Gunn should have let Gal do one more movie and have it release right before Superman to close off the DCEU cause she was the only real reason people loved that universe honestly
they would have probably had a ww3 if ww 1984 didn't flop. besides we are getting a wonder woman prequel series and a gunn talked about trying to launch an animation show. don't know if we will ever get one tho.
@@nestorsifuentesaguirre2722 same, i love dcau wonder woman but as I’ve actually become a WW fan and read multiple of her stories it the dcau never lived up to her full potential
I liked the injustice Wonder Woman in the sense the writers actually were given permission to make her evil. Unlike Superman or Batman they didn't have some _weird_ justification for it they just did it. And since everyone seems to hate the character, I think they did their job well. They made her interesting "evil" and not just evil for the sake of it *evil* .
I really wish we gotten an animated series for Wonder Woman like for Batman, Superman, and even Green Lantern. I’m tired of most of WW adaptation that solely focuses on her is just her origin story. I would love to see more of her relationship with her supporting casts like Steve Trevor, Etta Candy, Hippolyta, Donna Troy, Artemis, Nubia, Cassie Sandsmarks, and the rest of the amazons. I would love to see more of her rogue gallery outside of Aries and Cheetah, like Blue Snowman, Dr Psycho, Silver Swan, and Circe. Wonder Woman has so much lore that DC are either too lazy or too afraid to explore for people who don’t read comics
Well green lantern has had a series on cartoon Network that is kinda loved although (I don't love the animation) and also he was basically the main character of new frontier and that was an amazing animated movie also he has a movie so idk he got one before flash and that's criminal to me
ok lets talk about this, you say you want to see more things about Diana that are not her origin story, so make me a list of all the main key lore events after her origins story, key events that shape the character, like for example "Spiderman and Gwen Stacy's death" how many "Lore Pillar Events" Diana has?
Every time I see fans put Wonder Woman up against another Character I laugh my ass off because she can easily stomp out the competition yet that’s not what immediately comes to mind as she’s more of a compassionate protector. Wonder Woman is such a cool character, hope they do her justice in the DCU.
@@Cdr2002 She, Champion(SPOILER, it was Hercules) and Wonder Girl killed a Doomsday in volume 2. And by that I mean a perfect copy of Doomsday and by killed I mean reduced his body to powder and mist so he couldn't revive from death anymore! And that was the Cassie Sandsmark Wonder Girl, so it's more accurate to say Wonder Woman and Champion beat Doomsday while periodically pushing Wonder Girl out of their way. And Doomsday was joined by perfect copies of The Flash(Barry Allin, who was still dead at the time) and Sinestro...perfect except for the fact Flash usually isn't evil, but point was it wasn't simply Doomsday being ganged up on, he had his own team and still lost to the point his signature return from Death powers weren't enough.
@@insupportofjunhado didn’t know that, that’s very impressive! I don’t think you really needed to go out of your way to undersell Cassie like that, but I haven’t read it so maybe that’s how the fight went down. Every hero has to start somewhere
@@Cdr2002 Yes, start. This was back when Cassie Sandsmark was still a problem child who was more of a hinderance than help. Diana wanted to give Cassie proper training but Cassie's mother Helena refused to let Cassie get involve in anything combat related or supernatural, so Cassie's involvement was usually unexpected and detrimental. It wasn't until The Amazons all contracted the same disease and almost died due to the Olympians playing around with something in space that Cassie Sandsmark started becoming useful. Namely by requesting a personal audience with Zeus and begging him for super powers like Diana's(later revealed that she always had them, but Zeus suppressed them because Helena couldn't handle normal girl Cassie, much less super speed super strength Cassie). Even then this just made Cassie tough enough to survive or fast enough to get away from the problems she caused. Finally after Neron dealt Diana a mortal blow she asked Artemis to give Cassie the training she really needed on her death bed, finally turning her into a competent Wonder Girl(and Supergirl too. Don't know what was happening in the Superman books but she apparently needed training that Diana also couldn't give on account of dying/being dead) Rebirth/Infinite Frontier/Dawn Of DC I don't know as much. Cassie isn't trained by Artemis, Artemis in fact refuses to teach her anything this time around, but Cassie in the Rebirth stuff never seems as stupid or out of place as she was in Wonder Woman volume 2.
Gunn can't be trusted with DC properties. He made a horrible SS film and is currently making an atrocious adaptation of Superman. He is going to end DC Comics.
Hope it's not connected to the DCU or any other continuity. I also hope both that series and game avoid modern politics and respectfully adapt the source material (the good source material specifically) and that the game is fun and not a live service and microtransaction riddled mess, or even a good live service. I hate live service and microtransactions and always online crap. Game better not be an over the shoulder fixed camera playable movie either, should be like classic God of War or Shadow of Mordor.
@@MattGraves01I'm very very cautious on his plans for the DCU. He loves adaptating obscure characters but has a bad track record of adaptating them in a accurate way, like Bloodsport or Star Lord. They're likeable but it always disappoints me. Not to mention Tom King's involved with this, so I hope he barely effects the universe like Geoff Johns barely effected the DCEU. His teams casting for Superman: Legacy is all good so far, except they race bent Hawkgirl again and Nathan Fillion would've been a better Hal Jordan. Still hasn't been a bad live-action Superman casting yet as far as I know, new lois is good and we might be getting the only good live-action action Lex besides Smallville Lex (who isn't as good as modt animated Lex's). Also his favorite Robin is Damian Wayne, he likes Tom King Superman/Supergirl runs, and he thought Tim Burton Batman's OST which are all red flags imo, despite how petty the first and last ones are.
@@chocov1233 I'm not even sure if I even want to watch any of his DCU films. He wasted great actors like Michael Rooker and Peter Capaldi in his SS film, so if any castings he's done are good, then it's likely he'll waste them too. Well Tyler Hoeclin is a horrible Superman, so it's still possible that Gunn's casting is also bad. Him liking Damian Wayne is definitely a red flag for me as I despise that character.
There was a point in the comics where Wonder Woman was essentially just the secretary for the Justice League, because "Haha, women" - she was Woman without getting to show the Wonder.
Naw, it should be grandiose like God of War (2005) - God of War: Ascension. I've dreamed about a Wonder Woman game in that style for many many years now. Either that or it could be like Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor/Shadow of War gameplay-wise, that'd be lit.
The animated Wonder woman movie is actually my favorite movie from 2009. Which is kind of crazy when you look back on all the really great movies that were out on the big screen during that year.
So true, along with the justice league animated series wonder woman voiced by Susan as Diana is also amazing. However I feel as if they wouldn't want to use the 2009 version and personality for a new wonder woman because even though she was open minded and valiant she still held strong negative views against the opposite sex based on the teachings by her mother.
After the first Wonder Woman movie you would think there'd be Wonder- mania. You'd think they'd be more comics, a cartoon, games, toys, etc. Guess WB is not as "woke" as people thought.
