*Hello Linux Ort* That is a nice review - so thank you very much for that. These changes all seem intentionally slow - but that does not bother me. I use LMDE-6 - so it will be some time before any of these things are added to LMDE-7.
Maybe Cinnamon 6.4 will also be ported to LMDE 6, but I can't verify that at the moment :) You are right, these are only a few changes. At the moment the Linux Mint Team is working a lot under the hood to ensure Linux Mint will be proof for the futur :)

I am an old world PC guy, technician and problem solver etc, even though I have not done much in that area for decades I still get people asking for help when I am back in my home town, and even in my other career I would end up being the Tech guy... anyway, this version of Mint looks good, though I have to wonder what you really mean by "looks more modern" in reference to the volume slider and calendar. to me it seems this "Modern" look is a mirror of Windows, which is a take from older Apple styles. I agree that the 1980/90's desktop graphics are over due to being replaced, I do not see anything modern in the current ideas from Linux or Windows. none of that is an issue though, for me as i get older, the biggest issue with all computers is the font, the bigger the Resolution of the desktop and yet the fonts still look like standard from 1989. I tried to install this on a 2014 laptop (HP 8370) When I try to boot from the disc I get an error message, Disk error or unsupported disk, please reboot. Something like that. Got any ideas?
@@MarkCorder It's not the disc. I tried 3 different SSDs and I am booting from a USB. I've never had any problems with Linux Mint. I've installed Windows 10 on the disc and that's running fine.
@@Sonya_Makepeace I had this problem on an old HP 6390p. Some OS's after installing and restarting give that message - LM21.3 did (and a couple of others). However some OS's like Sparky linux worked - It could be loaded after installing and restarting and works very well. Linux Mint supports HDMI, I am writing this on an extended Monitor connected to HDMI. But sometimes the monitors attached to don't like linux. At the current point of time this should be very rare though.
If by slim chance you meant the desktop doesn't have a HDMI port You can get VGA to HDMI adapters quite cheaply (make sure it's VGA to HDMI - many of them do HDMI to VGA!) As for the LM itself it absolutely does support HDMI. I Use it regularly and also through a HDMI splitter. Hope it all works out for you.
An easy to use Night Light was well overdue on Mint. Glad to see it. About time too.
Now just XFCE needs to implement it & I will be happy
