    Good to see another detailer using an applicator. This really adds consistency to the finish. Level R is so thick I’ve switch to
    Using an open top container and a chip brush as an applicator. It controls product use age and minimizes product sling. The constant banging a bottle to get come product is a pain. I have a small cup that fits in my detail belt for on ladder work. Such a time saver. I dig your raft set up. Super smart!

      The applicator is great for many reasons! I also agree, it is an inconvenience to get Level R to come out of the bottle at times. Great suggestions! Thanks for this comment 🙌

    Great to see you back making videos. I hope you are keeping busy. Did you move over to the Gulf side of the state? I was thinking when you moved to Florida, you started out on the Ocean side.

    Glad to see you back! Thicker gloves work better for me too. Did you use a thicker amount of compound on this 🛥 because of color or oxidation level? Genius raft set-up!

      I used more because I just did a full sand on the black and wanted to have sufficient compound to cut out the scratches!

    Simon, thank you for the tips and tricks. Question, are you ALWAYS starting off with a wet sand? Or only if the gel coat is "chalky" ? Also ...on the second part polish ....would you rather use a flex with orange pad or would you use the yellow dewalt with lets say a blended wool pad ? And lastly what is your most FAV go to polish that is cost effective with good quality? I'm having a hard time finding the right polish to get that final "pop". I APPRECCIATE ANY ADVICE !! THANKS !

    • @topdockpro
      @topdockpro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’re welcome, thanks for supporting the channel! No wet sanding is not always necessary only if the gel coat is chalky! The flex with orange foam is better at taking out final scratches and the yellow blended wool with the Dewalt buffer is better at eliminating oxidation or sanding defects. Ideally you would rather use the flex and an orange foam for the best finish. Elevate is a good polish but if you want even more pop you could run 3m machine polish or simply mix it in with elevate at the same time :)

    • @topdockpro
      @topdockpro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Or you run Starke Triple P after elevate that will give a great pop!

    How long is the graphene coating going to last up here on Lake Erie?

    • @topdockpro
      @topdockpro  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      12-18 months. You should have no problem getting 2 seasons on Lake Erie. Proper maintenance and washing is important.

      @@topdockpro thank you for your response brother! Think I’m going to try it out on my top side this year. My hull stays in pretty good shape all year but the topside takes a pretty good whooping thru the season over here in Michigan.
      Hopefully you’re having huge success with your move. Wish you nothing but the best.