Wrong. Plenty woke. They just kept trying to artificially make Harley Quinn mania a thing to fill their ESG scores when they literally have the first major female superhero as literally one of their big three and a prominent female Superman family member in existence. Like, how do you be so dumb, WB? You had TWO perfect opportunities giftwrapped for you to try and please both woke and non-woke people and you dumped all your points into psycho, white trash barbie! XD
Oh they did have Wonder Woman many That's how we got Wonder Woman 1984 and then they made so many spin-off Wonder Woman comic books but the problem is all of that Wonder Woman mania stuff that they had after the first Wonder Woman movie it sucked and people didn't buy it because the writers and people who were working on the Wonder Woman stuff didn't understand Wonder Woman and they wanted to make her more about agenda of Wonder Woman don't need no man she's a powerful woman and you know that old same nonsense of men are beneath women kind of trope and people just aren't going to be interested in that kind of stuff Oh and then of course they wanted to start focusing on LGBT topics as well so yeah of course that was going to go wrong lol
The closest we got to a Wonder Woman story that is equivalent to “Death of Superman/Kinghtfall” was her “Genocide” story arc. In which she was severely beaten by Genocide that left her bruised body and broken soul. But then much like Batman, she had to re-learn about herself and to stand up to this incredible foe no matter it takes. Second close was her another self discovery story arc during the 52 Story run (Not to be confused with New 52). But that was more Diana’s self discovery as a person than Wonder Woman.
Wonder Woman's "Death of Superman/Knightfall" was "Amazons Attack", where Artemis challenges Diana, Hippolyta cheats to make Diana lose, this giving Artemis the title and role of Wonder Woman. Then Artemis spends 2 or 3 issues running around and doing stupid stuff until she eventually gets killed. Then Hippolyta reveals that she had recently gotten a warning from some Oracle that they'd gotten the message that "Within three weeks time, Wonder Woman will die!" So she orchestrated things to make sure that Diana was no longer Wonder Woman.
@@jerfuhrer2581 That was The Contest, not Amazons Attack. Amazons Attack is where she was drugged and kidnapped by the US Government because they wanted their own Death Ray and the Amazons wouldn't tell USA how to build one. By the time Wonder Woman busted out the two sides were at war and the damage had been done...and instead of Death Rays we got Amazons on flying horses shooting bees.
Alright when you were mentioning video games all I could think was the fact that flashs never gotten his own game but then hearing that there's only been two animated wonder woman films was legitimately jaw-dropping
You know a wonder woman series would be fire. Seeing her in world war 2 all the way up into the modern era. The relationship with steve trevor. Going up against villains like Cheetah, giganta, dr psycho, dr poison, ares, circe. Wonder woman has a surprisingly huge rouges gallery
Patty's hubris in WW84 ruined Wonder Woman for the masses. Hopefully the game restores the general public's interest in her. She's a layered and complex character who deserves so much more respect ijs
Whatever the next big project is for wonder woman I really hope they either give gigantia some love or use some of her wacky villains like the blue snowman or egg fu
If Wonder Woman enters the DCU. let's just hope if James Gunn's version of WW's costume her Star-Spangled Underwear/Briefs/Trunks because it's been a long overdue for a Live Action Wonder Woman with a Swimsuit.
I'm not that surprised that Wonder Woman has never had her own animated series. Warner Bros would probably cancel and say something dumb like we can't sell toys based on a female lead action cartoon series. 🙄🙄🙄🙄
The biggest problem with warner bros is that they have Boomers calling the shots, most of the stuff people call woke comes from boomers failing at being hip.
I never like it when an awesome cartoon gets canceled and the executives fall back on the "It just wasn't selling enough toys" excuse. It's not about making money, it's about making art.
@mommatthew2756 well with her marketing and limited avenues it would kinda make sense but then again she's the most famous and influential super heroine, so she deserves more
@mommatthew2756You are very wrong. Wonder Woman was well received from the beginning, her comics were popular and she was relevant before a Trinity with Batman and Superman was established. Linda Carter's series is still recognized today, if it had been given more dissemination in the media she would have more recognition. For example, what iconic characters did Marvel have before the movies? Only Spiderman, while Iron Man and Thor did not enjoy the popularity they have today, did not matter to anyone, until Marvel had the brilliant idea of creating the cinematic universe. The difference is that Wonder Woman did have relevance, but the dissemination of the character outside of comics is the key to everything. Even Superman himself is losing popularity because DC has taken it upon itself to overexploit and magnify the image of Batman.
@mommatthew2756 Remember this one though, most people have seen the Lynda Carter show, the Gal Gadot movies, the 2009 animated film, Bloodlines, Super Friends, Batman: TBATB and Justice League/Unlimted. They will be able to name at least a few of them. Most people know who Cheetah, Baroness, Dr. Cyber, Dr. Veronica Cale, Giganta, Ares, Circe, Silver Swan, Medousa, Hera, Heracles (aka the pest), Angler Man and Hecate are due to their appearances in media, and with the recent Harley Quinn show people are aware of Dr. Psycho...yes she actually fights somebody named Psycho...and you would think people in the DCU would know better than giving him a doctorate degree. Cheetah appears the most of course because she is self-proclaimed as Diana's arch-enemy and has a similar dynamic with Lex and some Joker...after that it's a coin flip between Circe and Giganta, then Baroness is the primary villain of the Carter show in the first season, although under her alternate name Gargantua, Giganta also appeared...and in later '77 comics, Silver Swan and Cheetah were used because it's not Wonder Woman without a Cheetah.
To be fair, JLU , JLA and Gal Gadot's WW are the only mainstream versions that I feel have been done right. A lot of others portray her as a misandrist and/or a complete monster conviced of her own justice. (Injustice WW in particular is basically the real villain of that elseworld story)
The Justice League cartoon is debatable. It's a solid adaptation, but screws her over TOO MUCH to be considered "done right", like how they make her Batman's love interest, how they change her origin story to the daughter of Hades, the episode the centered around one of her villains (Circe) has her out of comission while Batman takes center stage (now that I think about it, that show really liked jerking off to Batman, huh?)
Linda Carter's TV version was shallow also but at her prime, Linda carter was the best physical embodiment of wonder woman. She was 5 feet 8 inches. 38 25 36 stats. She was extraordinarily beautiful which was the only reason to watch the show. Memes and give galore of her running. I wondered why they couldn't find a better choice than gal gadot
No one knows anything about Donna Troy and that’s kinda sad. She needs to be in more things she’s confusing enough and her not getting any exposure isn’t helping. Edit the whole Wonder Woman side of DC needs more love
Both Donna and Cassie are relatively unknown to the general audience or even casual comic readers. Wonder Woman has never had her lore properly depicted on screen.
If Donna Troy just had one good adaptation on screen then the comics would follow and she could finally get a solid established origin that isn’t confusing
@@sofakingdom5806 I personally felt Titans Donna was perfect casting. I don't necessarily agree with how they killed her, but it wasn't a deal killer for me.
Wonder Woman, Green lantern and Aquaman all deserve better. They need more attention in DC media as there criminally underrated and have so much potential. Wonder woman deserves her own animated series and a game so does Green lantern. Imagine what you could do with a green lantern game with all that fascinating lore and those powers you have so many game play possibilities.
