- There's a whole lot of colours in the new Complete Speedpaint 2.0 box. Not everyone wants every colour or can splash that amount of cash straight up. Let's have a look at the ones I think you should pick up and try first if you can't or don't want them all.

What other colours do you recommend? 🎉
I have a few 1,0. Waited for 2,0 most wanted. Had these for 2 weeks and I used warrior skin as a brown. ( not many browns in mw.) murres scene as u said for clothes. Gonna order a few more as compliments,saw that yellow was not in stock =( but that noble skin I want.
Runic Grey is by far my most used paint, on my third bottle (of v1). Great for paving and stone on bases and great as a tint over silver metallic.
Wow. I’ve barely ever used that colour at all. Love how subjective our hobby is. I want to try it for stone on bases now. Thanks for the tip!
I use Runic Grey (over light grey primer) for the trench coats of my Death Korps proxies.
runic gray was my first one, and i use if for stone walls all the time. i then use a brown wash and its perfection. i am bottle 2 and headed for 3.
I have been waiting for a video like this to drop. I'm brand new to painting miniatures, and just bought a few bottles of speed paint 2.0 to try it out.
Welcome to the hobby! There’s so many colours in this range and you can’t really go wrong. But I hope my examples and why/when I use them are useful. Happy painting!!!

Caribbean Ocean is my absolute favorite from the complete set! Tyrian Navy, Burnt Moss, and Mummified Grime are ones I find myself using a LOT as well!
Woooo! Mike will be pleased he developed Mummified Grime! What do you use Caribbean ocean for? It’s one I’ve not used on a proper miniature yet
@WatchItPaintIt It's just my favorite color. So far I've only used it for a Draconian Dreadnought, but I could see using it for cloaks or cloth on adventurers and such. I plan on using it for some kobolds/lizardfolk type things later too.
I just got Hoplite Gold and I find myself wanting to paint more gold now. It's such a big improvement from my previous golden paint.
Same! It’s a very pleasant gold to use! I sometimes add a wash to improve the contrast but it’s still my fav gold at the moment!
Peachy Flesh is a must have. I think its the best color for painting skin and those annoying faces for imperial guard armies
You are 100% correct. I never use crusader skin anymore BUT if you thin crusader down with medium it makes the same colour!
Love Rigor Mortis myself. Added a bit of medium and works for a light colored cargo pants tone. Dark wood, Hardened Leather, Pallid Bone and Forest Sprite so far are great to.
Hoplite Gold and Talos Bronze are ones I want to pick up.
Familiar pink is a great colour for filtering and adding saturation to anything Slannesh
I regularly paint with pink, my Infinity Nomads use pink as one of its major colours, and my tyranids use pink highlights on a magenta (purple alchemy) carapace.
It was tyranids that made me mid video edit my pink choice! Been painting up leviathan and pink is amazing on nids! Thanks for the other ideas!

Hard agree on Maize Yellow. It's excellent. I'm also in love with Caribbean Ocean and Carmine Dragon.

The last time I used pink was Purple Alchemy, for the open sores in some Plague Bearers, about 7 months ago.. I was pretty pleased. I still have quite a lot of original Speedpaint; I bought the mega set. I won't be buying more paints until I get more experience with the originals.
Purple alchemy is definitely a good one! I just always wanted a baby light pink one so was very happy we have those now!
Still haven't finished MD2 expansions so pink will get a work out.
murder scene is definitely at/near the top of the new colors for me. such an awesome color! I use it so much I'm going to have to get another one pretty soon. Maize yellow a must have. blinding light, howling sand were quick adds although i haven't used them as much as i thought i would yet. Ditto on some of the new browns: ruddy fur noble skin and warrior skin are decent, but i find myself reaching for the 1.0 standbys that caused me to love speedpaint i.e. dark wood, hardened leather, sand golem.
i keep wanting to get more greens. mummified grime is a must have. i saw some one using it as a orc skin color and i was sold! i got forest sprite but wish i had gone for another lighter green instead.
I have too many blues already but tyrian navy is awesome, so i got that.
occulist cloak is another must have, and i have already used almost half a bottle.
as far as the mettalics i love enchanted steel.
I really like shamrock green for orcs...you could try that one as well.
To your pink comment on use pink on a ton of my projects! My Necrons all have pink hyperphase weapons and guns. I have a few Chaos Knights with Sigvald Burgundy and some brighter pinks. And I am using a few pinks to accent the blues on my Starborne Seraphon.

