Great video mate. I've just ordered my first scooter even tho I Feel a bit self conscious at 61! On the fun side I'm as excited as a 10 year old! Greetings from the UK
Comments like yours are rare, and sincerely wish you great time with the scooter! Pretty sure you will like it a lot, and quite easy to ride too. Also - be careful where you ride it in the UK - there are plenty of restrictions.
Hi Tim, can confirm that uk restrictions would mean that if you use it on the road/paths then the police will confiscate it. They sell similar models at Halfords and that's what I saw on their website. Tried one in America though and it was bloody fantastic. Enjoy yourself safely!
The Rozzers have much more important crimes to solve/deal with, than to concentrate all their efforts on catching people riding scooters. They've got to catch you first🙂anyway. Great review btw, almost made up my mind about buying one and I'm a male of 55.
Hi Tim, I understand the feeling. I'm 62 and bought an M365 last April, purely for the 3 mile commute to work. Was a bit concerned about how I would be viewed, by workmates, family, friends. An old fart out of his comfort zone trying desperately to be cool, or an innovator willing to try new and upcoming stuff. Workmates...loved it. Apart from one manager who told me to stop joyriding around the carpark (I was only riding from the smoking shed to the cycle lock up place, honest). Family....bit concerned, they know I'm daft, but supportive. Friends...same. What we, at our age, have to be aware of is...We're older now and do NOT mend as well as we did, we're not made out of rubber and springs anymore! I've been knocked off by a car, who just do NOT seem to see you even though you're a big guy in a massive hi viz jacket. Broke, BROKE not cracked, 5 ribs, 2 weeks off and £1k lost wages. Hit by a thrown rock to my head, hosp for 6 days, bleed inside skull, broken elbow, massive hip injury, still off work 5 weeks later. Not rubber and springs anymore. Helmet and elbow pads, minimum. But shit, this thing (Now got a etwow gt) is so much FUN!!! Can I ask...what scooter did you get?
Lol I got mine 4 days ago and speed unlocked it to go 30kph/18.6mph and people at red lights are always trying to race me for some reason, it is fking hilarious.
@@Agent-lw3fh Its working fine. But I’ve had to change flat tires two times, and one of the battery cells are flat. So the range is half what it used to be
I have around 710 km on mine, no flats... just city traffic - 80 kilograms loaded, gets up to 27 km/h (like really) - gets up to 18 km in ice-cold weather... (without ice, but sub-zero - in celsius)
@@TechMishka some things I know from some scooter communities. - solid tires (also the ones with holes) aren't good, not because of suspension - but because of vibration damaging battery solder points. - rear light has to be secured against water almost immediately after purchase. Lots of hot glue and a way of reinforcing the blug at the back. - tighten your screws every week if you're a 3-4 day rider of longer routes. - folding lock change every 1000 km... and that's the basic thing next to extensive care of the ball bearings...
@@PriestBonner unscrew the fender, undo the clipped plug under there, hot glue the whole area the cable is in, do shrinking tube under the cable which comes from the battery, rescrew the fender with plugging the rear light back in.
Getting ready to buy my first scooter ever at 62. I'm excited about the electric scooters. Didn't even realize they existed! Now it's just about which one...Great video, helps me to understand what maintenance is needed. Haven't had a car for years, this will be my car. It's something I can actually afford and it looks like so much fun, I can't wait. I've been recovering from agoraphobia (fear of leaving home) for many years. I believe I've gotten to the point that THIS is gonna really help me to get back out. So thanks for letting this old lady know that it is something I can easily maintain myself. Just one more new thing to learn about. That helps me stay young...learning new things.
It will certainly help you! I remember seeing a comment from a person at about the same age who said it's his best purchase ever. Fingers crossed, and let us know if we can help somehow! 🙃
I've had one of these for about 1 month now. I got rid of my car about a year ago and have solely relied on public transportation since then. This scooter has totally changed my freedom for the better! I bring it on buses, trains and can do 'the last mile' so much easier now.. I even buy groceries with it which is a total of 16 kms back and forth. Absolutely love it so far. I think I'm getting that sticker kit for mine as well.
I live in Stockholm sweden. There are bike lanes and separate bike trails all across the city, the network is great for getting around by bike. Out where I live though I need to scoot on the side of the main road but it works just fine!
I bought a M365 exactly one year ago and I really like it. Here in Los Angeles several companies used this model originally for their rental fleet. For awhile I was a Mechanic for Bird so I was able to completely take apart everything many times which helped me learn how to fix my own. All the rental companies have cut off the foldable hinge mechanism and have replaced it with a rigid collar (but it makes the pole a few inches shorter). I also bought some merchandise from Curious Joe and his products are top notch. His cover for the little hook on the rear fender is fantastic. Last week I upgraded the firmware to version 1.5.1 and it also upgraded the bluetooth modules firmware which now blocks all third party apps including M365DownG so I can't flash/downgrade the bluetooth back to ver 072. I believe you mentioned that their is a way to downgrade back which I'd love to hear about.
