You are ABSOLUTELY right. Their lyrics have this way of making you listen and feel them. They get so much hate, but they have wonderful messages in their songs. ❤❤
"Discrimination now on both sides, seeds of hate blossom further. The world is heading for mutiny, when all we want, is unity." Good lyrics stand the test of time and are relevant in any decade.
To Whom it May Concern is my favorite by Creed, this is second. They have a lot of great tunes, My Own Prison should be on your list to check out next.
Most people don't even know of To Whom It May Concern's existence because it was only on a movie soundtrack. Great song though. So is "Bound and Tied" from a different soundtrack, and also "Is This The End".
Man I had this greatest hits album and this song always made me feel like I was at the ocean on a clear blue sunny day, I did grow up on the east coast not too far from the ocean so maybe that's why but the song just makes you feel something and you're not quite sure what it is...
Jay and Amber, ya all get it. As a teen in the 80s I had lots of friends in high school. All races, backgounds and religions. Rob, Tony, Janet, Sam, Brian just to name a few. I imagine you cant tell by their names what their color is. It didnt matter we were friends we were all one, no differences. The media is designed to drive a wedge. Luckily for us on the web. We can still all be one. You yourselves are spreading the word thru the music. Your doin your part and I hope this long comment made ya all smile!
It's not the media. Geez what th is wrong with you? I went to school with only 2 families of color in the 80s and the racism was so prominent then. Police burned a cross I front of my ex husbands family's home, the school wouldn't allow his brother to walk with his graduating class in the 70s. I don't watch the news but I know that when drumpf was resident his rhetoric allowed people to start hating again. It's not a media issue. I have raised 7 children of color and they don't watch the news either but have been traumatized by racism. I was traumatized by watching police brutality at a young age. So where the heck do you get that the media does this? You are so dead wrong.
It's a shame that racism and separation must be kept in play for Democrats to hold power over us all. Too many politicians on both sides are power mad, and we are caught in the middle.
The media, politicians, the communists, academia are driving the wedges at a feverish pace. Like you, I was also in high school in 1987-1991. All races at my school. No problems. We were all good friends. Now all these entities have our kids hating eachother. Crappy times!!RESIST!!!
@@Braysha1011Have a fantastic time! Seen Scott many times along with Creed! Will be seeing Creed in Cincinnati and Cleveland Ohio on this Creed Tour, will be epic!
Mark tremonti, is the lead guitarist and backup vocalist who also wrote most of the songs for Creed. You should check out more of him in his other bands. Alter Bridge and Tremonti. Guy is ultra talented. Blackbird from Alterbridge or Throw them to the Lions by Tremonti are both great songs.
Wonderful Band Meaningful Lyrics Great Vocals Killer Guitars Great Bass Lines Killer Drums Glad Creed is back together again getting ready for a World Tour
Guys you have to listen to my own prison. I know you'll love it and get the deep meaning. I would suggest you get the lyrics or album version because for some reason the official video is edited. I love watching you react to so many songs I grew up on that was the foundation of my childhood. You guys never miss the meaning of these songs especially Amber. Bless you and your family
Divide and conquer. That's how those in power get us. Race V. Race, Old V. young, Straight V. LGBTQ, ETC... We are ONE, and WE should put our so called 'leaders ' in their place.
Dropping bars is an understatement... I've heard this song since it came out and it STILL hits hard, every time. When you are alone in your car and having a bad run... this song will bring tears to your eyes no matter how many times you've heard it.
Wow...this brings back memories when I first heard this song in early 2000, it was so fresh; and yet had no idea how our world was about to change...this is more of a banger than I originally thought.
I grew up as a teen in the 80's i was white living in a black neighborhood, next to Oakland ca. many of the kids were cruel BUT one of the cousins saw me as a helpless soul and befriended me, protected me and to this day she is one of my best friends. She respects me builds me up and even if we dont see eye to eye on everything it does not matter we can look past that and remember our shared past. ❤ all this BS of separation is driven by an agenda. Turn OFF the lies, we are better together.
yeah the only thing that it matters your race on is medical paperwork and thats because medically we can be slightly different and be predisposed to certain diseases and so on based on our birth sex and race. other than that there is absolutely no reason race matters
Fantastic song off this album. Fun fact: This song was Creed's 1st Live performance, on Letterman. They goofed the intro and started playing before he was done introducing them haha. To this day 1 of my all time fav bands. Stapp and Tremonti's solo stuff is fantastic, and the form of Alterbridge was also amazing. I was introduced to Creed back in '97 and have been a huge fan since then. They're currently doing a reunion tour after 14 years.
This came out when I was in High School. I was in my first year of playing guitar when this was on the radio! Around the same time that Foo Fighters were becoming huge. 1997 was a very interesting year for music!
