Linux Mint is great, I am on LMDE 6, I have an "old" machine with it on bare metal, so no VM there, but there are basic things like dealing with PDFs that are just too much trouble on Linux, and then hardware compatibility issues, and even stuff that is very easy as working two monitors, that I have been unable to get up and running on LMDE

I switched from Windows to Linux MInt 22 full time now and loving it.. I'm tired of all the spyware Microsoft puts In Windows.

Far from it. Every app is outdated, and it's lacking a lot of features compared to modern distros. It feels like you are in 2019, also they keep bashing Ubuntu, yet their whole distro is based on it. If you don't like Ubuntu so much don't base your distro on it or stop crying.

@wooshbait36 I am using Ubuntu 24.04 anyway... Why do you hate mint ?

@@Home-o2v4h I never said I hated it, just that there are much better distros, with devs that put much more effort in it, so it's unfair to call Mint the 'goat'

It's not the entire suite; it's missing Libreoffice Base.

If you want anything more modern to work, don't use Linux Minut lol, they are always behind 5 years on everything. Use Fedora or Arch based distro, or even new Ubuntu 24.10

The title is Using Linux Mint, but we don't actually get to see you really using it until 9 minutes. Could use better editing.

I agree. Should have thought more about the title. Thank you.

I believe they've dropped synaptic from the included apps, which is a shame. Yes, it's old, but it's VERY powerful and useful. Users can add it back in, of course, and I intend to.