I have seen a tutorial about that in the M365 facebook group - and it didn't look that beautiful. www.spzshop.com/blogs/best-practices-and-tutorials-for-m365/update-xiaomi-m365-1-5-1-and-ble-0-81-be-careful-there-is-the-solution?fbclid=IwAR3S7t9Do24lJYeZQwEufjYm49DjhteGhuOwtErZMKoED_nUw6vDtHn9L2w
Thanks but the St-Link looks too risky and complicated for me. I'm just going to wait until someone decrypts the new bluetooth code (hopefully its Camilo Ruiz).
This was a great video, concise, key points, and resources to replace parts. Thanks so much. I think I'm going to buy one. Can't wait to see the PRO version video
Hi. I bought for three days ago and mine is updated with the 1.4.2. firmware. I live in Italy and if you believe me, at my second charge, I did it twice 40 km. But my weight is 59 kg. I drive in a big town making many stops, at night with the light on too. The only problem I had was on the brake ...it had a small imperfection, but I have solved it bending the disc to the opposite direction a little. Now to say I am happy is reductive!!! I would never buy the pro version because it weights 2 kg more than mine. I put also a belt so now is very comfortably portable. Fantastic!!!
Tech4All No problem, I have the solution to increase your battery autonomy and to gain more kilometres: Join a Muay thai gym and start training hard at least two hours a day....ahahahaha joke! Thanks a lot for your videos!
This was such a good video. I myself have bought one partly bacause of your video:) BTW. I have probebly watched this video like 5 times now because its so good.
Hey Herman - this of these comments that make me smile and the feeling is great. Thank you so much. I sincerely hope you will like the scooter and will make a lot of problem-free kilometers.
- Herman - does it work? I really want an electric scooter bc it would make the commute to school way easier but I don’t want to spend too much money if it’s not very effective
Big advantage of the Xiaomi M365 is the wide availability of replacement parts. Also the motor is actually capable of 500 W output but only limited to 250W by the software. Heavier riders can tweak it to optimize acceleration and speed. I'm using full solid tires without the small holes and the soft rubber material is a good compromise for ride quality and durability. For harsher riding conditions it is a very good idea to place a vibration dampening between the battery cover and the heavy battery or the soldered battery contacts are going to break for sure.I purchased the scooter in 2017 and used it for 3200km so far.
I bought Mi365 scooter three weeks ago. It's a great thing, but some thoughts about it started flowing through my head. You answered for them. Thank you!
Because of this review and his recommendation, I will be ordering any/all parts through curiousjoe.se for my son's new scooter... Thank You for the quality review! (From Prescott Valley, AZ. USA)
I seldomly write comments but I wanted to express my admiration to the content you are creating. Once you mentioned that you are from Bulgaria you really surprised me as there aren't any channels that I know of (apart form DroneSupremacy) as good as yours coming from Bulgaria. Coming from a person that watches a lot of tech channels - KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
I agree with ya. This scooter was one of the best options. I already drove 850km :D As i got a flat on my rear wheel i tried the enhanced solid tire version. People say it harmes the battery tho due to vibrations... Nethertheless, I also installed a parallel battery for range extension. Thats a great info regarding the fender holder! So, I will do another two experiments: First i will install some heatingpads for the battery so they dont loss that much capacity, Secondly, I will change my dashboard to the obviously compatible m365 pro display. :)
I'm way over 1000 km and never blew a tire. I do ride rough terrain all the time, but rear bumper felt off due to that ... so installed reinforcements. With proper technique of jumping and lifting your weight from scooter when jumping on curb or any uneven surface, you can protect the tires from the stress.
I just bought The folding mechanism joint delux version from curius joe is awesome. I bough the first option like brand new, my xiaomi have more than 200km and it fits perfectly but i take care a lot. There is different wear size. Its totally smooth and a silent ride, i love it. Is kinda rubber piece, not just a hard plastic cover. Thanks for that adress !
since you already had 200km or more maybe as of today, can you comment on the longevity of youroriginal battery? How many battery have you gone through for 200km already?
@@TechMishka Except people are dying like flies in road accidents. At this point, it's even possible they could be banned in some countries. Using a scooter instead of walking means many will travel on the car street instead of the sidewalk. Scooters may be doomed to be banned. They need the kind of strong brakes that bicycles have. Unfortunately, if you could brake that hard with a scooter you'd fly over the handle into the car/bus.
Before anything else, congratulations on your exceptional English. I am a native English speaker who lives in other countries and I admire your level of fluency in a foreign language. I appreciate the objectiveness of your review. I also appreciate you admitting to be 90kg, since e-scooter companies all seem to think we are 75kg. I am 90kg, 6ft and 60yrs. All in all an excellent video and a very useful review. "Useful" is unusual. I have a question though, if you were going to buy your first scooter tomorrow, which one would it be? And why? [of course]. Also, I live in South America and the roads are crap, did rain and dust ever cause you problems? Well done and thank you. I have subscribed.
