I love that Nightwing has become an ‘A List’ hero. He’s always had the ability to, but because of the heads at DC not liking the fact people make Dick jokes about his name. He’s always been shafted. But the last few years he’s really shined, and I’m very happy for that!

I'd love to see a Red Hood movie, his story is so interesting, and I'd want it to focus on his time after he was resurrected, his time with both Talia and Ra's al Ghul, before he returns to Gotham to wage war on the Crime Lords, get revenge of the Joker and eventually confront the antagonist of the film, Batman. In most stories about Red Hood, we follow Bruce, but I'd love to see a film that explores Jason's pain, and betrayal. You can flashback to his time as Robin as his memories slowly return, have him revisit the alley where Bruce caught him stealing the tyres of the batmobile and be forced to relive the memory, and give him a PTSD episode where the audience sees what Joker put him through. You can't show the whole ordeal, so have it happen with shadows on walls and you see the crowbar disappear of screen and hear him crying out in pain while Joker laughs, make the audience imagine how horrible it really is, and our imagination will always be more terrifying, than anything you can shoot on film.
I love the idea of a John wick style Nightwing movie where the majority of the film is Dick trying to fight off assassins after blockbuster puts a bounty on his head due to nightwing interfering with blockbuster’s crimes. Would love to see you make a Nightwing movie pitch.
That's a great pitch for a Nightwing film - you mentioned John Wick, but I can see it taking more than a few influences from the Daredevil Netflix series as well.

Yes! I agree strongly with an Icon and Rocket movie. It can lead into a Static movie and have themes of conservatives vs progressives, teenage pregnancies, how superheroes inspire people to change and be better, and government coverups.

imo Canary and Arrow are a great couple and all but they need some space showcasing their characters individually every once in a while, especially for Black Canary since imo one of the most awesome heroines in DC shouldn’t just be “this male hero’s wife”
The heroes I want to see done right the most are Nightwing, Cassandra Cain, Oracle, Spoiler, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, and Superman. Even if he’s had movies before, the live-action ones aren’t good outside of the Christopher Reeve ones. DC has so many phenomenal characters and stories that it’s a shame they’ve focused almost solely on Batman. If done right, DC easily rivals Marvel and in my opinion, surpasses it. Also, out of left field but I really want to see Question and Huntress’ relationship from JLU on the big screen. Edit: I agree with all of your suggestions, especially on Mister Miracle and the potential with New Genesis and Apocalypse. Also, if we don’t see Detective Chimp in Justice League Dark, there will be riots in the streets. I really want to see your Nightwing pitch and follow up video to this on more characters you’d want to see.
Exactly. Really outside Iron-man and Thor I find marvel to be boring. X men could be good but most movies have been meh... and I don't really have much faith in Disney doing them.. And Deadpool is a wildcard too. DC has a vastly more impressive universe than marvel does.
Ok, hear me out: I want another Green Lantern movie...an ANIMATED Green Lantern movie, featuring either Kyle Raynor or Jessica Cruz as the main character, recruited by the Green Lantern Corps after the fall of Oa to defend the universe against Atrocitus and the Red Lanterns. And yes, I know there have been Green Lantern animated films before, but a) those films were straight-to-DVD/streaming, not theatrical releases, and b) most news I've heard about those movies is about their story/characters (both for better and for worse), and nothing about whether the animation style was distinctive or inventive in its own right. If Into/Across the Spiderverse and the myriad of other animated films they've inspired have proven anything, it's that there is an infinite wellspring of potential in the realm of animation to show and tell the kinds of stories that live-action sets just can't replicate, and I feel as though Green Lantern - the hero literally powered by their own imagination - is the perfect franchise to display that potential.
I think my most wanted character to get a live action adaptation is being covered by the upcoming Booster Gold series. I LOVE that dude and he absolutely deserves it.

I hope we get a reboot to the flash asap. There’s so many stories you could tell with the character. I think the Legion of Superheroes seems just about obscure enough for James Gunn to tackle, though the real question is which version of the Legion to adapt to film.
when i was a young teen i attended a theater camp at Dwayne Mcduffies alma mater, and it was so cool, they basically had a milestone comic shrine to him in their theater department
*If they do Constantine* I hope they don’t have him shooting fireballs from his hands or fighting CGI demons… they should adapt the grounded, hellblazer stories that’re more dialogue heavy…where he’s a - not very likeable - Con man who does “magic tricks” that leave the viewer wondering whether he truly knows magic or is he just tricking everyone? Those are his best comics.
Or at the very least he doesn't get out of the situation using magic or anything more straightforward, I always find the arcs where he only got out of a hairy situation due to tricking people/demons/angels the more interesting ones
As someone who never read the 90's milestone comics this new revamped Milestone Verse is incredible. The art and stories are both intriguing and has me reading all the comicz so far that came out. I know Gunn just got hired but a milestone slice of this new DCU would not only be a good money opportunity but something comic fans and OG static shock fans been wanting. DC has all the characters they need to be a competing voice again. Just need a good game plan..
The cancellation of the Nightwing movie hurts a lot. Personally Nightwing is my favourite DC character and to know that the director of my also favourite Batman movie of all time was gonna make a movie about him that got cancelled... Yeah, it's tough.
The Question, Animal Man, Guy Gardener (in his red lanter era, trying to better that corps), Booster Gold (possibly my favorite DC character), AND… …a Scarface movie in kind of a Joker style. If you’ve ever seen the Anthony Hopkins movie Magic, something close to that would be perfect. Have Wescer be a down on his luck, pathetic, and unwell man who starts thinking his puppet is alive. Never show us whether or not Scarface really is alive, never say is Wescer has a specific mental condition (to help with causing the least amount of offensiveness), and keep Wescer sympathetic as long as you can. I think it could work so so well
The ending really hits home. If the conversation is dominated by how much money a movie is gonna make it kinda makes it harder to make money. Word of mouth is huge, if the conversation around a movie is about all the good things that movie did peoplebare gonna go out and watch it but if all you say about a movie is plz watch so it makes money it doesn't get you excited to go see it
I would love a Mister Miracle project, but I fear the character has the potential to end up overlooked in his own movie due to fan theorizing about its role as a puzzle piece in a larger storyline just for invoking Darkseid, the way some MCU projects have had their own strengths overlooked because people focus on what relates to the ongoing Kang storyline
Wildcat. I think he as a character has so much potential for the big screen, not just as a companion to Green Arrow and Black Canary, but as his own character with his own solo title.

