    💯 agree. Never thought I'd need a backhoe, but I've used it more than anything so far.
    If I were to make a video about this tractor, this would be it.

    We have 6 acres.. and just got a 2022 BX23 with backhoe/forks/9" auger/bush hog/belly mower and grapple.. seen loads of comments online about the "average person" can't afford one.. maybe don't be average then? 😛
    It's an incredible tool that pays for itself over time.

    Nailed it!! The BX 23S is a great way to accomplish many task with one single machine.

      It really is. I can afford to own one of each of the best machines for each job so this is the best alternative. 👍

      I cut my teeth on my buddy’s BX. I’ve had that thing in some places on our hills that would make the TH-cam safety Sally flip..🤣

    Nice machine! I have a 1981 Kubota B6200D. Stick shift.
    What I like best about my machine is:
    1. The loader. How have I lived for over two decades without one? Whether for moving dirt, installing a dock gangway, moving logs, spreading gravel, or as a wheelbarrow, it is so useful, especially now that I have converted it to skid-steer quick attach. Pro tip: get pallet forks!! I promise you'll thank me later.
    2. Plowing snow. I used to plow with a pickup and snowbear plow, but it was big and hard to maneuver. I put the plow onto a skid-steer plate and attach it to my loader, and snow-plowing is a total breeze.
    3. Power and torque. That D850 develops a whole 15 HP, which sounds like very little -- but it's almost always more than enough. I can finish mow up a 30 degree hill in 2nd gear, high range -- no power issues whatsoever. I have even towed 2 ton+ trailer loads with it. It may not be the fastest but it gets the job done. Usually, I have wheelspin well before stalling the engine.
    4. Four-wheel-drive. On steep hills and rough, rocky terrain, it makes a massive difference. No getting stuck.
    5. It is not too big. I have the power I need to do what I want to do and can get into tight spaces.
    I don't have a backhoe, I just borrow my brother's 2-ton mini-excavator when I need to do excavation.

    Hi Lucas from Bloomington, IN! My new 23S was just delivered 3 days ago and your videos played a major role in my buying decision. We put the little beast to work the day we got it and it has been fantastic! We also have a Kioti CK2610 (300 hrs) and have already come to realize just how many tasks are easier, faster, and better suited with the BX. Thank you for your videos; I’ll always be looking forward to the next one.

    I bought the same setup but in blue .
    My New Holland Work master 25s is a Work horse for what it is .
    I have a 10 acre Homestead and she does everything I ask of her .
    And you are right about the backhoe .
    I bought mine as a package deal with the backhoe installed financed all together.
    I so glad I got the backhoe with my tractor.
    Something I would regret not having .
    And Something I don't think most people would go buy separately.
    God bless .

    Lucas, i only have one regret with my 2017 BX23s... i wished i had of bought one with a backhoe decades ago. This is the first sub-compact i`ve owned with a backhoe, and this BX is the most handiest, most versatile tractor i`ve ever owned in all of my life. It continues to this day to be trouble free, not one single issue, and it is the MOST used tractor on our property`s. You hit the nail on the head when you mentioned price. I`ve always been a john deere owner for 60+yrs, until i went to see what a Kubota cost. John deere couldn`t even no way come close in the price. Since i bought it in 2017 (first model year for the BX23s), i am still to this day, very happy that i bought one. My dealer called me recently, wondering if everything was ok because he had not seen me in a couple years... i said, yes, everything is fine, and the reason you haven`t seen me, is because this kubota isn`t broken or falling apart. And no, i don`t need you to try to sell me a new one either, lol, this one still runs like a brand new one. 😊
    Thank you for the video Lucas, everything you said was 100% spot on about the BX23s. Its the perfect machine for people like you an me, and also so many others. There`s a reason K is #1

    Lucas: you have said it all. I use it to lift the heavy things that I used to lift when I was a lot younger. I am in the process of building a large shed to park it in. No more trying to take the loader off on the ground. Yesterday I actually washed it. Not a full detail like Ross did. Just a hose down. Take care and stay safe.

    • @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead

      That’s a good point. It isn’t always about production. Sometimes as a homeowner you have to compromise speed for affordability.

    Hello Lucas, let me ask you how often do you grease your mower deck bearings and all the other fillings on your mower deck? Let me know please.

    • @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead
      @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead  ปีที่แล้ว

      I try to clean up and grease the deck about half way through the mowing season and again at the end of the season to prep for next season.

      @@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead a gentleman that I talk to from Kabota 🚜 told me that you should grease the bearings after every cut because I was doing the same thing you would do it twice a year agrees he said no after every cut that way your burns won’t burn out🔥

    Nice tool. Can you pull the 5' disc easily? King Kutter makes a 4.5 that looks good. Wonder if a 1725 Massey could pull it?

      A backhoe sounds like a good idea but I was always wanting to use 3pt. And it was always in way. 6.5 sounds long vut wasn't deep enough, and theres so much burried cables that with the insurance and Dig-Rite I sold it and made the new owner very happy. Me too.

  • @faulltw
    @faulltw 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Another great video and agreed. So many people told me I didn’t need a back hoe, but there is so much you can use it for not the least of which is digging a hole. How many times do you need to dig? Turns out a lot. 😉

  • @dwoodog
    @dwoodog ปีที่แล้ว

    I bought my BX2380 last year. Didn't get the back-ho. One critique I have about using this tractor as a lawnmower. If you have lots of hills the tractor can feel kinda tippy at times. Second, if you have lots of trees and obstacles in the yard to deal with..... well IMO can't beat a zero turn.

  • @PineyGroveHomestead

    Do you think this tractor can pull around a 2500 pound logsplitter around pretty easy?

    • @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead
      @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a big ole log splitter! Lol. I really don’t see pulling it being an issue at all. Just keep in mind that the tractor weighs less so stopping it or holding back that weight on a hill could become an issue.
