One thing I didn't even mention was that I had $317 on the GM Buypower rewards card that they applied to the purchase of the truck. They asked me if they could go ahead and apply in on 30 October when we made the deal. I said yes, and they did. I still haven't gotten that back, but it's effectively the same as cash. Offer + acceptance + consideration = contract. There was no reason for me to believe it was anything but a done deal when driving over there.
After watching. This is just piss poor from the dealer all the way around from start to finish. Please don’t judge all dealers based off this. Love the channel Mover. Thank you for your service and all you do for veterans and their families!
If you haven't already, see if you can't go up the chain to GM's main offices and see if you can't get somewhere. I'm a Dodge/Mopar guy but any time I've ever had an issue with a dealership, I've gone over their heads and the home office is usually in a hurry to make it right. When I had a local dealer (not the one I purchased from) do a warranty recall service on my Challenger and it came back literally covered with oily finger prints on the inside (and the recall service NOT performed, by the way), I went straight to the home office and they got the ball rolling FAST to make sure it got in literally the next day to make it right. At the very least, they should get your rewards money back and probably can get the same or similarly configured truck shipped to a dealer more local to you in Mandeville/NOLA. Considering how much money you've given GM, they should be in a hurry to make it right. I am absolutely dreading trading my 2011 Range Rover Sport in because of exactly this experience. It isn't in the best of shape, it is an expedition vehicle and got treated as such so she's banged up but the cost to maintain is far exceeding the actual value of it so I'm looking to go to either a Jeep or the new Ford Bronco if it ever actually gets released.
@@thndr_5468 I'm betting they are still there. There's a couple of "Automotive Groups" in my area that own a handful of different dealers. Every couple of years one of them will undergo a rebranding with a name change to imply it's under new ownership when in fact nothing changed but the sign. From what I understand that's a pretty common practice nowdays
Let's do the math. 94600 people who are now going to tell all their friends to watch this and see how Chris Myers Buick Gmc screws people. Good job Chris Myers Buick Gmc.
I hope this dealership completely goes outta business now. We NEED more exposes like this. You treat your customers like garbage, you deserve to go bankrupt.
They tried to play on your emotion. Most people buy vehicles on emotion and give in to these type of tactics because they want the vehicle no matter what. When you take away the emotion and buy with your brain, you can walk away from a bad deal. You were getting the clues on this dealer when you were negotiating the deal. Thanks for sharing!
I live in Daphne. Went to Chris Myers to buy a Terrain for the wife. Between added fees, horrible trade in, and rude sales people - we left. Bought her a 2020 RAV4 instead.
@@PatrickSBellSr If I was mover, I would have shown "The Big Guy" the text convo so that he knew that he told them that it was an 8.5 and the tires had quite a bit of wear left. That could have put the onus back on the manager to cut the deal because in good faith, he should have. Mover's tires were 6 to 7/32nd's across the board. (perhaps Mover did).
@@PatrickSBellSr dealership across the street did that to a friend of mine. He was buying a car and was 4 hours out of town. Did the deal over the phone, used a credit cars for a deposit. Got me to go check it out. Car was there at that time but after abit i didnt see it. 2 weeks later after his shifts on the rigs he called me to meet him at the dealership so i can help him install some parts he was going to pick up. I get there and he was pissed. Claimed the mileage was wrong so the bank wouldnt approve him of the loan. Kept trying to get him into a new car worth more. He kept asking where the car was. They claimed he was being detailed. He said “you guys said it was already detailed when i called you 4 hours ago”. I looked around, couldnt find the car anywhere. They sold it a few days after i checked it out. They were hoping since he came all this way he would just buy something else. He did....just not from them. While they were giving him bs about not being able to refund his $1000 deposit back because they needed the card he paid with and he left it home, we went to another dealership and he bought a brand new ram. Came back to the dealership 2 hours later to get the refund with a brand new truck.
That's why you should always be ready to walk away - I've done it a bunch of times when terms/prices/etc suddenly changed. And that's why I don't buy from dealers anymore - there was a time it was hard to find nice used cars, dealers almost had an inventory monopoly, but those days are long gone.
@Jeff Russell You damn right, I walked out of a dealers office 3 times over bullshit charges on a used vehicle and starved the jackal out for 4 DAYS before signing anything. Fuck them and their Persian rug salesman tactics. My feet are leathery, I can walk on dirt, fuck you!!
The fact that he said "I took it to both of my service departments" would have raised a red flag to me. Because its the same as saying you don't trust your own service departments. Good to see you walk on the deal.
A great sales manger once told me "you can replace a car but you can't replace a customer" Dealers are the worst. Rest in peace Larry Burger. I'll miss you and your comedic wisdom like a father until the day I die.
Yup, most don't care. As I have aged I know plan to say you have 1 hour for me to be out of here and I'll take note of the time and I'm not even going to tell them I'm leaving I'm goign to get up and leave. It shouldn't take 2, 3, 4 hours to do paperwork. Especially when you already agreed to stuff and you are coming in to pick the vehicle up. been there done that and will NEVER do it again. I don't NEED your vehicle. Also you are not the only dealer in most towns. I can buy any brand if I want. I also never fall in love with vehicles to me they are a point A to point B item that looses money and i want to own as few as possible in my life.
@@DouEditz you're right it SHOULD be the same for every customer but salesmen work on commission and sales managers have performance numbers to show... So while it should be the same, it's really not. Someone dropping 100k+ with cash in hand gets priority over someone financing a 30-40k vehicle.
