These Shiny Pokemon are Critically Endangered.

- Some shiny pokemon are tied to specific methods in the older generations of pokemon games. Today, these methods are in danger, as 3DS online services shut down, potentially bringing pokemon bank with it in the future. Locking all access to them.
In this video, I investigated the fastest ways of getting all the legendary
and mythical pokemon shiny, tested them, and transferred them all through Pokemon Home to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Thanks for the great content
Why didnt u use a TAS for the frame perfect imputs?
just one quick thing - blisy uses they/them pronouns, not he/him ^^
Lol, there it is!
Heads up, the Deoxys event for Emerald was *not* released for Japanese Emerald, even though it’s still coded in the game.
Don’t know if you care to that extent but figured you ought to know.
I really *HATE* the idea of "Shiny Locked"..
Same.
i feel like with legendaries it should be because they are supposed to only have 1 of each legendary in every world but i do see that people like shiny hunting for fun
@@marshundou-hp3psshiny hunting doesn’t cause there to be more than one of the legendary and they MAKE shiny variants of them
I hate that it takes a long time to soft reset in switch games also. Even if they weren't shiny locked it would be a pain to soft reset this shit. I miss the button shortcut.
I FUCKING LOVE SHINY LOCKS!!!! I WANT TO FUCKING BE BLOCKED FROM PLAYING A GAME THE WAY I WANT BECAUSE GAMEFREAK WANTS TO SAVE SHINY POKEMON FOR EVENTS!!!

High school Japanese made some of this very funny, like "For Tanabata it's whatever this is" and displaying what literally translates to Tanabata
Capital smiley face 😆
the deranged spiral you go through at the end when you realize that none of them have a ribbon is incredibly relatable
25:20 For reference, Japanese has two main alphabets (three if you count kanji, but that's not relevant here).
There's Hiragana, which is the blue box, and Katakana, which is the red box. They both contain (mostly) all the same sounds, just represented with different symbols. The difference being that Hiragana is used for regular Japanese words, whereas Katakana is used for foreign words, or Japanese words which may have a foreign origin. For example the Japanese word for taxi is タクシー which is literally just takushi, taxi sounded out using the Japanese sounds. This is an English word that Japanese people use, so they write it using Katakana.
All of this is to say, that the symbol for he (へ) is pretty much identical in both Hiragana and Katakana. Certain fonts may try to differentiate them slightly, but yeah, this is the GBA we're talking about.
So it's not in fact the same symbol put there twice, it is actually two, near identical (in this case, actually identical) symbols, with different usages, from two different alphabets.
Hope this helps the confusion.
Shiny locking is such a toxic trait of Pokemon and hopefully someday its removed. Having access to so many cool Pokemon each generation only to find out several are locked from thier shiny forms is very discouraging and enraging
And it’s always the ones with the coolest shinies
@@mrperson9838 I've actually gone back to pokemon go to catch shinies since there's far fewer shiny locks
It's as if they TRULY want us to hack and emulate just to be able to freaking play like normal...
except goldengo
im sorry but it probably wont happen. for the future we must use pkhex to transfer these guys.
One of us... One of us... One of us...
Congratulations, welcome to the cult!
Watching someone go from literally zero knowledge, to ultimately tackling one of the most technical applications of the process was a joy. Also kind of hilarious, given that while you were working on this Blisy released the E-Reader event to get CHANNEL Jirachi in Emerald... but the important part is the journey, right? 😅
My favorite bit was when you realized how much fun it really can be. That addictive pull towards competitive shinies, is what ultimately lead to my journey for 5IV Shiny Extremespeed Zigzagoon. Somehow GameFreak inadvertently made the game even more fun, just by writing some bad code.
Seriously excellent video, I feel like a proud Papa seeing Gen 3's content revival through glitches & RNG. Keep enjoying Pokemon with your epic voice.
it’s the rng/emerald glitch guy
One of us... One of us... One of us...
is there an rng for regidrago or eleki?
@@adamsuaid6235 no sadly rng manip on SwSh requires a hacked console and doesn’t work for most encounters
I’m glad that we as a community all have the collective sense of dread at Bank closing eventually.
