you can make one really cheap with random crackers and cheaper meat and cheese from trader joes maybe max $5-10
It depends what time you visit the Tesco reduced section. If you get there at exactly the right time you could make a smaller version specific for your tastes for a few pounds.
Plus if you have nasturtiums the entire plant is edible and tastes really peppery. If you make capers using the pods and use the flowers on the cheese board it could look incredibly fancy for basically nothing

One accoutrement that’s highly underrated, but is amazing to have: black current preserves. The taste is like a somewhat tart, but also sweeter, blackberry, and it is delicious to have on a cheese board.
I’m bringing a cheese board for a work party tomorrow. It won’t look like that. Not even close.

Another tip I’ve seen on the internet for cheese boards is:
When serving for a large crowd that might have people like kids and picky eaters, put more adventurous cheeses and option in corners of the board. For example, put a funky blue, smelly Brie or Camembert, in a corner, and even just different options, like olives, goat cheese, figs, etc.(thanks Sara Lynn, the domestic geek YT)

I make these all the time when I'm hosting friends for drinks, and it just looks so pretty that nobody will want to be the first to touch it! Ha ha ha! I have to dig in so my guests will follow my example! It's not even particularly expensive to make, depending on what you put on there. Even cheap items can be made to look great on the board.
My food can’t touch like this so i would have to have like 50 different boards 🤣

Something I learned in France is that it's better to leave the cheeses whole and not break them up like that. It makes it look good but it spoils the cheese quicker and doesn't keep as well.
Unless you're gonna eat it right away which it kind of what happens at a party usually

I’m sorry, I LOVE different types of cheeses, but both these ideas are unappealing to me or anyone I know. Maybe it’s because I’m just a simple kind of man. Just give me pepperoni, cheddar, turkey, and a few other types of typical meats and cheeses and I’ll show you a really delicious cheese board. 😀
