    Good update Dave. Same shower as mine, except mine came with media already in half and in the tiers.
    Stiil had to take it all out as it was bagged up.
    Good quality and excellent service from JS Koi.

    Very good Dave👍 just finished setting mine up with the media. Mine isn't as deep as yours though, think the tiers on mine are about 200mm deep and 900mm wide. Exactly the same shower though materials wise. Only difference with mine is I decided to go with the Burtons media, only reason being I thought it seemed to have better surface area.
    Take care bud👌

    Showers looking good and the pond is as always!! I'm trying to work out if I can justify the extra for a Burton's stainless or go with the js koi for the new build can't make my mind up yet! Or afford either for that matter 🤣

      Ah thanks for the great comment. Go for a diy jobby to tide you over. That’s what I did until I could justify the cost of one. Expensive but a great bit of kit 👍🏼

    • @edenkoipond
      @edenkoipond  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Darren, thanks for watching. I run a varipump at approx 17000 litres per hour. 5000’ish goes to my tempest and the rest through the pressure filter and into the bakki. Will look to get a bigger pump in the future 👍🏼

    Who's footprint is that on the bakki shower lid 😱?? Could you get airline valves so you can control how much air is going to each area? There's a lot to be said for DIY showers and filters etc, but sometimes saving up for something can be part of the fun too and it looks amazing. Have a good weekend 👍

    • @edenkoipond
      @edenkoipond  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Saving definitely makes it more worth while - we just won’t eat for a few weeks 😂 Yeah, they do valves. Need to make sure I get one ordered otherwise I’ll forget 🤦🏼‍♂️ The footprint would be the clumsy owner 😂

    Really nice shower there 👍🏻. Will the filter floss in the top tier reduce the effects of the media there?

    • @edenkoipond
      @edenkoipond  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In theory it will slight hamper the sporadic pattern of the water but nothing I’m concerned about. I reduced the media in the top tear and upped it in the other two to reduce the effects. Thanks for watching 😊👍🏼

  • @paulcurrell8546

    Very nice looking shower, but you put the media in all wrong! It has to be left whole and then put in nice neat layers! ;-)

    Good update like the new bakki What you doing with your old one? I’m trying to find a tray for my diy bakki shower but struggling.

    • @edenkoipond
      @edenkoipond  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s sat at the end of my garden. The tray I just made myself. I made a frame out of 18mm exterior ply, 9mm ply bottom and then treated with outdoor paint. The bits that water would touch I covered in some roofing felt I had. A few months later I had some sealant paint left so covered the felt - been grand for a couple of years now. It’s here if you want it 👍🏼

    Nice video Dave 👍
    I got my Bakki Shower (2 tier, 1.5m wide) from JS KOI. They also supplied the same media, which I broke up and placed randomly as you have done.
    Did you rinse the media before putting it in?
    Just put a net over our pond, attached to inch and a half pipe. Made it in 3 parts, so that it's easier to lift off. Pictures in Instagram.
    Hope you're all well.
    Stay safe.

  • @Wrighty

    Great vid Dave, love the new shower 👍👍 believe it or not, but water coming out of a shower, has less dissolved oxygen than water going in. Have a look at this: th-cam.com/video/VIzGGurDkmA/w-d-xo.html take care and stay safe mate, Terry.

    • @edenkoipond
      @edenkoipond  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great video - I’ve subscribed. Really interesting stuff, you would think it would increase. A bummer as I’ve only just upped my air with the extra pump and discs 😂😂

    • @ces69
      @ces69 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s because “The Nitrogen cycle” is oxygen hungry and strips the oxygen from the water. The fact that there is less coming out than going in would suggest it’s working well as a filter to me!
      It’s also why it’s important to have a high flow rate through the shower, I would think at least 10,000 to 15,000 ltr’s per hour on a shower that size!
      The drop when it breaks the surface re entering will no doubt help put some back into the pond.
