TITANS is An AWFUL DC Show…

- DC's Titans serves as an adaptation of the Teen Titans roster of characters from DC Comics, including Dick Grayson as Robin, then Nightwing, Raven, Starfire, Wonder Girl, Superboy, Tim Drake, and many others. The series features the first-ever live-action adaptation of Jason Todd as Red Hood, providing a further exploration into the mythos of the Batman Family. Season 3 does a questionable job of adapting the Red Hood persona. Other Red Hood adaptations include Gotham Knights, Batman: Arkham Knight, and the animated movie Under the Red Hood. The Teen Titans will be getting their own feature film in James Gunn's DCU, so it will be interesting how this show will hold up in the future.

what’s makes it even worse is that a lot of the actors are cast greatly and suits look very high budget but the writing brings everything down .
I agree. The writing is so bad. Like it's meant to be writing for mature audience but instead a horny teen wrote it.
But even some of the suits show how much they don’t care, because Nightwing’s suit is bulky as hell and wouldn’t work for his fighting style….except the show doesn’t care about how Dick Grayson is suppose fight!
That's the things with CW dc shows majority actors got good talent but bad storywriters
not all of them but yeah
@xxcatox I agree most CW lead actors were generally very good actors that could have just benefited from better writing and a higher budget to work with
A superhero show where everyone on the team hates each other and they all kill people but only without guns, shooting is a rule breaker.
Even The Boys had nice characters.
@@mayotango1317 ???? debatable

Hughie is _kinda_ good, I guess? And Butcher's ex-wife, maybe.
@HELLO_KORO
And half of those killed people, are cops. And yet they're "heroes."
@@MarvinPowell1 What about Starlight? I'm not exactly catching up with seasons 3 and 4.
The Batman in this show could’ve just been Alfred instead 😭
ahaha yup😃😃🥲

Thats exactly how i felt when i first saw him on screen lmao
damn that was shady😭😭
Batman was horribly casted.
It's kinda funny how Titans was by far the worst original show from the DC Universe streaming service even though it was the most popular franchise. Stargirl, Swamp Thing and especially Doom Patrol were all very good while Titans was just... embarrassing lmao
Agreed, it felt like something you'd find on the CW, but with more swearing
What’s even funnier about this is that Stargirl premiered and continued on the CW while Titans was definitely more CW quality.
@@Lismism2023- No, *Stargirl* season 1 aired on the DC Universe, not the CW. Season 2 & 3 aired on the CW, though

@@Lismism2023 - No, *Stargirl* aired first on the DC Universe, and then aired the next day heavily edited on the CW
They had to remove 15 min of footage for the first episodes, because the CW wanted to add 15 min of extra publicity, and possibly to remove the more shocking scene & making certain episodes PG...
I don't know I haven't watched the neutered season 1 on HBO, just read online which scenes were cut in the first episodes and was appalled.
They filmed one hour episodes for the DC Universe, and then 24h after it has aired they remove 15 min of footage so it can air on the CW? What a mess.
It's such a shame that this show got the same treatment than the really crappy shows, instead of getting the *Superman & Lois* extra season 4.
Here’s what I think was the biggest problems with the show:
1) The writers behind the show were so focused on wanting to be this dark and edgy adaptation bc they way too reliant on the fact that they could get away with anything bc it was meant for streaming.
2) The roster, specifically trying to use the 2003 cartoon roster, didn’t work because of the budget and constraints they had. Because the 2003 is so popular they used it as a way to get people to watching the show. Especially when Kori, Racheal, and Gar gets pushed to the sideline in favor of characters like Hawk, Dove, Donna Troy, Jason Todd, and Superboy.
3) The pacing was all over the place.
4) The show didn’t feel like it wanted to be a titans show but rather a Nightwing show or Batman related project.
well i think it took more adaptation from the 2003 comics series by Geoff Johns, as Ravager's relationship is explored a lot within the series, and Superboy being a clone of luthor and superman is from that comic. The comic itself also pushed away beast boy, cyborg, raven and starfire, because they were suppose to be the mentors of the newer members (At the time, beast boy, cyborg, raven and starfire were far from teens).