It’s ultimately what pushed me to diving into RNG & ACE, and I am so glad I did. A box and a half of Shinies later and I’ve finished getting what I wanted on just my English Emerald. My Japanese copy is going to be fun to delve into.
The only problem i can see with RNG manipulation is that every single pokemon encountered on the same frame has the exact same PID, ability slot and nature and I'm not sure if pokemon will make pokemon with identical data illigal in the future seeing as how they made cloned pokemon untransferable in BDSP. So to be safe you might want to do this with multiple save files and TID/SIDs.
Don't necessarily need multiple save files, since you can change the TID/SID with the glitch pokemon. But yes, you can do this as an extra precaution
They can't do that because of Emerald seeding. Every pokemon in that game has thousands of clones across the world.
@@ulqi They can do that because I heavily doubt Pokemon gives a fuck, which is sad.
The spiraling at the end as you go even further for all of this on all of your pokemon... yeah, I know that *exact* experience. My partner has been working on building a shiny living dex for a very long time, occasionally chipping away at it and picking up new pokemon they get. This means that they need some of the very obscure ones, including a shiny manaphy.
Well, I happen to own a copy of the original pokemon ranger from my childhood, and I never did the manaphy event in that game. So I restarted my save file, played through the game, and did the manaphy event to get a manaphy egg to transfer over to a gen 4 game. I'd also recently picked up a copy of pokemon diamond, so it was time to begin. I'd done some RNG manipulation in gen 5 before, so I had a bit of experience. I knew I needed to RNG manipulate the egg I picked up to match my TID/SID, but since I was already going for a shiny, why not *also* manipulate my TID/SID so that I could get one with perfect IVs? So I did. Manipulated the egg, manipulated my TID/SID, hatched a shiny manaphy with perfect IVs and a good nature.
But I mean, I'm in gen 4, and it would be a shame to pass up collecting all of those ribbons...
So I traded it over to my childhood copy of pearl and beat the E4, got all of the day of the week ribbons from Sunnyshore, got the manaphy to max happiness for the footprint ribbon, and fully EV trained it for the effort ribbon. Then there were the contests. Did all four ranks of all five contest types to get all 20 ribbons, and I believe it's the first time I ever completed a master rank contest in gen 4, since I hadn't played the games since my childhood. And then the money ribbons. Spent a few hours repeatedly rebattling the rich couple south of Hearthome city to afford those. Also the first time I ever entered the ribbon syndicate, which was neat. Then I transferred the manaphy over to soul silver to beat red and get the legendary ribbon.
Thankfully, manaphy isn't allowed into the battle facilities, so I was finally done.
But gen 6 has some more ribbons...
Took it to the Kalos E4 after transferring it up, beat all of the super training minigames with it, and fed it enough sweets for it to love me in pokemon amie. Again, thankfully no battle maison. But, heading over to Hoenn, there's more contest ribbons. Already had all of the master rank contests unlocked, so went through all 5 of those with the maxed contest stats I already had from gen 4 (with a little help from pokeblocks since sheen disappears in gen 6), and got all 5 of those ribbons, plus the contest star ribbon for having them all. And the Hoenn E4 as well.
Gen 7 is significantly easier at first, since manaphy is banned from the battle facilities, so just needed the E4 ribbon from Alola. Except that manaphy *is* allowed in the battle tree normal battles in USUM only. I... don't have those games. But I *cannot* hand over a manaphy to them that's only one step from being perfect.
So I got Ultra Moon, and I'm gonna be playing through it to get the one last ribbon I need. I don't own any Switch pokemon games and I never plan to, so the rest of the ribbons are on them to get once this manaphy is in their Pokemon Home. I'm just one step away from them having... one more pokemon in their living shiny dex.
Hooray!
