself without using the hand brake). Also, I don't have that front shimmy.
Thanks for the brake input, I'll try that. The Zero 9 ended up having a messed up tube inside that looks to have created the wobble. The rare time that getting a flat helped out! Thanks
Hi, I loved your thorough videos and I took a lot of insights about Zero9 and Zero8. I am about to buy it and I am biased for its weight and portability. I am looking also the Zero8, zoom stryder, m365pro and ninebot max (indigogo campaign). I live in Greece and I bought the es2 ninebot but after 200km I added an extra battery and the same day the scooter crashed and moro hub behaved abnormally, so I opened it and I saw the horror...cheep thin wires and everything was pretty damaged inside. So I would like to buy a better one according to build quality and suspension. I weigh 96kg and I have a lot of bump and slopes in my area. What do you believe it is the best between the four that I mentioned above???
@Apostolos Baritakis, I can't speak to the m365pro and ninebot max. Since you are a little heavier than me I'd really say you want to get the highest voltage you can afford. I'd go for 48v and with lots of bumps I'd really look at good suspension. The Zero 8 and Zoom Stryder do well on bumps, the Zero 9 does a little better though. From a power perspective I think you'd be happier on either of the two Zero models. I hope that helps, i'll do my best to get my hands on a ninebot. Thanks for the comment.
7:12 PerrrSpeeedyZoneLimit. Did you have a DAC moment? Digital To Analog Converter? That was word salad. I guess that’s better than “Toss your Salad” right kids. 14:30. Yup thats either a loose wire or loose screw. Check all connections before you head on out. 😉
@Philip Rosenthale: Thank you for this great comment. I really like the DAC moment, I do tend to have them, my brain moves faster (or slower) than my mouth quite often. Thanks again Philip!
@ES Rider, RevRides had to reroute and resolder this run of the Zero 9's wiring. You are right that it doesn't go in the slot but that is the only way to keep it from being damaged as the suspension functions. I didn't like the way it looked but it was the fix they had to go with. Thanks for the comment!
Great video....I'm in indonesia and there are limited options in my country...even though I'm watching this in 2022, would it still be a recommended scooter for a beginner (starting off slow with the proper gear n' all)? I'm 5'1" and I weigh 40-43 kg. Would really appreciate the adivce.
This reply may be too late, I would honestly not recommend this scooter as a beginner for a petite rider out of the box, but if you adjust some of the P settings I think you will be ok. The gears just cap the speed and dont change the degree of acceleration and top speed.
@TommyVR, There shouldn't be that much of a drop when fully charged. It is normal for the battery indicator to drop as its measuring voltage to determine the battery level. Some scooters drop more than others. My Zero 8 drops a bar even fully charged under full acceleration. If it goes back to normal and your range is good I'd say that's not an issue. I hope that helps.
does anyone know how to remove the speed restriction on this model. it's only legal for electric scooters to drive around 15 mph here in denmark. Do anyone have a clue on how to remove that?
@Sebastian Christensen, I am not sure how to change the programming besides the ones you can get to through the display. I'll look to see if I can figure out any other ways to change the speed limitations. I would like to be able to customize the speeds that the 3 gears are associated with. You may try changing the wheel diameter, that can often change the speed, of course then your display distance and speed will not be accurate. Thanks for commenting!
I just bought a zero 9 a couple of weeks ago. I have an issue/question.... Do you hear a light "popping" sound when you brake(both front or back), it's not the brakes themselves that make the sound. I think it's the motor(regeneration braking). If you go to settings on P11 and adjust the level to 2 or higher the popping sound occurs. When I set it to 0, the sound is gone. I was wondering if it's just my scooter or if its normal for all zero 9's. Hopefully you or someone that reads this comment can answer this for me. Thanks you!
Did you check tension on all of the bolts near the motor? It sounds to me like something is moving or the suspension is slightly compressing when the ebraking gets stronger. Could be no issue but worth contacting whom you purchased it from.
@@ElectronSurfer thank you so much for the advice! I got a hold of the the place where I bought it from and they said its normal. If anyone out there that can put their P11 setting on 3 or higher and try it to let me know that would be so appreciated!
I am, unfortunately the weather hasn't been great here lately. Also I work full time so i'm trying my best :). I'll have it posted by this weekend. Thanks for watching!
I am not sure the two are really comparable. The Dualtron's are much better from a quality perspective but you are paying for that. The Dualtron Mini is the only scooter in their lineup that compares to the Zero 9. My review of the Mini is in progress and it is more like a Zero 8 with more performance. I hope that helps!
@@ElectronSurfer definitely.. In term of the weight not to heavy 18kg.. The ride is still stable? And in term of the not so big wheel.. U feel safe to ride on the main road?