@@TheBPDL I feel like they were trying to combine the NTT era and the Geoff Johns era but they didn’t write it very well
true its sad... i liked season 2 a lot tho, but the rest of it...@@xanderg.1070
@@xanderg.1070funny thing is, is that Geoff John’s was producer I believe during this time. Or head of DC films department, not entirely sure but he was high up on the ladder over at DC.
And imo the Geoff John’s run of titans is alright, it’s nothing crazy to me but not bad either. Just average, which is unfortunate considering he is my favorite DC writer. But his position was probably why this show tried pulling a lot of from his era while trying to combine it with Marv Wolfman and George Perez ‘s run
5) no kid flash💔
The amount of "fuck" was so high that for a while after binging this show, I stopped saying "fuck" because I was so tired of that word
They’re so edgy….
Hell, I was told to watch it because apparently Robin smashed a dude’s face into a car window and rubbed his face in the broken glass…..
Seems rather edgy then impactful or relevant…..
I really hate when “new fans” try to tell me I’m wrong because I don’t like this garbage. Sorry, but I got my interest into the whole scene from hearing about, reading, and watching stories that I’ve come to realize….are reveled as some of the greatest stories from the comic scene.
Too many people hopping on the bandwagon….they seem to think that when the names of these comic entities are on the show, it must be good. I’m fed up with excuse after excuse, but I’m given no valid reason on how the show is significant or even good for that matter.
There’s decades of stories, games, and characters to FOLLOW and adapt to live-action if that’s the whole point….yet they want to do “their own thing”.
Well, unless you made a story that was enjoyed by fans from all over….maybe reconsider, ya know?
These shows are garbage though. Maybe I’m just a “grandpa”, or maybe I’m just not willing to waste my time watching some drama with a hint of violence and super heroes to it?
@@noobie1890 No you r not a grandpa This show is genuinely sh*t a disgrace for DC or as a stand alone If anyone likes this they are out of their mind or never consumed any of actual good DC content. I would rather watch every season of Teen Titans GO! or just stare at the wall for hours

@samflood5631 honestly, I couldn't care less about either. Not interested in their "adult animation" when a kids show like JLU does a better job diving into mature themes without all the crude humor. Don't feel like there's really a point to these shows.
@@DavidMartinez-ce3lp Ok, but I feel like these shows are a bit more tolerable to watch than The Titans.
Never will cease to be stupid how wonder girl died from an electric shock like bruh you an amazon. You telling me wonder woman can eat electric shocks that can power a city and you die from a lamp pole is CRAZY. Another thing with this show the team deadass dispands every season
They confused Starfire with Firestar.
Another youtuber, when reviewing this show, described it as "the show not knowing what it is, and not knowing where its going" and I feel like that is the best description I have ever heard when it comes to this series. It feels like DC was coming out with this live streaming service and wanted stuff to put on there, so it threw together this show last minute and hoped it would be enough to get people to subscribe.
If I had a subscription and saw that show I would imiedietly do the opossite 💀💀💀💀
Why did they dress Starfire like that?? 😭😭 Shein type clothing.

Here’s a list of problems with The Titans
1. The characters are all unlikeable.
2. Trying way too hard to be dark and edgy.
3. A lot of fan favorite DC villains and heroes were butchered.
4. The Pacing is a mess.
5. The heroes do nothing but angst about their problems.
6. The costumes look cheap.
7. Beast Boy’s powers were also butchered.
8. A lot of death scenes were stupid.
9. Over use of the dark cinematography where it’s hard to see.
10. The fight scenes are mediocre.
11. The heroes always end up breaking the number 1 rule, never kill a bad guy.
12. It did not respect the source material.
13. The over use of swearing, especially the F word.

That's exactly what I said when I was like 8 or 12 or whatever and my parents friends said The Dark Knight was dark so I responded yeah I couldn't see anything
The sad thing is DC isn’t even that dark. Zack Snyder and stuff like this show has painted it that way.