May I ask how did you manage to hatch the Manaphy as a shiny, did you do RNG manip to make the PID of the egg to shiny match the TID and SID of the game you were going to trade the egg to after receiving it from Ranger? Because Manaphy is shiny locked so if you received the egg with a PID that shiny matched your own TID and SID then when it hatches it shifts over one frame to avoid being shiny so can't actually hatch the egg to be shiny from the game you received the egg from Ranger on. I know this because I used PKHex to alter an eggs PID to shiny match the OTs TID and SID but kept being non shiny until I then realised the PID can't shiny match those before hatching so you need to get the egg from Ranger without shiny matching so it freezes the PID to whatever it is then trade it to another game with the TID and SID to shiny match it when it hatches because that PID which is frozen from your original game doesn't shift and then presto it hatches and shiny matches your second game's TID and SID. So did you hatch the egg shiny on the OT game or did you have to then trade the egg? Because I really wanted the info of my shiny Manaphy to read it was from Ranger event instead of saying came in a link trade but thought that this was impossible because of the shiny lock. Thanks in advance for any info!
You are AMAZING. Say, any specific reason you don't want to play the Switch Pokémon after having such a beautiful mind that understands these Pokémon game things? It even has some pretty cool games as well like Metroids and Mario Wonders and so many other fun ones (don't have a Switch because I'm poor but always watch videos of others playing and I imagine it's me)
Wow I didn’t think my limited coding knowledge would help me understand this slightly. That’s incredible this game has been decoded on SID for determining shinies.
About the Scar/Viol snack legends: another possibility is that the shininess of the legendary could've been determined when you get the snack, and Gamefreak just wanted to save our sanity, given that the snacks you get are already rng based
I would have been willing to believe that if they hadn't already shinylocked literally every possible legendary in SV, and then some. They just couldn't be bothered trying to make static shiny encounters work.
That's literally the motto of the Switch games, right there. "Pokemon: We couldn't be bothered."
@@Zyart I mean, considering they had less than a year to focus all development on SwSh or SV, I'm not surprised at this point.
28:00 all of the data actually survives. While it seems met location is scrubbed when you check in Home, checking the same Pokemon in PKHex actually shows the exact met location from Gen 3. All the data is still there, for some reason they just dont show it for Gen 3 and 4.
This is the reason people plays emulation and ROM hacks... Nintendo pushes fans further from the fun of playing which hacks keep for the fans sake. They truly, masterfully shoot themselves in the foot. It's like they want us all to straight up hack and stop using their official stuff.
I was fortunate to have found a Black2 copy with a shiny jirachi on it. It has since made the transition to my switch.
Seemingly, PKHex also doesn't have a special flying Pikachu distributed by Japan's national airplane company among their travellers in its database.
Side note: one Pokemon that will definitively become extinct is the special Pichu with a weird ear that cannot leave the Soul Silver/Heart Gold cartridge it was downloaded to.
EDIT: 25:36 the reason why it's one symbol, two codes is that the red page is for katakana and the blue page is for hiragana, and that symbol (he) looks the same in both due mainly to it coming from the ame kanji through the same simplification; in manuscript and higher definition fonts they do look slightly different (katakana looks sharper), but portable Pokémon games use fonts with los pixel counts.
At least Spiky Eared Pichu is in Super Smash Bros Ultimate :)
Just like Papa Jefe and im a blisy, you managed to take a topic I didn't think could last 35 minutes and make it interesting for 35 minutes. Let's hope we can get your subscriber count to the funny number soon!
I just want you to know that watching this video caused TH-cam to recommend me videos about endangered real animals and now I can't separate the other guy's voice from the concept of extinction.
7:34 down right adorable head boop. Awesome cat.
24:17 for the Tanabata Jirachi, the OT name you inputted, “タナバタ”, means Tanabata lol, you’re inputting the name of the event just like the others
Haven't even given them an artist ribbon each? Not nearly enough...
All jokes aside, great video, it was a cool journey =)
I ended up doing the shiny Japanese mew hunt myself a while back. You can use English characters to nickname it but only get 5 characters to use, so I named mine “T r u c k” In honor of ridiculous playground rumors everywhere.
I forget how confusing Japanese can be at times, I couldn't imagine going through this not knowing any of the characters. Great video, btw!