Thanks Mark. It is rare to see these days someone sitting down and taking his time to write such a wonderful post. I have to admit that despite your positive tone about my English, there are some areas of improvement that I am working on. To your question: These days I'm testing the Turboant X7 Pro and realize how nicer it is to have bigger tires. It performs in a great way and has detachable battery, which to me is a gamechanger (prefer to keep the scooter in the garage and not to leave it charging unattended). Generally the Mi Scooter Pro 2 is also a great choice - very polished and with smooth riding. Usually - bad roads means more punctures - so you may have to eventually think about solid tires, and if that's the case - I'd think about the Mi Scooter series as there are really a lot of spare parts and mods available for them. Let's put it like that - I live in Sofia - which has pretty bad infrastructure about bikes and scooters. The Mi Scooter often goes through dusty, muddy and bumpy areas and is still fine. Guess the newer models will be even better 🙃 I hope this helps - although not a too definite response.... Guess it is about prioritizing comfort or tire size. Maybe the Ninebot Max has them both?
Thank you a lot for your video ! I never knew about this many accessories and tips. I'm waiting for my m365 pro to be delivered !!! Have a great day sir :)
Have one with already 1000km on it since April. Running as smooth as first day. No draining issues, still holding the same range speed and acceleration. 👍 Also fun to go around cities. With 70Kg it runs at 26,6km/h on flat
Excellent feedback, and very useful, thank you very much for that! May you ride many more problem-free kilometers with the same degree of enjoyment! 😉😇
I LOVE my M365 PRO. Every day, 12,9 km to go to work, and 12,9 to go home, plus often other kms for errands. Currently total of 900 km. No problems, no punctures (I keep both tires at 48-50 PSI as recommended!), only satisfaction. After abt 26 km (go to work and come back to home) I read 47-51% of residual battery charge! Consider that I use it in a busy big city. I use the car only if strictly necessary (mostly having to transport other people). M365 Pro + backpack + bike helmet = freedom in my city, even for a (not big) grocery shopping. This is not a toy. This is a serious, robust, reliable means of transport. I was happily surprised! ...too bad it is so hard on holes and manholes: I always have to check & avoid... :-(
The problem with folding mechanism is a big one and I believe that you should talk more about it and explain how to correct it. Thanks again for the nice video
Thank you for the note, Αγγελος Μπεληγιάννης. I was thinking of adding more around the mechanism, but since I didn't do that myself, I've decided to keep it away from the review. SO far my unit is rock-solid, although I ride it in Sofia, Bulgaria, where roads and bike lanes are ... special 😎
I've done over 330 miles on mine and I have made no modifications to the folding mechanism. It was "loose" out the box. I think that it is on purpose. Also I once accidentally rode mine without locking the folding mechanism and it never collapsed on me. I think that says a lot about how strong the mechanism is and that the concerns may be overblown. @@TechMishka
Very informative review! I live.in BG too! And I got the M365 Pro model for a week now. I also weight around 90 kilos. Im very happy for my first week riding it from home to work on the bycicle alleys in Varna. Cheers mate! And keep doing such great and helpfull reviews!
Thanks for sharing all that - Varna is a place with much better infrastructure for riding than it's here. Have a lot of fun - you chose the perfect time of the year! 😇🙃
I've nearly hit 1000km and have yet to experience a puncture. I've heard that a lot of people have had punctures, but despite accidentally rolling over broken glass on a few occasions, and using it on less than perfect cycle tracks, I've had no issues.
You have just been lucky so far but you will get a flat one day. I had 2 flats on my ghost and i only had it 6 months so i have a solid tire coming now.
I'm glad to finally see somebody from Bulgaria. I have had the scooter for 1 year now and replaced only the back tire with a solid one. Stock firmware and everything is doing well. Found my way around Sofia, Bulgaria, avoiding the streets when possible

The dashboard mod looks nice for the price, I think I'm getting that. I'm not gonna mount my phone on the handlebar, had a Nokia Lumia mounted to my bike few years ago with QuadLock mechanism(best there is) and it just failed due the vibration.
Another design weakness I read about is that the electric motor and the controller can't handle fast speeds down steep slope. It makes them overheat and break, so they say. I hope it's not true, but I try to apply the rear break to ease the steep descends. Thanks for the mod tips! I will definitely get some of them. I got my m365 a few days ago and this is the most comprehensive and useful video about this model I could ever find! A rare impulsive purchase for me, but I'm glad to hear that it is even better than I expected in the long term. It made my 2.5 km commute up a relatively steep incline to work pleasurable and FUN, indeed. Definitely no reason to use my car for such a short trip any more. Looking forward to meeting you on the challenging streets and bike lanes of Sofia ;) Keep up the quality content!
Thank you, Mr Nedev! Steep slopes are not an issue - at least haven't been for quite a long time, but note that I keep the regeneration setting to medium or low (just "low" lately). I am sure that the more you get used to it, the more fun you will have! Cheers to another awesome friend from .bg! 😏😎
You must apply tire sealant (slime-type, google it) to prevent any future flats and have your tires well inflated to get better performance and battery life. Do not even think about getting those solid tires, I saw a lot of negative reviews of those tires. The main issue they had is that the maximum range got much worse than it used to be. You should flash the custom firmware, too. I'd recommend you to disable KERS (automatic regeneration) entirely (yes, you heard that right), applying the Russian acceleration algorithm (you'll have to disable the cruise control, but that's not a big deal, because no KERS + Russian algorithm is a great alternative to cruise control) and to change the mode to ECO and never change it back to normal. If you want, you can also adjust the power output to 600W or 650W to make the scooter accelerate faster on ECO mode (you'll get 300W or 325W respectively). Oh, and you should also get ready to fix your rear mud flap, since it can break off fairly easily.
