S10 has crazy stabilization on both front and back camera.
The super stabilization permits to do some VERY cinematic videos, it looks to a certain extent like my latest GoPro which has unparalleled stabilization.
You actually want to move to "trigger" this smoothness.

The Galaxy S10 is the clear winner of this comparison, video stabilization, Live Focus Shots, HDR on the S10, edge dedection are clearly better on the S10. Only in low light shots is the P30 better. But I think Samsung will increase the low light performance with an update.

Slight correction on what you said. The p30 pro is better at seeing in the dark and zooming only. S10s superior dynamic range will serve you better when taking low light and night shots where there is some light . Dynamic range trumps seeing in the dark for me. So the p30s main advantage is the zoom but again that's just another nice to have feature. The zoom camera is one you'll use rarely. The main and wide are the functional lenses. You might play around with the zoom lens for a couple of weeks when you first get the device but then hardly ever thereafter. S10+ the clear winner here. Way too much hype around the p30. The tech community must be getting much love from Huawei because their videos and reviews could easily be considered promotional and not objective. Fair play to saf.

I feel like this might be a short sighted observation. On the one hand if I were doing a video call the p30 pro might have a big advantage. But if you were recording something like an acoustic set at a coffee shop the sound staging on the s10 feels much wider (probably p30 mono vs s10 stereo)
Biased fans says that p30 pro has a trash microphone , this video is a proof that they're wrong...
@@kasadam85 I don't like the "Noise Cancelling" stuff in mics. It just cut off the high frequencies and i don't like half of the spectrum being recorded. If you want the best recording experience with a mic just go to quiet place

During the selfie video comparison, I noticed that P30 pro did a better job at filtering out background noise, which is evident in S10+ audio.

Super Saf, bro. I had the S10 it had an issue that if you hit play on a voice message before you can get the phone to your ear it blast the message so everyone can hear it and so loud. I assumed it's an issue with the proximity sensor and software? So I traded up to the P30 Pro. I enjoy the much longer battery life and I'm a shooter not a vlog or video guy so 4k at 30 is great for me I don't need more. I often feel so many people get stuck on just the specifics of a phone and not how they're actually going to use the device. So glad to see that you explain that in your reviews. I think everyone should consider their usage over specs and buy what they need over what's best on paper, thanks bro! Please keep up the great and revelant reviews!👍👍🎉🎉⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💯💯💯 BTW,, can't wait for the Note X from Samsung, I'm thinking it's going to set a new bar even for iPhone, I sure hope so.

The Galaxy S10+ takes better quality photos consistently in most scenarios excluding dark ones. But the Galaxy S10+ is able to take comparable night shots using pro mode. When Samsung updates the Galaxy S10 series with super bright night feature, the Huawei p30 pro will have no chance competing except with the optical zoom which few will take advantage of.
Samsung seems to be willing to perfect the basics instead of focusing on gimmicks.👍

Here here! Well said. Huawei focusing on gimmicks you'll rarely use and showing much love to the tech community who just put out promotional videos disguised as reviews. Fair play to saf for explaining what night mode really is. A 6s exposure mode. How many people will use that day to day. 6s to take a photo. S10+ camera is clearly the overall winner here. No doubt about that. Try again Huawei with the mate 30 and please less gimmickery and more substance. Zooming and seeing in the dark will only get you so far.

Great comparison. They just released the Pixel 4 today.
P30 pro seems to take the cake in artificial light situations because of the yellow color sensor (as seen in the night shot, indoor shot, and night selfie)--doesn't seem to be the case around the naturally lit sunset though. As a result it loses some of the green saturation that other RGB sensors pick up, though I personally prefer its warmer tones. The Pixel 4 seems to have taken a software oriented approach, in which they stack multiple exposures for their night shot and brighten from there (like the P30 pro) as well as incorporated a hybrid zoom to go beyond the optical zoom. I think Huawei is covered with Leica for hardware, but definitely could step up its software for things like auto focus and edge detection (although it does have excellent night mode). We should also keep in mind that auto camera settings are optimized differently on different devices, so the best possible comparison would be having a professional photographer attempt to recreate the same photo with both devices.
Agreed, I think if you ask any professional photographer they will tell you they choose the Huawei based off the Leica camera alone. Hardware issues are addressed on the next model, software issues are fixed through patches.

Haruto Isshiki The only phone with true 4k hdr video playback with 847ppi and true front facing dual sterio speakers and the only camera with an inbuilt chip. And hifi audi dac- xz premium.
I'd argue that the P30 Pro actually beats the audio AND color science. The S10 picks up loads of surrounding sounds, city noises. Cars in the distance etc. The P30 Pro seems to have a more local sound. I'd prefer that.

agree, even if i take picture at night, i prefer the light and brightness as it is, because it's the small light that made the night scene beautiful...if it is too bright, it will ruin the picture...see that street sign picture...the p30 pro made the sky look like it is just sunset...

And it has great stabilization when you filming in ultra wide with S10 Plus. P30 has very poor stabilization on ultra wide.

@@8skyline7 Dude , day light pictures are close , what really distinguishes a good camera from the other is it's low light capabilities . Even the cheapest phone can take crisp pictures at daylight , however not every phone has guts to do that in a bad lighting condition ...

For me the colours and detail of the portrait pics are far nicer on the P30 Pro, it also has a much better long range zoom especially with its 50x Zoom which this reviewer neglected to mention and in low light but in other respects, including stabilisation of video while in movement, the S10 has it.
I own the P30 pro. My friend has the S10+. We went in a very very dark room, both took pictures using no flash. His didn't show anything, black. Mine looked like a daytime taken photo.

Thanks for the review. I think you could have mentioned the massive control you have over the P30 pro's camera settings though. I know that you generally used standard auto settings but, the real benefit of the P30 is in the level of control whilst in camera mode, which you don't benefit from so much in the S10.