That is true, there is a trade-off between integrating wires and leaving them out for easier service down the road. I agree it could have a cleaner look. Thanks!
Did you get to the max speed without removing any limiters? And if not what parts did you remove because mine is basically locked below 30km/h with mode 3, weight 67kg, if you of course know anything about it hahah
@Markus Lipp, I did not have to do anything to get the full speed. Is yours the 2019 model? I've heard that they had to limit the speed on those in some countries, in that case there should be a menu entry to remove the speed limit. I don't have a 2019 to give you what that setting might be.
@@ElectronSurfer Yeah it probably is the 2019 model as I received it 2 days ago. The thing is I ordered it from Belgium where there's a similar law to France's, which requires limitation. Although my country doesn't have any limitations which is why I'm interested in removing the limiter
@Doctor Rennie, I agree on the weight. I don't know if you could get the performance of this scooter under 25lbs but it could be closer. The Zoom Stryder is under 25lbs but it doesn't come close to this is performance. Thanks for watching.
@@ElectronSurfer You're right. I have the Zoom Stryder Ex which is my daily commuter. I think if I was doing more off-road or longer distance then something bigger would make sense.
Does the suspension bottom out on a ride like this one? I am 85kg plus backpack, little worried it will bottom out often, making suspension rather useless. Also, is the suspension adjustable?
The suspension bottoms out for me on larger bumps only, the tires and suspension work well together. The air suspension is not adjustable, i think they are working on getting some adjustable shocks, i'm also going to measure the shock length to see if some bike shocks might fit.
Wow, the steering column wobbles alot @ 9:50 .FalconPEV posted a video on how to tighten the Zero8 steering column, not sure if its the same for the Zero9. th-cam.com/video/FDfy84cevmA/w-d-xo.html
What is your weight! It is crucial to estimate real parameters in relation to an individual person. For instance I am 1.86 tall and 120 kg weight. Są I am courious what distance is real for me. And how wast Zero 9 would be with me. And what does it mean 500W direct drive rear, Controller output makes it 600W. Sellers writes 600W engine. So it's a marketing bullshit? Or it means 600 peak? Pls explain.
I am 175lbs/80kg. I replied to your other comment about distance. On the motor, the 2018 model I reviewed had a 500 watt motor, the 2019 has a 600 watt motor. The motor rating is what they are rated for at continuous output, so not quite marketing bullshit but kinda. The actual motor output is battery volts multiplied by controller output so for the Zero 9, both years, it should be 960 watts peak. I hope that helps.
Hi! Thanks for the review! I've heard performance drops quite a lot once the battery goes under 50% charge. Does this one have the same behavior? Did you notice a drop in speed/power/acceleration once battery goes below half? Thank you!
@Maximus M, I didn't notice that as much with the Zero scooters as with others. The acceleration drops a little but top speed didn't seem to be affected for me until about 25% battery remaining. Thanks for the comment.
@xdeadcheapx928, I think most of the escooters sellers have an agreement with Affirm, I am pretty sure it is 12 months no interest. I understand on dropping the cash.
@rafalcisek. I can give you a ballpark, in my Zero 8 testing I did a range test at the max weight of 100 kg. I experienced a 5 mile decrease in range from my weight of 175 lbs. I'd expect a similar drop of roughly 25% per 50 lbs. So on the Zero 9 with 13ah battery I'd say 10 miles would be a reasonable range. It is really impossible to factor in everything, if someone is closer to your weight hopefully they will chime in.
@@ElectronSurfer I think it was reduced a bit yeah. It does say in the manual that it will reduce discharging if the voltage drops to that so it's probably normal
@@WrathChild-NZ It is normal. Basically the motor power is battery voltage times controller output. So the power has to drop as you get deeper into the battery. I notice slower acceleration and a few mph reduction in top speed after 50% battery.
Do you mean when you are pushing it or riding it. I find that right after a ride they all makes some noise while pushing it. I think it could be some built up energy in the magnets or its basically working like a walk powered regen. Thanks
That was a poorly seated from inner tube. I deflated it, squished the tire and tube around a bit, and the shaking went away. I have seen this on many scooters since.
@Ray Rivera, I think that really depends on your use of the scooter. If you have a lot of really bumpy terrain the dual air tires will be nice. I like the simplicity of the Zero 8. I am wrapping up a review of the Emove Touring, it is between the 8 and 9 cost-wise and looks like a good option.
@Noble Tenz, I think RevRides here in the US provides good service, I am not sure of Falcon in or out of the US. It is hard to find scooter companies with good customer service.
@Orange Aquatics, I didn't do a range test in gear 2 with the Zero 9. The Zero 8 was approximately 5 miles further from Gear 3 to Gear 2, i'd expect a similar difference. I"ll try to get an official gear 2 range test this week. Thank you
@Suazzz, I understand that. The trade-off is really easy of repair. The wiring that is all run inside the scooter tends to be much harder when things go wrong, I do agree that the look is much better.