@@one_step_sideways Thanks for the tips! I feel reluctant messing with the firmware to be honest. I'm gonna keep it default for now. As for the tire sealant I heard it can ruin the balance of the wheels.
@@Nedev There was no visible difference after I poured tire sealant into the tubes. It won't ruin anything unless you pour too much. As for installing custom firmware, it's just a matter of a few taps. Both of these things are much easier to do compared to having to fix the tubes or installing solid tires.
Sept 2014 I had ETWOW scooter. Now called USCOOTER. I'm 6 1 225lbs 16mph no kicking 19.5 kicking 22-25 mile range. I carried the charger in my backpack & charged at ciffee shops, grocery stores & libraries etc... Charge dead to full is about 5hours (driving in my van, I had it charging) I put 500 miles in about a year (I travel and took it with me a lot). $990 scooter that substituted for a bike (average GOOD bike $400) but was so durable & fun. Rainstorm and sidewalk submerged puddles, off sidewalks, down Las Vegas Blvd with a group of 40 PEDAL bikes. Still sold it for $400 in September 2015. I'm buying the MOFO model in June. So worth the money. Fcuk Wal-Mart's $400 model...batteries & engineering cost money people!!
I remember watching this video a year ago when I was about to buy my scooter and think: I don’t need to have solid tires, I’m careful enough not to puncture. But no. They’re so extremely fragile, you almost can’t even go on gravel with rather big rocks without them breaking. I’ve bought the exact same tires as you, just because it seemed like you enjoyed them. God bless 🙏🏾❤️
Glad the review helped you! If you use higher pressure and slime - the original tires can also be fine. But for rocky roads... guess we don't have too many options, do we 😎
Really nice review! I wish it was about the Ninebot ES :) coz I own one. I think it would be more perfect if you talk about something to put it on the description, here I mean the replacement Tyre, custom firmware and so. Keep up the good work ;)
Nice 1 year review. I couldn't agree more about the solid tires, it was such (and still is) such a relief not to care anymore about running on broken glass or anything, it just make the scooter feel much more reliable. My folding mechanism broke at some point but parts are easily found online and it's now stronger. After 1867 km, the speed and range feel the same as in the beginnings so ... that's very nice :) I'm glad about this scooter too! It's a shame people don't understand how cool this kind of vehicle is (nice range for cities, easy to ride, doesn't take too much space, cheap to buy and to charge, doesn't pollute ...)
Wow, you are a hardcore rider - close to 2K kilometers! Amazing! Really glad to hear that you are so happy with the scooter. Recently I gave away the Ninebot and the Kugoo scooters and still keep the Mi Scooter. Such a lovely device!
@@TechMishka oh well i've had it for 2 years now so I didn't think it's that much but it's still reliable and sturdy. I'll watch your other videos about scooters, i'm curious to know more about these too! Thanks for answering :-))
Great video! I wanted to ask you how much steps you did before you get the scooter and now? Did it affect your health? Thanks in advance for the answer
Great video. I see how the folding piece is a concern, how about a 6inch long pipe, split long and hinged, that fits around the folding mechanism and locks in place for running...
Sounds like a good fix. I have rencently been to Barcelona and there have been a lot of scooters for renting - all of them had the folding mechanism disabled.
Are they inflatable 😇? If there are any 10-inch solids, I will give it a try; Will never ever run air-filled tires on our roads here. If we had nicer alleys and roads - would have been a different story.
I thought he was from something like the Netherlands because of his accent 😅 But he said he's based in Bulgaria. Not that he's actually from Bulgaria :P
Good review. I wondered how scooters held up over time. Where I live the roads are too fast so a scooter is not practical but I have visited cities that have rental scooters all over. They are both fun and practical. It would be great for the environment to have them in all cities, replacing most cars.
I own Segway Ninebot ES2 for a year and very happy about it, no issues yet. But the only thing I really miss is inflatable tires (ES2 has solid ones). The reason - sidewalks and roads are bumpy quite often in location where I live, and vibration from solid tires sometimes doesn't feel comfortable. Also, I'm worried that this vibration really harms the scooter. So I'm looking to buy Mijia and use it with inflated wheels :) I read feedback from some Mijia owners, and they say that with proper maintenance it's possible to avoid flat tires. They recommend to change original tires to a better quality ones and always watch pressure in the wheel, it has to stay high all the time. They also say that original tires have internal rubber defects which wear the inner tube.
Yes, my front tire initially punctured because of these defects. ANd perhaps 2 out of the 4 flat tires were caused due to bad maintenance from my side. But I don't want to be checking on the pressure all the time. and losing confidence in a piece of tech is a bad thing. Now, after the swap, I ride much more often. But the truth is that it depends on where you live. If it is a place will well maintained infrastructure - there is a minor chance to get flat tires.