This is how i found Creed as i was in my car and I just droppend out of College and did not know what i was going to do next and it cam on the radio......Seen them now 21 times in 12 cities in 3 countrues, I am so glad you did this song for personal reasons.
Scott Stapp wrote this song 🎶 at 20, he was so on point! This song is completely relevant for even today! I love ❤️ this song! Keep the Creed coming! Going to see them on this 2024 tour in Cincinnati and Cleveland Ohio! We need CREED, super excited about seeing them all together again live! Show’s are selling out better get your tickets 🎟️ Fantastic reaction guys! Please do My Own Prison, Weathered and Torn🙌
I just discovered this channel and I'm loving it! I'm 55 years old and all the 70s, 80s and 90s music you guys are reacting to was my childhood right through my 30s into my 40s. It is such a treat to relive the music that I loved so much through you guys as you hear it for the first time! I listen to a few music reaction channels but I love how the both of you have such an "honest" reaction to the music! Since you guys really love Creed, Scott Stapp's voice, and especially the message they convey, I vote for the next Creed reaction to be"What's this life for" although "My own Prison" is a great song as well... Keep it up, great channel!
applies even more today! one of my favorites of theirs when it came out. it's so true and the line "when all we want is unity" is really what everybody wants (at least in this country). but the media and politicians are pushing for the opposite.
This is one of the places I come to when the craziness of the world gets too much. You guys always have a positive message. Thanks for using your platform to propagate happiness.💝
If you want to keep going down this rabbit hole you should check out What's This Life For, My Own Prison, Don't Stop Dancing and Torn. If you want to get a little harder check out What If and Bullets
Rob & Amber you still have some truly amazing songs from creed you’ve not heard: 1st Album: My Own Prision, What’s this life for, or even Torn!!! 2nd Album: What If 3rd Album: Hide, Rain, Don’t Stop Dancing And for real Creed fans there are other hits I left off this list, but this is mainly what you have left to get to!!!!! Have Fun!!!!!
Can't believe you haven't enjoyed My Own Prison! The song that broke them big-time!! Actually any song on that album is good; but the title cut really hits home!
Hard to believe this song is over 25 years old and fits life more today than when he wrote it. I see others have suggested you check out their concert as they are on tour again. I've been to 60-70 shows in my life and Creed is definitely in my top five best concerts ever. There are other bands like KISS or Def Leppard who put on bigger "shows" as far as the special effects, lasers, pyro, etc., but other than maybe Damn Yankees, no one SOUNDED better live than Creed. I just hope this reunion tour they're doing now leads to another album. By the time their second and third albums came out, I was at the local record story when they opened on release day. Both times, they hadn't even opened the boxes to stock the shelves and had to go get my CD from the back room. By the time the fourth album came out, the local record store was closed so I had to preorder it from Amazon.
Yes, ONE is so relevant today. And Sis you are hitting the nail on the head!... Creed is my very favorite band, and I finally get to see them in NOVEMBER!! I thank you for seeing and recognizing their talent!! Suggesting "whose got my back now "th-cam.com/video/WFi2yS0LTas/w-d-xo.htmlsi=DFg4jaLgT0WikS4j
Creed is an American rock band from Tallahassee, Florida formed in 1994. Creed was prominent in the post-grunge movement of the late 1990s and early 2000s, releasing three consecutive multi-platinum albums.
Out of Creed's 4 studio albums, only 13 songs had official videos, so I'm glad to see you picked one without a video this time. Maybe alternate as you go through their catalog. This song was released in 1997 and hits just as true today. On a side note, My Sacrifice, the first Creed song you heard, was released not long after 9/11, and the line "We've seen our share of ups and downs Oh how quickly life can turn around In an instant" really resonated.
I think you both would like Alter Bridge which features most of the members from Creed minus the singer. Blackbird would be a great one to start with for them.
"Discrimination now on both sides, seeds of hate blossom further .. The world is heading for mutiny, when all we want is unity" .. music can unite us, despite how hard the government and the media try to divide us!!!
This song definitely hits very hard today and it hit hard then as well!! The lyrics are timeless because these things have happened throughout history... We need unity now more than ever!! I love ya'lls channel!! God Bless!!
People hate on things they don’t understand. Creed has ALWAYS sounded amazing and the band produces thought provoking, positive messaging. Positivity is not limited to the religious. The hate on them became so real and prevalent the band stopped making music … the success the haters had was simply preventing us getting more from this band that SLAPS. It’s unfortunate. Thank you for seeing through it and continuing with CREED, as I enjoy feeling good and feeling good is what happens when I hear their music. 🤷♂️
I'm not waiting for or calling on others to change, I'm doing my part. That's all I can do. That's all any of us can do. I love others, include others, respect others, help others. Why wouldn't I?