@Ezduztube You are right the scooters are very similar, the Dart actually came out after the Zero. Some sellers are trying to claim that others are copies of theirs. They are both manufactured in the same factories, as are most, if not all, of the same looking scooters. So in my opinion I'd shop for after purchase support vs. which one might or might not be the original. Thanks for the comment.
@@Ezduztube I have had a good experience with RevRides, i'm not sure about Ewheels who carries the Dart. Both scooters will be much faster than the Swagger, i'd compare price vs. the battery that comes with it. I don't usually get discounts, If I do I put that in the video. I bought the Zero 8 for a small discount and was sent the Zero 9 as a demo which I had to return.

I was curious because I saw your Zero 8 v Zero 9 comparison and it sounded like you prefered the 8. Does the extra weight cancel out the extra motor/battery power?
@@davidagiel8130 I did prefer the 8, its my commuter scooter now. The weight was a factor, the proportions of the 8 feel better to me. its a bit more nimble and quicker. It did seems like the weight, maybe slight drag from two brakes, made the 8 quicker feeling and actually quicker in my testing.
@Darren, changing any tire below about 12" diameter is a real pain, the two piece front rim helps but you are right, changing the rear is a big pain. Thanks for pointing it out for people though.

@@stevenmarquez4476 I've been happy with it. It does work with Strava. I use it mostly as a backup to my camera GPS. In theory you could download the data, i've just been downloading the graph and route data it generates. Look out for discount codes, i got it for a good discount last December.
this road where you turned at 16:10 (and beyond) - how does it feel riding on zero9? i mean in terms of comfort, speed, noise and general feel. does it shake a lot? did the scooter "rattle"? i have a scooter with solid 8" tires with suspensio and i know riding there wouldnt feel nice :)
oh and thumbs up for your electric scooter movies. i enjoy watching them, thanks!
There aren't too many rattles on the Zero 9, my model did bottom out in the rear suspension over larger bumps. I do wish the deck was a little larger but the ride will be a big improvement over most solid tire scooters.
Thanks a ton for watching!
@@ElectronSurfer What do you mean by Bottled out? Did it break?
@@robhewitt5640 "bottom out" basically the suspension would compress all the way to the point where you effectively have no suspension.
Thanks for the well rounded review, appreciate it especially as I'm waiting for stock to ship (UK). Nice park you have there
@Etienne dk, Thank you, We are really lucky where I live. There are trails along the river that give you nearly 70 mile loop to ride.
Can't wait to get my in few weeks.
tbbsrr I'm planning on buying my own zero 9 however I have a hard time finding one available online. Revrun will have it in stock in July. Any tips ?
@@bunit8 I purchased mine through revrun and it gave me July 22, I'm assuming that following week it will ship.
Nice review. The only thing missing is howit behaves in slopes.
Thanks
If you can only have one scooter. Would you buy this zero 9 or dualtron mini. Would love to see vs video :)
@Tien Tran, I'll do a comparison video soon as I have a new Zero 9 on its way. I am not sure which one I would select until I ride them back to back.
Advantage of the Zero 9 is the split rims, making tire changes much easier.
@Mowcowbell, the split rims are nice. FYI, the Zero 8 does have a split front rim.
The engine sound was so cool and is fast I'm getting owh yea actually my height is almost tall but I'm going to make the handle down a little
Great review
@ChanRZ, thanks a lot!
Hi,
I loved your thorough videos and I took a lot of insights about Zero9 and Zero8.
4:08, the cable routing looks wrong, it should be in the slot of red plastic, where it is i will get damaged.
Definitely need that 10x for that awesome offroad spot
@jonnyA0112, no doubt, I don't even try it on my Zero8.
Good review! What apps do you use to record GPS telemetry and do ovarlays?
I use a combination of the imbedded app in my Sony action camera and dashware. Thanks for the comment.
Thanks for this video Electron!. Do you have some info about Zero X scooter or what is your opinion??
The 10X is the way to go out of all the zero scooters, power and range for a pretty good price.
Informative review. What is your weight btw?
I"m 175 lbs/79kg.
Do the battery show only 1 bar when reaching max speed even when fully charged? and then goes back to normal when slowing down or braking
Excellent reveiw thanks
i love zero
GREAT REVIEW

Hi thanks ever so much really enjoy your review and your delivery is second to none ,wonderful ,a standing ovation my friend, best wishes Brian.
@Thiswan2, Thank you very much for the encouraging comment, i'm glad you enjoyed the video.
does anyone know how to remove the speed restriction on this model. it's only legal for electric scooters to drive around 15 mph here in denmark.
