Yep nothing beats a good firing with a nice hearty smile
He only fired the white male, imagine the screaming, threats and drama if he fired a POC.
This manager got a promotion, a pay raise, and a generous bonus. Very well deserved. The fact that he took safety so seriously and made no room for error knowing it could cost people their lives is truly a skill set and a heart.

Guys on sites get kicked out for "minor" safety infractions all the time. Because sure they're small mistakes, and they rarely happen, but the 0.01% of the time they do happen, you're dead or amputated 100% of the time.

@@j4m3sii they find em all the time
@@jozeegetmoney from la mexico
@@j4m3sii companies do it all the time. You don’t need to find workers from outside the country that know how to work safely. Honestly, this manager could’ve coached the guy more and maybe done a remedial class, but he did his job. I’ve seen what happens when you don’t take safety seriously and things go wrong. It isn’t pretty. I lost two coworkers last summer because of it. The manager saw them violate a safety rule and didn’t say anything because “we do it all the time and nothing has happened yet” and the two men died. Take safety seriously, it could save your life.

Man, this is actually a really good employee. Prioritizing safety means this guy is good at delivering bad news, and not a lot of employees are going to be comfortable firing people for 1 mistake.
Staged. Or guy is an a**hole. You dont fire on the first mistake. Coach and learn. Deliberately being unsafe you obly get one. Being new and not knowing you get a chance to learn.

My cousins were hanging on a fork lifter and one of them accidentally fell and it was night time. And he was ran over and dragged for a couple yards and they couldn’t take him out. It took 14 people and even that it was a little hard but by that time he was already dead unfortunately. The person driving it, was so depressed and felt so guilty he couldn’t talk for a while. He wasn’t at fault he was trying to do his job and it was night time and because kids don’t listen, consequences happen. Especially with big/heavy/dangerous machines.
I'm so sorry. It was kind of you to share this though. It may help others to protect young people, in particular, who are maybe not yet serious enough to be near heavy equipment. My condolences to you and your family.
Bet he won't do that again.
So sorry for your loss
He looked to me like he enjoyed firing someone too much, smiling the whole time!!!
I've been fired 3 times. I never got an apology ever.
The one time can say your fired to your boss
For all the people talking bad about the manager smiling while telling him he’s fired: That’s a defense mechanism for how people handle situations. As a Latino I can tell you that most people who speak another language such as Spanish smile like this all the time when having to give upsetting news because they understand when something is difficult to say and also because they’re uncomfortable at the same time. The smile is trying to make them not feel bad that they failed. This guy is a good guy. There are others who are Latino too that have a stern face and are jerks and don’t even try to help the situation. This is how you know this guy is a good person. It’s part of the culture that people would understand if they were in it. One culture sees smiling while giving bad news a bad thing but the other sees it as trying to let someone down easy and not make them feel any worse.
I smile in situations like that too
You convinced me to read your entire comment. I'm impressed
I feel the same way. Imagine getting fired and the guy is smiling like this guy
If they did that at USPS, everyone would get fired.
I'm ashamed to admit on first watch I was waiting for the Boss to reprimand the employee, but on second watch, I looked at his face, and he looked like such a genuinely nice guy that just cares about the safety of the guy he's training. Like maybe he also realizes how much it would cost them if this "new guy" fucks up, and maybe I'm reading too much into his expression like I'm some sort of body language interpreter, but regardless, that's the type of calm, decisive, and responsible person you want working in that type of position.
I can't make those decisions unless I knew what the pay was? Probably minium wage? So lost nothing get a job at mcdonald's
Looks like he'll have to go back to his day job. Lol!