@@kidcourage5777True, I remember people saying that DC is dark, while Marvel is light hearted. But honestly that was bc of the movies that were released at the time. If anything it’s kinda the other way around in the comics
@@xanderg.1070I wouldn’t say it’s the other way around. It just depends on the stories and characters that are being adapted. And that goes for both companies. DC being dark and Marvel being lighthearted and comedic was always a fallacy/myth. Only real fans of both brands know that.

They should have just made a Robin show because clearly that's what they had the budget for.....But I guess most people would flock to a Teen Titans show, but this ain't our Titans
I agree with everything here. Like how they built up Blackfire as an irredeemable villain in Season 2 only to flip it around the next, like the writers couldn't make up their minds, and instead made her a product of bad parenting and unfair treatment from her people.

I’m so glad people are starting to realize how bad this show was. Which sucked because it had ssooooo much potential but only got worse as it went on.
Doom Patrol was 100x better with like half the budget.
The best thing about this show was Esai Morales as Deathstroke. Masterful casting.
It was so edgy. What got me was how schizophrenic Dick was. He has hallucinations every other episode.
I mean there's a scene Jason Todd shoots Dick in the head with the gun that killed the Waynes.
IM LAUGHING OUT LOUD OMFGGGG
Yeah, in the Wolfman run, Dick suffers from depression, but doesn't have the sort of hallucinations.
The show is slightly better if you abandon Fanon!Dick. Leave the always happy, kind of slutty version of Dick for AO3.
It was trigon possessing Jason
Ehmm that wasn’t Dick having a hallucination, that was alternate realities planted in every members’ brain by Trigon??
I would’ve preferred a solo Dick Grayson/Robin show honestly. Have him move to a new city (most likely Jump City) as a bid to distance himself from Batman, and form his own identity. He becomes a police detective, determined to continue his crusade against crime from a “healthier” angle. He soon realizes that there’s only so much detective Grayson can do, and that Robin will have to take it all the way. It could’ve been a gritty street level action thriller with neo noir detective overtones. Slade Wilson could’ve been the main series villain. One of Grayson’s colleagues could grow close to him, subsequently causing them to become suspicious of who he really is, what he does during the late hours of the night. I’d pay good money to see something like that.
This feels like something from the Snyderverse but even more awful with a Arrowverse budget and yet the Arrowverse looks better thank god the Gunn DCU will have a Titans movie to wash this garbage out our mouths
James Gunn is one of the few people who seem to take a group of “heroes” and people who don’t belong together, and makes it work.
There’s a big difference between the Suicide Squad we got with Will Smith, versus Jame’s Gunn’s.
He’s the only reason Marvel had people go to theaters again too. I mean, let’s be honest….the GOTG are the only thing that was good after Endgame.
You can tell me the final Spider-Man movie was good, but guess what….it’s nostalgia bait. It’s only meant to be seen in theaters amongst other fans.
Studios have forgotten that we want ENTERTAINMENT, not shitty ideas that have been rehashed and shat back out.
Make Media Great Again, am I right?
Snyderverse is goated and masterpeice for me
i don't care about opinion
Cyborg, Raven, Starfire, Terminator, Ravenger, Vigilante and so many others were created for "the Teen Titans" for the 1980s comic series. To not have callously toss Cyborg over to Doom Patrol and not have him part of this series was just stupid. To introduce Starfire and Raven to maybe a bunch of first-timers, and have them done so poorly (not the fault of casting) was sad. Raven is such a deep character on the page, but literally everything about her is "discovered" so quickly with no gradual development. This was a great group to make a series out of because they have such rich back stories and layered character aspects. They just blew it in such a massive way. I hope James Gunn stays true to the 1980s books and doesn't go all goofy with any of the characters with any "Boo Yah" garbage or like what he did with Vigilante in Peacemaker.