I just rode mine in the rain yesterday from work to my truck. Me and my scooter were soaked but it never missed a beat. but as far as traction... it gets iffy and I have air tires front and rear.
Поздрав /Hello, regards. I have watched this video yesterday, and come back today to finish it. Like your kind of perspective. Fun and constructive. Always is a good thing to hear a good advice from person who have more experience in some way 😊👏Because of your advices, i have ordered mine.
Hey Marko, Zdravo! (hopefully that's correct) Thank you so much for the kind words, and fingers crossed you to enjoy the M365. The newer revisions are nicer than the older revisions like mine 🙃
@@TechMishka ; Yes it is correct written 😊 I will try to get as much fun as it gets. I already use budget model, Denver SCO-65210. Range is whit my 63 kg only 5,5km and not as described 12km.So i am pretty confident + your user experience, that this time i am getting "the one" that is good. One more time thank you on your advices and all the best wishes for you 👍🛴
I used to have the M365, had a punctured tire then had the folding ancre broken... replaced it for stronger one but it didnt really fit well and then I had lot of issues with the soldering point of the battery,. at the end it completely broke down so i bought a bike :p BUT after your video on the Kugoo S1...i am thinking about it :)
The Kugoo S1 in no way feels of better quality than the M365. The problem is that batteries are still too expensive. A friend of mine is going to release a chopper-like scooter - which is extremely durable (three units are being tested on a daily basis on the roads of Sofia, and the quality of roads here is not good at all). The price is however twice the M365. When he showed me all the details of his work, the origin of parts and so on - well - at the end of the day it looks like "you get what you pay for" is sort of right. Still - the M365 is so far unbeaten in terms of bang for the buck. p.s - so sorry about the experience you got. Bikes rock!
Love these mate, I’ve had mine for almost a year now, school is 5km away therefore usually use this bad boy but I live in Dubai so summer gets to up to 50 degrees Celsius but it’s been holding up. However had a massive accident where I was looking up didn’t see the parking pavement which smashed the scooter and threw me a few meters away. Thought the scooter was done, the front fork was bent like proper bent I thought the accelerator was broken and the tire was flat cause the bend. But after opening it up turns out it held up and it was just the fork interior that twisted the rest was perfectly fine. Impressed with it, however been dealing with lose handle while riding fixed it today and it was just a lose bearing position
@@TechMishka Yeah i was in shock my knees scrapped the ground which wasn't lovely. Both my knees were swollen but I was fine Thank God. Could have been worse I would have done my head cause I was literally running on 25km/h. Thanks man love the videos btw!
Oh, really good to hear that there was nothing too damaged - cause head injuries and cracked bones are much nastier option. Really hope this won't happen anymore! And thanks a lot for your kind support.
it depends on the surface you're riding on though. Today I've rented a scooter with one of the many apps you see in big cities, and at one point I was on a rough surface and I literally felt all the vibrations in my spine because the scooter has almost no dampers (or none at all I didn't check)
Hey Dan - could be, very much depending on the kind of pain that you have. I have greater back-discomfort when riding a scooter - bug again - this may be dependent on various factors.
@@TechMishka I live in the midwest where there is a lot of pot holes and cracks everywhere. I do not want a flat tire I've had that problem before. Solid tires are a must for me.
So, is the reason that the battery cover from curious joe is really good is only because it is easy to clean? Other reviewers mentioned things about the batteries not getting rattled and connections breaking.
Yes, I have seen such comments and was concerned about mine as well. But I had no issues for more than an year, and the battery seemed to be very well fitted, with no possibility to jump inside. Also - the Curious Joe plate has a bit thicker foam which seems to help too.
You can always make your own battery. The standard battery uses 2600mah cells in a 10s3p layout. If you use 3500mah cells in 10s3p, you can get 10.5ah up from 7.8ah with the same footprint....if you want to get mildly creative, you can extend the battery case cover a cm or so, switch to 10" tyres for clearance and run a 10s4p battery setup, which, with Samsung 35q batteries is 14ah. With a 10s4p 14ah battery and rider weight of 97kg, I'm getting around 25-30km distance on uneven, undulating footpath in sports mode, and up to 50km in Eco mode on flatter bike paths and even road. I'm all for range, and I'm happy to assist up steep hills.
IF battery is below 30-35%, it feels like riding in eco mode 😎👍 IF you have zero battery - then you can kick-move it, but it is a little harder than having a regular non-motorized scooter. You can use it indoors, of course.
The stock firmware is not 500W max. If you download the app M365 tool you can see or record data of your ride. Mine has peak over 600W with stock 1.4.2 firmware. Today I plan to try 800W with custom firmware. This scooter is awesome looking forward to the PRO :).
@@TechMishka Sure with stock 1.4.2. I had slightly over 600W with full charged battery. Now I tried firmware created with botox and peak is 800W. The acceleration and hill climbing is awesome now :-).

