    I got mine from banggood and there was a little metal clasp thing. I had no idea what it was. That is exactly what it is for. The proper metal clasp to add friction to the throttle, supplied with the transmitter.

      Yep, there were changes from the feedback from reviews like this. Great to see vendors fixing things that needed attention.. Happy flying!

    Needed this video. Huge thanks for making it. Mine didnt come with the spares needed and I couldnt find a quick/easy method where I'm located to 3D print the clasp. So I cut out a strip from one of my spare cleaning cloths, stretched it out and screwed it right over the rocker. Rocked the stick about a hundred times to make sure the cloth doesnt slip off the rocker. It stays in place and now I have a perfectly balanced rocker and the stretched piece of cloth provides a nice little haptic feedback from the ribbed knit.

    Just got mine today off amazon. Mine came pre bound to the RX, And also with a friction plate for the left stick after this mod. :) Thank you for all these great helpful videos. I always feel like i can trust your information. Thanks Mate!

    Thank you very much for this mod. I’m using the fly sky for my rc yacht (Dragon Force 65). I used a cut down cable tie to create the friction. Works beautifully if you use the ribbed side. Also just glued the rocker down.

    I don't know if anyone has mentioned this here... but, in addition to having a friction clip included with this radio now, I noticed that the screw in the throttle spring mount doesn't have to be removed. It is actually a tension adjustment screw. I just grabbed the little mount with some needle nose pliers, pulled it up out of the rail it is in. The other end of the spring just slipped off. That little rocker arm... I found that I could just lift the "bottom" of it out of the cradle it rests on, and with a slow firm pull it slides out. Anyway... all your videos have been such a gold mine of info!! WAY better than the "really experienced" guy at the hobby shop I goto when I need a part now. Thanks for your work!!!

    excellent video and series. I just bought what must be the new version this week and although they didn't remove the spring by default, the package did include a metal gimbal which seems to work like a charm.

  • @gamerpaddy

    nice, this spring makes changing from mode 1 to 2 or back easier than the fs-i6 where you need to switch the sticks compleetly

    Thank you thank you.. You have the best videos for this I am so new at this.. Got this done with no issues and instead of a plastic piece to make they give a small metal piece with screws to act as friction.

    Thanks so much. This specific model wasn't in the build I was following. Apparently FlySky was listening because they included a metal bridge with 2 bolts.

    You are star. Nice and easy mod. I actually used cable tie to put a pressure on throttle and its working perfect. Thanks for your video. I used solder gun with smal round tip to melt holes for screws at the end of the cable tie.

    This radio is really nice after the firmware update. I bought this for a friend who flies Naza V2 with only GPS mode, so the spring on the throttle is a big plus for her.
    The spring on the shoulder slider was not good since the DJI H3-3D doesn't support the "relative" rc-imputs like for example the storm32 does. So I removed that spring and wau. I perfect radio for a beginner.
    If you have the time. do a removal video on that too. It's a VERY simple mode which will help everyone with a H3-3D.

    please note the later made ones come with a 'kit' in the box, its a piece of bent metal and two screws, this is used on either stick to restrict the return of the stick to neutral, its a simple mod, but doesnt involve having to remove the spring and rocker arm :) less hassle!!!

    The latest i6s has a metal strap in the box for a gimbal brake so you can have a non centering gimbal

  • @davidclark2733

    The redundant spring and rocker part removed will get put in a safe place and if you ever want to reverse the mod, where you put it will be long forgotten. Hot glue to the rescue ... stick the parts inside the case out of the way. A dab of acetone on the glue makes it release instantly..

    Hi.. Great tutorial video but in my case I have the turnigy tgy i6s and the throttle is just like a normal radio but I need to put a spring in it to make it self centre but can't find the spring or rocker peice for sale anywhere do you have any idea..

  • @toml.8210
    @toml.8210 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Futaba sold a spring, which was just a bit of springy metal with a small bump on one end and a screw hole on the other, so maybe you could just use the same part on the new transmitters. Otherwise you only need something to put a but of friction on that toothed area.

  • @snakebisonfarthead
    @snakebisonfarthead 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I reccommend super glueing a piece of a 2 liter with some painters tape for friction on the two holes

  • @stevenbeaumont6731

    I think they put a spring on both sides because you can easily go into the settings and choose between Mode 1,2,3,4. I don't think I have ever seen someone fly mode 3 or 4 on a quad. However on a couple planes I built I did use mode 4 which would be throttle/rudder on left stick and elevator/aileron on right stick.
    I like that setup because you can fly just fine without using a rudder on a plane with bank and yank plus I have more control with my right hand for rolling.

    This radio transmitter is setup for an altitude hold model only.
    It's the only reason to put the throttle on spring. IMHO
    A piece of a zip tie with the toothed part can do the job. The steps can be an issue by the way.
    My Robbe one, in a far, far, far away past (and galaxy), worked quite well in this configuration.

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      All the spring does is return the throttle to the 50% position. See our videos on the Naze32 where we cover Altitude hold mode. You need to set it up in Cleanflight and have a FC that includes a barometer..

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Tx is good for the money but is aimed at newer pilots. Not sure why you'd need a spare Tx but this is one we've used with success with a few models here..

    • @Ard1400
      @Ard1400 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @Painless360

      You still need to then bind it with the model, setup everything etc. then change it all back with the other radio.. A lot of hassle potentially. Best of luck!