I wish she got the same plot armor bullcrap that Superman and Batman get all the time. There should be a lot of stuff she should be able to do being a demigoddess besides being just to punch hard.
"Where is her Death of Superman/The Killing joke" I heard rumors about that for Wonder Woman... Let's just say the idea was really vile and DC would NEVER recover from it💀
@@rodgers1207 I think what's being alluded to is the alleged "R-word of Wonder Woman" (censored because I don't know what TH-cam will do) book supposedly pitched by Mark Miller as a joke in the 90's. The joke was it was supposed to be like the Death of Superman, but wonder would get R-worded. Even worse is that supposedly DC actually liked the story, and even drew the first page. That was a time when DC was in a really bad spot, and were being really edgy when it came to how they treated their heroes.
@@rodgers1207Well with a female character one of two things: She either gets severely beaten up by a sadistic Man that enjoys it. Or gets R--ed. Or both. You know the dark fetish that exists online about what people would do to WW should they have a chance? Yes something similar.
Gail Simone is so right! But i think that can be the idea behind all DC comics to be honest. Like every new writer is a new take. I mean i can think of 3 popular villains that were created in the last decade, Punchline, God Speed and TBWL. Sometimes it feels like the universe is going nowhere.
I'll always be sad that the 2017 Wonder Woman movie (when I finally watched it a couple years ago) made me love the character because unlike every prior DCEU movie they actually focused on making her likable and well intentioned, only for me to watch 1984 not long after and realize that I can't have nice things. I'm hoping that they make more WW adaptations in the future since the most we have are two movies that adapt the same story (albeit told differently), Bloodlines (which is decent) and the garbage fire that is WW84. And I'm praying to all that's holy that the Wonder Woman game doesn't suck or flop, because you know if it does we're getting nothing but Batman games for a while going forward
Gal made me a fan but the character of Wonder Woman is the reader I stayed. Yes she’s not the strongest actress but she pulled off the fierceness and the compassion that Diana carries. Wonder Woman imo is truly the best female character and paved the way for so many after her. She deserves more appearances in all media imo.
0:56 Yara Flor was about to get her own tv series on *“CW,”* but it got Shelved. After The Naomi TV series is for the best Yara’s Show got shelved. CW does more harm than help. Donna Troy dies by electrocution? Are you serious? Does Donna Troy have powers? You know divine magic powers?
@@n8298906 originally, Donna troy was healed with the Amazon's purple ray which also gave her powers. By marv Wolfman's tenure where the teen titans run became as popular as the xmen long ago, it was retconned that the purple ray only activated Donna's metagenes and that Donna was more than just a metahuman. It was shown that she was also directly linked to the titans of legend who gave her new powers as troia. Under john Byrne she was a magical clone golem of wonder woman etc Its all confusing because of all DC characters, Donna troy is the key to the lost multi verse. She's the only DC character who lived and remembered all her alternate versions in the lost multi verse. So yes she's kind of an anomaly. Check out her wiki
@@n8298906 it was probably relying on implied knowledge about Amazonian technology. If they're using the simple original origin by Marv Wolfman before his 1983 update, then it's just Purple Healing Ray Imbued+ got a similar lasso to Diana's from S.T.A.R. Labs. (Not sure why Donna would need one from S.T.A.R. though since the Amazons are just as capable of advanced science as they are warriors when a proper writer remembers this.) Those Purple Healing Rays are able to do whatever. That said...to a bunch of people who ask that iconic storyline title without even knowing it's one...yes that could have been mentioned...while she was shown riding a Kanga...a giant alien kangaroo...which intrigued writer Phil Jiminez when he was a kid.
My problem with Wonder Woman is that DC never utilizes her connection with the Wonder family, all the wonder girls get character development in Teen Titans,JL and young Justice but never in WW stories even Green Arrow and Aquaman utilize the sidekicks and lore they've built up over the years better than Wonder Woman.
And I don't think leaving out sidekicks is disrespectful especially when they weren't really created with the character. Trevor and Etta are sufficient to take forward.
Definitely a favorite character. She definitely has a deep section of the universe to dive into for live action hopefully. Unfortunately she doesn't have great stories. I will agree writers should take a portion of the blame. I love her being in two worlds at once. Something I can't understand how more writers don't understand how to just write about that in good context.. Tom king run has been good, Historia was great... Dead Earth was a interesting, good read. I feel Gadot put some good interest in the character but unfortunately WW84 kinda killed any buzz she had. Hopefully we see James Gunn utilize her as a true Trinity member.
She does have a lot of good stories, they're just not compacted in short stories like Dead Earth. Try her runs by George Perez, Phil Jiminez, Gail Simone and Greg Rucka.
I keep telling people. Wonderwoman may be apart of the big 3, but she ain’t IN the big three. Ask any casual what they know about Batman and Superman, I’m sure they could write you a mini essay on both minimum, Ask them about Wonderwoman ask them genuinely “hey, before the WW movie did you know the name of 3 Wonderwoman villains” and they gonna be lost for words. More people know The Flash’s villains more than Diana’s
@mommatthew2756 "she has really no personality stick and no hook" Funny how people say the same thing about Superman XD Just shows ignorance on BOTH characters.
I really do think we need a DEFINITIVE and compelling Wonder Woman portrayal. Superman and Batman have had numerous portrayals that definitively outline their character and what they stand for. As a core member of the Trinity, WW needs to have a specific ideal she embodies in the same way Superman embodies Hope and Batman embodies Justice/a symbol of fear for criminals. WW has such a rich background and lore and I think brings a lot to the trinity and it’s a shame that her character is arguably less iconic and defined as the other trinity members.
I also think that there’s something really interesting that could be explored in terms of her bringing a feminine perspective to the JL. Not in like a modern feminist way, but more along the lines of the idea that men and women can have complementary traits to each other. What role/unique perspective could she bring to the trinity/JL that is exclusive to her being raised by an exclusively female society? Idk, just a thought.
I don't think we've get the definitive versions of any of the characters, specifically in live action. In animation, yes, but not in live action. None of them have found the right balance of serious and campy. They usually just choose one or the other, and limit themselves. Making them boring.
Great point about directors being given full creative control and going off the rails. People complain about studio meddling in these movies, but I'd rather have someone keeping continuity and characterization intact, than directors feeling they can just do whatever they want regardless of how it affects the larger universe.
She’s been getting written to be more and more insufferable the last decade I’m not surprised if people don’t respect her. Don’t write a character to be even slightly misandrist if you’re not going to tell them they’re wrong about it. Unfortunately that’s where a lot of Wonder Woman iterations fail for me. Her being that way initially makes sense based on her upbringing but she’s rarely called out for it and rarely drops her “Amazon superiority” complex. There have been plenty of good versions of Wonder Women but people only seem to remember the bad or cringe ones
@BajanDolly_ren seriously as much as I love the teen titans animated version of her, that version of starfire is the outlier in terms of her personality. She's has a long history of having anger issues and having to find ways to cope and coming to understand all that she went through as a kid. It feels like people want to take the 03 version and crank it up to 1000 and make her seem like a child rather then an adult woman
I hope they cook hard with that WW game! I'm craving some good DC gaming content. I'm replaying the OG Arkham Asylum and I would love they put that same amount of respect to her lore as that would make for a compelling game!