The Deoxys will not show as legal in pkhex if you catch it in japanese emerald because the ticket for deoxys was given out before emerald released in japan
so if you want a "more" legit deoxys you would have to catch it again in your english version
Hearing him complain about groudon taking an hour and a half while I’m 17,250 resets in with no shinny rayquaza. Just 320 hours with nothing to show 😊
Damn more time Ive logged total on bd
Really cool video! I just started gen 3 RNG myself, after being exposed to it in BDSP using a camera to get all the Pal Park legends shiny. I’m currently on a MUCH less complex RNG journey, on my homebrewed 3DS with a virtual console copy/ROM of Fire Red. I’m aiming to complete my Shiny Legendary dex in Home which requires over 50+ hunts. Most of them are RNGs in gen 6 and 7, but the few I cannot get with those games are being done via RNG manips on Fire Red and spamming tries at Dynamax Adventure raids. So far I’ve RNGed Deoxys once, but now I’m aiming for “decent” stat spreads with maybe 1 or 2 IVs I actually want and the rest random, all while maintaining my SID, for consistency. After I finish my last 3 Deoxys forms, it’s on to Navel Rock for Lugia and Ho-Oh, and back to the Seafoam Isalnds, Mt. Ember, and the Power Plant for the birds. Only then, will I be able to charge into Cerulean cave and pick up my shiny Mewtwo.
To get my non-Go shiny Mew and Jirachi, I’ll probably look at Blisy’s eReader events and the process for injecting them into my homebrewed 3DS for completion on my VC version of Emerald.
Nintendo needs to make their next console have emulated versions of these games on the estore that are compatible with home
Great vid, and your cat is adorable. Was very happy when you both headbutted each other very early on in the video lol
in bdsp you can get shiny rayquaza, darkrai, the regies, and a lot of others because they arent shiny locked. but it takes a lot to get them
edit: you can also get shiny acrceus (take a look at nokimon's if found a shiny but didn't have a masterbal sieries.
Shiny hunted the arceus in bdsp, took about 4200 resets. Named it Big Dave.
or you can RNG manipulate Shiny Arceus in BDSP 😈
@@PapaJefeYTspread the good word papa!🙌🏻
Bend RNGesus to your will!
I guess he's covering Darkrai and Shaymin in a future episode since if you weren't able to get the items for their events, you weren't able to encounter those pokemon at all. And he seems to be going over all the games on a new save file so he wouldn't be able to get those events.
And I guess the beauty of these videos is seeing the beautiful mess that is glitched Pokemon games. So we can most definitely expect to see the tweaking glitch used (if done on Diamond or Pearl) or the DNS exploit used (if done in Platinum). Either way, it should be a fun video.
@@PapaJefeYTthat’s what I did with your awesome guide!
Nintendo and gamefreak/TPC making L decisions over and over and over since the 3ds came out. Shutting down 3ds servers was a massive disappointment, shutting down pokemon bank is a huge backwards step, making the games in unity and straying even further from the 8bit art style was one of the worst decisions. As a pokemon fan since pokemon red, I can’t stand the disrespect that has been shown over the past few years.
Dido.
I've never shiny hunted in my life and only ever gotten one shiny back as a kid in pokemon Y, I can't imagine the dedication people out in to get them.
"why not hack / cheat device" etc is a concept people cant get their head around. Following this RNG process is just ...interesting. Its like people taking apart a toy and putting it back together
30:08 dude RNG manip is indeed addicting. once I caught my first shiny, which was Swablu like 4 days ago using Pokefinder on Pokemon Emerald, I was hooked. Got a shiny Rayquaza today as well.
23:50 if only
I will never understand people who are so against people doing rng manip and not cheating the mons in, by the sound of it it still sounds like it still requires effort and is satisfying when you get that right
Very funny the part of explaining how the Katakana and hiragana work on the GBA never saw that before. Those are for specific sound you want to sound for the name like for example: Figari (Fu+Lower case i)(ga)(ri)
25:15 this character べ ベ _be_ (pron. “bay”) is different because the one is in _hiragana_ and the other is in _katakana._ That's literally the only difference.
Me and my PC Tohoku shiny Jirachi that I got in Japan: look at what they need just to mimic a fraction of our power
Curious what you’re going to come up with for generation four because I’m doing a cute charm glitch playthrough of platinum and I’m currently soft resetting to get shiny origin form Giratina.
