And in that test or in the real truck use the triton is the torquest amongst the group which is excellent for pulling/towing despite it being a complicated poorly designed engine that mechanics hate to work on them but they can be bulletproofed built right better than when it left the Ford plant (GM guy)
Such as shame since the 2 Valve Triton was bullet proof. We've had half a dozen of them and they all hit half a million KM . We just fired up our 2001 f150 Mud Truck that was in a field for 5 years , put away covered in clay . New battery and she fired right up.
All these years later and I see that now too. I can't believe I didn't notice that. I'm guessing anywhere there is a comparison test involving trucks, he kind of just appears.

@MPLSTORM Interesting. My family works for the state in the repair department (shop 6). We work with 100's of these trucks every year, from street-use to the forestry ones we use on more dirt roads, and I can say the exact opposite. We get the dodges coming into the shop probably 3:1 vs our GM's and Fords. I'm actually a Dodge fan, but you won't see me standing behind them in the reliability department compared to other brands lol. Can't comment on the 08+ models, as we work on 00's-07's
haha then there must be something wrong with mine. it has 4:10 gears, i would expect it to be alot faster but it isn't. those dakotas are pretty fast, knew someone that had the 318 in there's and was fairly fast also
exactly GM has the sierra, the silverado and the C series like the C5500...ford calls all there full size trucks from f150 up "F series trucks" thats why they can say its the number one selling truck in the USA.....sorry to burst your bubble but thats common scene... nuff said
I dont know why people have to talk badly about the Tundra, First off I find it funny that people keep labeling it as an import when its made here in America out of more american parts than Ford or Dodge (fact). If you still want to call it an import just because the HQ is in Japan then you all are missing the fact that FIAT which is an italian car company now owns all Dodge affiliates and is the only reason they are still here.
@ProAudioBill Love your comment, but it is just so hard to let go of the past when we the consumer have been treated so poorly by American dealerships. Are there good American car dealers? I am guessing sure, have i been treated well at most American car dealerships? no. Foreign car dealerships treat me like they want my business. American dealers r paying for the past and when you look at how much these trucks cost today, Americans should be treated like there buying a Mercedes Benz.
@Jasshands1 Im in canada as well. And i can say the same, ford seems to own the roads, lol. Though its not uncommon to see dodges and Gms. I live in a logging town, so their are lots of people with trucks
@ProAudioBill Oh shit i forgot that you had to type with formal style in youtube, sorry for that. The big three have adapted well to the american market, which has been greatly influenced by european and asian cars. American cars have practically no presens outside the US. Isnt the Ram's new hemi like capable of 60 in about 6's and under that for the single cab? I would of assumed with 390hp it was the most powerfull and quickest there, dont think that was mentioned though.. :S
The reason I know that the Tundra is more american than either Dodge or Ford is because i am head of sales for the southern US for a company that manufactures packaging and shipping solutions for EVERY auto manufacturing company and a vast majority of Ford and Dodge packaging and shipping solutions come out of Mexico...why is that? because all those parts are made in Mexico. Consumer Reports does THE BEST durability/ reliability testing around. Check it out. Facts don't lie.