SHOT by Scarecrow? Did the SSKTJL writers also write Titans? Would Scarecrow use a gun?
The worst writing I saw was in Batwoman, but I skipped this so...
Yeah I was thinking that, Scarecrow with a gun sounds SO out of character.
Well, Scarecrow using a gun was a thing back in the Golden Age of comics
Yeah this titans adaptation really did my favorite team in dc comics dirty badly really badly which is a shame because this is the teen titans it shouldn’t be this hard to adapt my favorite team in the dc comics universe but they butchered my favorite team in live action with this show at least in my opinion.
Titans was perfect at coming up w the most interesting premises w the worst execution imaginable, it’s like the writers purpose was to just tease the audience w silver linings here and there just to piss us off even more by the final episode, I stopped after season 3 bc it was just too unbearable, this and Young justice season 4 made me lose faith in WB

It was still a HORRIBLE show show either way
I remember the exact moment I quit watching. Beast Boy is a naturally charismatic and fun character, and every time he just is that in the show, the show grabs him by the ankles and forcibly drags him down to their level. He says how he doesn't think his powers are a curse and actually enjoys the feeling of being able to turn into a tiger? How about their attempt to break into a facility gets botched, and Gar is forced to kill a person after being forced into a cage in his tiger form? He and Raven actually go through organic progression? How about Gar gets jumped by all the Titans who're corrupted by Trigon? Gar is having a Home Alone situation where everyone has left the Tower, so he's just trying to have fun by himself while also babysitting Superboy? How about he gets kidnapped by Cadmus, and the next scene we see him, his skull is cut open as someone starts poking his brain to make him feel whatever emotions they want him to? Oh, also they condition him to eat Raven if she says an exact sequence of phrases by having him eat an innocent person saying those phrases as training?
The stupidest thing, for me, in the series was that at some point you see a tombstone of Nightwing and it says "Dick" on it... As if the creators didn't know his name was Richard.
Ok honestly..... WHY is dicks name richard actually. Why do they call him dick grayson if his name is actually richard grayson
My whole confusion with this series was why did they take a character like Dove. A character known for being very slow to violence seeing it as the last resort and her first instinct is to butcher and maim people?
Cosplayers can do a better job than the costume designers/make up department. Also also hate it when stuff gets adapted the have to drastically change the core elements of what makes these characters likable. It comes a cross as let me tell my own version of these characters. I don't need the source material
It’s called being lazy….hell, an hour long TH-cam video will cover the context they need to make the characters WORK.
You know they’ve fucked up when they can’t even get fans to rally behind popular and favorited characters. It’s like messing with a child’s favorite hero….it’s unnecessary and uncalled for.
Show some respect if you’re making a movie developed characters, or MAKE YOUR OWN.
Theres no beast boy

Or the Green Tiger.
To me and this is coming from a loyal DCTV fan going back to the 90s this is by far one of the worst DC adaptations on TV I've seen. Sure not all of it was bad but the storytelling was by far not as good. Sure the other modern DCTV shows had their issues but for me Titans is right up their with Batwoman as far as the worst DCTV show over the past decade plus.
I agree with your point. Very much. But this whole “Since the 90’s” thing was forced af. The only DCTV shows in the 90s were two live action shows, those being Lois & Clark The new adventures of Superman. And The Flash, which only ended up being 1 season. The rest were animated. The standouts being Batman Beyond, Batman the animated series and Superman the animated series. Which are cartoons, (fire ones at that.) the other ones (which are also animated) were Swap Thing and Wild Cats. So you trying to add credibility to your statement by saying “Going back to the 90’s” is just so cringey. You have no content or material to go off of from the 90s. You don’t have to lie to prove your point my brotha.
They should have never introduced Jason Todd. The show was written to lead to "moments" versus just telling a story arc. I noticed when Geoff Johns writes or is included in the writing of the stories they all are just moments. He helped with WW84 and if you watch that film all scenes are just there to lead to "moments". The show was terribly written.