While going through all my old Pokémon games I found a Shiny Hoopa in Alpha Sapphire that I had forgotten all about! (That I don't think is legal! 🚨)
Also Shiny Shaymin is coming to Pokémon GO next month with Sinnoh Tour! ✨🦔
Yeah is not legal
Your videos are so insanely elaborate, I fkn love it 😂
I caught shiny Mew, Latios, and Ho-oh in Japanese emerald through RNG manipulation ( I used the event distribution cartridge (R4) for the old sea map, Eon ticket ( had to record mix with Japanese Ruby)and the mystic ticket). Still need to catch shiny Lugia. I chucked a masterball at Mew. Latios took me a few tries but I got it in a timer ball.I caught Ho-oh on my first attempt at the last possible turn with a great ball when it was paralyzed and about to struggle itself to death.
Who else is in the 'my favourite pokemon's shiny has never been legally obtainable through any means' gang?
seeing a regice bounce around for a treat looks so stupid lmfao
Just so you know, those symbols are not accent marks.
They dont change the pitch, they change the consonant that is pronounced. へ(he) べ(be) ぺ(pe)
Yes...the reaaon I don't play Pokémon GO no matter how much I want to, is because it isn't a complete game...but an "official" scam money grab pay to play...so greedy it never stops... It's just so sad my inner child is always sitting on the imaginary swing at night all alone looking at the floor, silent, and saddened face like a puppy...
The fact that nintendo is even letting this happen is criminal, they really dont care about the older fans at all..
If you want to get Jirachi, there is a code that changes the roamer to any pokemon you want. If you change it to Jirachi, you can also manipulate the pokemons PID to be shiny whenever it is encountered.
When you catch Jirachi, you can then use codes to change catch game, encounter type, and pokeball. I did this to catch the 3 Johto dogs, modifying their data to make them appear as purified shiny shadow pokemon from Colloseum.
I think what kills me about doing all of this is that shinys are so easy to get in modern games (to the point they dont even feel special anymore), but legendaries are shiny locked so this is just the only way to get some now without just cheating. It is very funny
I myself shiny hunted the hoenn dragon legends for fun with the eon duo in HGSS and rayquaza in sapphire. I have now started moving them, and my living dex to pokemon home
fell for the legends meme and now im 1000 magikarp in. still waiting for that mass outbreak
You actually can get old events without a time machine, you can inject a wondercard and you then get the event from the delivery man. It works exact same way as Nintendo does it.
The OT of the Tanabata Jirachi is "Tanabata" but in Japanese. Also thanks for making this video. It's clearly very-well researched and nice to have all the information in one place.

Heard bank could close eventually. Now I have to grind my ass off after taking like a 5+ year break
It also made me sad/happy that feebas was introduced in the newest DLC. I had a legitimate shiny one and it was just super neat knowing i had a digitally restricted commodity.
I’m so glad I was able to do this before any of the services shut off, hacked in a ticket for deoxys and took me 8,794 encounters to get him 😭
i wish nintendo could give this guy a reward but then i realise nintendo would not be happy
I managed to get shiny Deoxys last night in LeafGreen, way under odds. My greatest shiny achievement. Brought it up to Violet now.
I have a Action Replay with these events, its time to get boxes full.
I just found your channel a couple hours ago, fittingly enough whilst watching your Indigo Disk 100 sandwiches video I caught my first Tera Raid Den shiny. It is a shiny Palafin, it’s been like two hours and I’m still shocked. It is on my Violet save file, where I don’t have the shiny charm.
Shiny Charm doesn't actually affect the Shiny rates for static Pokemon / Tera dens
Shiny Tera dens are slightly more rare than base odds (I think like 100 more than the base)
@@anonanonymous9670 Huh, that’s really cool because the day after I caught the shiny Palafin I found a shiny Shiftree also from a den

These journeys are fun. Ive been reclaiming past pokes from games that were stolen or lost when i was a kid.