The Metal Men is a DC property where I could pitch you a whole trilogy, with themes and character motivations and ideas about how to connect it to other properties and unique and appropriate villains for each movie and some ideas for casting and gags you can do. But I have no idea how to fully show their powers. Everyone talks about stretching being hard to show in live action but the Metal Men don't just stretch. They can go from being six foot tall broad-shouldered robots to turning into a talking pair of scissors or rotary phone or something that keeps their color scheme, symbol and somehow their face. How the hell would you even pull that off?
There's a lot of big names in DC who deserve the spotlight in this new DCU, but after seeing The Suicide Squad I really want a project centered around C-list supervillains. I think a TV series about them would really work, especially since the focus could be shifted to them being criminals, with not every single one of them necessarily being a full-on bad guy or villain. A smaller scale story about a group of people down on their luck in the criminal underworld could be really interesting. Plus it would be a great way to build out the world whilst showing off some really fun and crazy powers with characters like Ten Eyed Man, Crazy Quilt, and Rainbow Raider just being a few. Even the ones without wacky powers have lots of potential, Kite Man obviously is decently popular given his recent reimagining, Killer Moth is a character with a really interesting premise trying to be a hero to criminals rather than strictly a supervillain, and Catman's had a decent bit done with things like the Secret Six comics.
Big agree on Scott Free (though I do think if they were going to adapt King's Mister Miracle, it would work better if the main players of the Fourth World were introduced earlier). I desperately want Tim Drake to get some time in the spotlight, since he's my favorite comic book character. I'd love to see a TV show adapting the O'Neil Question run. And of course, like everyone else, I want Guillermo's Justice League Dark (in which I'd love to see my guy Etrigan, another Kirby creation). All that, as well as something Green Arrow/Black Canary, is basically my complete dream wish list.
I would really love to see a Virgil and Jaime type of show, like a miniseries where literally all they do is just team up and fight against low level threats. Which the show could maybe set up other characters for a future titans project (done properly this time 😭)
Honestly a wild cat movie would be kinda neat. Maybe something of him coming to terms with his age and finding a place in a world full of young new hero’s type deal. A bit of a generic idea, but I think the right director could make it work.
This might not happen, but one group of DC heroes I always wish to see a adaptation (movie or TV series) are the Legion of Substitute Heroes. For those who don't know, they are a group of made of canditates for the Legion of Super Heroes who were reject because of their weird and flawed powers (exemple: Stone boy could turn himself into a statue but not being able to move, Night Girl had super strenght but only at night or in dark places). I think they have a bigger potential for film or series about this weird group of outcasts going on cosmic sci-fy adventures, using their abilities in creative ways to save the day.
I would love to see Animal Man, but that would definitely be difficult to adapt from the comic medium, especially with Grant Morrison's run. But if it was pulled off with the right people I think it would be great, and could also serve as really good world building for the larger DCU.
Loved Blue Beetle! I really hope the movie is able to at least break even at the box office (a lofty goal, I know), but this movie has so much heart and character, it is a shame that it is not performing better.

I’d like to see a Question movie taking inspiration by Dennis O’Neil and Denys Cowan’s 80s Question series. A political mystery that delves into topics not only like corrupt politicians, but also stuff like ego death and transformation. Vic Sage’s Question is such an interesting character to me because, unlike Batman or Superman or ANY other character, he doesn’t usually fight supervillains. His enemies are dirty cops and corrupt politicians. He doesn’t have superpowers or fancy gadgets or billions of dollars. He’s got his mask and some serious martial arts skills, and that’s all he needs. A superhero movie like that would be so cool to me.