@@S2KPOP4 one of the comics writers. She's the one known for writing Birds of Prey, giving Barbara Gordon her new identity as Oracle and showing how one of the most iconic superheroines of all time, even though she had access to an Amazonian purple ray, preferred to get her mobility back the same way any other disabled person might...through therapy while also becoming the entire DCU's mission control and the leader of the team. She also wrote the Nu52 Batgirl about an earlier point in her career and had the last good Pre-Flashpoint Wonder Woman run before Strackzjynski introduced the modern (and dumb) idea of constantly making her a plaything of her pantheon instead of that being more of a one-off thing instead.
Wonder Woman has a sidekick and it’s Etta candy. They downsized her to a simple secretary instead of an American spy or something else to accommodate her to modern stories. How annoying!
I LOVE Wonder Woman and I’m so sad she’s been done dirty over the years, her story and the amazons have such potential but it feels like it’s always under utilized, one of my favorite things of Wonder Woman that I grew up on was Wonder Woman 2009, I loved also seeing Artemis in that
Lets be honest here, only Batman and Superman (but mostly Batman) exist at the eyes of DC right now. The "DC Trinity" is no more, its more like "DC Couple". I love Batman, but there's this old saying that goes "too much of a good thing is a bad thing", and I think I already had "too much" of Batman as of late. Enough is enough.
Even Superman himself is no exception. The fact that Batman received a star on the Hall of Fame before Superman (who is supposed to be the father of all superheroes) is too much. I think Superman is still taken into account out of obligation and habit 😂, but if it were up to DC they would stick with Batman alone. Wonder Woman's problem can be seen with almost all the other characters.
I remember reading 80's Wonder Woman comics over a few months time some few years ago so while I don't primarily follow the character currently, I'm decently familiar with her major friends and foes.
All the cool characters are so underrated, Wonder Woman, Klarion, Zatana, Circe, Nightwing etc. Also y’all be so salty that Gal Gadot cant. cAnt aCt foR ShiT. God so damn annoying
I liked the Superman - Wonder Woman relationship. They are ideal for each other. Trevor is nothing but a male damsel in distress and Lois Lane is annoying.
Diana with Clark is really the best romance for her. If DC would stop getting in it's own way and JUST LET IT WORK it would be their most popular romance by far. It puts them where they belong. Together as the Mother & Father of Superheroes.
I hope the WW game really amplifies her stories. She has many amazing stories especially in the Post-Crisis era, Justice League Dark (2018), and other assorted stories such as The Hiketeia and League of One. Praying that Circe is the main villain in the game!
Like it or not, Wonder Woman is perhaps the first true HERO in the comics. Like, not a "punch the bad guys and save the day" like Superman or being flashy like Batman. She is a genuine hero from the heart, she tries to make the world a better place instead of just landing her greatest hits and winning. The kind of compassion people like Optimus Prime show truly started with Diana. Screw the haters, I love this character and I'll do so when even I'm dead.
To be fair, the big problem with wonderwoman is that a lot of time, she's too preachy, most of the time on a high horse. It is sometimes hypocritical, especially with her themes of misandrism conflicting with feminism or the constant problem with the amazons sometimes being evil, never being resolved (plus the fact she is sometimes ok with it). Not to mention having so many retcons that make the character incosistent compared to superman or batman does not help. It's even worse when a lot of her more recognized comics are the writers dumbing down other characters to make her look better. An example is "The Hiketia" issue (which has a cover of wonder womans foot on top of batmans head) in which he is after a criminal who wonder woman decides for whatever reason to put under her protection. There was also that time she and the amazons attacked supergirl when she was taking a stroll with Superman to prove she couldn't control her powers instead of straight out asking him. It's similar when writers make it that batman can't kill joker for good. A lot of people hate it.
The Batman 2004 was a horribly missed opportunity to start a new shared animated universe. I would have made shows for Flash, Green Lantern, and of course Wonder Woman. I would have replaced hawk man and green arrow with Diana and Shiara to make the team more like the first show to draw fans in.
I think First Born would be an awesome villain in live action, it would also be great to see Devastation get more love. I think if done well, Devastation can be a lot of fun. The best way I can describe her is: "What if Brightburn had the personality of Chucky?"
the main issue with Diana is that she has way to "little" to support a bigger project like an animated show. batman and Superman have huge villain galleries, they have key lore elements, Diana don't. Diana needs a huge Lore Booster. Things like: 01: More villains, give Diana at least 10 new villains, and make it diverse so "no more gods or amazon related" villains, give Diana some crazy scientists, some evil rich villains, B and C villains, and people that can show up every week, not some Big Powerful God that Diana will fight once every 10 years to stop some big crisis. She needs classic "villains of the week", and maybe some villain she can't just punch, villain Diana need to beat in "Non-combat" ways. 02: Diana needs a territory, she needs her version of Metropolis/Gotham, a place that she watches over, and make it official, like if she will be Washington's guardian, make it official, make Washington love Diana in the same way Metropolis loves Superman. 03: base of operations, Superman has his fortress of solitude, Batman has the batcave, give Diana her place, a place she can keep all the cool stuff she gets during her adventures, a place she can to rest and keep her secrets ( Themyscira is not her place, is her mother's place). 04: Support characters, and by support character i am not talking about side kicks that show up from time to time, or some allies that help her once a year. Diana's needs a Alfred, or a Jimmy Olsen, she is easily the most lonely of the trinity members. She need one or two characters that will be always there, making her job easier or just to have someone to talk. She needs interaction. 05: cut the umbilical cord between Diana and the Amazons, I love the lore of the Amazons, but Diana is very dependent on it and the same goes for the Amazons they are very dependent on Diana. Diana has hyper focus and monopoly over the Amazons, it's time for DC to start giving space to the Amazons in stories that have nothing to do with Diana, and Diana needs more lore elements that are completely separate from the Amazons and Themyscira 06: Nemesis, Diana dont have a real Nemesis, like Luthor/Joker, give her one. 07: Give Diana more definitive key lore moments, key episodes of her story that cannot be changed and have a permanent effect on her mythology, especially tragic episodes, most popular heroes like Superman, Batman, Spider-man, they all have these key events that serve as pillars to build the characters' mythology, Diana has an almost insistent number of these events. 08: Romance, DC needs to decide if Diana and Steve Trevor have a future together or not, this whole "is complicated" thing they have is pointless, DC needs to decide if Diana and Steve will move foward and build a more solid relationship or if they will allow Diana to move on and try new romance options. Who knows, maybe the first movie have the right idea, "Kill Steve" make his dead one of Diana key lore events, give her development, and after some time try something with new romantic option make that and maybe you have enough to really build more material around her, like cartoons and games.
