Its unethical to add the moon image frm database to the pic taken as it doesn't show the real potential of the camera hardware. Also they cud have managed to add earpiece speaker jst like the regular p30. Also, since p30 pro lack stereo speakers, they axed the feature on regular p30 as well. The pics taken during daylight actually fall behind other flagship devices.
iPhone is the right phone for most people imo
Matthew Moniz Huawei already issued statement that there is no supplementation happening in moon mode only standard photo editing like sharpening. Even Android Authority was not able to confirm any sumplementation in their tests and updated their article. It's just hoax caused by some random guy, most likely Apple or Samsung fan. :)
Huawei have 2 places where you can disable battery saving for certain app. First its "app startup" in battery menu, that's Huawei implementation. Second is "battery optimization" is standard core android feature, but having it enabled for your app breaks notifications as well. If you want to receive all notifications from certain app you need to disable both.

Most reviewers are highlighting a problem which does not exist when it comes to receiving Notifications
Here's the solution for the Perceived Notification Problem
Step 1 - Go to Settings
Step 2 -Go to Battery
Step 3 -Select More battery Settings & *Stay connected when device sleeps*

I personally leave this option off Because I enjoy my 2 days battery life

Yep. And/or go to Battery, App-start and change the setting for applications you don't want to be closed in the background.

As far as I know, p30 pro has a better battery life than the s10+

I tweaked my note 9 and I get over 3 days standby. It's because huawei is overaggressive in disabling needed apps while samsung is not enough

@@kenm2742My S10(not plus gets barely 6 hours of screen-on time with a LOT of tweaks, and the fuking heating problem is a real pain in the ass, overheating even with light usage, it's awful when holding the device……
The main 2 things for me in a phone is camera and battery, this does both amazingly

I use zoom function more than often. When you sit in the station's waiting room and don't wanna stand up to walk to the far away TV screen to read departure time.... I pull out my p30 pro. Can't see the road name from the other side of road? p30 pro. It is like a telescope, so don't only treat it like a camera.
That is indeed an interesting use case. Can be especially helpful to those people who have myopia.

Just got mine love it. Sold my S10 Plus. Better battery by far, versatile camera and ir blaster.
The P40 pro will have a 50x lossless microscopic zoom. The P50 pro will have a a hubble space telescope. The P60 pro will have X-ray vision. The P100 pro will see god.

A BC I feel you man. That’s why it so frustrating to have the pioneer of innovation be blacklisted from the U.S. Since Steve Jobs died, Apple will always be this overpriced company that recycles its products and advertise it as the “next big thing” in the smartphone industry.
A BC Not just the pencil. I understand the iPhone and iPad being priced at 1000 grand. The MacBooks are overpriced as hell considering that its made out of recycled chassis from their older MacBooks. I understand their software being optimized, premium materials, and customer support being able to justify the price but its no use given that there are more things to offer for half the price. The point is, Apple should stop taking and start thinking. Not all people are stupid. They can’t deceive us forever.

From someone who has a P30 pro I have to say the phone is pretty great. The cameras are awesome, the display is crisp and bright, the speakers are as loud as I'd want for my phone to be. EMUI isn't the best but once you sort out the launcher it's really alright..
Have has a Samsung phone for sometime and my main issue is the battery detoriation with Samsung..
I don't see any battery detoriation on my S8+. In fact, Samsung's 8-Point Battery Check and their promise of 95% battery retention after 200 cycles. My S8+ has 87% battery capacity after 2 years. After the Note 7 fiasco, Samsung really nailed the battery quality and now, starting from the Note9, the battery capacity too.

My main issue with the P30 pro is the crappy display, terrible software and subpar CPU. To each their own though.

Using optical zoom has to do with compositing pictures. You get totally different results by shooting a subject on a normal lens and with a telephoto one.Having the versatility on your hands is priceless, if you get my point.

You could see the code, with the marks on the display glas. Better use a passwort. I use fingerprint sensor and a 10 letter long passwort

I don't rlly understand your comment about the speaker. You can't have a bezelless display and 2 front facing speakers as well. Where are they gonna go if the screen is covering the whole front?? Ppl need to choose cause we're asking for too much here
There's tons of room between the top bezel and the display for a speaker.

It has a bad Face recognition.. like any Android phone except for the LG G8.
@@Gary-bz1rf Let me explain.. The LG G8 and the Huawei Mate 20 Pro both have TOF camera on the front of the phone in order to do 3D face recognition ( like on the iPhone). On other phones (P30 Pro included) there is only 2D recognition which is not secure and can easily be fooled. Hope it's clear now.