POWERFUL song! I think its important to understand that bad news sells but in the streets away from the media theres more we have in common than tears us apart
You all should try Torn by Creed. That's probably my favorite Creed song. First song on the first album. I see My Own Prison suggested, that's a good song too.
If I remember correctly, Torn was the usual concert opener on the first tour when they hit it big. Either one of those songs should be the next one for sure.
I'm putting in a new candidate for favorite song by Creed. My nomination is Higher off this same album. Another great one, from the Greatest Hits LP is My Sacrifice
This band is back together. And touring. I hope they make a great comeback because I love this band. If we could just love each other, no race no I am better than you this would be a wonderful world. Please let's try to make that happen. The person on the street wanting. a hand, give them a buck or 2 they need a helping hand.
That is so great to hear!.. I seen them back in the day when My Own Prison came out at the Madison Theater in Peoria IL back in 96 or 97.......they were GOOD!....And we could get close to the band....I'll never forget it!
The entire My Own Prison album was amazing. It came out my senior year of high school. I wore this cd out and still to this day I can stream the entire thing without skipping a song. I’d recommend listening to the title track My Own Prison next.
Thank you for reacting to this song !! It is now more relevant than ever today with a divided country. We do need more unity for sure. You are both awesome, keep up the great work !
One this sort of topic Tom Cochrane & Red Ryder (not sure if it was before Tom Cochrane started breaking out of the group or not) did - "Lunatic Fringe" You NEED to hear "Lunatic Fringe" by Red Ryder/Tom Cochrane - written because of the hate groups that were starting to come back on the horizon in Britain & afraid of hate & hate groups escalating. It is a song to be cautious, watchful & careful about the slippery slope that these fringe groups use to pull you in - back to division, violence, hatred.
Creed feels it!! It’s awesome!! Try my own prison!! So much great stuff! Album full circle, please don’t let the media tell you the wrong thing cause I don’t think that’s how most people feel!❤️
I love Creed. Their guitarist Mark Tremonti and core band members formed Alter Bridge in the early 2000s and they remain my all-time favorite band. You should check out Tremonti as well, amazing stuff. I love all of Creed’s stuff, but some of my favorites on this album are “What’s this life for” and “Pity for a Dime.”
I'm putting in another vote for "My Own Prison". Love that song.
Yes!
Yes 👏

Scott’s dad really likes that song. It kind of figures though.
Yep and whose got you’re back.
Their best album....Creed My Own Prision......EXCELLENT👉🏻👉🏻👉🏻

Agree.
I agree 💯 🔥
If you get a chance listen to the song come and get your love by redbone
And they're touring this year
Got to do What If by Creed next please.
That jams so hard and the message is spot on. ❤
After hearing it on Scream 3 ... I had to find it and rock to it🤘🏽😎
YES!!! It's fire! 🔥🔥🔥
You are ABSOLUTELY right. Their lyrics have this way of making you listen and feel them. They get so much hate, but they have wonderful messages in their songs. ❤❤
Creed "weathered" helped me through deep pain and I still cherish that song today.
This is from My Own Prison
Cause meee-ah-eee. Lol
Man right? Same here. Timeless!!
You might as well hit every song on all four albums! There isn’t a bad Creed song; they’re all so deep. The world needs their music…again! ❤❤
Well said!
Desperately needed now
They were ahead of their time with this song 💯
"We may rise and fall, but in the end, we'll meet our fates together". That part always gave me chills. Even when I first heard back in '99.
Just......thank you for being who you are. I can tell you are genuine good people.
“One” off of their debut album My Own Prison. My personal favorite from them is “Torn”. Highly recommend you review this one.

To whom it may also concern- Amber is my favorite person in the world. She’s incredible.
Agreed 💯...to whom it may concern is a masterpiece...along with faceless man and who's got my back...
My Own Prison was their first and most popular hit.
I would say "Arms Wide Open" is their most popular and mainstream song, but My Own Prison is definitely their best.
This is good, but their best songs are anything by Alter Bridge.
"we may rise and fall, but in the end
we'll meet out fate together."
hell yeah
YES!

I’d recommend listening to the title track My Own Prison next.
creed is one the best bands to listen to and rock out when unwined if feels like put on something with some rock sound in it this good one here .
Thank you for reacting to this song !! It is now more relevant than ever today with a divided country. We do need more unity for sure. You are both awesome, keep up the great work !
I'm glad that you got to this song..one of my favorites by Creed..but I have so many favorites by Creed
One this sort of topic
Tom Cochrane & Red Ryder (not sure if it was before Tom Cochrane started breaking out of the group or not) did - "Lunatic Fringe"
You NEED to hear "Lunatic Fringe" by Red Ryder/Tom Cochrane - written because of the hate groups that were starting to come back on the horizon in Britain & afraid of hate & hate groups escalating.
Dont stop Dancing!!!!!!