Y'all we ain't ever getting Tim in an adaptation again 😭
I don’t think they’ll do him in the dcu either 😂😂😂
If we do, they will always mainly highlight his relationship with Bernard. XD LOL
I feel like it tried to be too dark and I hate the way they treated the characters especially Aqualad by killing him off so early, if they continued it could’ve been a lot better
Season 3 was the only chance it had at being good, we could've had Titans fighting a whole alien army but we got meany gas man instead.
Aqualad's powers would've cost money (seriously I think that's why they killed him. They only have money for one green tiger)
The best thing they did with Titans in my opinion was Deathstroke , Esai Morales as Deathstroke was great way too good for Titans like the actor really elevated this show when he was in it.
Raven was also pretty good I liked the earlier parts of the show with just her and Robin. Decent acting performance and I guess the actress was cute too lol
Agreed,deathstrokes actor was FANTASTIC
I didn't think he looked like him. Better makeup, hair and a little more orange in his suit would be good. He really only served when he was in the suit and mask.
Oh god what did they do to Bernard? Of all the character choices they’ve made, turning a character who’s supposed to be Tim’s school friend turned love interest into a grown man but still keeping the romance is one of the absolute worst. I can forgive a lot of bad writing but jesus christ…
Fun fact: the writer for the Titans show was also the writer for the live action Green Lantern movie (who "coincidentally" wrote comic book runs for those two respective series).

I don’t know much about Hawk and Dove outside of there appearance in Justice League unlimited but why are they even on this team? They have no superpowers, are extremely obscure characters that no one knows or cares about and are the arguably two most annoying and toxic characters on the show.
Well in the comics it started has a duo of brothers who were given a wish and Hawk made the rash decision to get back at the people who has trapped them and so the being gave them the ability to become almost an expert at everything they can do so for example the og Dove was a swimmer so with his powers his became amazing at swimming it was actually really cool because it gave them a reason to become better because as they got better at something so did their powers. They had a cross over with the titans ver early in like their 4 or 5th issue as the Teen Titans and they became very close to the titans.Later I believe Don/Dive either retired or died I think died and so Hawk met a woman who became Dove

Well we all know that Gorham Knights and Batwoman is the worst DC shows.
When i watched this show i spent several episodes going "is that starfire" and "are we sure that's starfire" because I was geunly so confused
I gave up at the start of season 4. Clearly this was written by people who know nothing about DC comics.
If this is the only live action version of Tim Drake I ever get. I’m going to be so incredibly depressed.
As someone who gets tired of TH-camr constantly shitting on everything that’s comic book related or Star Wars related because I think sometimes the hate is just there before reactors even saw it. People want to hate things now I’m convinced of that. This show deserves all the Hate gets.
I actually like the actors they chose to portray the Titans, but the writing, and the dialogue for this show is got awful. It’s worse than the last two or three seasons of Mayans.
And I really wanted to like this show because so many of the other DC shows like Stargirl and the doom patrol were so good and as far as the comics go, I’ve always been a fan of the Titans, but this show just doesn’t know what it wants to do.
How many times can Dick Grayson pull the group together and then the next two episodes at the end of the following two episodes he’s like “I need to do this by myself” and then he abandon the group and then the group is crying behind him saying they really need him and so they follow him to where he’s going and then they get the group together again only for in the next season to do the exact same thing.
Season three is really where I just gave up and didn’t care and didn’t watch anymore and the reason it made me mad was because season three actually started off differently and I liked it and thought they were going somewhere different with season three and then we got to the episode with Hawk . And that was one of the stupidest decisions they could’ve made the way they ended him. They started having these characters do things that they would never do in the comics and they were just doing it for shock value because they had no clue on where they wanted the writing to go. Whoever wrote these episodes never needs to write anything again. Find a new career you suck at your job, because the writing on this show is atrocious.
What do you think the teen titans is going to be like in James Gunn DC projects in the DCU since we already got Jamie Reyes Blue_Beetle and we're getting Damian Wayne Robin also what do you think the other members like Kid Flash, Beast Boy, Starfire, Raven, Nightwing and so on are going to be like?