I got 2 flats in 1100km. Poured some tire sealant (it's very easy actually, and costs much less than buying new tires) and never had a flat tire since. It also helps if you have a bad tube and get flats constantly simply because it's bad. 8.5" tube tires are MUCH better than all other tire variants, especially both tubeless tires that are available. I managed to go 50km on a single charge because I used those tube tires which are lighter than other tires. My weight is about 65kg, my tires were well inflated and I ran it with my own custom firmware to maximize the range. Higher speeds don't matter. Going very fast constantly (and especially accelerating all the time) kills the battery. You can install custom firmware though and make the motor pull up to 1000W. It can actually go even faster, though pulling more than 800W can damage the engine and really kills the battery life. I'd recommend changing the max speed on ECO mode to 25km/h and (if you're too heavy) to change the power output to 600W or and never ever switch to Normal mode. What I did to maximize my battery life is disable automatic energy regeneration entirely (yes, really, constantly slowing down by regenerating and speeding up to maximum speed has a negative effect on the battery life), use a Russian acceleration algorithm (the lever will be controlling the wattage, the more you push, the more energy will be going into the motor) to have smoother acceleration (knowing the right way to accelerate in order to save some extra energy) and to have an alternative to cruise control, which also worsens the battery life, in a way. My driving experience remains the same, however, so it's not something only hypermilers that would sacrifice everything to have maximum range, no matter what. You may instead get the complete opposite, a much better driving experience. I got exactly that.
Михаил - respect! This is one of the most awesome comments I've ever read about the M365 - and it looks like you are a fan of sqeezing the maximum out of the battery. The idea about ECO mode is fantastic - I use it a lot - mostly because I find the non-eco mode too ... lazy. Just want to combine some exercise by kick-moving, and also the pelasure of feeling the wind when it gets too hot :-) DO you mind sharing your firmware build? I am quite keen on trying something different, and yours sounds like something quite fun. Unfortunately I am way heavier (around 90), but it might work well. Also - which tubeless model do you find best?
@@TechMishka I don't find any tubeless model the best. I recommend installing tube tires and using the tire sealant to make those tires indestructible. But I guess the best tubeless tires are the ones with holes, since they can theoretically absorb more vibration and are lighter. The lighter the tires are, the easier it is to spin them for the motor, thus increasing the range. Regular tube tires are the lightest. My firmware build is: Base firmware - 1.3.8 KERS speed - 40.0 Top speed Normal mode - 31 Top speed ECO mode - 26 Engine startup speed - 1.0 Constant power of the engine - 51575 (use 46886 (550W/275W) or 42979 (600W/300W) if you're heavier) Russian acceleration algorithm ON Using weak regeneration also helps. To regenerate energy while braking, you need to lightly press the brakes. If you press the brakes all the way, the motor will instead be using a different method of slowing down that involves spending energy instead of regenerating it. This method is used for emergency situations only and isn't the recommended way of braking. It also generates a ton of heat. If you're running low on juice, you can press the brakes lightly and start kick-moving while still standing on the scooter to generate some energy. If you're really low on energy, however, and don't want to charge your scooter that way, you can also leave the scooter on and start kick-moving as well. The feature that lets your scooter automatically spin the motor to match your walking speed and make dragging your scooter easier will keep spinning the motor if you turn off KERS, like I did, so it helps you to move around easier while kick-moving.
Hi what’s up with your scooter today? Thanks for your great video, done with real facts and for your tips about Escooter products, so thank you, Greetings from Geneva, Switzerland, Pascal
4 punctures in 1000km?? I'm surprised you didn't put Slime Puncture Prevented in your tyres! It really works on my m365 and bicycle - never had a puncture in years :) And I'm surprised you haven't upgraded to adding a second battery pack (8Ah li-ion batteries on AliExpress for €60) connect in parallel to existing battery to double your range! No need to spend 600€ on a pro version!! :-) Really enjoyed your review! I'll definitely buy one of those easy to clean bottom plates! :) happy scooting!
Dan, I have not seen any of these €60 packs, and now you just deployed another idea I can't stop thinking about in my head. Thanks for the awesome idea - I will definitely check them.
I guess Russian speaking since you can see in the video when he showed the firmware customization site, you see he already clicked on Russian language, and see he mentioned he is based in Bulgaria so my guess is he either Bulgarian or Russian
StevieSpain D who cares what anyone thinks!
Got mine 4 days after ordering. Been using it for a week, every day. I've not had this much fun in YEARS
That just made me go out for a ride 😉👍 Cheers to that!
10 month past could you tell us the current state of the scooter?:p
Lol I got mine 4 days ago and speed unlocked it to go 30kph/18.6mph and people at red lights are always trying to race me for some reason, it is fking hilarious.
@@Agent-lw3fh Its working fine. But I’ve had to change flat tires two times, and one of the battery cells are flat. So the range is half what it used to be

Honestly, this was the best review I've ever seen for this scooter. Very helpful. I've also ordered accessories from the site you provided. Thanks!!
I am so glad to see your comment! 😎👍 Thank you very much! A lot of passion and energy there, and it is totally worth.
I'm about to buy this! Any recommendations for a beginner? Thanks.
I have around 710 km on mine, no flats... just city traffic - 80 kilograms loaded, gets up to 27 km/h (like really) - gets up to 18 km in ice-cold weather... (without ice, but sub-zero - in celsius)
Awesome achievements.