My P30 gets yellow in daytime photos, it is video mode which gets color close to reality, but how to solve yellow hue on photo mode? I tried the filters (blue, also nostalgic), but they are too straight forward. Maybe someone has found the solution?

I switched from iPhoneX to the P30 Pro, and for me it was a superb experience.I used iOS for years, and of course I was very affraid because Apple locked me up in their ecosystem - and exactly that was the motivation why I decided to move to android with the handset, while staying in Apple-ecosystem with my other devices (Mac, Macbook, iPad 8 & 12.9).Well, I am amazed; I simply just did not expect to get such an mature device. I love that P30 Pro.The mobile already received four substantiell updates, which fixed the mentioned weaknesses, like i.e. colour saturation in standard photos. From my point of view, it is in every single topic superior to the iPhone. And I am so glad that I have a fingerprint-unlock again, because face-ID was unlocking it much to often unintended.
About your ring note. You just need to set it up correct. Then it works perfect. settings - battery - applaunch - find you app and choose manage manually
ive already tried going into permissions and allowing it makes no difference. Its been the same issue on every huawei phone

@@Nicoztrike true that. When EMUI software manages apps then many of them do not work properly. After setting app management to manual everything works fine. But I still find EMUI aggressive with the app closing after you left them in the background
the Battery on this phone is INSANE!!
This is a video I was really hoping to see. I think a lot of Huawei customers buy the previous generation of the flagship when the price goes down. Direct comparison of mate 20 pro and P30pro you showed is something that potential buyers have to see.

Side note: You can pull down on the app in the Multitasking view to lock it, so that the device doesn't clear it from memory
Doesn't work. The lock is only so the app stays when you manually "close all". That way you can close all apps without closing apps that you want to keep running, like Spotify

Nice one. What lighting and camera used ?
There is anothers features that P30 Pro has and the S10 doesn't. For example the navigation gestures is amazing once you get it you never wanted the Samsung navigation gestures anymore. The mids in terms of sound with headphones or Bluetooth speaker is more natural and consistent then the Samsung flagships they don't have better separation of instruments. The security finger's print to create another account in your smartphone and the list will goes on. For now it's enough. The best is battery period.
The P30 pro may have some additional features exclusive to it but so does the S10. Also, the P30 pro has worse software, screen, and CPU. There's a reason the S10 is regarded as the better all-around package.
@@foxyman1010 there is a reason why the P30 Pro has less cpu or screen quality than the S10 and the difference is not so different that you can say that is completely bad the main reason has to be to gain the best duration of battery for user experience more time or hours on screen than any smartphone with the same 4200 amb battery with a good battery quality alied to amoled display that is enough in terms of resolution. If you want better resolution scream on Huawei smartphones they have the Mate 20 Pro but the battery will be capable for less durability of hours. We have to understand Huawei to like their smartphones if not well it is a matter of choice.

Unmatched detail in daytime landscape photography and thats the salient feature apart from zoom and night mode thats unparalleled.
The stereo speakers on the mate 20 pro are not great at all...sound coming out from the usb c port🤦

"P stands for Photography" finally someone gets it. I stumbled over another reviewer who didn't wanted to accept for what this device was created and put up negative points that didnt even exist cause he got a bad past with that company.
It's not perfect but I use super-macro on the P30 pro as well as the zoom occasionally and more than I thought the nightmode. I love it for what the device wants to be not for what it should be in some reviewers mind.

Planning to buy p30 pro but i have a quick question? Is p30 pro' camera a lot better compare to s10 plus or is it just slightly better? This is really a hard choice for me. I like the samsung for it's over all benefit but i'm really scared to missed the opportunity of experiencincing p30 pro's camera

I HAVE ring bell app as well. you have to setup for app that you want it to run all the time. go setting search special then optimise turn that app off
Bought it specifically for the battery life, I owed a lgv40 earlier which made me charge twice a day, now with P30 pro, I am left with 20 percent charge even after hours of heavy usage.
For myself this is a phone where the focus is too much on zoom and night mode... and that front camera video:O dude you face is like warping all over the place lol. About the moon mode. That is a big nope for me if true. Then what stops companies from doing that from mars? Jupiter and so on? If not taken with the phone but replaced by an asi system then for me that is a no, and a fake image.