Would be cool if they did a Godfather 2 style requel where we see the original Teen Titans with a young Dick Greyson, Star Fire, Beast Boy and Cyborg and Star Fire and a new team led by Star Fire and Nightwing with Tim Drake, Blue Beetle, Cassie Sandsmark and Bart Allen.
starfire's starbolts were originally pink/magenta in the 80s/90s and orange/yellow in the 2000s the greenbolts came from the cartoons which isnt hard canon when it comes to her character she's unaccustomed to most things but picks up the language pretty quickly she would speak as if english wasnt the only language she'd speak but not completely broken as a quirk like the cartoon its not that big of an off thing but yea the writers were too focused on the batfamily instead of making an actual titans show im just waiting for them to get an animated series thats faithful one day
Compare it to Young Justice where the last two seasons got a bit woke. Racially reinventing a lot of characters, which wasn't bad on its own, but then you make nonbinary heroes, add polyamory, more LGBT storylines, give us a Static but barely use him and focus on Blue Beatle that nobody liked. I appreciated the story they tried to tell here. And don't get me started on Swamp Thing, Stargirl, Teen Titans Go, and Arrow after season 2. There were a lot of other projects that got out of hand from DC.
Jason becoming red hood has nothing to do whit the titans
have you seen guardian hqs video from about a month ago? he did a similar thing, but focused more on the tv show aspects and less about the comic accuracy. is there a reason why titans has gotten more attention recently? i havent watched any of that side of dc so i have no idea.
So Basically:
"I HATE YOU ALL And Am Sure you all the Same way. Let's Team up."
"And Manipulate A Kid into Killing his pops and Then be Mad at You for it even though We all Agreed on it at the time"
"Sure!"
im still mad af they didnt get some fine ass brazilian girl to play starfire. if they had done that i couldve ignored everything.
The raven actress was fine and did a good performance so there's that. Other than that I didn't really like anything
The writers of these types of shows, should consult the old-time comic writers, because modern writers suck. The screwed up every character in the show, especially Dick Grayson. Nightwing is one of the most respected heroes in the DC Universe, he's the ultimate leader and the one that Batman trusts and respects the most. I've had Teen Titans books in the late 60's and the early 70's. When they were revived in 1980, they created Raven, Starfire and Cyborg and added Changeling (Beast Boy) to the team. The writers were excellent back then, modern writers just don't have that creativity and write crap like this show. I won't get into the mess they made of Hawk and Dove.
How come we never got members like Kid Flash in this series?
Because the CW Flash was still going. WB doesn't like multiple versions of characters running around because they think we can't tell the difference.
It’s because a different studio already had dibs on kid flash’s IP and borrowing him would cost too much.
Crossover type series are pain in the butt, because the use of each character that is not original to the series has to be negotiated.. Which is why you sometimes get characters that are clearly a certain character, but officially not the character.
I think we would have gotten him as in the deleted finale for season 1 Donna had mentioned wally
This show can’t even afford to have Beast Boy transform into more than 2 animals. No way in hell were they gonna do Wally.
Dude like literally EVERY single season Starfire is trying to discover who she is and how her powers work. Starfire never actually becomes Starfire
you definetly missed the last season
To be fair og comics Starfire was waaaay different from the cartoon, her energy blast wasn't even green. Emotions are very important for tamaranians, so they don't hide them, they speak what comes to their minds, so when Starfire is mad, she is MAAAD, she threats to kill and she tries to. Starfire from the cartoon is a totally different character, so is kinda wild to use her as the original source.
2:18 Curran’s acting in this scene was SO good, I forgot how bad the show was for half a second.
Mfs saw Starfire's name ended in fire and took it to heart lmao
They made Tim Drake a victim and not of the joker but of a pedo and i hated every second and dropped it the second it happened (Tim was 16-17 and his "boyfriend" is 30)
I would also like hollywood and other companies to just stop shooting scenes in the dark, cutting to a new shot every fraction of a split second, being so up close and with shaky cam!
