Robert always gives his enemies a chance to redeem themselves, to make the right choice. When they don't he has this morbid fascination to look into their eyes as they pass. Great acting by Denzil, just shaking the car keys. Is this a nervous reaction of the character, to clear his mind? Its little things like this that defines a truly great actor.
Why do bad guys always forget that guns are ranged weapons when the hero doesn't have one? No, you do not have to be within arms reach of the martial arts expert to hold him at gunpoint.
Because it's a movie, and because a lot of people are careless. They're more concerned about missing so they move in closer despite giving up advantages of the gun.
I always want to write a movie where the secondary antagonist (the big bad's buttonman) is this chill and relaxed guy who wears nondescript clothings that are stretchy, allowing wide range of movement, not form fitting suits and dress shirts that will rip after one stretch in the wrong direction. Then the opening scene like this he'd walk in with the boss and as they're talking he'd try to whistle and signal the henchmen to move away from Denzel ("you got a gun, don't need to be that close") but he does it too loud so he basically awkwardly interrupts the otherwise tense conversation. Then as the henchmen move away and Denzel looks incredulous he gets shot in the knee and hand by the bodyguard. Then later in the movie you have a fist fight scene where the rookie hitmen sent after him are all wearing suits and they all get torn apart mid brawl and tripping over themselves looking all sorts of ridiculous while our guy who's also worn out but looks fine in his stretchy shirt and sweatpants.

How each of the mafiosi's died Person 1 - clean cuts You can see a wound that mostly resembles a cut mark to his torso, which was probably supposed to be the initiative stab. Denzel later did the face slash, probably after the man had already died. Person 2 and 3 - unclear and wine bottle to the head You can see the effect of a blunt, bloody object hitting the mirror behind the guy being seated on a chair. We can deduce that he was likely slammed against this mirror, then likely stabbed but it is unclear due to the fact that there is no apparent puddle of blood beneath him. However, the man who's laying on the floor was likely hit in the head by the broken wine bottle you see next to him, then simply fell over similar to what happened in the first movie with that Russian guy. The seated person was attacked first. Person 4 - stab wound to the throat You can see a stab wound on this person's cheek, but it is likely Denzel went for the throat. I'm guessing roughly 5 stabs in total, similar to when he killed that old friend of him in Equalizer 2. Person 5 - stab wound While initially it was unclear to me how a man armed with a rifle would die that quickly, it's clear that the man probably walked up the stairs, met Denzel who stabbed him several times until a struggle at the wall behind the person emerged. One minor blooper is that the handmarks on the wall are too far apart, those don't look exactly realistic. Fun fact Right before grabbing the guy as a human shield, the mafia boss is seen shooting in Denzel's direction one time. We can see that the second shot landed pretty neatly, so that first shot should've probably gone in at around Denzel's torso.

Do the YT slo-mo thing and help me count... did the ever-amazing Denzel really get -8- no *10* shots out of a 6-shot revolver? LOVE that guy!
The Equalizer films require considerable suspension of disbelief.
Are we certain it was a 6-shot revolver? Such things as 8-shot and 10-shot revolvers do exist a quick search tells me. Also he used one guy's gun to kill the second guy facing him - as he hinted.
It was a 6 shot K frame S&W or Spanish copy of one.
It was seven shots, and there are certainly seven and eight shot revolvers.
I’d be there like “you didn’t give me enough time!!”
john wick and the equalizer sounds like a great movie title.
also, I never imagined how painful it would be to get shot in the butt with a pump shotty until i saw this.
he has done so many of these scenes they don't even look real anymore