I haven't seen this idea around but a Jack Knight Starman movie or TV show would be really cool. Yes, Robinson's original run has some problematic stuff, but it also had a really fascinating examination of legacy that I don't think I've seen anywhere else. Also, I think it would be a really good way to get The Shade in the DCEU because The Shade is way more fun as a Starman side character than a Flash villain.
A Jsa prequel animated series similar to creature commanders would be cool for world building and introducing legacy characters such Jay Garrick,Alan Scott and many more. You can also introduce Wonder Woman in this without a solo film.
The whole “box office” argument reminds me of when people were pointing out that The Suicide Squad was a box office failure because it didn’t make its budget back. Yet they forget that the film was released during the pandemic when most theaters were still closed/people didn’t want to go out in public at risk of getting COVID. Also that the film became the most-streamed DCEU film on HBO Max.
nice choices man, For a Personal choice i might go a bit unusual but with james gunn at the top is something i can see happening: a Challengers of the Unknown movie/trilogy could be an unbelievable choice....i think that with all the demons, paranormal stories, aliens, robot, ancient cults etc you can create so many stories with a good mix of horror, sovrannatural and comic to make something really interesting from a less known project
This is a weird pick, but I read all of Jack Kirby’s Forever People a few months back and I desperately need that to be adapted in some way. Those characters and that world are so strange and wonderful. I think you could make a fun teen comedy/ sci-fi opera out of it

I’d love to see a video on how you’d adapt nightwing! But also hear me out, a red hood tv show that follows a sort of dual timeline, kind of like the first season of the witcher. We jump between following jason from his death and the events of under the red hood to jason solving a current case in the gotham underworld. Maybe during the first episode we are introduced to jason’s current life and some kind of mystery/bad guy he wants to solve/take down (i’m picturing jessica jones vibes) while jumping between his the events that lead to his death and ofc his actual death. The episode ends with jason waking up in his coffin and the screen cutting to black. From there there’s the overarching story that takes place in the present, and small stories that take place in the past in each episode (his time homeless where he was basically a walking corpse, training with the league, training under some pretty terrible people (pretty much the plot of lost days), and eventually in the last couple episodes we see under the red hood play out. I’d have the final confrontation in under the red hood and the present final confrontation parallel each other in the last episode. This could be a really interesting follow up to the brave and the bold because we would learn a lot more about the league of assassins. Additionally we would see jason’s moral philosophy develop in the past and see it in action (maybe also break down to an extent) in the present. I think the themes of the present plot should parallel the themes of the past (these themes could be anything from being failed by authority figures/parents to the whole some people deserve to die thing) You can tell i’ve spent way too long thinking about this, but I want to see them do something cool and for once, consistant with jason. I don’t think under the red hood warrants a full movie in the james gunn’s dcu, but it would be nice to have parts of the story told in a slightly different way.
I loved this video and would love to see a follow up video involving more characters! As for which characters that I would wanna see get movies, I think Christopher Chance/Human Target is due for a big screen outing (or maybe another small screen one) that takes influence from Peter Milligan's great run as well as Tom King's series, same goes for The Creeper, I could see James Gunn having a blast with him.

As a DC fan, it’s not all dark etc theres a balance. dc movies I want are: Teen titans, Vandal Savage, JL dark, The question+ Pandora + phantom stranger, the flash ( again but proper one) etc. Also Box office doesn’t mean shit if u didn’t enjoy it. I visualize a Plastic Man movie being like The Mask and how goofy and zany that was. You can really go insane with a Plastic Man film and just do a straight up silly hero, adventure and crime film.
I was actually kind of disappointed when James Gunn's video didn't include Tom King & Mitch Gerads's "Mister Miracle" because I think it would be a perfect movie to adapt in live action. Also agree that Justice League Dark would be PERFECT and fun. But yes please make a Nightwing pitch video! And throw some shade at how he's currently adapted (e.g. his role in Harley Quinn).
Blue beetle sequels Tone: don’t be afraid to go darker. Some of the best moments are when Jaime suffers. Don’t be afraid to say God. Who says “the cosmos”? Jaime prays biblical prayer at one point so be consistent. Having a clear belief system for a character helps us understand his thought process and relate better. Things Blue Beetle Sequels should keep in mind/improve: other scarabs which were alluded to in beginning space scene (I am personally more interested in more scarabs than past heroes); romance: Jamie and Jenny (Peter and Gwen from TASM and TASM2 is my favorite hero couple) find Jaime and Jenny’s similarities and motives such as career goals. Speaking of which career goals: what is Jaime and Rudy’s Jobs? Security? Inventor? Lawyer? How do they pay bills & food? villains: did any family exist among the previous security detail that was killed? Could their family/colleagues want revenge despite receiving life insurance from the very company they work for? Could they find a scarab of their own? What happens to Scarab when host dies? This could help bring Jaime in conflict with his family’s attitude to killing which contrasts with his own morals. Action: most of the fighting is great. keep it diverse even for fights without Jaime. For example when Beetle Ship crashes it could have shaken after being hit with an RPG so audience has reference when Jaime deflects/destroys/absorbs an RPG. Don’t be afraid to hurt or kill Jaime’s family. (We love them but stakes, realism, and Jaime might need it) show us how much pain they can endure and how far they are willing to go for each other. What are their limits/morals? Crazy Suggestion: Blue beetle could fight a yellow/red/orange lantern to show power scaling, to prep audience and Jaime for Green Lantern meets/fights Blue Beetle, and maybe Jaime learns a different/stealthy approach to take down a more powerful opponent.