Titans s2 was some of the most nonsensical trash I have ever seen in any sort of media. Everything in that had no sort of logic, it’s a superhero show where they fight NOTHING that isn’t directly their fault (deathstroke ONLY comes back cause he warned Dick not to bring the titans together again), or literally themselves( man they made deathstroke die in an empty street to then make the final boss be superboy and beastboy?????), OR normal people( they break into a prison to rescue Dick and beat the shit out of guards that were doing their jobs, JUST TO FIND OUT DICK HAD ALREADY ESCAPED AND LEFT A MESSAGE TO I DONT KNOW WHO SINCE HE DIDNT KNOW THEY WERE COMING). Really how could someone with an actual brain write and then film something like that?!?!?
All the unnecessary cussing took its toll on me. Its like they were happy they could drop the f bomb constantly. The writing was terrible...i tried watching it with an open mind and i just couldn't do it. It was that bad and I'm a person rhat liked birds of prey. I dont know wtf they were doing with Jason, Starfire or Superboy. They were all over the place...this show was mainly about Robin. Should have been Robin and his Superfriends. This show was straight trash and im glad it was finally cancelled. They cancelled Swamp Thing for rhis crappy Titans show? Swamp Thing was so good they just ignored the fans and went with this terrible show...smh.
They needed to paint Beast Boy Green and Starfire Orange.
Nope I want a black starfire not an orange one
@@Starfirelordnsavor same actors just paint them. She’s an orange alien it doesn’t have to be about race.
Chile that wig was downright sabotage against her poor actress
But starfire and blackfire are orange aliens from Tameran so they should be orange and best boy is green skinned @joshuathomas7041
@@Starfirelordnsavor so you don’t want Starfire then. Shes orange, not black. It’s that simple. That’s like saying you want Gamora to be black and not green.
The problem that I had with Titans that i don’t miss at ALL is that it would start off good and then completely fall off because of lazy and horrible writing. Aside from the fact that the characters are so different from their original adaptations.
I think Gotham knights (2023) is worse.
Make a batman show with the only bat family member being Stephine Brown.
Yeah no I very much disagree. At least GK was Elseworlds and knew what it wanted to be with the story it told. Titans is a hot mess of larger plot holes, arcs that went nowhere and didnt know what it wanted to be.
My conspiracy theory is that Turner Hayes was originally SUPPOSED to be Tim Drake, but they weren’t allowed to call him that because of Titans.
Meh.. atleast gk made the batfamily have a good bond.
@@ECKohns Oh great another batman imbargo...
@M Enterprises Would you say that DC Titans is like way worse than 20th Century Fox/20th Century Studios X-Men Universe Franchise?
I went to elementary school and was friends with the guy who plays Beast Boy (Ryan Potter) the show might be shit but I'm happy for him
thats really cool actually
In my mind this is the Weakest Link of all the DC Live Series that has so much potential but it was completely wasted.
I think the budget was the main issue like seriously they couldn't afford to body paint starfire orange and beastboy green let alone show flashy CGI powers 😭. Same goes for the writing I feel they hired low budget writers who wrote CW shit. The only good thing I found in the show was the actress who played Raven.
Also non dc fans get engaged to watch, I literally showed this to my friend who doesn’t know nothing about dc and she loved the show, mean while I had to lie my self that I liked it for the first two seasons
Thank you for not bringing Tim's sexuality just to complain about it but to actually make a point
I completely despised this show for what it was.
Gar had more chemistry with Superboy on 1 episode then he did with Rachel in 4 seasons💀💀💀
Excellent video, as much as the recent mcu shows get bashed this show was worse to me. So a few random problem i had with it. Every member was a murderer, its hard to believe dick was trained by batman as his tactics were the end of game of thrones bad. Somehow a 20 cops are able to give the team the business while superboy is with them. Dick leaves Superboy poisoned with kryptonite, donna dies to lighting but also lasso's lighting bolt out of the sky. Superboy blows up a spaceship 10 feet away from two of his teammates and a regular human and its barely even mentioned. hell the only great character was Krypto.
