I bought a Huawei P 30 pro and the photos this phone takes are the best ive seen. I took some photos at my friends wedding and the wedding photogapher was so impressed he was asking for my photos.
Ordered a Huawei P30 Pro in Breathing Crystal yesterday. I'm giving my iPhone X to my mom. RIP Apple.

@@yoshiharatoshiaki3650 Depends on where you get it at, for us Americans the P30 Pro can be had for under $900 and the P30 just over $600. The truth is the P30's Primary camera is about as good as the P30 Pro, just lacks OIS and has a more narrow aperture.

Vertex Soarer not really fair to compare a 2019 flagship with a 2018 one, but I do have to admit that the P30 Pro is better than the Pixel 4 XL.
The S10 with Snapdragon 855 is better otherwise it's close. And the P30 Pro has dethroned the Pixel3 for night mode and zoom

happios well I’ve not been a life long Apple user, but I’ve used them I phone 5s and 6s for about 4 years now and never thought I could switch from Apple to android but there’s so many cool features with this phone that I just have to get it! I’m sure I will get used to it as soon as I’ve used it for a few days
PusheenQueen I’m just stuck in the whole iPhone ecosystem. Apple Watch, Apple TV, proprietary chargers at home and in cars. All the apps and music I purchased over the years.. Apple wallet, iMessage. I’ll probably get the p30 pro anyways and maybe use two phones at the same time and slowly phase out the iPhone... I dunno

How is the video on the phone for daily use? What about pictures when you object moving, do the get blurry or it captures movement really well?
Their is so much unnecessary criticism for the camera.other phones doesn't even provide the camera flexibility that p20 pro provide.appreciate that, it can't perfect.

Praying Google adds a secondary lens to the pixel 4. Hopefully telephoto as well.

I like Google Pixel...they doesnt boast about 6 camera or 4 camera or 500Megapixel or 100x hybrid zoom or some gimmicky not so useful over the top camera features they just provide you with simple single lens and its still one of the best camera smartphone available...its feature is simple such as the Best Shot where it choose for us the best photo that we can use...so far its the most simplest point and shoot camera and still does a very good job like P30 Pro or Galaxy S10+....now just imagine what Google could do with 2 lens system and more powerful Snapdragon 855 with Google's class leading computational photography..
@@bighardlongthing I see what you're trying to say. But I don't understand why you have to call the "hybrid zoom" a gimmick. And if Google can boast about their gimmicky "night mode" (it is good.. but soo unnatural and over saturated and muddy and not so sharp), I don't think anyone should have an issue with Huawei "boasting" about a truly functional 4 camera setup. (Not just Huawei.. but many brands does multiple camera setup which are really functional and really awesome for the price they charge like Nokia 9 Pureview). Pixel did have an exceptional single camera on the market. But everyone has to agree, you can't achieve everything on one camera with just heavy software. You can't overshadow hardware limitations with exceptional software like different focal lengths to achieve wide to telephoto in just one lens. Google should stop being adamant and adapt multiple lens system like other manufacturers.

Not an Apple fan, but iPhones are still to be rivaled in video recording.
Close second is Xperia phones, especially the XZ2 Premium with either 4K HDR movie recording or insane 12800 ISO capability in low light.

My p30 pro makes a nasty obviously over processed grainy/smoothed shot day and night.
Did anyone have this issue and how to fix it?
Can someone explain to me how the zoom works on this camera? Am I right in saying that when I use 3x, 5x zoom, then the phone uses dedicated lens but when I zoom 4.9 x then the phone uses software to crop the image? Thank you for explaining it.
The only native optical zoom is at 5x. Everything else is hybrid zoom. At 5-10x though, it's blending several images taken by the periscope lens to produce crisp images. Below 5x, it uses the main and periscope lenses, which softens and flattens images a bit.

When you talk about the camera setup you kinda come off as not really understanding how optics and cameras actually work. The reason that the Telephoto isn't great in low light is 2 fold, it has a TINY sensor 1/4" (9.72mm²) vs the 1/1.7"(43.30mm²) main camera sensor, this is nearly 4.5x bigger. So even with the same optics the main sensor is taking in 4.5x the light. Granted per pixel this is lower but with modern hardware more small pixels can be used to create cleaner images. The final nail in the coffin of the zoom lens is that it has an f stop of 3.4 vs the main cameras 1.6. This is a little over 2 full stops. Light transmission roughly halves per F-stop. Assuming they are the same efficiency (same %age of light loss through the lens, normally longer zooms with smaller F-stop lose more) those 2 full F-stops means the telephoto lens is letting though 1/4 (25%) of the light of the main lens. TL:DR the main camera sensor takes in ~ 16 times the amount of light the telephoto does. This is why the phone likes to use the main camera in low light, even with digital Zoom. The Zoom camera can never compete on low light, ever.

Unfortunately it's a better camera than it is a phone. Would have loved a microSD slot with that great camera!!! And it's not as great for content consumption as the S10
It's got a nano SD card slot. Funny they didn't mention that in the review

An excellent photo camera. But a very bad video camera. Why does Huawei always have the problem with videos? I don't understand it ....
I feel sad. My Huawei P30 pro front camera sucks. 😔😔 My P20 pro even makes better pictures. Looks like I got P30 pro with some issues.
Don't rush to buy it if you own a Pixel 2 or Pixel 3.
I still own those to phones and pre-ordered the P30 Pro after I used it in nit really blown away and from a photography point of view is not exactly how it looks like.
It has less dynamic range, more chromatic aberration on hard contrast edges. Color science is not really great at all colors are a bit weird and pictures are overexposed and oversharpened so you will have more chance to blown out highlights and that ruins everything. I use it in 10mp mode always because in 40mp mode is not that sharp.
The telephoto and low light capabilities are killers buy the way.
As a phone is amazing excellent batterie life good screen excellent build quality but the camera hmm not so sure.

The zoom is pretty dope, but after watching Supersaf's comparison against the S10+, I was massively disappointed in the P30's failure to dominate.
His comparison was meant to push the s10+, yet everybody else shows the P30PRO as the true winner.
@@makatron I've seen the samples. Except for the 5x zoom and some dark scenarios, the P30 Pro was a bit of a letdown. Definitely not overwhelming enough to put up with its other compromises compared to the S10, though it's still a great phone.

After 17 years it's time to say bye bye Apple! it's going to be hard but the order has been placed p30 pro aurora 256gb . anybody looking for a good special try B&H Video they have the 256 p30 pro for $889! the cheapest around i found. even amazon is selling the 156gb for $1,200! i lucked out big time and will miss my iphone but after 5 years of the same phone it's time to go. now i just have to figure out how to use the platform
i personally disagree on the title...im not saying this is not a good camera, but for me the best picture must point and click not all the gimmicks you have to do on this particular phone to get a nice pic(im referring to the part where you must keep steady for the picture to get sharpened,or the part where you have to do all kind of adjustments preparing the camera,blah, blah, blah)...i had this phone less than a week before i got back to my loyal pixel 2 XL where i get amazing pictures just opening the camera apk.
anyways,its just my opinion...ill be triying tho the samsung S10+ this days...not giving a try to huawei i n a very looooooong time.