Veronic Cale and Collector are both evil rich people. Collector hasn't been around since the Golden Age but Cale was in DC Rebirth. Widow Sazia is also rich, if strictly criminal, and Sazia doesn't kill law enforcement officers or superheroes if she can help it, so Diana can't justify beating Sazia's face in most of the time. Her husband was much the same, so they could be a criminal power couple foil...if anyone cared about using the Sazias again. Doctor Poison is a crazy scientist. The current one, I think we're at number 4 now, is more so a mercenary gun for hire, but she still dabbles in toxin and pathogen research. Diana finds her to be an annoyance but Doctor Poison IV is a deadly threat to people like Steve Trevor and Seigfried. Doctor Cyber still exists, in two separate forms no less as of Infinite Frontier, but DC writers don't respect Doctor Cyber anymore. Diana has a territory. It's called Themyscira. She's laid down roots in Boston, New York, Washington DC, London, Los Angeles and the fictional Gateway City, but she's liable to uprooting and moving to new cities as her diplomatic duties demand it. She's been an ambassador since volume 2, with only a little "what the hell is her job now" hiccup during New 52. Themyscira is not Diana's place fine. There is "The Warchest of Nike", which has most of Diana's stuff in it, but it's technically not hers but Orana's. So fine, your first valid criticism. Diana's most consistent allies are Steve Trevor and Etta Candy, currently operating in ARGUS or Checkmate...admittedly the two do have an alarming tendency to be thrown out by the writers. Volume 2 also alternated between archeologist Julia Kapatelis and museum curator Helena Sandsmark...there's also Diana's chef, Ferdinand but yeah, her supporting cast often get swept aside for "AREN'T THE JUSTICE LEAGUE SO MUCH MORE INTERESTING. I REALLY WANT TO BE WRITING THE JUSTICE LEAGUE BUT THEY STUCK ME ON THE WONDER WOMAN BOOK!" The Amazons, even more so than the gods, are why Diana has a job. She can't be an ambassador without a country to represent and advocate for. I suppose you could take Diana back to her double agent role from the golden age comic books, where she was explicitly working for Aphrodite, but still, even with Hippolyta kind of gone the Amazons still account for Diana's best friends, Mala and Nubia, as well as the blacksmith Io and war chest keeper Orana. Even if she really gets her own private base and cuts out one middleman, why wouldn't she want to keep in touch with her friends. And where else but Themyscira is she going to house her kangaroo and megalodon pets? If you want amazon stories that have nothing to do with Diana, Nubia has consistently starred in those since Infinite Frontier. Donna Troy is technically an amazon too, and Artemis apparently had a backup in one of the Batbooks. That you have to buy a Batman thing to read about Artemis is atrocious, but that's still a step up from nonexistent. Circe WAS Diana's nemesis, Ares WAS Diana's nemesis, but you're right, she hasn't had one for the entirety of DC Rebirth. I'd prefer Diana's nemesis to NOT be a public domain character, since Wonder Woman herself doesn't originate from classical mythology, and Doctor Cyber used to serve that roll well enough, but she's been treated as a joke ever since Crisis On Infinite Earths. Key lore for Wonder Woman that cannot be changed? Okay, what about Superman can't be changed? About Batman. If you mean exploding planet or murdered parents, Wonder Woman defied her mother and left the only home she ever knew to help an unfamiliar one she could nonetheless tell was in greater need of her talents. Only slight few else world stories and New 52 ever changed that. DC has both had Diana and Steve get married, the two even having a daughter, and had Diana and Steve never get together, while Diana tried other romantic partners. He was her boyfriend this time around, last I checked. Has it gotten more complicated than that recently? All in all there's already enough about Wonder Woman to make an ongoing show. It's been done before! That was when there was considerably less Wonder Woman material to draw from too. The fact you didn't know these things is a sign of DC's failure at marketing and promotion, more than storytelling, but even if there were large story gaps for an adaptation to work, well fill them in then! The 1970s show barely used anything from the comic books, even creating an entirely new sister instead of using one of the two Diana already had. The Superman technicolor cartoon didn't use much of anything from the comic books and still managed to be a hit. It's the thing that gave Superman the power to fly and had comic book readers complaining about Superman not flying there too.
@@insupportofjunhado Thanks for you comment is always goo to have someone to talk and point if your comment bad or good points. By New villains i most want to said villains that can stud to Diana, yes she has Evil Rich People and Crazy cientists before, but as you say they are more on the "annoyance" box than the "they are dangerous" box. Take batman for example his villains are cherry picked to be on his level, you dont see so powerhouse becoming Batman's villain of the weak. Diana goes on the other direction, some of her Villains will die if she forget to hold back, If i remember right Doctor Poison was in the animated movie and she works better by making other Villains stronger than relaly fighting WW. My point about territory is about how make way easier to write Diana's stories if she has a fix place, Themyscira is fun but has way too much restrictions, is a secret magic island with only amazons and they are 99,9% good people. iving Diana a city like Washington for example, will make it easier for the writer to build around, just like Batman and Superman, About key lore points, lets give examples. Batman has a good number os tragic events with him and with his villains, for example the Joker killing the second Robin, the creation and death of some villains, romantic partner and other characters. the thing i said about getting away from the Amazon is not like "she never talk with the amazons anymore" you can still send her to Themyscira, she can still be friends with the Amazons, but i feel the two are a little too "Co-dependent" i think both will grow if they can become a little more "independent" of each other, for example if more Amazons follow Diana's example and leave the island to try once again follow the amazon old mission to help "mankind" to become better, maybe you get a amazon character that decide to go live in Gotham and show up from time to time as lesser character in batman stories, maybe you have a amazon that decides go live in Metropolis and show in superman stories from time to time. maybe you have an amazon that leave the island and becomes sector 2814 Blue lantern. Maybe you have amazons that leave the island and become corrupted becoming villains for Non-Wonder Woman heros.( i think what i want to say is, not every mutant character in marvel is about the X-men so maybe try to add amazon character to more sotires and lore outside Diana's lore). And While the amazons are big part of Diana's life, maybe add support character that is not Amazons and that stay long term, not because they are working on the same mission that Diana is, but because they are friends with Diana. and yes you are right Diana has a lot of things and even if she dont have a really good writer can create a show from nothing, the issue is how i can put this her "lore" and "theme" dont show attention like the other 2, she needs a writer that can really give her the spotlight.