I recently saw a post by a spanish girl that weighs 60kg and she managed to reach 39 kilometers in her second ride.
@@paradonym thanks for the tips!
DerParadonym how did you secure your rear light against rain?
@@PriestBonner unscrew the fender, undo the clipped plug under there, hot glue the whole area the cable is in, do shrinking tube under the cable which comes from the battery, rescrew the fender with plugging the rear light back in.

I'm glad it is understandable. Not sure I got this right - you say that you also live here, in Sofia?
Well said! It does change habits. Happened the same to me.
In which part of the world do you live? Are there enough bike lanes?
I live in Stockholm sweden. There are bike lanes and separate bike trails all across the city, the network is great for getting around by bike.
Out where I live though I need to scoot on the side of the main road but it works just fine!
@@simonolofsson7488 Og, that's a terrific city for people that like bikes. Enjoy a lot riding your Mijia! :)

Awesome 👍😎😇 Wow, 40 kilometers! I believe you - your weight is fantastic for that scooter. Must feel awesome.
Tech4All No problem, I have the solution to increase your battery autonomy and to gain more kilometres: Join a Muay thai gym and start training hard at least two hours a day....ahahahaha joke! Thanks a lot for your videos!

3200! Respect! 👍😎
Any ideas how to bypass the software block?

Very good advises, thank you for that! And wishing you many more problem-free kilometers.

Except people are dying like flies in road accidents.
+1 for curiuousjoe and their upgrade pack !
Yup, outstanding quality indeed.
To your question:
These days I'm testing the Turboant X7 Pro and realize how nicer it is to have bigger tires.
Guess the newer models will be even better 🙃
I hope this helps - although not a too definite response.... Guess it is about prioritizing comfort or tire size. Maybe the Ninebot Max has them both?
@@TechMishka Thank you, I'll bear those points in mind.
Keep up the good work.

Glad you enjoyed that, and thanks a lot for your kind comment. 😇Hope to see you around more often! 👍
@@one_step_sideways Does installing custom firmware void the warranty?

$990 scooter that substituted for a bike (average GOOD bike $400) but was so durable & fun.
Rainstorm and sidewalk submerged puddles, off sidewalks, down Las Vegas Blvd with a group of 40 PEDAL bikes.
Still sold it for $400 in September 2015.
I'm buying the MOFO model in June.
So worth the money.
Fcuk Wal-Mart's $400 model...batteries & engineering cost money people!!
Giga-like! 👍👍
Thanks for the video. These are gold tricks! Greetings from Turkey!
Warmest regards back to Turkey! 😎👍
One of the best scooter reviews i've seen for a while. Great video Michael, thumbs up !
Wow, thanks! 😇👍
Give those tires a review on amazon. To help others. Nice vid.
I didn't order them from Amazon, so I probably cannot leave any feedback. I bought them from a local retailer here.
But for rocky roads... guess we don't have too many options, do we 😎
Excellent honest review
Saif ali
Nice scooter.
Put the tires in hot water, if you want them to be softer during replacement.
The hot water makes them more flexible to handle.
Thanks epSos - will be trying this next time, thanks!
After 1867 km, the speed and range feel the same as in the beginnings so ... that's very nice :)
I'm glad about this scooter too!
It affects that, yeah. But I try to use the scooter more instead of driving the car. It is mostly up to you.
You should try the 10 inches tires, my 365 is sooo much confortable now !
Are they inflatable 😇? If there are any 10-inch solids, I will give it a try; Will never ever run air-filled tires on our roads here. If we had nicer alleys and roads - would have been a different story.
where do u get them from?
Hi can you recommend, a replacement tyre? what one did you apply in the video?
Wow, great video! There is a lot of info. Really helpful, Thanks!!!
Glad it helps, Raymond. Thank you for your kind words! 👍😎
Great video. I was totally surprised when you said you are from Bulgaria! Pozdravi ;)
I thought he was from something like the Netherlands because of his accent 😅
But he said he's based in Bulgaria. Not that he's actually from Bulgaria :P
Small world, isn't it! 😂 Warmest regards back to you (поздрави! :-))
If I may confirm - born and raised here. And I consider myself as a citizen of the world 🤗😎
Good review. I wondered how scooters held up over time. Where I live the roads are too fast so a scooter is not practical but I have visited cities that have rental scooters all over. They are both fun and practical. It would be great for the environment to have them in all cities, replacing most cars.
@IWillBeRichSomeday What country is yours?
@IWillBeRichSomeday Surprising. I wouldn't have guessed.
Can you the ride the m365 in the rain? Would it damage the battery compartment or seep through?
you can, but it i wouldn't recommend it. it doesn't damage the battery but the traction loss is definitely scary. plus you'd be soaking wet haha
(hopefully that's correct)
Thank you so much for the kind words, and fingers crossed you to enjoy the M365.
Hey mate, you didn't mention if you were OK after the accident, and I hope it was all fine!
May you have no further accidents! Enjoy riding!
Mine's a year old as well. Tires should be solid from the ground up.
Agreed! Two reasons less to worry about. 😎
I agree
Any issues with battery soldering and overall build with the “quality” of the ride with solids?
