- In this video I will be joining Unlimited Marine in Pompano Beach to prep for ceramics on the 2020 39 SeaVee. We will be covering how to polish diamond / factory nonskid and tips for ceramic coating. I will be explaining where Top Dock Pro is heading in the future with coatings and what I’ve learned about ceramics since I started. Sit back, relax, and take some ideas away from this video and implement in your situation! 🛥😎

Awesome video Simon. Very informative. Great to watch you mature and develop your skills and knowledge!
Thanks John! Glad you enjoyed it! Always learning and growing 💯
What’s the going rates to charge to elevate and a ceramic non skid a ft?
Thanks Simon for this video. Question, when you apply the Starke Repel Pro ceramic coating to the non skid, did you say you do not need to buff it off, you just apply it and let it set up and that is it? Thanks, Brad
That is correct
Thanks a lot, great video. Have you tried Shine Supply products? I live in California and their store 40 minutes from my house.
Thanks for watching! No I haven’t, but I’ve heard good things
After you apply starke elevate and buff.... what did you use to clean the nonskid before yo applied the ceramic coating?
DNA Zero alcohol solution with a microfiber towel to neutralize the surface
How do you tell if your non-skid is heavily oxidized? I cannot tell at all. Does non-skid oxidize at the same rate as the surrounding flat gelcoat? Mine is a sharp diamond pattern. Seems like with the facets it would get less sunshine than the flat gelcoat next to it.
If it’s not shining like a million bucks it’s oxidized. Take a polisher to it and you’ll notice real quick. No, the nonskid does not oxidize as fast as the smooth gel around the area
How do you get the nonskid looking clean and white again? My boats a 2017 but I’m having a hard time getting it looking white before I go to do this
What’s the boat?
@@topdockpro it’s a 2017 hurricane center console 19 foot
Diamond non skid I believe?
Can you put down a clear gel coat before applying the ceramic coating? How often does a new ceramic coating need to be applied? Do you recommend doing the full prep before every new application of ceramic?
Ceramic coating should be analyzed yearly and coated as necessary. Ceramic coating typically needs replaced yearly on particular parts of the boat. Not full prep but polishing and then recoating. I suppose you could respray the gel, probably expensive. Why not just restore the current gelcoat?
So just apply the ceramic on the non-skid without leveling?? Or go back over it with the microfiber??
Apply the ceramic and leave on. Do not level