Somehow had pokemon from gen3- the 3ds generations for me and all my brothers. Even coliseum i had data! Got the sid/tid from external sources(Im sorry!!) And ive been reclaiming what once was legitimately obtained, and only replicating what is known by memory or the natural progression of the story, and all imperfect (not making any competitive ivs or shinyness, they will be as natural as possible) Its cool me and my brothers get to have all our old pokemon again with the real trainer data attached.
fun fact shaymin in BDSP isn't shiny locked but the one in legends arceus is
RNG manip is something I’ve only ever scratched the surface of but when I got a shiny Arceus in BDSP doing it, it was SO satisfying. Genuinely one of the most fun things that’s happened for me in Pokemon in the last decade would ironically be in those otherwise terrible remakes haha
I love how my cool shiny jirachi is going to be completely devalued by pokemon go
I tried the "1/60th of a second looks like this" pause, and missed it by 1 frame twice
This came up randomly in my recommended, and I'm so glad I clicked it! What a fantastic video-instantly subbed :)
Seeing someone else going through the pain of reading katakana is oddly soothing.
Seems like Pokemon bank is actually available for free after the 3ds eShop got discontinued, and they say they have no plans to stop offering it.
12:47
Can you please say more snacksworth quotes? Your voice fits him so perfectly I rewatched that segment like 12 times
The fact that my brother gave me two event shinys. You see I clicked because of the Jirachi in the thumbnail, it doesn’t seem like I would get banned for having the shiny form, also did aceus a shiny event?
My wife has a box in pokebank full of shiny jirachi she gotten throughout the years. It’s her fav
16:52 I doubt you care that much, but to explain:
Uppercase characters are a standalone character, while the lowercase ones are modifiers to the character that comes before it. Most of the ones that have uppercase and lowercase are vowels, and since Japanese is a syllabary all the characters represent a syllable (for example, ト is "To") the lowercase characters change the vowel of that character (ト: To -トア:Toa -トァ:Ta). There smaller smiley face represents repetition of the consonant that comes after (サ: Sa - カ: Ka - サッカ: Sakka). The larger smiley faces represent a variety of sounds from tsu to shi, but they're all different characters
There are two types of diacritics or "accent marks" as you call them: " and °
Most characters represent voiceless consonants (K/T/P etc.). The " diacritic turns them into voiced consonants (K->G - T->D - P -> B etc.)
The ° diacritic is kinda inconsistent, but it usually turns "h" sounds to "p" and "k" sounds to a nasal "n" and I think it also works in the opposite direction (?)
I know most people probably don't care, but at 25:24 the reason why the character has 2 different index numbers is because Japanese uses 2 different "alphabets", despite the second one just changing what the symbols look like and not the what they actually sound like. I won't explain the reason why, but the two are called Hiragana and Katakana and some symbols for both are either very similar or just the same, so that's why that symbol has 2 different indexes (despite having them share one index would have been more memory efficient AND CHANGES NOTHING)
I don't' understand like 90% of the things in the video but damn is it entertaining
11:50 Regi Virtual insanity
Sometime in the early 2000's, I convinced my dad to get me a Colosseum Bonus Disk off eBay. It cost like $20 or something and I paid him back. I'm very glad I held on to that one, I had no idea what a good investment it was at the time.
Even knowing Japanese Kana, the GBA letters are somewhat hard to decipher, so I feel bad for people who don't know anything, it just makes it so much harder for them to even comprehend
I'd prefer to NEVER own a single shiny pokémon if all of them required all these NONSENSE to be encountered
Bruv just discovered every Japanese student’s frustration with hiragana and katakana “he” (the sound, not the pronoun) at 25:41
You know, someone for some stupid reason traded me a shiny deoxys in bdsp. And all he got was a non shiny regigigas.
I’m still on like step two for the shiny jirachi quest on go because it requires you to have 10 best friends, which takes literally forever
Darkrai and Shaymin are huntable in brilliant Diamond, the only two things locked in that whole game are mew and jirachi. Even Arceus can be shiny hunted. Excellent video though Trails!
I couldn't find an answer to this in the description, but how did you screen record on a GBA? Did you mod it, or is there some external tool making it possible?
DS capture card, the OG DS. Streams the video to the PC through a USB cable
Don’t worry guys. I have over 100 of these with perfectly hacked ID’s that can’t be detected as fake
Proud owner of a legit shiny Deoxys hunted on leaf green which is now in Pokémon home 🙌
Fun Fact: there are literally only two pokemon in the entirety of BDSP that are shiny locked. Only two. Can you guess which ones they are?
