First of all it's wonderful to see how your videos have developed over the past years. Happy to be one of your many followers. Then I totally agree that the poppit solution is fantastic. Thanks for your video. Keep it up!
Thank you so much. Glad you’ve enjoyed the progress with the videos. This one took an insane amount of time to create and edit so it’s really lovely to hear this comment. Happy painting buddy!
This is such an interesting and good video, I sure do wish this page also had a tutorial on how I could safely change the battery in my VW key. But that's just impossible, there's no way a Warhammer miniature painting channel would ever have a tutorial like that
I've just switched to using a small ceramic dish with 7 little wells for shades and contrast paints. Easy to clean and if I need more colors in one sitting I could always use a second one. The dish is only 4 or 5 inches across. The well are nice and concave so the paint stays in a nice little pool.
Oooh. I’m struggling to find a white one. But I was really worried about the fact they were mostly multi coloured but it ended up not really mattering at all. IMHO white is still better so ill look out for one. Where did you get yours?
I searched high and low on the entire Amazon-net to find a pure white popit and it was near impossible. Now I have an Easter Bunny shaped one and dread bringing it to a hobby painting party with my wargame buddies. Oh well; the sacrifices we make for our image and self-respect!
Hahaha! Tell me about it. Luckily I’m quite confident and don’t really care what people think. But there’s absolutely no way my friends are gonna let this just slip by if I bust it out on the table :-D
THANK YOU FOR THIS VID!!! I really like speedpaint but was kinda hasty and bought a wet pallet for it because research in the correct order is dumb 😆 😅😂 But my kids' button push toy that has just been around for over a year works absolutely fantastic 👏 ❤😊
I've been using a 12" x 2" piece of white subway tile. It works very similar to the popits but without the well. The paint slides off the tile similar to the silicon but sometimes needs hot water to losen the hardened drops. It's also smaller space on the the work station.
I’m glad it’s not just me who considers the space on the workstation. A lot of people are okay with bigger being better, I have a big desk but I still value a small palette :-)
I was having this problem as well. Managed to find a white 25mm/1" hemisphere silicone chocolate/cakepop mould which had 35 to a sheet on eBay (for about 10 times the cost!). Basically works the same as the popits but the wells are about 3 times the size. Great for oil washes too!
I looked a loads of chocolate moulds too! I couldn’t find a good white one I liked. But totally dig your solution I think it’s a great choice too. Well done!
I instantly thought an ice tray would be a good idea. I don’t think I found one that I loved but I bet they exist out there and sounds like you nailed it!
I also had no chance to find a one colored popper. And ended with the rainbow colored. BUT I don't think it's a problem, it's a Pro! You can directly imagine, how the color would look on/next to another color.
What about putting cling film over a standard palette? Once you're done and the paint has cured then just change the cling film? I haven't tried it, just thought of it, but I don't see why it wouldn't work out well.
@@WatchItPaintIt Plastic waste is a definite issue (although you'd probably need to use a lot of cling film before it was environmentally worse than ordering a plastic pop-up palette thing from China!) but I wonder if you could actually gently drape a second sheet over the paints in the palette to try and keep your paints for longer. I love using my Speedpaints (still on V1 for me) but my one gripe is that if you don't use them on a wet palette (which I agree completely changes their properties) they dry out very quickly!
@@WatchItPaintIt ok, so I just made a "new" discovery that will change both your painting and sandwich making forever: biodegradable/compostable cling film exists!!! I can't post a link as I think TH-cam will block it, but a quick Google will bring up loads of brands made from corn starch.
@@mirkyd5944 Holy Moly. You just changed my life! I've ordered some. Isn't going to change the world, but at least I can try and help. Thank you for bringing that to my attention!!
@@WatchItPaintIt No worries! I'll send across my bank details for the royalties from the 1million plus views video that you produce on the the topic! 🤣
My speedpaint palette of choice are those transparent document sleeves. They cost next to nothing and when the paint is cured it just flakes of and if it doesnt i throw them away and take a new one.
I reuse plastic drink bottle tops. I can wash them out with water, and they are good for me with how wide they are and tall. Also, they are free. I'd rather put a few bucks towards a new bottle of paint than buying extra pallets.
God damnit. I searched for ages! Including yesterday to link people but I couldn’t find one :,( you in the UK? They have different things for different countries
@@WatchItPaintIt no, US. The picture of it showed 3 colored ones, but inside the ad it had a lot more colors including white. I'll see if I can find it again
@@WatchItPaintIt ok it's under "push pop bubble sensory fidget toy". Lots of colors including white. I'm already using a light blue one myself, but ordered w of these white ones. I'll see if TH-cam will let me post a link for you
I think you might have stumbled on the holy grail of paint palettes! The poppit palette keeps normal acrylic paint wet for ages...like for as long as you need it. Then you can cover the poppit palette and the paint stays wet for even longer! The poppit palette is also better than a wet palette as there isn't additional moisture watering down any paint. So as well as being the perfect palette for shades and Contrast type paints, the poppit palette is also the perfect normal acrylic paint palette as well. You sir are a genius. I think it's because the little pop pockets act like tiny paint pots so the paint inside the pop pockets isn't exposed to any drying air. This might well be the perfect palette and you should think about claiming the copyright to your 'Poppit Palette' because it won't be long before one of the hobby companies markets this. Last thing to other painters...you can get a 'Poppit Palette' on Amazon for £1.25. Thanks for this video and your time chap. Game changing stuff sir 👏👍👌💪❤️
Has everyone tried out using a Pop It yet? Does anyone have any other great suggestions?
Speedpaint helped me grow 2 inches of length and 1 full inch of girth. Thanks Speedpaint!
:-D I look forward to your comment on every video :-D
I bought a silicone painting palette with like 24 little round spots and I love it. It is extremely easy to clean when the paint dries.
I searched and searched for one. Do you have a link? Feels like a gap in the market at this moment in time
Thank you, good idea. Speedpaint is worth more visibility.
I use a dish to eat snails or a plate with several compartments.

Simple but sounds like it suits your needs so can’t fault it!
I found an 8x8 square white popit that I really love for speedpaints.

Yeah saw he finished his video before me, but I hoped showing a bunch of other things I tried would give more weight to the idea being solid!
Great stuff friend 👏 👍
And to think I almost tossed out my kids old Pop IT this week. I might go claim it now as Dad's.
Definitely do! If you’ve not tried this it’s a really cool palette :D
Pringles lids! That is brilliant. I will no longer need to stock up on tofu containers!

You could get a big square rainbow one and put paints according to color like yellow speedpaints in the yellow wells.
Great minds! I thought exactly the same, but... where would Murder Scene go? :-D
Can you please show how you open a key for a 2014 toyota Prius C? Thanks!

if there is no white pop-it, you can try the glow in the dark or the UV one. they are translucent white on normal lighting.