Even NASA doesn't get the clear picture of the space and what they do, using some software to make those pictures clear and then publish those.
So, moon mode is not a big deal. Try to think in a positive way.

agreed .. I have it with me for 30 days and i have the same thoughts.
Sold my Pixel 3 to get the P30. Didn't want to spend the extra $300 to get the Pro. I feel the pics are true to life compared to my old Pixel who brings the colors out to pop but they are not true to life. Skies are too blue and trees are too green on the Pixel. Most people like that but I am more true to life. Also like the modes on the p30 camera better if you don't mind playing around with the camera ( silky water, light trails, night mode, etc...)
Pixel slightly oversaturates pictures while the P30 desaturates the pictures. Neither are colour accurate.
Most of the criticized stuff doesn't bother me at all, but the notifications issue is really bad. Having a similar problem with my old s6 and its infuriating
Well I used to have this problem, I think I may have found a solution for it (I can't say for sure as I only tried this a few days ago)
You can try going to the settings and search for unrestricted data access, and enable those IM apps, it worked for me so far, hope this helps :)
How come people have this problem? I've not had any issue with notifications since day 1.

No phone is perfect in all area at this stage, but camera and battery performance are the most important for me. And I love using this phone over my older iPhone

Yeah the moon mode is bogus but I don't mind as long as their upfront about it which seems not to be the case. But that camera system is everything. Perfect for sporting events.

The screen comparison is the most disappointing comparisons one can do. I was so happy with the upgrade from HTC 10 to P30, but then my colleague came with S9+... It hurt.

@@dritanrustja9562 well, it is an upgrade, definitely. However, EMUI compared to Sense is just awful, there are some mindless settings such as: if you enable zoom on the screen, you won't be able to use one-hand control feature. The camera is great, the screen is beautiful (but I wish it would be WQHD as in HTC 10), speakers are loud and clear but not stereo (for this kind on money you can request stereo sound), the battery life is just insane (avg. 20h until 15% with over 8h SOT). P30 is great!

@@dritanrustja9562 the price is ridiculous, I can confirm that. I only got it because I got Huawei Watch GT Active for free and I got it on 0% rate installments (20). Otherwise, I would not have bought it. I wanted Google Pixel 2XL in the first place.
Nevertheless, the P30 is a great and gorgeous device! One can get used to the EMUI - I love the gesture controls ;)

The moon mode controversy is something nobody should be affected by, and let me tell you why:
First of all, average consumer won't find it ethically problematic as they just want a prettier picture of a moon and therefore have no reason to turn it off. Those who do find it problematic or feel cheated, however, can turn off Master AI or use Pro mode to take a regular image of the moon, which would still look hella lot better than whatever you can take with cameras on other smartphones. I know a friend who got this phone recently so I told him about this matter, but even after explaining everything he couldn't figure out what is exactly wrong with it. His answer was like; "But I get a better looking moon right? So what's the issue then?"
Would I PERSONALLY feel cheated? Yes, if the claim was actually true and confirmed. But the way the tech community and photographers perceive things is often vastly different from what normal people do, and I'm definitely seeing it right now.
unfortunately the "mood mode" is real function. Those that like you spreading fake news are just lame loser.

The daytime wide angle pics surpass any other phone out there apart from phenomenal vista pictures. The detail level is where one appreciates the sensor especially in darker areas where all other phones falter. Galaxy S10 cant be compared to the overall experience from the P20 Pro

Wtf dude. I got 6h SOT on my P20 Pro (no bull.. I got screenshots) with lots of youtube, wifi, mobile data always on, 3 e-mail accounts with push activated. I ordered my P30Pro,and I wonder how much SOT I will be getting with that one

I think they fixed the red saturation with 153 update, that rolling shutter makes this phone pointless for me, it should not be happening on a flagship.

Few years before, I heard about this AI which can learn how to re-draw an image based on what they learn from DSLR picture quality. This tech will become more and more advance in the future and this "moon filter" is just the beginning.
I have both phones,In contrast with you,I prefer p30pro.The camera,Battery life and fast charge far better then s10+.I can't see any difference on screen.Most of all,I don't like the design of s10+

Gestures, battery, fast charging for p30 pro. Slow-mo, 4k 60fps and generally video for s10+. Display quality difference? I don't see any.

No, they should not be supplanting another database image on top of your own picture, whether its the moon or anything else. We take pictures to have our own photos, not someone else's.
you have right, I have P30 and almost never receive the notification and is so annoying, also I have to connect my phone to the computer to update the software othewise tells my that the software is up to date ( at least happened at my last software update). I have apps that never show me the notifications not even after I turn on the screen, I have to open them. The calendar is very hard to use and to set reminders up. I downloaded a different one because I really need my reminders. Somtimes I feel like I wanna move my sim back in my older iPhone :D ( I didn't take this phone for pictures tho .. I didn't take not even one picture and I have it for 2-3 weeks :) )