Great picks! For me it‘s The Rogues. Flash‘s villains are so unique in their dynamics and visually interesting. They are a team of thieving villains who avoid killing heroes and their civilians due to their code. It‘s so annoying that WBD seems to only care about Flashpoint and the Flash as a universe reset-button. A Flash-movie with the Rogues could be so charming.
If you think Del Toro's Justice League Dark being turned down is bad, I found out recently that Marvel declined to make a Doctor Strange movie that was pitched by Guillermo Del Toro and Neil Gaiman. It would've been incredible to see.

If The Question got a movie with the style of (and pretty please directed by) David Fincher, it would be an actual dream come true. I have not read much about Adam Strange but I think he'd make for an interesting adaptation. Mace Gardner has a cool suit. That is all. A solo series about Beast Boy would be nice to see. A JLD movie would be cool to see, but I would also like to see a Zatanna solo adventure.
I've always had an idea of a buddy cop tv show about Detective Chimp being called to help the GCPD because of The Eraser. I also thought it would be fun if the GCPD gave Detective Chimp Stephanie Brown as a sidekick to hide her return to Gotham from Batman. It would also introduce the Clue Master and he could have a rivalry with The Eraser as well as Stephanie.
I hope we get something with Firestorm (either Ronnie Raymond or Jason Rusch) sooner rather than later. Such an interesting concept that I think they could do a lot with.
I want the Jason Rush and Gehenna duo, the latter has been so forgotten in favor of bringing back either Ronnie or Stein. I like Ronnie and Stein but I think the successors to the mantle deserve a lot more love and attention
I reckon in the new DCU, the tone should be whatever it needs to be. If it's a plastic man movie, make it lighthearted and goofy to fit the character, but if they want to adapt a more dark character or team, then make it edgy. They shouldn't just focus on one theme.

My list of characters I really want for the DCU is: - Nightwing, the OG legacy sidekick becoming a hero. And IMO is THE hero of DC, the perfect mix of the trinity. He should be DCs poster boy. - John Constantine, besides nightwing he's one of my favorites. There is just so much you can do with him and justice league dark that you said. Make a horror movie with the house of mystery, or something. - Ollie + Dinah, they are just great together and I would love something to do with the Ninth Circle. - LOVE mr. miracle and big barda, they deserve their own movie.
Box office is definitely not a good argument anymore. I mean kids will brag about Captain marvel making a billion... and I say, so? That movie was crap and lots of chappy movies made a billion at that time. That tends to shut em up.

Honestly I think a Green Lantern movie could do great, but not with the more well known green Lanterns. But with Kyle Rayner as the lead. He was initially completely disconnected from the Green Lantern mythos so as he learns more it could be a natural way to delve into the lore. They could go the Parallax Hal Jordan route of extermination or something else. Kyle is also incredibly creative which would let them make really interesting things. Not to mention with how much more advanced CGI and enough money they could put in could let them make a very good Green Lantern movie. Plus it could break the stereotype I've seen of not enough respect being put on the Green Lantern name. Kyle is also just really cool and I love him so much.
We’ve already established we need a Green Arrow/Black Canary movie (personally I’d love them as a duo movie) but other characters I think would be incredible in live action Etrigan in a Werewolf by Night style project exploring monsters and those that deal with them The Question (Sage or Montoya) in a Daredevil esque noir mystery action show Adam Strange cosmic adventures The Doom Patrol in a Guardians like psychedelic adventure with all of the heart and emotions from the comics The Atom and his adventures (would love to have it be Palmer with Choi in a major supporting role alongside Karen as Bumblebee) Firestorm in a kind of John Hughes coming of age for Raymond and Stein working together

*Ive been writing pitch scripts for countless of these amazing DC characters you list to have their own project, whether it be a movie, TV show, or animated show/movie who truly deserve it* because let's face it the DCEU was never going to give some of these amazing characters the respect they deserve. *DC is more than just Batman and the Justice League, DC is so many beautiful things It can be dark, emotional, heartfelt, silly, fun, colourful, philosophical, thought-provoking, engaging, inspirational and so many amazing things* . *I love your ideas for a New Gods show especially since The New Gods was one of Jack Kirby's pride and joys that really dived into the philosophical questioning of tyranny, fascism, good and evil in a far more multi-faceted and nuanced way, that alone could make an amazing philosophical drama and make it an epic sci-fi Game of Thrones drama with so many phenomenal and endearing characters like Scott Free, Big Barda, Orion etc...* I also hope they finally give us so many of these characters especially *Static Shock, Vixen, Justice League: Dark, Black Canary & Green Arrow etc...* I would love to see *more focus on the epic sci-fi side of DC Comics* as the *Green Lantern stories alone could literally be DC's answer to Star Wars* as those stories from Geoff Johns are amazing and groundbreaking for the character and could be written into a sci fi-space opera saga, which I have already written 6 scripts for a film saga.