@@insupportofjunhado i feel that maybe Diana needs the same things that happened to Moon Knight on Marvel, they took a character that like Diana changed again and again because each writer has a new idea for it. and give him everything. A complete new nemesis that work perfect, a new place that is very cool, new romantic option, a whole cllection of good support characters, new villains, the whole package
@@rafaelsantos-nl9jd Okay, Wonder Woman doesn't have any of these lore points on par with killing Joke or what not, but she has a few. Like in volume one she's ambushed by her mother, who then impersonates Diana as Wonder Woman in order to foil an attempt on Diana's life. In volume 2 this changed to Hippolyta being punished with serving as Wonder Woman after her callousness and ineptitude gets Artemis and Diana killed. In Infinite Frontier Hippolyta decides she is going to be the one to substitute as Wonder Woman for Diana while Diana is missing, after she finds three amazons fighting among each other for the right. Another is Wonder Woman pacifying the Empire of Saturn and getting them to abolish their use of chattel. She also drives off space pirates from Paradise Island/Themyscira, and tames some cargo, they left behind, establishing a "Kanga" population on the island. At some point she always falls into a trap set by Circe, who wants to kill/imprison/steal Diana's powers to get back at Hippolyta, because of a prophecy about Diana doing whatever, or because Circe's patron goddess Hecate likes Diana more than Circe. At some point she comes into conflict with Tezcatlipoca, who is victimizing the ancient amazon Atalanta. Atalanta invariably has some issue with Hippolyta, that Diana now has to resolve since Atalanta is free. There's the splinter amazon tribe of Bana-Mighdall, whom Diana will convince Themycira to recognize as legitimate. Rebirth actually combines the Atalanta and Bana-Mighdall plot points by making Atalanta one of Bana-Mighdall's cofounders. There's also a recurring plot of some aggressive red head taking the title of Wonder Woman and bringing disgrace to it. In the Silver Age it's Orana, who calls for contest to replace Diana and then cheats to win, with Ares convincing the gods to overrule Hippolyta when she disqualifies Orana. Of course the cheater is a terrible Wonder Woman and gets herself killed. Post Crisis Hippolyta cheats to help Artemis win the contest to replace Diana on the hopes Artemis will get herself killed in Diana's place...which she does. Infinite Frontier it is Artemis again, who takes the title of Wonder Woman while Diana is "missing" but doesn't understand this whole "diplomacy" thing, so the Amazons of Themyscira start fighting among themselves to decide who will then replace Artemis until Hippolyta decides she is going to do it. Rebirth/Infinite Frontier REALLY liked mashing together recurring plot points! The failure in diplomacy is with the Empire of Saturn, whom Diana finally pacifies upon returning.
@@rafaelsantos-nl9jd As for Amazons, I can't deny that there aren't many of any importance that aren't directly tied to Wonder Woman, but there have been a few. The traditional powerhouse of Batman's team, The Outsiders, is a hybrid amazon who doesn't live among any of the extant Amazon tribes...though right before Flashpoint The Outsiders gained a gargarean(a member of the all male counterparts to the amazons) who personally knew Diana. Don't know if that counts. In the Post Crisis Pre Flashpoint continuity Lex Luthor also had two amazon bodyguards, who to my knowledge never interacted with Diana or either of the extant tribes.
If James Gunn or whoever directs the DCU Wonder Woman movie does a good job it can carry over to other media just like the guardians of the galaxy or Peacemaker did And I hope for the love of god that she doesn't date batman or Superman i really really hate that
I think that Wonder Woman and Batman is better than Clark and Diana. She would be really healthy for Bruce. But I can't forget Steve Trevor, in the 50/50 chance he's in the universe. Wonder Woman works best as the gentle, compassionate heroine of my childhood. But for real, though. Never let New 52 cook again
What would be really interesting is Wonder Woman's take on killing. I mean think about, the Amazonians are based on Greek Mythology, very prone to violence. They've had to be that way in order to protect themselves. So have all that for a childhood, not to mention WW technically being a war veteran, I think her journey on how to balance that killer streak with compassion would be really cool. It'll definitely make an intriguing conflict with Batman's & Superman's "No Kill" Rule.
In the comics the amazons are warriors but they are not prone to violence. Diana generally uses violence as a last resort and doesn't kill unless it's absolutely the last option (like when she killed Maxwell Lord), which is why her main weapon is her lasso. Also, post crisis she came to men's world after ww2, so she's not really a war veteran. (The new 52 made the amazons very violent and gave her a sword... but everyone was out of character in the new 52)
@@nikoletta3855 Apologies, I didn't know all that. I guess I just thought it be cool to take more from the Greek Mythology and the War I was referring to was the one in the 2017 movie. But since James Gunn is redoing her story, there's probably no point in mentioning that. Thank you for informing me!!😊👍🙏🏾
Beg your pardon but I respectfully disagree. Wonder Woman's creator William Marston wrote the Amazons as a peaceful, enlightened race as he specifically wanted them to be a subversion of the "man-hating savages" myth.
I hope whatever happens next with her in animation or liveaction that she isn't put in a relationship Bats or Sups And that she and the Amazons aren't written as blood thirsty warriors because that's a really shallow way to write them
I still feel it's stupid that people don't really respect her she is literally one of the the strongest heros in DC verse not matter which way you try to turn it around or flip it most of her powers are suppressed an she still beats quite alot of heros. With her bracelets off she is able to pull planets an moons around with ease
Wonder Woman is more or less a blank slate. Her one defining characteristic is that she's an Amazon. Marvel does a much better job leaning into and expanding upon Thor's Norse background.
I've heared a theory. That barbruh turned into a cheetah based on the pattern on high heels that diana had the day they met, only motivation for her to be turned into cheetah in entire movie.
Yeah, um, you don't want to know what her equivalent of Death Superman could have been. Especially since they were thinking about the Breaking of the Bat as a parallel.
Wonder Woman is the member of the Trinity most likely to kill someone. Superman is too nice and to willing to believe in others, and so never kills (except in some Elseworlds or badly written fiction). Batman also believes in giving others a second chance, while also believing that no one man should ever choose who lives or dies. She is a soldier and unwilling to give up in a fight. She is a very complex and interesting character who has not had a lot of good movie outings.
She might be more willing to kill but only in extreme circumstances. The New 52 gave her bad writing because before that she was a very compassionate character instead of just being a warrior
This is so true It actually happens to all female characters in animation and live action when it comes to DC and Marvel Scarlett Johansson gave a Stella performance, his black widow and Iron Man too, and then never got a flushed out backstory until after she died And then they botched that and didn’t even make her a super soldier Harley Quinn got an animated TV show before Wonder woman, and Hawk Girl We’re about to have the hundredth animated iteration of Batman and Superman They also both have multiple franchises of live action movies At least DC gave wonder woman a live action movie Marvel has yet to give one of their female characters and animated series series or live action series Unless the character was licensed by another network DC Titans made Starfire and raven background characters They tried to make it seem like the show was focused on them, but it was really about Dick Grayson Both of these entities have done their female characters very dirty
DC says WW is second to Superman in strength, top 10 fastest heroes and has practiced fighting styles and skills for thousands of years. However, she has never been allowed to showcase her power no matter in comic, games, animated movies and series and even movies. She was taken down by him in 15 seconds in the justice league movie. When Superman punches the whole city crumbles but for her the windows on the street break is at best.…etc They can’t even get this right so what hope do they have?
