    India should win this World Cup. Not because they have won ten in a row to Australia’s poultry eight. It’s quite simple, they are the best team. If you compare them to Australia, India have better pace, spin, fifth bowler, and batting. Australia have a longer batting line up, and more power.
    India is the better team, in better form, in better conditions for them. The bookmakers say India are a 70% chance of winning. That implies Australia would win three out of ten times, that seems optimistic.
    But it did make me wonder, if Australia were to win, how would it happen?

    How can Australia win? Win the toss, chose to bowl, bowl like champions and field like maniacs, hold onto screamers and limit India to 240. Then come out and have Travis head score 137 and Marnus score a fighting 50. Game over India. Congratulations to the Aussie champions!

      Even a 60 ball 80 odd would do it for us if Virat Kohli doesn't think of a 100 but play for the team instead as we don't need anchors when you've got 6 full-fledged batters who can come and fire and pile so many runs, it becomes practically impossible for the other team.

  • @piri_desu

    India is obviously in a strong position to win this WC, but at the same time we must not become overconfident that we will definately win. If Australia manage to take wicket of Rohit, Gill and Kohli under 10 overs, India will be in a huge pressure, maybe collapsing under 250 run on batting first or if chasing, things will be similar what hapened in 2015 semi final against Australia.

    • @hayekianman
      @hayekianman 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      250 is more than enough for this indian bowling line up to defend if it is a pitch that can produce a top order indian batting collapse

    • @srinu57
      @srinu57 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I heard this pitch is not going to allow high scoring. So equal opportunities for Bowlers as well. If we field well and take early wickets of Marsh, Warner and Head, we can restrict Australia to 230. If we can manage to make 280, we can defend. While chasing, we should avoid the temptation to play the drive shots/ defensive shots as Bavuma did against Starc. Also the short ball pull shot must be avoided as far as possible. No need to try and hit everything! Just have patience to wait until the ball is older and then take on Cummins, Zampa, Maxwell/Head. Starc loses steam after the first 4 overs and then he can give freebies as well. So only Hazlewood is the 1 key bowler for Australia and we should be careful while playing him.

    Why are people over-hyping India? Aussies middle-order has a few holes, that is their greatest weakness, but their bowling has come around in the last few matches - these are Starc, Hazlewood and Cummins we are talking about. India also got bowled out for 229 against a weak England side, and Bumrah and Siraj bowled badly under pressure in the powerplay in the semi-final. If they bowl like that against Australia, the score would be 96/2 and not 46/2 after 10 overs. Australia had reduced India to three wickets for two runs (could have been a fourth had Marsh taken a routine catch). Some other good signs for the Aussies is not giving up in some close moments in the AFG, NZ, and SA matches.
    I would say it's 55-45 in favour of India.

      Yes, and Australia's middle order hasn't been as bad as some make it out to be, Smith lacked runs but his main job is to be an anchor which he was decent at, Marnus has gotten the runs, Maxwell is, well, Maxwell, and Inglis is the only extremely weak one, Haven't seen him make more than 30 runs

      Rohit had just Maxwell for a 6 and a 4, and then he chose to hit another risky shot and got out. If he had played wiser, and stuck for another 5-10 overs, India could have got around 280 and Australia's run chase would have been much tougher.

The things which goes in favour of Australia are 1) their batting depth , 2) Fielding & 3) Handling the pressure situation. Some may say that they also have 6 th bowling option which india dont have but suppose if their 5 th bowler like maxwell is taken for runs then i dont think travis head will be spared & if starc or Cummins is taken for runs then they will go to marsh then also marsh is not someone like hardik who he is proper bowler .

It's just some fluff that cricket commentators like to pedal to give the illusion of data based research.
      Any day could be a bad day, it has nothing to do with what happened in the previous match, that is why mean regression is not predictive, it can only be applied post hoc when you arrive at an actual mean.

    If Australia has to win, they need to use Zampa at his best and be extra careful of Jadeja and Yadav while batting. Ahmedabad pitch is dry and offers turn. Plus it's the home ground of Jadeja.
    India has a good batting against spin, so Australia would like to minimize that edge by having India bat first in drier conditions and take Rohit's wicket early on and limiting partnerships.
    Miss any of these, and Australia are in for a loss in my opinion.

    whoever chases in tomorrow's match will have a real hard time, even if the total is of mere 260. India's chase in WC been really good so far, but in Knockout, they are not that effective, however they have only won 2 games while Chasing in ODI, both time they won WC, quite impressive there. Batting first will obviously be a better option for both! The match is 50-50! India being favourites because of home turf. in terms of bowling both teams are doing good. India is unstoppable and Aus bowlers have gotten really good.
    May the best team win!

    To be fair, even though we are playing pretty poor, we have seen glimpses of what each brings. I agree, I think our bowling looks tired and our batting is hit or miss. Our fielding has improved through the tournament which has helped. Not sure of Pat’s decision making on the field. Why did he bowl Zampa and not Hazlewood at the end against SA? He had 2 for 12 off 8! Finally, if Marsh had taken the catch off Kholi in the group stage, it may have been a different outcome chasing from 4/24…..in saying all that, I think we’ll get pumped but you never know…..

    India has the best batting line-up tbh,Rohit,Gill,Kohli,Iyer and KL..if one doesnt perform,the other surely does!! Whenever Rohit scored below 50,Kohli tried balancing the game and make sure to get a nice partnership with either Gill or KL!! And once it gets more than 100 runs of partnership,it goes berserk with the batting line🔥 the only option for Australian to win(which i pray they dont) is to bowl first and restrict Indian batsmen to score more than 270 runs,if it goes beyond 270/300 runs,it is impossible for them to chase so many runs agains Indian ballers(specially Shami)

      As much as I want India to win I think batting first is the way to defeat us. Like bat first and bat well even a score of 280-290 can be enough given the fact that this is a world cup final and with the advent of winter the odd ball would nip around a lot under lights for the 1st few overs. If that seam movement can get Rohit and Kohli back for say under 50, India would be under immense pressure coz this is a world cup final and up until now in no match has both of them failed together...against Australia Rohit got a duck but Kohli was there and against England when Kohli got a duck Rohit was there. As impressed I'm with Gill, Iyer and Rahul I don't think they would be able to handle the pressure if Rohit and Kohli depart early.

    India has the most balanced team as of now... With world class hitters and equally fallible wicket takers. But the most incredible ingredient in the team uniequivocal "Winning Mentality".None of the players have second doubt in winning... It is as if they already know That the Cup id thiers ....
