If it helps, I've had a pair of 12" P2s since April 2016. I don't have a way to accurately measure how much power I've run to them but they still sound good. They take at least 90% of their rms power each time I play them.

Maybe the dust cap when it vibrates so hard & fast like that, possibly causing the popping noises. Kicker I noticed has been placing that designed cap on most of the subs like that. So far most of the Comp. Or solobarric subs that seems to be the place with the most wear, after constant use.
Just picked up 2 of these in a box for $400 from a homie He had them in an SUV and I remember how fuckin loud they were only on 600 watts I have them on an CXA1200 watts so 600 a piece which is their RMS and they sound sooooo good Love them Love kicker 😎

I have 2 of them wired down to 1-Ohm stable (Nemesis NA-3000.1KOR ) amp that maxes out 3k watts RMS (according to specs) at 1 Ohm. My old setup was 2 kicker L7 12’s old school dark gray finish with smooth curves (the fkn classics) which I believe I was pushing 3500-4000 watts rms range split to both & never had issues! (I know the RMS they’re rated is in a safe range & under powered a bit)
So I’ve had a CompQ for a year before, and when it wasn’t broken in, the sub wouldn’t play when the beat hit hard. Over time it stopped. So I think kicker makes either all of their subs or some of them “blow proof” so it’s harder to blow them. I could be wrong

What would be a comparable sub to this one in a different brand? I am talking about comparable specifications and sound output. Mounting depth being a pretty important spec.
What ya find out?
@@traewilkins8890 Not much really. Dayton audio has a couple subs I was looking at that will fit in smaller enclosures but I have not had time to pull my current sub to check the mounting depth of my enclosure. I have a shallow enclosure that sits under the back seat and it is hard to find a full size sub that will fit in it.
Not that im a fosgate fan but id like to see a punch series p1 p2 p3 if u ever get a chance.
Definitely love to see a p3
yea same cause ive heard good things but have never seen a review
If it helps, I've had a pair of 12" P2s since April 2016. I don't have a way to accurately measure how much power I've run to them but they still sound good. They take at least 90% of their rms power each time I play them.
yes he should skip kicker its the worst series ever fosgate expensive af but worth it
Im a Rockford fan. I got the t1s and a t2. Kicker, Alpine, Phoenix Gold, Memphis, Jl, Rockford, Mtx. Thats were I think they stand with kicker being at the bottom.
Nep audio classic! They still have some on the site. $150 shipped
Maybe the dust cap when it vibrates so hard & fast like that, possibly causing the popping noises. Kicker I noticed has been placing that designed cap on most of the subs like that. So far most of the Comp. Or solobarric subs that seems to be the place with the most wear, after constant use.
Just picked up 2 of these in a box for $400 from a homie
He had them in an SUV and I remember how fuckin loud they were only on 600 watts
I have them on an CXA1200 watts so 600 a piece which is their RMS and they sound sooooo good
Love them
Love kicker 😎
This one looks like a daily banger
Retest in the smaller box!
What amp would you recommend for one 12 for best rolling bass
I had an older kicker cvx it hit pretty good for what i bought it for only about 150 bucks
hey man, love your vids. could you do some vids reviewing some of your subs in sealed enclosures?
Since I've been running a sundown audio x18 I have a different view of lows LOL 🤤
I agree! For kicker tho this did alright
Running a X15 v.2 myself. I know what you mean. I've never experienced lows like I have with this X15.
@@girthquake9655 word up 😁, everyone gets to enjoy my music with me I like to share LOL 😶
@@ParkerTheBasshead right , it's hard to go back after you get used to bass that shakes everything and you don't really hear it , it's actually really cool as I'm sure you know hahahaha
I sat in a car with Zv4 sundowns and i agree Sundowns the lows kings 😂
I look for clear sound I've had fi audio and Rockford but the l7 and the cvx are my favorite
what's the song at 7:10 👀
I know you have some nice mids n highs but for the other viewers out there looking for really decent budget components check out the Recoil brand stuff on Amazon.i needed something cheap to get me by in my car, ol lady roached the left infinity reference 5x7 so I needed something quick n cheap (6.5 swap in a 95 mustang gt with diy adapters bad call as far as quick n easy) so i rolled the dice and grabbed up the echo series components for $40 and I am quite surprised and pleased they look n feel pretty good and they sound great, the tweeters and crossovers are actually heavy.. only problem is a 6.5" swap in 95 mustang gt, theres lots of finagling to get em in there solid. But That's on my choice of speaker size.