Not true. In the comic books, like "The Witch And The Warrior" Superman is enhanced to have Doomsday's powers on top of his own and cursed to see Wonder Woman the way Doomsday sees all other life(a threat to be killed). Wonder Woman has her lasso and tiara taken from her before SuperDoomsday is set loose and, well she just fights him. At first she kind of frets for her safety, "I'm going to die" but she takes what he can give, successfully restrains SuperDoomsday and uses her ability talk to animals to have some get her lasso back, using it to undo Circe's spell casting. Her hand gets impaled, her nose bloodied, a bone fractured, but she still takes on stronger than usual Superman without all of her gadgets, and wins. True, it's also stupider than usual Superman, but we were just about strength. She showed it. World's Greatest Superheroes sees Wonder Woman blitz Lady Steel, a villain who successfully dodged when Superman tried to bum rush her. Sure, Lady Steel actually beat Wonder Woman's ass the first time they fought, but since Lady Steel also gave Superman a hard fight it still showed Superman and Wonder Woman are somewhat comparable. Now I know Wonder Woman has plenty of pathetic showings throughout media. Not everyone seems to get the message that she's supposed to be stronger than Hercules and faster than Mercury, but there are some writers who do portray her as one of DC's most powerful. Dead Earth has her well, kill almost all life on Earth, by accident, while trying to stop a nuclear war. She was moving so fast she set the atmosphere on fire anyway!
To be honest, having watched much of the 70s Wonder Woman show - no matter how iconic it is - the villains it used tended to be pretty poor. There were one or two exceptions, but much of Lynda Carter's rogues tended to be regular mob bosses/professional criminals or entitled rich dudes. There were few villains in that show that were really compelling. Even the use of the Nazis as antagonists in that show felt quite cheesey and repetitive. I know it was quite a light hearted show, but still - a great heroine needs serious villains and monsters to challenge her.
Isn’t her strongest version currently the strongest hero in DC currently? Y’know when she bonded with the lasso of truth and beat up the batman who laughs then ascends with the hands. That would technically put her above superman prime considering she basically became apart of the writers at that point
I think that WW main problem with her rogue's gallery is that it lacks a clear core element. Think about it, Superman's main rogues are all classic sci-fi villains: the mad scientist (Toyman and Lex Luthor), the being from another dimension (Mr.Mxyzptlk), the malformed clone (Bizarro), the cyborg (Metallo), the alien that comes to Earth to study us (Brainiac) etc. Batman's villains are all freaks, people that for some reason or another are no more part of the society and that release all their hatred or frustration on it: from Joker to Penguin, from Ra's al Ghul to Black Mask they all fit this description. But WW? Ares, Circe, Eris, Medusa...ok so we have a clear mythology focused rogue's gallery but then you have Dr.Poison, Blue Snowman...ok so we got a bunch of evil scientists that have no relation with mythology then you have characters like Veronica Cale, Giganta or Dr.Psycho that don't fit in neither of the evil scientist or mythology category. I think that what she needs most is a clear focus for her rogues and i would focus on mythology. Yeah there are other characters in DC that deal with other mythologies (like Dr.Fate with the egyptian one) but WW is part of the Trinity, if someone in DC deserves a focus on all mythologies that has to be WW, give her Sobek and Seth from the Egyptian mythology, let her have missions on behalf of Odin or with Anansi, let her go against Tezcatlipoca or Tiamat and so on.
I was watching a yotuber's video on which superhero's and supervillains would be on Mount Rushmore, but instead of only doing an all time MR, he did one for each age of the big two (golden age-modern age). Wonder woman was only on the golden age MR, but through out the other ages she wasn't. Yes she still appeared greatly in DC, but felt almost like a side hero at times. The same thing can be said about with her rogues as they didn't appear on any MR. The only rogue that's arguably as well know as WW is Cheetah and that's mostly thanks to the superfriends cartoon. Heck Spiderman and the X-Men, who came out a 2 decades after WW, have more iconic villains than her, especially Spiderman. So I agree with you in that WW's rogues need some refreshment. The recent issue of Tom king's WW gave a decent line up of who her rouges are, with Ares being the only one whose missing and Cheetah not wanting to be involved I think. But even then, there's only 4 you can be somewhat recognizable. Grail is still recent and Silver Swan, who despite being around longer, has only recently become more prominent.
@@devinhamb6586 well that's another problem of her: the runs. Her Tom King's run is utter shit and pretty much anyone that comes on board bulldozes everything that came before. I'm not american so i don't know if what i'm gonna say it's just due to the fact that i don't live there or something but it's really that difficult to find an american writer that knows his shit when it comes to mythologies? The only famous that came to my mind is Mike Mignola. Silver Swan could be easily related to mythology since one of her various identities was (if i'm not mistaken) related to Leda (it's a long story about a girl named Leda that trasforms herself into a swan). Cheetah too has many different identities that hold the title but i would just keep Minerva's classic origin BUT with her being the "avatar" (Doctor Fate style) of a cheetah related god from Africa (maybe some Yoruba deity)
That makes no sense. Both Batman and Superman have multiple villains that fit OUTSIDE of your stablished themes. A good villain is just one that challenges the hero in interesting ways. THAT'S IT. The "problem with her rogues gallery is that they don't have a lot of adaptations outside of comics. Think about it: MANY heroes have rogues gallery just as diverse and interesting as Batman and Spider-Man (Fastastic Four, Dr. Strange, Green Lantern, Flash, etc.), so are theirs the most popular ones? Simple: EXPOSURE OUTSIDE OF COMICS. Basically, the problem with WW's rogues gallery isn't the rogues themselves, but DC's treatment of them.
@@julio.dealmeidabranconeto5831 Batman and Superman most famous villains all share the common core i displayed. And the other heroes you mentioned too have a core for their villains. Spider-man villains are all people that through their work (Mysterio or Vulture) or by chance (Sandman or Electro) have obtained incredible powers BUT (differently from Spider-man) have decided to use them in the most selfish way possible. The Fantastic Four villains are like Superman's: classic sci-fi villains from the secret underground society (Mole Man), to the conqueror from outer space (Galactus) or the mad scientist (Puppet Master). Dr.Strange enemies instead are all classic magic menaces: the evil sorcerer (Baron Mordo), the evil tyrant from another dimension (Dormammu),a lovecraftian being (Shuma-Gorath) and so on for the others.

For the romance aspect i haven't read the original Marston's run but i always thought that if she has to be with someone that has to be Steve Trevor.
Something that feels weird to me about Wonder Woman, why not make a Wonder Girl, who's one of the Bana Mighdall Amazons? Like we've got Donna Troy, the Wonder Woman clone made by the Titans to overthrow the gods, Demigoddess Cassandra Sandsmark, and Yara Flor, but nothing for the Bana Mighdall, even though Nubia's kinda interesting. I mean just knowing that there's a group of nomadic Amazons who've probably had an impact on World History, and we don't get to see one of them as Wonder Girl.

Don't know what was happening in the Superman books but she apparently needed training that Diana also couldn't give on account of dying/being dead)

The animated Wonder woman movie is actually my favorite movie from 2009. Which is kind of crazy when you look back on all the really great movies that were out on the big screen during that year.
absolutely
So true, along with the justice league animated series wonder woman voiced by Susan as Diana is also amazing. However I feel as if they wouldn't want to use the 2009 version and personality for a new wonder woman because even though she was open minded and valiant she still held strong negative views against the opposite sex based on the teachings by her mother.
I feel like nobody ever mentions that oml, I loved that they not only show cased her but we also saw more of the amazons to
After the first Wonder Woman movie you would think there'd be Wonder- mania. You'd think they'd be more comics, a cartoon, games, toys, etc. Guess WB is not as "woke" as people thought.