will the speed paint medium work with citadel contrast for some reason citadel contrast medium has been out for a while now and I need some at a normal price
I wanted to make a quick video testing this for you. But I’m not sure I will have time. I expect it will “kinda” work. In that it will dilute the pigment with clear liquid, in the same way water “kinda” works. It won’t work as intended as the formula for Speedpaint and contrast is vastly different and the mediums are basically the same with no colour, thus thinning the colours you add to them. If I ever get chance I’ll test them to see if “it’ll do” but I expect the results are probably worth saving your money and using water or spending a bit more and getting the matching medium. Hope this helps

can you edge highlight with only white mixed with medium? A kind a transparent white?
Only if you want it to be white…. Which would kinda of work. Actually I’m really intrigued how that might look! I need to go try it
@@WatchItPaintIt I was looking for a cheap and lazy way to edge highlight everything withoug much mixing. I will also try it tomorrow when my paint is dry. In theory it should work, but reality is sometimes weird. Like reality does not want us to cheat.
The irony that I just finished a 2500 point sisters of battle cyberpunk kitbash army in chrome and pink. I do, in fact, use a lot of pink.
The 2.0s I've added so far-Maize Yellow for the win, Purple swarm for all the reason you said, then Peachy flesh for SKIN TONES WOOT WOOT WOOT, boney matter great light brown, and finally from the metallics I tried polished silver for well my silver and went with an experimental enchanted steel-wanted the darker tones for Lord (Darth) Maul's cybornetic legs......it's ok. Will eventually get them all the darker silver and the gold you recomended are next.
Your choices are fantastic too. Genuinely considered just listing the colours you could do without instead of a top 10 :D it would have been easier! I think the enchanted steal is really nice, just I picked the most versatile silver… the middle one :-D let me know what you think to the gold, I think it’s leagues above the other metalics
@@WatchItPaintIt Im having some issues with the metallics getting the transition i see on your paint jobs, do you thin the metallics with speedpaint medium. everything seem to come out one color, even the edges, help me watchitpaintit youre my only hope!
@@Outlawdave71 the metallics are the hardest to use. What I’ve learnt is they separate the most and the fastest! Like we’re taking a couple of minutes after shaking they are separate. You need to shake a lot, right up to the second you use them. And then even on the palette they will pull apart and you’ll end up with just one colour. I stir it constantly with the back of my brush. I don’t think them at all (at least I’ve not played with that yet!) but yeah, just keep it well mixed and paint fast!

Do You prime all models White or Do You use also other colors ?
I did different colours. Some slapchop, some white, some brown. Depends what look I want to achieve. White is the easiest and most simplistic

Can we get a tutorial or at least the paints used on that Eldar Dark Reaper? Looks fantastic and maybe im wrong , but seems to be painted completely in speed paints?
It is! 100% Speedpaint. Sadly the black never got made :-( was a custom one we designed. But Grim Black would do. Blinding light for the white. Murder Scene for the weapons and magic blue for the gems. Hope this helps!

Instructions unclear, bought the complete set for $500AUD :( Though as a new painter, i have no regrets. There is far far too many options out there, and buying all this in a single box from a single supplier made it a lot more accessible for me. Shits overwhelming.
It occurs to me that you sort of despised the Orc Skin in SP1. But I don't see any greens among your SP2 favorties. No love for Ghillie Dew? Forest Sprite? Algae Green? I think any orc I paint will prefer these greens from the new paintline to Orc Skin.
Truth is….it’s all subjective and I just don’t like green very much :-D ghillie dew is actually really nice! Burnt moss is great too! A top 10 list was hard :( there’s so many nice colours!
So not any of the skin colours? Damn can never get a nice result with crusader skin. Be nice to know what other colours you would recommend to highlight the speedpaints when going for speedpainting with a plus 😂 some times its hard to find that matching non speedpaint colour.
Noble skin was on the list! And Rigor Mortis for dead skin :-D I actually use the peachy flesh now all the time instead of crusader skin. It’s much better imho. But it’s basically crusader skin with medium in it! Try thinning your crusader skin 50% and seeing what you think

@@WatchItPaintIt Yeah, skin colors were on my list when I was ordering new paints for myself. I ordered around 10 and 3 were on my list and I was going for stuff which I felt I really needed, like a better white and skin colors - not to mention a replacement for the bottle which spilled :(

@@WatchItPaintIt I do like all the non-metallic colours you chose (Vallejo metal colour is pretty unbeatable), but gillie dew is my current favourite!
My colours are way to watery and thin so ill recommended nothing

@@WatchItPaintIt and i dont like it at all. The coverage is bad. It gets everwhere and you can see trough the colours and even after multiple layers its still not the same everywhere
@@MrDeathraven1987 you must use a wet palette ? the paint is too thin. Otherwise it's not normal
Make sure you don’t use a wet palate and don’t water down your brush. Plus don’t dip your wet brush on a paper towel with any speed, paint types. You can dry off too much and go the other way chalk like.