I've always loved kicker
I mean the popping occurred after putting the wattage past the rated wattage no?
Think the popping was from it not opening up since it was brand new ?
I have 3 of these subs. They are a steal
Seems this one just needs a little more XMax. Other than that sounds great! Thanks parker!
Yeah I agree
@@ParkerTheBasshead I believe if that sub had a magnet with a little more depth to it, it would be quite a nice sub. But for 230 dollars I believe this sub is a ripoff lol.
At that 14:30 minute mark. When you say 1,600 watts…. Is that RMS????? I have 2 of them wired down to 1-Ohm stable (Nemesis NA-3000.1KOR ) amp that maxes out 3k watts RMS (according to specs) at 1 Ohm. Is that what I’m doing to my subs??!! 🤣 because I don’t want to k!ll them 🥲 got a epicenter & it sounds amazing but I’m thinking of selling them/ trading + cash for a kicker Solo X 15. Anyways I know I went on a bit of a rant just hope you can clear that up for me! 🥲 Also just subbed! Not sure if you have any videos on the kicker solo x but I’ll go check if you do or don’t but if you don’t please make one!! I love kicker they haven’t let me down! My old setup was 2 kicker L7 12’s old school dark gray finish with smooth curves (the fkn classics) which I believe I was pushing 3500-4000 watts rms range split to both & never had issues! (I know the RMS they’re rated is in a safe range & under powered a bit)
Awesome videos I enjoy your contentGreat job with the comparisons keep up the videos appreciate it
I'm in Bakersfield Ca and if you check out our local offerup, there is always a shit load of kicker subs for resale.
Thanks for clarifing its not running this time..
In my country kickers very expensive so not a Fan BUT some of their stuffs okay. Good vid Parker.
That XV2 there in the back... Pure perfection
You gotta get a solo x and really push that amplifier!!!
I plan to!!
I 2nd this
its going to be a disappointment 😂
Great Job would Love to see Alpine ,Rockford Fosgate, and a couple others unless you don't go there
I want to get 2 of these what amp should I use if not trying to burned them up.
So I’ve had a CompQ for a year before, and when it wasn’t broken in, the sub wouldn’t play when the beat hit hard. Over time it stopped. So I think kicker makes either all of their subs or some of them “blow proof” so it’s harder to blow them. I could be wrong
you are horribly wrong kicker will blow in 10 seconds i blew a boss audio and it took more then 1:00 minute to blow kicker 10 seconds
@@thaboiimarcos9459 which kicker sub
@@ragextico same exact sub
@@ragextico the cvx
@@thaboiimarcos9459 well I’ve only had the CompQ
you should do one for the tranchula t5 they bng i got 2 12s by soundstream
Awesome video as always. Please please please someday review some Rockford Fosgate and or DC Audio.
Could you do the American bass hawk 1244 review? I’d love to see it in action . And an in depth review
I was just about to comment the same thing. Also would love to see how it compares to the AudioPipe TXX-BDC4
Not a fan. Kicker still trying to sell their name. Way better subs out there in that price range.
could you recommend any 12inch sub thats around $250?
@@peachbucket9629 Skar svr 12
@@jmoney1467 wow that is actually good one, I’m going to probably buy it thank you
@@peachbucket9629 i love my deaf bonce sa272 12 around 250 bucks and twice as much performance than the cvx... i use to love kicker 20 years ago but the price is such a turn off for me, better and cheaper options out there than the whole kicker line, except maybe for the l7
All those other subs look cheap af. Kicker is quality and performance if set up correctly.
Comp q 😱 love your video definitely like 👍 more people need to see these videos you put out thanks
Comp Q should be in tomorrow! Will try to get a video on it up as soon as I can. thanks!
