The VQ40DE uses almost the same fuel consumption as the VQ56VD, there's absolutely nothing special about it other than saving on initial purchase and then having a sluggish slow car. I own the VQ56DE patrol and I'am happy with it clocking 320,000km with no issues. The only major thing that I replaced is the radiator and power steering assembly which broke due to jumping hard on large speed bumps in Dubai.(Note: The steering assembly leaked oil but it kept working fine all the time, the service advisor said it can only be replaced which is much easier and cost effective).
I just bought a 2020 Armada (68,000 miles) basically for its Tow Capacity (rated 8500lbs), I'm not as concerned about Fuel Milage as we use it primarily for fun (tow our vintage car) Sure would be great to get 22mpg as we did with our MBZ Sprinter Van but the Armada is more comfortable.
Can u please tell what all maintenance you have done in detail and at what mileage??? Are you in uae sir kindly let me know which garage you go for services. I am not able to find a good experienced garage in uae for my Nissan patrol y62 5.6: please 🙏🙏 help your comment matters
It's hard to answer this question, sir, but we must admit there's not much reason for joy. Take a look at the new QX80, and in my opinion, it's a large luxury SUV that your wife should be driving. I believe that if the company makes a new Patrol based on this SUV, it will be a fiasco, but there is great hope that a different platform will form the basis of the new model, and then there might be a chance to look forward to the new Y63. However, if you are a fan of a big V8, I don't see much point in waiting since the new Patrol will likely be the last V8 for this model.
All Direct Fuel Injection engines can suffer inlet port carbon build up as the fuel and its detergents no longer 'wash' the ports and the back of the valve.
If I cannot drive a Mercedes-Benz Geländewagen, it will have to be a Patrol. Toyota uses engines from Yamaha, Isuzu and Mazda. See, I do my homework. Also, unlike Landcruiser, Patrol has proper diff breathers, just like the G-Klasse.
Please provide some sources that says Toyota uses engines from Yamaha, Isuzu, and Mazda. Those 3 manufacturers are some of the only that have a chance at making as reliable of an engine as Toyota genuine designed engines. Add Honda to that list it’s a top 5.
It would be interesting to make a video about these cars. The GX460 has an excellent engine, but it's very important to service it properly and wash the radiator regularly. As for the LC150, with the right engines, it's tough to break this vehicle.
@@thelonglastexpert I do have a 2014 lc150 with the 2TR-FE has been amazing for the past 10 years 0 headaches but very weak on power, Should I upgrade to the Infiniti QX80 2017?
@@galaxyphone7784 The engine is quite reliable, but it's important to understand that direct fuel injection leads to carbon buildup on the valves, which needs periodic cleaning. It's hard to imagine a VK56VD engine going 500,000 km without a stretched timing chain or some other issue; such an engine requires maintenance, but with proper care, it shouldn't pose problems up to 300,000 km, as many issues have already been addressed by the manufacturer. You should understand that when buying a Armada with this engine, you're primarily buying power.
@thelonglastexpert great explanation, appreciated it. I think one or two carbon cleaning procedures and a possible replacement of the chain should be ok, I guess. Debating between the Armada and the 5.7 V8 Toyota Sequoia, both have their advantages, just like the Armada over the Sequoia.
The Nissan genuine automatic transmission fluid Matic-S for the Jatco automatic is horrendously expensive, compared to the genuine Toyota WS fluid for the LandCruiser 200 Series AB60F transmission.
My Toyota was serviced on schedule, but the gearbox main shaft bearings, the centre bearing and the differential all failed 400km/250mi out of warranty. I was on my own. Never that appliance crap again.
The Y62 had nothing to do or in any relevance to the old Armada. One is a pickup based car, the other is a Land Cruiser competitor. Only relevance the name Nissan
Just like any modern vehicle, it has some issues. BTW, our 2016 250kw supercharged D4 is still a better car than a Y62. Only 300 bucks soent on bushes in 5 years.

V6 hasn’t even been released yet.
