Man, I can tell you that changing the tube on these scooters is one of the biggest pain in the asses I have ever experienced. Getting the right tire was a struggle, and once I had the tire (went up to 3.0 width), I had to buy several tubes. All were 8-1/2 x 2, but they are not all equal. I actually pulled the tube from one of the tires that I purchased that was 8.5x2, but was for a larger rim (glad that I did not return it). The first 8.5x2 tube pinched in two places as the inside diameter was too small for the split rim. Running a larger diameter 8.5x2 worked...watching your video confirmed that I was doing it correctly, just had the wrong sized 8.5x2 tube...
I had my Apollo City (Zero 9 clone) for less thank 2 weeks now. Got my first flat tire on the rear today. Unbelievable! Thankfully I discovered it as I was about to go for a ride. Must have been a puncture from my last ride causing a slow leak. And I thought I was being very cautious about what I roll over. I had heard about the the dreaded flat tires on these air tire scooters when doing my research before purchase. Had no idea it would be so easy to get a flat. My previous scooter was a Glion Dolly which had solid tires. Never had to worry about flats. Thanks for the video! It is very timely. Something I was considering to do when buying this scooter, I think this is a good time to do it. That is to replace the rear tire with a Solid tire. I know I will loose some comfort in riding, but I have been a Glion rider for a couple years now. I am very accustomed to the feel of solid tires. Plus the Apollo as something the Glion lacks. Real suspension, so the ride quality should not decrease too much. I just ordered the tire from Rev Rides today. I will probably still get a tube and keep it for the front tire. I just don't want to get caught out there with a Flat. This scooter is to heavy to have to schlep back to home base.
I am very glad this video can help you my brother. Yes flats stink specially if they happen out on the field BUt is part of owning these fun machines. Hey first and foremost my prayers go out to you. Very professional video I'm getting the Vsett 8 I'm thinking about changing the front tire to tubeless. Am I more likely not to get flats the tubeless tire rather than a pneumatic tires? Don't really want to result to the honeycomb because of the rough ride. Would love to hear your opinion
A few observations after doing it this morning :-) Mine had flat yesterday, I pumped up tyre but found its balance was all off when pumped back up, hence removal of tyre to see what was happening. (inner tube all bunched up). On my zero 9 the little protector plate on tube was fitted the other way round, anyhow removed. I like to add a little talcing powder to tube to help in not sticking to inside of tyre. I have slime inside tube, I thought I had let all air out before removing tyre, removed the valve. Slime can spray a HUGE area !!!! Luckily it was able to be removed from all non porous surfaces with damp clothe. Slime can block valve, do a leak test after inflating, I was getting bubbles at valve, put new valve in the end. Make sure thread lock the rims and main wheel threads when reassembling.
@@PEVRidersClub One more observation - Dont use cheap chinese repair kit. The glue was awful and I got about 5km and tyre went flat again. Patch had not stuck properly !. Had to push it home. :-(
Yeah i never used patches over the years of using E-Scooter I rather change to a new tube with tire sealant and is way better. IMP patches are a waste of time 😎👊🏾 Thank you Fam
@@PEVRidersClub Ok, This is the first puncture I have had on scooter. Had a few back in the day on pushbikes. Luckily I had spare tube so put that in and going to have a quick ride around the block now.
Oh my lord 🤦🏻♂️ that quick huh? Yeah when I made this video my wife got a flat tire pretty quick on her Zero 9 but after the new tube plus the tire sealant has not have another one since which is AWESOME 👊😜🤙

I was turning onto the Queensboro a few weeks ago, and I hit loose gravel and my rear tire spun off the rim and the rubber melted. I tried taking off the wheel, but those screws on the inside of the rim are extremely tight. It seems like the tool you use in the video allows you to use a little more strength to loosen the screws. Where do you recommend I re-order the new tire and tube?
Well I order all my stuff from revrides.com?sca_ref=99994.9l0rcgxa9V They are always very helpful and fast IMO. I hope you are enjoying your scooter (they are so much fun) Also please consider subbing to our channel if you haven't and come hang out with us on Facebook also 👊😎🤙

I would love to see a part 2 to this video and pit this Red Armor-Dilloz vs Gempler's "Extreme" Heavy-Duty-Grade Ultraseal™ Tire Sealant. Both are rated for 1/2". We know what the prior will do, now I am curious of the latter. The Gempler's sells by the gallon, but the per-ounce cost is significantly less.
It used to be on both front and rear tires BUT it is not supposed be there on new Zero 9s anymore so depending when you got yours you may not even have that piece in yours.
I am hoping the manufacturer has been informed of the design flaw caused by the plastic insert? - I ordered the Z9 today, hopefully this has been corrected.

Hey Carlos - great video, love how easy it is to follow and very comprehensible :-)! Quick question, did you try and add Armor Dilloz to the tire that had a puncture to see if it would patch it up?
Hey Apollo Scooters 👋🏽 thank you for the kind words. Based on the size of the cut / slice from that plastic piece and by the helpful advice from Cory at Armor-Dilloz I decided not to waste this elixir on a tube with that size and kind of damaged as it would have not patch that. And now the wifey's scooter hopefully should be ready to hit Baja Mexico 😜🤙🏽
Yeah, these kind of cuts / tears on a are a nearly universal death sentence, and in the case of the cuts caused by these plastic stem surrounds, it seems like there's not a sealant possible that could help as even if you do get it to seal, it'll just blow out again. Terribly frustrating issue. Unfortunately, no matter how awesome our Armor-Dilloz sealant is, there are some things even it cannot fix.