I’d like to see the Question come to the big screen. Though I’d like someone he can play off of and a lot of this is based on my love for the JLU take on the character.
Maybe it’s my love/hate relationship with 90’s comics, but I would love to see an Azreal movie. The newest Sword of Azreal series really worked for me, showing who Jean-Paul Valley is in relationship to Azreal and the System.
For a Nightwing film, I'm really hoping DC takes inspiration from the current Tom Taylor run. His characterization of Dick and Babs is truly unmatched. What's more, I'm really crossing my fingers for the city of Bludhaven to be as much a character in the story as anyone else. If you haven't read it yet, super minor spoilers for the run. But Alfred passes away he leaves his entire Wayne estate inheritance to Dick. Rather than holding onto the money, Dick chooses to donate nearly all of it to the homeless and the less fortunate. This just showcases Dick's profound commitment to making a genuine difference in the lives of those in need. Which is esstinal for a onscreen adaption, because I have always said dick grayson is dc univerises version of peter parker.
Id add to the Tom King adaptation trifecta by adapting the amazing Human Target miniseries! It would make for an insane and beautiful film that could color in the margins of the potential JLA Gunn wants to make.
I don’t care if it’s a movie, or series, or even a movie where he shares the spotlight with someone kinda like Antman and the Wasp or something, just give us something for Nightwing
I know we are getting a Lanterns TV show, but we need GL movie set in space. All of the best Green Lantern stories are in space, not sure why they are making a show on earth... still, I hope it's good.
I would love a “Plastic Man” movie pre-write. He just as that energy that would be amazing to see in a movie. I have no thoughts on any fan casts, and honestly would prefer if it is a relative unknown or even someone just staring out. However, I do wish for them to be able to have the same level of live-action cartooniness as Jim Carey. But not Jim Carey himself, the man deserves a break
I want a REAL and PROPER Young Justice project, not the garbage we got from the show. I want a badass Tim Drake Robin, a super fun Bart Allen Impulse, and a super cool Konnor Kent Superboy, with the leather jacket and earrings and sunglasses and everything. And also with a Cassie Sandsmark wonder girl and sure, even a Miss Martian, I ain't got no problem with taking a creative liberty of including M'gann. Or at the very least, I so bad want a comic accurate superboy.

Im a DC fan like my father. I liked Blue Beetle a lot, but my father loved it. Spoiler alert for someone who hadnt watch the movie... So when Jaime's father died because of a heart atack my father was on the verge of crying, because my grandfather had some heart problems and he had some health issues (he's good now) and Jaime's father looked like my grandfather and my father couldn't bear the scenes and he tried to hide from me and my girlfriend in his seat, and started praying. Man, that was a hard thing to watch, I haven't seen my father like this. And he watched some bad reviews on his for you page on tik tok and I heard him scream "Shut the f up". I'd love to see a Red Hood movie, his story is so interesting, and I'd want it to focus on his time after he was resurrected, his time with both Talia and Ra's al Ghul, before he returns to Gotham to wage war on the Crime Lords, get revenge of the Joker and eventually confront the antagonist of the film, Batman. In most stories about Red Hood, we follow Bruce, but I'd love to see a film that explores Jason's pain, and betrayal.
You can flashback to his time as Robin as his memories slowly return, have him revisit the alley where Bruce caught him stealing the tyres of the batmobile and be forced to relive the memory, and give him a PTSD episode where the audience sees what Joker put him through. You can't show the whole ordeal, so have it happen with shadows on walls and you see the crowbar disappear of screen and hear him crying out in pain while Joker laughs, make the audience imagine how horrible it really is, and our imagination will always be more terrifying, than anything you can shoot on film.
I love the idea of a John wick style Nightwing movie where the majority of the film is Dick trying to fight off assassins after blockbuster puts a bounty on his head due to nightwing interfering with blockbuster’s crimes.

I'm still mad about that planned New Gods movie that got cancelled a few years back, and I'd love to see it get a second chance someday.
The heroes I want to see done right the most are Nightwing, Cassandra Cain, Oracle, Spoiler, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, and Superman. Even if he’s had movies before, the live-action ones aren’t good outside of the Christopher Reeve ones.
DC has so many phenomenal characters and stories that it’s a shame they’ve focused almost solely on Batman. If done right, DC easily rivals Marvel and in my opinion, surpasses it.
Also, out of left field but I really want to see Question and Huntress’ relationship from JLU on the big screen.

Ok, hear me out: I want another Green Lantern movie...an ANIMATED Green Lantern movie, featuring either Kyle Raynor or Jessica Cruz as the main character, recruited by the Green Lantern Corps after the fall of Oa to defend the universe against Atrocitus and the Red Lanterns.
And yes, I know there have been Green Lantern animated films before, but a) those films were straight-to-DVD/streaming, not theatrical releases, and b) most news I've heard about those movies is about their story/characters (both for better and for worse), and nothing about whether the animation style was distinctive or inventive in its own right. If Into/Across the Spiderverse and the myriad of other animated films they've inspired have proven anything, it's that there is an infinite wellspring of potential in the realm of animation to show and tell the kinds of stories that live-action sets just can't replicate, and I feel as though Green Lantern - the hero literally powered by their own imagination - is the perfect franchise to display that potential.

*If they do Constantine* I hope they don’t have him shooting fireballs from his hands or fighting CGI demons… they should adapt the grounded, hellblazer stories that’re more dialogue heavy…where he’s a - not very likeable - Con man who does “magic tricks” that leave the viewer wondering whether he truly knows magic or is he just tricking everyone? Those are his best comics.