Very good review, i am thinking of getting an e-scooter oww yeah and i love Pugs, love Chloe lol
Thanks for watching, Chloe was the best!
I would still go with dualtron x or thunder but minimotors USA sales that thing $3,000 more than Korea. Dualtron X costs $6700 for a scooter???
Hi, are you planning to post Zero8 vs Zero9 video comparison?
I am, unfortunately the weather hasn't been great here lately. Also I work full time so i'm trying my best :). I'll have it posted by this weekend. Thanks for watching!
@@ElectronSurfer thanks for effort and great reviews!
Do you know if it would be possible to switch the brakelevers so that right side would be the rear brake?
You should be able to yes, just pull off the grips and you'll have to unwrap and rewrap some of the cable management. Thanks for asking.
Is this better than dualtron..pls advice sir
I am not sure the two are really comparable. The Dualtron's are much better from a quality perspective but you are paying for that. The Dualtron Mini is the only scooter in their lineup that compares to the Zero 9. My review of the Mini is in progress and it is more like a Zero 8 with more performance. I hope that helps!
@@ElectronSurfer definitely.. In term of the weight not to heavy 18kg.. The ride is still stable? And in term of the not so big wheel.. U feel safe to ride on the main road?
@@nazrilhood582 The Mini is quite stable, the tires are the same size as the Zero 9, even with a single brake it has very good stopping power.
Thorough and great review. Seems to have a lot of wires...
I'm assuming it doesn't have bluetooth like many other scooters around. I have xiaomi m365 with bluetooth that allows to connect with an app.
@@ChannelGrowMedia mine I have no problems, what happened to yours?
@@ChannelGrowMedia I use the green sludge and never had a problem. On TH-cam theirs videos that can help you with that.
Great review. Sounds like a good scooter. I like it except for the weight. I kinda like keeping the weight to 25lbs or less for portability.

@@ElectronSurfer okay. thank you so much
Is there payment plans available for these zero e scooters? Im looking to buy one but i cant drop $1000 just like that lol

whats your weight just for reference sake?
I am 175lb/79kg.
Please, let me know real distance (city conditions) and max speed for my weight 120 kg. Can you?
@rafalcisek. I can give you a ballpark, in my Zero 8 testing I did a range test at the max weight of 100 kg. I experienced a 5 mile decrease in range from my weight of 175 lbs. I'd expect a similar drop of roughly 25% per 50 lbs. So on the Zero 9 with 13ah battery I'd say 10 miles would be a reasonable range. It is really impossible to factor in everything, if someone is closer to your weight hopefully they will chime in.
You gotta check out the zero 10x, I got one on the way. It's a little beast
Glad I found the channel, very indepth!
Anyone else have their power limited due to voltage dropping below 44v often?
@xIAMDAVEx, 44v should be about 30% battery remaining. Is the power cutting off or your power reducing?
@@ElectronSurfer I think it was reduced a bit yeah. It does say in the manual that it will reduce discharging if the voltage drops to that so it's probably normal
@@WrathChild-NZ It is normal. Basically the motor power is battery voltage times controller output. So the power has to drop as you get deeper into the battery. I notice slower acceleration and a few mph reduction in top speed after 50% battery.
@@ElectronSurfer alright cheers
What is the top speed?
Why is mine making a sound when it moves
Do you mean when you are pushing it or riding it. I find that right after a ride they all makes some noise while pushing it. I think it could be some built up energy in the magnets or its basically working like a walk powered regen. Thanks
Why is it shaking like that..??
That was a poorly seated from inner tube. I deflated it, squished the tire and tube around a bit, and the shaking went away. I have seen this on many scooters since.
@@ElectronSurfer Handy tip to know....stay safe 👍..!!
Is it worth the extra $200 over the Zero 8?
@Ray Rivera, I think that really depends on your use of the scooter. If you have a lot of really bumpy terrain the dual air tires will be nice. I like the simplicity of the Zero 8. I am wrapping up a review of the Emove Touring, it is between the 8 and 9 cost-wise and looks like a good option.
@@ElectronSurfer im leaning on the 8 for its cost and simplicity. Thank You
Bad thing about zero, upon checking some reviews online about their customer service, it’s pretty much nonexistent if a problem is to rise. 🤔
@Noble Tenz, I think RevRides here in the US provides good service, I am not sure of Falcon in or out of the US. It is hard to find scooter companies with good customer service.
What’s the range in gear 2?
@Orange Aquatics, I didn't do a range test in gear 2 with the Zero 9. The Zero 8 was approximately 5 miles further from Gear 3 to Gear 2, i'd expect a similar difference. I"ll try to get an official gear 2 range test this week. Thank you

Hello! This looks like a copy of the Dart scooter. Same design and same Led lights.🛴🛴