WB is just allergic to Money
@Terminal_Apotos That makes no sense. Maybe out of touch with reality but certainly into money.
But WB wants to shove Harley Quinn down our throat
"Wonder Woman should NOT be slept on." That about sums it up. DCU Wonder Woman and Monolith's WW game needs to deliver in all seriousness.

10:45 she did killed lord maxwell and most of the heroes were pissy about it even it it was 100% the right thing to do at the moment.
To be fair, JLU , JLA and Gal Gadot's WW are the only mainstream versions that I feel have been done right.
A lot of others portray her as a misandrist and/or a complete monster conviced of her own justice. (Injustice WW in particular is basically the real villain of that elseworld story)
Those versions are all shallow
I agree, like dude, her character is compassion, not anti-male or some villain. I hate Injustice as a whole just for portraying her like that.

Imagine what you could do with a green lantern game with all that fascinating lore and those powers you have so many game play possibilities.

Gail Simone is so right! But i think that can be the idea behind all DC comics to be honest. Like every new writer is a new take.

It was shown that she was also directly linked to the titans of legend who gave her new powers as troia. Under john Byrne she was a magical clone golem of wonder woman etc Its all confusing because of all DC characters, Donna troy is the key to the lost multi verse. I love WW fine ass. I hope we get an animated series in the future.
There are several characters that DC has no idea what to do with. Wonder Woman is one of them.
The way Donna died is just disrespectful, wth.

Great point about directors being given full creative control and going off the rails.

Never enough batman

The Superman/Wonder Woman relationship was great. It really doesn't deserve the hate it gets.
It does.
I agree. I liked it.
I agree with most of your points. However, I do prefer WW and Superman being together.
Yeah.
I liked the Superman - Wonder Woman relationship. They are ideal for each other. Trevor is nothing but a male damsel in distress and Lois Lane is annoying.
I agree with you and accept your opinion.
Diana with Clark is really the best romance for her. If DC would stop getting in it's own way and JUST LET IT WORK it would be their most popular romance by far. It puts them where they belong. Together as the Mother & Father of Superheroes.
The only good love interest for her whose name starts with C is Cheetah.
I can be on board with that.
2:23 lego dc supervillians is good
You did her more justice than DC ever will.
Omg I found my tribe. Wonder Woman is absolutely too neglected for me.
Gal is actually much younger than people probably think. She could easily mix with a late 30s Batman.
Things like:
01: More villains, give Diana at least 10 new villains, and make it diverse so "no more gods or amazon related" villains, give Diana some crazy scientists, some evil rich villains, B and C villains, and people that can show up every week, not some Big Powerful God that Diana will fight once every 10 years to stop some big crisis.
Diana has hyper focus and monopoly over the Amazons, it's time for DC to start giving space to the Amazons in stories that have nothing to do with Diana, and Diana needs more lore elements that are completely separate from the Amazons and Themyscira
06: Nemesis, Diana dont have a real Nemesis, like Luthor/Joker, give her one.
Who knows, maybe the first movie have the right idea, "Kill Steve" make his dead one of Diana key lore events, give her development, and after some time try something with new romantic option
make that and maybe you have enough to really build more material around her, like cartoons and games.
I REALLY WANT TO BE WRITING THE JUSTICE LEAGUE BUT THEY STUCK ME ON THE WONDER WOMAN BOOK!"
The Amazons, even more so than the gods, are why Diana has a job.
My point about territory is about how make way easier to write Diana's stories if she has a fix place, Themyscira is fun but has way too much restrictions, is a secret magic island with only amazons and they are 99,9% good people. iving Diana a city like Washington for example, will make it easier for the writer to build around, just like Batman and Superman,
About key lore points, lets give examples.
If James Gunn or whoever directs the DCU Wonder Woman movie does a good job it can carry over to other media just like the guardians of the galaxy or Peacemaker did
And I hope for the love of god that she doesn't date batman or Superman i really really hate that
However they should just stick to Steve Trevor and make him her Lois Lane
I think that Wonder Woman and Batman is better than Clark and Diana. She would be really healthy for Bruce. But I can't forget Steve Trevor, in the 50/50 chance he's in the universe. Wonder Woman works best as the gentle, compassionate heroine of my childhood.
But for real, though. Never let New 52 cook again
Idc about wonder woman, but diana as memeber of immortal warriors and daughter of greek god zues and her fomic lore is awesome.
@@Bebop8ubby never cook again
I hope whatever happens next with her in animation or liveaction that she isn't put in a relationship Bats or Sups
And that she and the Amazons aren't written as blood thirsty warriors because that's a really shallow way to write them
I still feel it's stupid that people don't really respect her she is literally one of the the strongest heros in DC verse not matter which way you try to turn it around or flip it most of her powers are suppressed an she still beats quite alot of heros. With her bracelets off she is able to pull planets an moons around with ease
I agree but you know who deserves even more respect.. Starfire
Wonder Woman is more or less a blank slate. Her one defining characteristic is that she's an Amazon. Marvel does a much better job leaning into and expanding upon Thor's Norse background.
L opinion
I've heared a theory. That barbruh turned into a cheetah based on the pattern on high heels that diana had the day they met, only motivation for her to be turned into cheetah in entire movie.
Yeah, um, you don't want to know what her equivalent of Death Superman could have been. Especially since they were thinking about the Breaking of the Bat as a parallel.
3:30 theres the lego batman/justice league games and also DC online, but yeah she deserves her own game
@@kingjj8115 indeed. Like I said, she is a very complex and interesting character who has not had a lot of good movie outings.
@trevynlane8094 She only has 2 live action movies. Only the first one was good.
This is so true
It actually happens to all female characters in animation and live action when it comes to DC and Marvel
Scarlett Johansson gave a Stella performance, his black widow and Iron Man too, and then never got a flushed out backstory until after she died
And then they botched that and didn’t even make her a super soldier
Harley Quinn got an animated TV show before Wonder woman, and Hawk Girl
We’re about to have the hundredth animated iteration of Batman and Superman
They also both have multiple franchises of live action movies
At least DC gave wonder woman a live action movie Marvel has yet to give one of their female characters and animated series series or live action series
Unless the character was licensed by another network
DC Titans made Starfire and raven background characters
They tried to make it seem like the show was focused on them, but it was really about Dick Grayson
Both of these entities have done their female characters very dirty
She lost that power when going to Valhalla Wonder Woman: realms
Great video. Keep it up!
@@Timepilot94 i don't know about the brazilian retcon, cheetahs aren't exactly the typical brazilian animal that comes to mind while for Dr.Poison and Blue Snowman i don't know, the last time someone pissed off Demeter he got turned into a barn owl not a robotic snowman.
Artemis was Wonder Woman once, twice if you count reboots/different versions of the main universe or whatever the hell DC does with continuity resets.
every dc animation, movies, i watch i alwas waiting for her cameo😅
how does Wonder woman doesnt have an animated show whilst Harley has 4 seasons?