Might be the voice coil hitting the backplate. It happened to me on the original 12w3 20 years ago.
I currently just bought two of them what’s a good amp to run for them? Any recommendations I would appreciate!
The only reason i would run the kickers over all those sundown, America bass, deaf bounce. and not worry is for the marine applications. what other sub on his table can withstand the elements with a paper cone foam surround. For powersport applications having to wash off your equipment After offroading. Cant use any other sub in this price range with those power ratings. Would love to see any other brand make waterproof big subs for a can am or rzr.
only reason why im considering this subwoofer is because of its ts parameters. thinking about slapping this in my camaro and building a custom box for it. i want to keep everthing light as well as i get into street races often so the big 300oz magnet subs like i have in my honda arent going to be helping me out in my camaro what so ever, lol. tryna keep the power handling low but im going to swap to a lithium battery as well, should keep my voltage steady playing full tilt @800w without adding any weight, even losing some.
name of song @ 7:10 would really appreciate it
So did the sub play lower then the other kickers ?? Or did the box play lower then the other one you used on the other kickers ??🤔🤔🤔
@Parker, or anyone who has 1st hand experience.... Which sub is better all around and for what reasons when comparing this Kicker VX 12 to an Alpine Type-R 12?
Yes been waiting for this one 😎👌🏽
I have the CVX models right before right before them they are black and silver. I can see there's some upgrades to the sub you have for my eyes but I can also tell your xmaxx should be a little bit better than that I think that's subwoofer could be defective
At full stroke damn near 3 inches of travel. But also it could be the box or just to wide of a port. But that's my opinion it's the subwoofers
Was lucky to find a 12” CVX new for $130
What about the Square kicker New one almost out now looks like a true Monster
Brand new in box in plastic with warranty for 1 year the hole 9 yards. I can get just about every kicker sub for atleast 50% off
L5's or L7's...?? I'd love to own some L7's again on day.. Especially the 10"s

Yoooooooo Do alpine series next
I’m pretty sure that subwoofer was defective
Nope common kicker issues with the cvx line. They don't start really sounding loud till they start slapping. 🙄comes form the coil slapping the backplate because it's not deep enough also if they added another spider it would help it handle better without popping as quickly on power
@@taylormade5217 Doubt it, never had that problem in my life... it was probably defective as that guy said.
@@analogaudiorules1724 I've ran kicker since the late 90's believe I'm not claiming to know it all but I've done over 50 kicker installs dealing with kicker as well as knowledge with rebuilding subs 🙄😑😒That i put money on .Kicker cvx/cvr had 3 well known issues ,that coil slap and weak spiders and well as tinsel lead failures. I've had every model they have ever made all the way to the solo x 18s which was the only ones I can say kicker did a good job on .They L7s are good for what they are as well. But when it comes to price point kicker is behind. We will see what they're new x talking about soon.
@@taylormade5217 Ive reconed many woofers, ive recapped and restored numerous vintage power amplifiers, ive built crossovers myself for multiple driver arrays "not just simple 2 way 12db per octave crossovers" i have a lot of experience myself, i have had little to no issue with kicker.... To each their own... I can't speak for their 90's gear, but ive tried a handful of their comp subs, as well as seen quite a few friends use them as well, never had an issue other then one time... they are not my first choice, but i can say i have never had one of their coils go out on me unless horribly abused, never had a spider crack either, had one become detached at the tripple joint, but that was after a few years of heavy use and it wasn't mine, so i have no idea how it was takin care of.
@@analogaudiorules1724 It was not defective it was bottoming out that box is bigger than what the sub calls for.
I have one. Tbh, it's surprising to hear matched with a kicker CXA800.1.
Is the blackbrick cone coming apart already?
Awesome video 🤘🏻🤘🏻
What kind of batteries are you using? Cause thoses limitless ones are to expensive but I'm sure they are worth the money
When it was popping were you rolling into it or were you just pressing pause and play?
Definitely need to put something behind your license plate to stop that annoying rattle.