As someone who never read the 90's milestone comics this new revamped Milestone Verse is incredible. The art and stories are both intriguing and has me reading all the comicz so far that came out. I know Gunn just got hired but a milestone slice of this new DCU would not only be a good money opportunity but something comic fans and OG static shock fans been wanting. DC has all the characters they need to be a competing voice again. Just need a good game plan..
The cancellation of the Nightwing movie hurts a lot. Personally Nightwing is my favourite DC character and to know that the director of my also favourite Batman movie of all time was gonna make a movie about him that got cancelled... Yeah, it's tough.
The Question, Animal Man, Guy Gardener (in his red lanter era, trying to better that corps), Booster Gold (possibly my favorite DC character), AND…
…a Scarface movie in kind of a Joker style. If you’ve ever seen the Anthony Hopkins movie Magic, something close to that would be perfect. Have Wescer be a down on his luck, pathetic, and unwell man who starts thinking his puppet is alive. Never show us whether or not Scarface really is alive, never say is Wescer has a specific mental condition (to help with causing the least amount of offensiveness), and keep Wescer sympathetic as long as you can. I think it could work so so well
The ending really hits home. If the conversation is dominated by how much money a movie is gonna make it kinda makes it harder to make money. Word of mouth is huge, if the conversation around a movie is about all the good things that movie did peoplebare gonna go out and watch it but if all you say about a movie is plz watch so it makes money it doesn't get you excited to go see it
I would love a Mister Miracle project, but I fear the character has the potential to end up overlooked in his own movie due to fan theorizing about its role as a puzzle piece in a larger storyline just for invoking Darkseid, the way some MCU projects have had their own strengths overlooked because people focus on what relates to the ongoing Kang storyline

The Metal Men is a DC property where I could pitch you a whole trilogy, with themes and character motivations and ideas about how to connect it to other properties and unique and appropriate villains for each movie and some ideas for casting and gags you can do.
But I have no idea how to fully show their powers.
Everyone talks about stretching being hard to show in live action but the Metal Men don't just stretch. They can go from being six foot tall broad-shouldered robots to turning into a talking pair of scissors or rotary phone or something that keeps their color scheme, symbol and somehow their face.
How the hell would you even pull that off?

There's a lot of big names in DC who deserve the spotlight in this new DCU, but after seeing The Suicide Squad I really want a project centered around C-list supervillains. I think a TV series about them would really work, especially since the focus could be shifted to them being criminals, with not every single one of them necessarily being a full-on bad guy or villain. A smaller scale story about a group of people down on their luck in the criminal underworld could be really interesting.
Plus it would be a great way to build out the world whilst showing off some really fun and crazy powers with characters like Ten Eyed Man, Crazy Quilt, and Rainbow Raider just being a few. Even the ones without wacky powers have lots of potential, Kite Man obviously is decently popular given his recent reimagining, Killer Moth is a character with a really interesting premise trying to be a hero to criminals rather than strictly a supervillain, and Catman's had a decent bit done with things like the Secret Six comics.
Big agree on Scott Free (though I do think if they were going to adapt King's Mister Miracle, it would work better if the main players of the Fourth World were introduced earlier). I desperately want Tim Drake to get some time in the spotlight, since he's my favorite comic book character. I'd love to see a TV show adapting the O'Neil Question run. And of course, like everyone else, I want Guillermo's Justice League Dark (in which I'd love to see my guy Etrigan, another Kirby creation). All that, as well as something Green Arrow/Black Canary, is basically my complete dream wish list.
I would really love to see a Virgil and Jaime type of show, like a miniseries where literally all they do is just team up and fight against low level threats. Which the show could maybe set up other characters for a future titans project (done properly this time 😭)

Honestly a wild cat movie would be kinda neat. Maybe something of him coming to terms with his age and finding a place in a world full of young new hero’s type deal. A bit of a generic idea, but I think the right director could make it work.
This might not happen, but one group of DC heroes I always wish to see a adaptation (movie or TV series) are the Legion of Substitute Heroes.
For those who don't know, they are a group of made of canditates for the Legion of Super Heroes who were reject because of their weird and flawed powers (exemple: Stone boy could turn himself into a statue but not being able to move, Night Girl had super strenght but only at night or in dark places).
I think they have a bigger potential for film or series about this weird group of outcasts going on cosmic sci-fy adventures, using their abilities in creative ways to save the day.
I would love to see Animal Man, but that would definitely be difficult to adapt from the comic medium, especially with Grant Morrison's run. But if it was pulled off with the right people I think it would be great, and could also serve as really good world building for the larger DCU.
Loved Blue Beetle! I really hope the movie is able to at least break even at the box office (a lofty goal, I know), but this movie has so much heart and character, it is a shame that it is not performing better.

I’d like to see a Question movie taking inspiration by Dennis O’Neil and Denys Cowan’s 80s Question series. A political mystery that delves into topics not only like corrupt politicians, but also stuff like ego death and transformation.
Vic Sage’s Question is such an interesting character to me because, unlike Batman or Superman or ANY other character, he doesn’t usually fight supervillains. His enemies are dirty cops and corrupt politicians. He doesn’t have superpowers or fancy gadgets or billions of dollars. He’s got his mask and some serious martial arts skills, and that’s all he needs. A superhero movie like that would be so cool to me.

