If your budget makes having both a tractor and a skid steer or a mini-ex impossible, I can see buying one of these. A matter of economics. But for me, having to turn around backwards almost 100% of the time to see what's going on with this unit would be a nonstarter. When I finally do get a mulching head, and one's in the near future I hope, it's going to be situated in front of me to where I can see it without putting a permanent kink in this old neck!
Especially not in places like the state of NH where we’re known as “The Granite State” bush hogs take a beating around here, I could only imagine one of these things.
@ the carbides handle rocks better than knives but they leave a much worse finish and are a lot slower. A full set of knife teeth for my mulching head ran about $1,400
Lucas, that thing is a beast! I noticed the safety glasses right off, so I knew things were going to be flying! I just hired a company to come in and thin out some of my property because my little Deere will not run a machine like that. I need a bigger tractor! Happy New Year! God Bless
Nice introduction and demonstration video 👍 I've never used a mulcher, but it sure looks like fun 😊 I'm looking forward to future land clearing videos.
Most of the big stuff could be used for firewood. The tiny stuff I would mulch. Have fun mulching away Lucas. PS: freezing rain and rain here in Petawawa, Ontario today. Then mid 30's the rest of the weekend.
People who have land, and plans for it to include clearing, but can't swing $11K, they are in for a rude awakening if they hire out the clearing tasks, including brush removal via mulching, burning, or hauling off. Maybe land ownership, including having a homestead farm, just reared its true colors, and that person can't afford the country dream. It's always a balance, and for some, it's just doesn't pencil out.
I would love to run one of those but I have no real use for one. Rotary mulcher I could justify one of those. I’m pretty sure that or a stump grinder is next on my list. Looks like fun.
Lucas, love your channel. I hope you don't mind but I have a question that's not related to this particular video. It's been a couple of years since you installed your air compressor system, and I'd like to know how well the PEX tubing is holding up. Have you had any trouble with your system?
i have a 2022 TYM T494 pretty much the same as your 4820. when the mulcher flings the trees under tractor is a skid plate a must? it looks real easy to fabricate 1/8'' steel to frame. unless you got deep pockets and want to buy one for a grand?
I have found that the chain attachment on this model does really well and keeping the brush slowed down or at least low to the ground if it comes through to go under the tractor. I will find out more as I use it…
You're doing a fantastic job! I need some advice: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
NO doubt cool, but for a cool 11 grand the decision to purchase a novelty attachment should be evaluated carefully. If you a clearing the land for a structure you want a machine that can remove all the roots. You can rent a 100hp dozer for about $500 a day and absolutely decimate a clearing job. How often will most use an attachment like this? After the initial clearing the space can easily be maintained by a brush cutter. The you are left with 11 grand taking up space.
I have a hard time reading comments from all the "Ag Economists" who run numbers to suggest this attachment just can't be right for YOU. It's your call, and if $11K pencils out, with all the land you have, it looks like a tool that will not sit idle. Worst case? You use it, decide it's no longer viable, and sell. Used mulchers, well maintained, are tough to find, meaning they command a decent market price. Just do you, Lucas. Maybe your son will get skills and clear small areas for hire, and put money back into the farm.
Yeah, I don’t sweat that stuff. Here is the thing, I demonstrate equipment. Some people will have a need for it, others won’t. Baumalight isn’t asking me to convince everyone it’s the right tool for them. The people that have the money and the need for it will see it and make their own decisions. It’s all good.

I use to run a forestry mulching business, don't buy a head, hire the work, it is NOT worth the headache, trust me

Hi Lucas, I hear that Baumalight is coming out with a smaller one designed for a 25 hp tractor. Thats what i am waiting for.
They say the right tool for the job. You just proved it right 👍🚜😎
Yeah, it’s an amazing implement!
One of those is on my wish list for sure!
It is so awesome!
I think you can take that stump! I've already worn out a set of teeth on mine. Get to work!! Tractor Hard! 🚜💪!
I’m sure it will. I’m working my way up to it. Trying not to break anything. This thing is amazing!
@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead Lucas... are you with us? Lol.. That doesn't sound like you haha
lol. Man I’m so proud of this nice equipment, I am just trying to be good to it!

Yeah, sometimes hiring it out is the move!
Hi Lucas, that was cool! Thanks Bauma light for helping out Peeks Peak.
Thank you! 👊

Thanks, yeah, it is going to make clearing pasture a lot easier!
Nice machine. You have a more realistic size tractor for it than other channels do.
Thanks! It’s a beast of an attachment! Going to help us do some big things!

We are having crazy warm weather here in Kentucky. It was 63, sunny, and I worked outside in a T shirt all day!
@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead Lucas:
I can only dream about that in this weather. 🤓
Good morning Lucas!
Good morning!
Awesome tool...for people with a ton of cash or credit.
These machines aren’t cheap, but man, what they can do! This would open up real possibilities for making money on the side.

It is wonderful, but not many can afford $11K
Keep in mind a production level skid steer equivalent is $40K, $11K is a lot of capability for the price

@@gckshea best way to spend $11K on land clearing is a rented excavator and a bunch of diesel

This is a specialized piece of equipment. If you have a new piece of property and lots of clearing to do, this is the tool for the job!

Thanks for the kind words. The PEX is great! We haven’t had any failures or issues. We love it.

Careful with that monster, I've watched 3 youtubers break their tractors with that thing lol

Why not to think about turbo charged engine?

Chainsaw and bushhog works just fine a lot cheaper