I believe there is a chance of getting the English faraway island mew legit, which is why PKHex does not flag it as illegal. The Old Sea Map was released in Japan "only" but also in Taiwan for the release of one of the movies. Pokemon games in Gen 3 were not released in Chinese or Mandarin and since people in Taiwan do not speak Japanese, they most likely would have the English version of the games. Which makes the Old Sea Map on English Emerald possible legally. It wasn't released in NA or Europe but it almost certainly was released for English games in that country which is all that's needed to claim an English faraway island Shiny Mew "could" be legit.
shiny jirachi, mew and shaymin are event exclusive for pokemon go, but all the dexoys forms are regularly featured in raids, so they won't be too hard to get through pokemon go.
As someone learning Japanese a few things:
- the small smiley face is used to double consonantsnin the characters
- the へ is different because ones hiragana and ones katakana, stupid, I agree, but there's at least an explanation
- the タナバタ translates to tanabata (the characters itself is just tanabata)
Managed to get myself two event shiny Jirachi back in the day. They have been gathering dust in my poke home since I transferred them.
You forgot to take them to every elite 4 of every generation leading up paldea
So much love and dedication for Gen 3 RNG manip, amazing video.
Even if Pokémon bank/transporter shuts down, you can still shiny hunt them, you can't send it to Pokémon home. It would suck having them stuck in the game you shiny hunted them in.
I have to sub but I have some questions. Was this all Emulated?or did you use a game capture on original hard ware? 2nd how did you transfer pokemon if you did emulated on PC and my 3rd being how did you put it into the new games Arceus. Thank you and great video.
Shiny Shaymin and Shiny Darkrai aren’t shiny locked in BDSP! Only problem is they were time limited events (without hacking or glitches). I hate BDSP but I love Shaymin, and so I hunted for it there! Got it back in like October I think, so worth it
Shaymin can still be obtained in BDSP without events if you have a cartridge on version 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 and don't update the game until you catch it: those versions let you reach Flower Paradise through the Surf glitch.
Once you have the update data on your Switch however the only way to go back to those old versions is to either format the console or use a different one without the update.
Why does it even matter if one can only access them through hacking if one does not already have the event item? The event item never expires anyhow, so no one can know if you activated the event legit or not.
I was a pioneer in the swsh raid community hosting shiny raids with ideal competitive stats. Had a triple switch setup hosting them on twitch, good old seed generators and raid finder. Getting seeds and skipping to frames with ideal stats for the pokemon and hosting them, it's nice to see someone do something similar for previous gens and also getting enjoyment from catching them. I did it for myself originally then eventually i started doing it as a favor for others who just wanted to hop right into competitive with legit shinies they could catch in their desired pokeball and have their own ot. without the need for hacking etc. RNG manipulation truly is fun. It's a nice feeling knowing you have legit copies of things and have the ability to get them relatively easily in comparison to the more traditional method.
Correction to your video because I've done this on an English copy of pokemon emerald. Anything spawned into mirage island using ACE EXCEPT celebi is transferable. I was able to get everyone from gen one to three except celebi using ACE. I would also highly recommend covering gen four RNG manipulating. If you thought gen three was tough gen four is a pain.
I’m sad they removed shiny legendaries in SV
semi hardcore GO player here. Took me a whole year to unlock Shiny Jirachi, on top of £5
25:20 there’s a reason べ has two different indexes. Sorry if someone already said this I just can’t help myself. There’s two alphabets in Japanese Hiaragana and Katakana, they make the same sounds they’re just used for different circumstances. The Blue page is hiragana whereas the red page is Katakana. The thing is the sounds for he, be, and pe (へ、べ、ぺ) are the same character in both alphabets. Why this is? Idk, every other sound has a unique character in the different alphabets, I guess へ is just too sexy to not be in both.
As to why they are different in the code compared to spaces, uhhh I’m not a coding expert, but it could be that the game categories the indexes of the characters different depending on what alphabet it’s from since they’re *technically* different characters, even though they look identical.