I haven't seen this idea around but a Jack Knight Starman movie or TV show would be really cool. Yes, Robinson's original run has some problematic stuff, but it also had a really fascinating examination of legacy that I don't think I've seen anywhere else. Also, I think it would be a really good way to get The Shade in the DCEU because The Shade is way more fun as a Starman side character than a Flash villain.
A Jsa prequel animated series similar to creature commanders would be cool for world building and introducing legacy characters such Jay Garrick,Alan Scott and many more. You can also introduce Wonder Woman in this without a solo film.

Yet they forget that the film was released during the pandemic when most theaters were still closed/people didn’t want to go out in public at risk of getting COVID. Also that the film became the most-streamed DCEU film on HBO Max.
nice choices man, For a Personal choice i might go a bit unusual but with james gunn at the top is something i can see happening: a Challengers of the Unknown movie/trilogy could be an unbelievable choice....i think that with all the demons, paranormal stories, aliens, robot, ancient cults etc you can create so many stories with a good mix of horror, sovrannatural and comic to make something really interesting from a less known project

But also hear me out, a red hood tv show that follows a sort of dual timeline, kind of like the first season of the witcher. We jump between following jason from his death and the events of under the red hood to jason solving a current case in the gotham underworld. Maybe during the first episode we are introduced to jason’s current life and some kind of mystery/bad guy he wants to solve/take down (i’m picturing jessica jones vibes) while jumping between his the events that lead to his death and ofc his actual death. The episode ends with jason waking up in his coffin and the screen cutting to black. From there there’s the overarching story that takes place in the present, and small stories that take place in the past in each episode (his time homeless where he was basically a walking corpse, training with the league, training under some pretty terrible people (pretty much the plot of lost days), and eventually in the last couple episodes we see under the red hood play out. I’d have the final confrontation in under the red hood and the present final confrontation parallel each other in the last episode. This could be a really interesting follow up to the brave and the bold because we would learn a lot more about the league of assassins. Additionally we would see jason’s moral philosophy develop in the past and see it in action (maybe also break down to an extent) in the present. I think the themes of the present plot should parallel the themes of the past (these themes could be anything from being failed by authority figures/parents to the whole some people deserve to die thing)
You can tell i’ve spent way too long thinking about this, but I want to see them do something cool and for once, consistant with jason. I don’t think under the red hood warrants a full movie in the james gunn’s dcu, but it would be nice to have parts of the story told in a slightly different way.

As for which characters that I would wanna see get movies, I think Christopher Chance/Human Target is due for a big screen outing (or maybe another small screen one) that takes influence from Peter Milligan's great run as well as Tom King's series, same goes for The Creeper, I could see James Gunn having a blast with him.
If Plastic Man was going to get a movie, it would NEED to be animated, and John Mulaney should be cast as him. I know celebrities in animated movies is overdone, but I think that those two would go hand-in-hand!

Tone: don’t be afraid to go darker. Some of the best moments are when Jaime suffers. Don’t be afraid to say God. Who says “the cosmos”? Jaime prays biblical prayer at one point so be consistent. Having a clear belief system for a character helps us understand his thought process and relate better.
Things Blue Beetle Sequels should keep in mind/improve: other scarabs which were alluded to in beginning space scene (I am personally more interested in more scarabs than past heroes); romance: Jamie and Jenny (Peter and Gwen from TASM and TASM2 is my favorite hero couple) find Jaime and Jenny’s similarities and motives such as career goals. Speaking of which career goals: what is Jaime and Rudy’s Jobs? Security? Inventor? Lawyer? How do they pay bills & food?
villains: did any family exist among the previous security detail that was killed? Could their family/colleagues want revenge despite receiving life insurance from the very company they work for? Could they find a scarab of their own? What happens to Scarab when host dies? This could help bring Jaime in conflict with his family’s attitude to killing which contrasts with his own morals.
Action: most of the fighting is great. keep it diverse even for fights without Jaime. For example when Beetle Ship crashes it could have shaken after being hit with an RPG so audience has reference when Jaime deflects/destroys/absorbs an RPG. Don’t be afraid to hurt or kill Jaime’s family. (We love them but stakes, realism, and Jaime might need it) show us how much pain they can endure and how far they are willing to go for each other. What are their limits/morals?
Crazy Suggestion: Blue beetle could fight a yellow/red/orange lantern to show power scaling, to prep audience and Jaime for Green Lantern meets/fights Blue Beetle, and maybe Jaime learns a different/stealthy approach to take down a more powerful opponent.
First of all, awesome video. Also I would very much like to see that Nightwing pitch. I would also like to see a green arrow pitch. And one DC character I would like to see get adapted into a movie is Red Hood or Dr Fate.
Great picks! For me it‘s The Rogues. Flash‘s villains are so unique in their dynamics and visually interesting. They are a team of thieving villains who avoid killing heroes and their civilians due to their code. It‘s so annoying that WBD seems to only care about Flashpoint and the Flash as a universe reset-button. A Flash-movie with the Rogues could be so charming.
If you think Del Toro's Justice League Dark being turned down is bad, I found out recently that Marvel declined to make a Doctor Strange movie that was pitched by Guillermo Del Toro and Neil Gaiman. It would've been incredible to see.