Somebody doesn’t read the comics Starfire’s star bolts weren’t turned green until at least the last decade due to the popularity of the teen titans show
All i know from this show is "F this","F that","F Batman", "F them", "F him", "F you", that's all i remember form this show, it should have been called "F Titan's".
Man I wish they did a Nightwing TV show instead same actor. In bludhaven trying to figure what kind of hero he is and seeing his rogues gallery
I thought Megan Fitzmartin did a bad job on Tim Drake and yet here I am forced to eat my words
Titans is A LOT worse than it should be. However, "worst DC show" is just a very high (low?) bar.
Personally, I'd say Batwoman, Flash, and Supergirl are all significantly worse.
Flash was kinda good? Like until season 5 the show was good.supergirl at least HAD ITS MOMENTS. Batwoman and titans are pure dogshit
@@jalajaamarnath3611 I mean...there's certainly a measure of subjectivity. Personally, I had all I could take of Flash losing because of dumb scripts by the end of the first season. Supergirl had more upside but at its worst was just horrifying. I'm not actually gonna defend Titans because at its best it was merely watchable. Like I said, CW sets a very low bar. Even Arrow, which is about the best they had to offer, had plenty of bad writing and burnt out after season 4 or so.
I nominate Gotham Knights (tv series) for the top spot.
@@jalajaamarnath3611 nah Flash was dodgy even in S1 and Supergirl was peak cringe from the start (At least Melissa Benoist is hot I guess)
A lot of it was Geoff Johns adding his own retcons (Superboy having Lex also as a donor, the Church of Blood worshiping Trigon) and a few things from the New 52 (Jason training Tim, when there's no way that could've happened in any other continuity, or even really on Titans, since Jason is supposed to be dead).
I knew it!
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING drew me into this show, and I always thought it should have been an origin trilogy MOVIE with Deathstroke as the main villain.
We heard that they going to make a proper live action teen Titans move. Where beast boy is fully green , Damian Wayne as Robin, with good Starfire, Dick Grayson already as Nightwing and more.
What’s wrong with titans starfire??
@@Starfirelordnsavorshe’s black instead of orange (and this is coming from a black girl lol), and she’s not a super awesome, sometimes confused space warrior princess in the titans show🤷🏾♀️. Raven is my favorite titan, but Starfire has always held a special place in my heart. The girl they have in this show is NOT Starfire #notmystarfire #riot #blackisnottheneworange
I get that the orange thing is due to the studio not have enough mula 💰, but getting the character so wrong is on the writers
@@Starfirelordnsavor she's cool and all, but they going to make her more better.
@@Starfirelordnsavor She sucked. Doesn't look or act anything like the comics. I thought she was the worst casting choice.
I love Anna Diop she was never a problem for me. The problem is the lack of Teen Titans anywhere.. this is some made up Teen Titans from some fanboy.
0:56 nah, that ain’t Starfire, that’s planet ice
What nobody seems to mention anymore, is that DC is only somewhat dark in direct comparison to the MCU. Warner Bros have this obsession with making everything they own dark and grim. They even tried it with the later Harry Potter movies. The Titans comics aren't that dark. Or like, at all. Justice League, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman......Nothing is grim dark. I wish they would stop it, and make a direct adaptation of Teen Titans cartoon from 2003. This just wasn't it. And Batman would never quit. Terrible writing. Just terrible.
I mean if we're just talking about the comics both Marvel and DC have a wide variety of tones and can both execute and have dark and macabre storylines.
@@ahopefor But not in general.
The "stripper" discourse around Starfire was really gross and bigoted. No one ever wouldve said that about a blonde yt woman in a fur coat.
Didnt love the casting, direction, or design for Starfire but that specific criticism always makes me cringe out of my skin.
Does she not look like a stripper though?
Only thing I liked about Titans was when Raven and Beast Boy met the Doom Patrol. And that’s it