This is the death of bicycle.
I have terrible back pain riding a bicycle.
This feels perfect, standing straight up.
it depends on the surface you're riding on though.
Very informative and well done review, Thank you
Thanks Steve! 👍😎😻
Solid tires are a must on electric scooters.
Depends on where you ride them; but - yeah - I totally agree with you for the region where I live.
Tech4All Thanks for the reply! I ordered mine just yesterday.
Thanks Lucid! While it sounds very easy as you say it, I believe for most people it is quite a challenge.
Where do you put your scooter when you go to public places?
I carry it with me. Haven't found a decent lock so far.
Good question. I wanna get one for my school yet no idea where to put it.
I either push it next to me or fold it. It's a conversation starter.
If I can't take it inside, can use a dlock thru the back wheel to a pole.
Thank you so much! I’ve been looking for a video like this for so long.
I am glad it helps!
Great video. Very informative!
In you run out of juice, how hard is to ride it in a sport mode?
And is it suitable for indoor mode?
Thanks
IF battery is below 30-35%, it feels like riding in eco mode 😎👍 IF you have zero battery - then you can kick-move it, but it is a little harder than having a regular non-motorized scooter.
You can use it indoors, of course.
M365 forces you to use eco mode when 50% or lower.
The stock firmware is not 500W max. If you download the app M365 tool you can see or record data of your ride. Mine has peak over 600W with stock 1.4.2 firmware. Today I plan to try 800W with custom firmware. This scooter is awesome looking forward to the PRO :).
Wow, that sounds a lot! Is the 600W possible with the stock firmware too?
@@TechMishka Sure with stock 1.4.2. I had slightly over 600W with full charged battery. Now I tried firmware created with botox and peak is 800W. The acceleration and hill climbing is awesome now :-).
@@TechMishka You can create your own FW here m365.botox.bz
@@TheDownloader86 SOunds like a great option for a heavier person like me 😎👍 Thanks a lot!

Using oil near tires and breakes is crazy, for that silicon spray exists!!!
Thanks Klaus.
Браво, страхотно видео с полезна информация !
Много хубаво да виждам български коментари ♥️
Много успехи желая! ❤
I got this scooter for my Birthday
Happy birthday! And enjoy a lot riding it 🙃
Just got mine today. Thanks for all the great advice. It will be very helpful.
Good luck! and have a lot of fun riding it!
Great video. Your thoughts on the Ninebot ES4?
It is awesome!
The idea about ECO mode is fantastic - I use it a lot - mostly because I find the non-eco mode too ... lazy. Just want to combine some exercise by kick-moving, and also the pelasure of feeling the wind when it gets too hot :-)
DO you mind sharing your firmware build? I am quite keen on trying something different, and yours sounds like something quite fun. Unfortunately I am way heavier (around 90), but it might work well.
Also - which tubeless model do you find best?
@@TechMishka I don't find any tubeless model the best. I recommend installing tube tires and using the tire sealant to make those tires indestructible. But I guess the best tubeless tires are the ones with holes, since they can theoretically absorb more vibration and are lighter. The lighter the tires are, the easier it is to spin them for the motor, thus increasing the range. Regular tube tires are the lightest.
My firmware build is:
Base firmware - 1.3.8
KERS speed - 40.0
Top speed Normal mode - 31
Top speed ECO mode - 26
Engine startup speed - 1.0
Constant power of the engine - 51575 (use 46886 (550W/275W) or 42979 (600W/300W) if you're heavier)
Russian acceleration algorithm ON
Using weak regeneration also helps.
Looking forward to your review of m365 PRO :)
I love the whole Video. The way you explain, the background music. +1 sub
Thanks Marco! Much appreciated and hope to see you around more often. As soon as it gets warmer, there will be more scooter videos.
Hi what’s up with your scooter today?
Thanks for your great video, done with real facts and for your tips about Escooter products, so thank you,
Greetings from Geneva, Switzerland, Pascal
Hey Pascal, warmest regards to Geneva - one of the loveliest areas in the world! 🌞
The scooter hasn't been out this week due to the rainy weather.
@Wanted Marshmallow It affects me - I want to be smiley and not to be cold under rain :D
Are you taking a shit in the woods at 12:30?
Eeerrrrr 🤭😇
Got one the other day. Only took me 12KM in 12C weather. I weigh in at 102kg
Not happy about the reach at all.
I get double. I weigh 65.
It gets better in time - the more you get used to the way it works, the better range you will get.
4 punctures in 1000km?? I'm surprised you didn't put Slime Puncture Prevented in your tyres! It really works on my m365 and bicycle - never had a puncture in years :)
And I'm surprised you haven't upgraded to adding a second battery pack (8Ah li-ion batteries on AliExpress for €60) connect in parallel to existing battery to double your range! No need to spend 600€ on a pro version!! :-)
Really enjoyed your review! I'll definitely buy one of those easy to clean bottom plates!
:) happy scooting!
Dan, I have not seen any of these €60 packs, and now you just deployed another idea I can't stop thinking about in my head. Thanks for the awesome idea - I will definitely check them.