I have not read much about Adam Strange but I think he'd make for an interesting adaptation.

I've always had an idea of a buddy cop tv show about Detective Chimp being called to help the GCPD because of The Eraser. I also thought it would be fun if the GCPD gave Detective Chimp Stephanie Brown as a sidekick to hide her return to Gotham from Batman. It would also introduce the Clue Master and he could have a rivalry with The Eraser as well as Stephanie.
I hope we get something with Firestorm (either Ronnie Raymond or Jason Rusch) sooner rather than later. Such an interesting concept that I think they could do a lot with.
I want the Jason Rush and Gehenna duo, the latter has been so forgotten in favor of bringing back either Ronnie or Stein. I like Ronnie and Stein but I think the successors to the mantle deserve a lot more love and attention
I reckon in the new DCU, the tone should be whatever it needs to be. If it's a plastic man movie, make it lighthearted and goofy to fit the character, but if they want to adapt a more dark character or team, then make it edgy. They shouldn't just focus on one theme.

- Nightwing, the OG legacy sidekick becoming a hero. And IMO is THE hero of DC, the perfect mix of the trinity. He should be DCs poster boy.
- John Constantine, besides nightwing he's one of my favorites.
There is just so much you can do with him and justice league dark that you said. Make a horror movie with the house of mystery, or something.
- Ollie + Dinah, they are just great together and I would love something to do with the Ninth Circle.
- LOVE mr. miracle and big barda, they deserve their own movie.

Honestly I think a Green Lantern movie could do great, but not with the more well known green Lanterns. But with Kyle Rayner as the lead.
He was initially completely disconnected from the Green Lantern mythos so as he learns more it could be a natural way to delve into the lore. They could go the Parallax Hal Jordan route of extermination or something else. Kyle is also incredibly creative which would let them make really interesting things. Not to mention with how much more advanced CGI and enough money they could put in could let them make a very good Green Lantern movie. Plus it could break the stereotype I've seen of not enough respect being put on the Green Lantern name.
Kyle is also just really cool and I love him so much.

*I love your ideas for a New Gods show especially since The New Gods was one of Jack Kirby's pride and joys that really dived into the philosophical questioning of tyranny, fascism, good and evil in a far more multi-faceted and nuanced way, that alone could make an amazing philosophical drama and make it an epic sci-fi Game of Thrones drama with so many phenomenal and endearing characters like Scott Free, Big Barda, Orion etc...*

I would love to see *more focus on the epic sci-fi side of DC Comics* as the *Green Lantern stories alone could literally be DC's answer to Star Wars* as those stories from Geoff Johns are amazing and groundbreaking for the character and could be written into a sci fi-space opera saga, which I have already written 6 scripts for a film saga.

Maybe it’s my love/hate relationship with 90’s comics, but I would love to see an Azreal movie. The newest Sword of Azreal series really worked for me, showing who Jean-Paul Valley is in relationship to Azreal and the System.
For a Nightwing film, I'm really hoping DC takes inspiration from the current Tom Taylor run. His characterization of Dick and Babs is truly unmatched. What's more, I'm really crossing my fingers for the city of Bludhaven to be as much a character in the story as anyone else. If you haven't read it yet, super minor spoilers for the run. But Alfred passes away he leaves his entire Wayne estate inheritance to Dick. Rather than holding onto the money, Dick chooses to donate nearly all of it to the homeless and the less fortunate. This just showcases Dick's profound commitment to making a genuine difference in the lives of those in need. Which is esstinal for a onscreen adaption, because I have always said dick grayson is dc univerises version of peter parker.

Nightwing has been my favorite superhero for so long, him getting his own movie would be a dream come true.
I know we are getting a Lanterns TV show, but we need GL movie set in space. All of the best Green Lantern stories are in space, not sure why they are making a show on earth... still, I hope it's good.
I would love a “Plastic Man” movie pre-write. He just as that energy that would be amazing to see in a movie. I have no thoughts on any fan casts, and honestly would prefer if it is a relative unknown or even someone just staring out. However, I do wish for them to be able to have the same level of live-action cartooniness as Jim Carey.

I want a REAL and PROPER Young Justice project, not the garbage we got from the show. I want a badass Tim Drake Robin, a super fun Bart Allen Impulse, and a super cool Konnor Kent Superboy, with the leather jacket and earrings and sunglasses and everything. And also with a Cassie Sandsmark wonder girl and sure, even a Miss Martian, I ain't got no problem with taking a creative liberty of including M'gann. Or at the very least, I so bad want a comic accurate superboy.

Im a DC fan like my father. I liked Blue Beetle a lot, but my father loved it. Spoiler alert for someone who hadnt watch the movie...
So when Jaime's father died because of a heart atack my father was on the verge of crying, because my grandfather had some heart problems and he had some health issues (he's good now) and Jaime's father looked like my grandfather and my father couldn't bear the scenes and he tried to hide from me and my girlfriend in his seat, and started praying. Man, that was a hard thing to watch, I haven't seen my father like this. And he watched some bad reviews on his for you page on tik tok and I heard him scream "Shut the f up". Yeah we liked blue beetle and we would like to see a young justice movie and some Blue Beetle sequels