@@adi0malka Commission is usually fixed so it don't matter if he spending 100k or 30k as long as its a new vehicle it really doesn't matter. When I saw the extra $500 for "removing shipping materials" and "interior detail" I knew something fishy was happening. ETA: If they did call you to try and save the deal, you should make them drive to you, and then tell them to F-off after they drive to you.
Yep, and ordinary air is mostly nitrogen anyway! And have you ever been to a service station trying to refill tires with nitrogen when you get a puncture? They never have it!
@@shoobidyboop8634 But.. but.. you also get a free pinstripe with every PDI! But yes, I heard that as well, and would have saved myself the trip. Nitrogen tires are.. weird. I've heard a few attempts to explain it, mostly along the lines of 'race cars use it!'. And ok, nitrogen is very slightly less dense than air, but that won't help speeds or gas mileage. Then again, air being denser improves grip. Race cars use it because it's consistent wrt properties like thermal, moisture content etc, but less than zero benefits for regular drivers.. Especially when as John Bremner says, availability isn't great. Plus calling dealers to ask if they can do N2 fills probably adds a 20% sucker tax to anything else they might be planning to charge you.
Every single car dealer I've dealt with - over the course of 50 years as a licensed driver, amid different brands and dealers - has been a den of thieves. Some more than others, but all have been devious, either in sales or service, or both. At least I never drove 2 hours each way, adding insult to... insult.
As a person in the business, the issue is the way that dealership is being managed. That salesperson seems like he’s been doing that for a while, no enthusiasm and no integrity, I would be fired immediately for representing my dealer this poorly.
I hope you are honest. In my town KC MO. not for long. Such practice is from 1960's on women. No respect for the type and still think you should roll out red carpet and pop a 20oz. for a $78000 truck. You all are crazy! Even the ford terradactl whatever at $48000 no sale. Get a Ram hemi, take wife on a cruise and buy a new motorcycle. Still same budget, SMH.
So glad you called this dealer out. I cannot tell you how many times I have been scammed (attempted to) by these crooks. From what I gather from the pros is: Try to private sell any vehicle first. Negotiate the new vehicle price only, do not tell them you are financing or paying cash as this will have a big effect on the price. If they bring out the 4 squares paper tell them to save the snake oil speech. Decline every single dealer add on. Decline any Doc fee over a few hundred. Make sure there is no destination fee as that is in the sticker price. The add on fees are the big kickers watch those like a hawk and decline most.
@@CWLemoine It with most states also. You have to sell outside the state most of the time. Ironically EBay Motors is a good place to get visibility. I know many people who sell and buy out of state on EBay. Years ago they switched to a flat fee regardless of price which opened the door to the popularity. The big thing about EBay is thousands of people see your listing even local buyers who may not see in local publications. Best of luck whichever route you go.
Yea i learned those tactics recently about not mentioning how the payment is gonna be made. Was looking at a new supra and dude kept asking me what payments am i looking at. I kept saying “ill talk to finance about that”. Even though i was gonna pay in cash. I never once negotiated a price, never once what price i wanted the supra for. Salesmen gave me a price, i said cool, gonna search a few more dealerships before dropping a large amount of cash and see who gives me the best offer. Wasnt saying i wasnt buying it from them but wasnt saying i was. Sales manager came out and kept lowering the price without me even saying anything other then im gonna check out a few other dealerships. Got him to lower the price by $12,000 canadian dollars without ever once saying how i was paying or what i wanted to pay.
As an auto tech I had a rule that no salesperson was allowed in the shop. I was not about to sacrifice my certs and license (In states that require them.) for the sake of his sale. Unfortunately the dealership is run by the salespeople and their influence is bleeding into service. Honestly the two entities need to be separate and run by different companies. Also to install new tires on your trade in would cost them $450 max, they only pay the Tech $20 for one hour labor and they get tires at cost.
Who else caught that? 17:35 He first said they shipped the running boards first before the truck gets there. 19:15 Then he says they ship the runningboards after the truck gets there.

That’s why we have to fight state level franchise laws that ban manufacturers from selling directly to consumers. All of this haggling and scamming would disappear.

Buying direct from the manufacturer almost is never a better deal. If the manufacturer starts undercutting every one else they will just piss off all the distributors.
Well they deleted my comments from their facebook page, removed their review section from their facebook page, and now i'm banned from their facebook page.
My parents actually did that with a dealer in upstate NY back in the late 80s. They had bought a brand new 1988 Beretta GT and kept having front end problems with it. After the third time they had it in the shop for warranty work, the dealer tried to deny service. It escalated to the point my dad got hold of some corporate folks, and the problem was fixed. That dealer wound up having their franchise stripped by GM a couple years later.
Sucks this happened to you! My wife is in the biz at a very high level here in Michigan. Yes, she was cringing at the tactics they tried to pull and yes she is going to show this video to the big wigs at GM. If you can't find anything, reach out to me. We know people and the production line is a few miles away. I am sure anything can be shipped. I expect this video to go viral. Bet they reach back out to you! Keep us in the loop!!! -Mongrel
BTW. If you have a dealer you like and trust, they can usually find the vehicle you want and have it brought to their dealership. I've done this a couple times, where my dealer "buys" the vehicle from another and brings it down to me. Seems silly to have to drive 2hours to pick up a car if you have a local dealer.
I worked in a dealership for 20+ years and I understand things happen, but 500 to pdi and 1300 for tires is nuts. The running board deal is true, they ship separate, but you are 100% correct its on the pdi schedule. Gives honest dealers a bad name.
There is no such thing as an honest dealer. That's the issue. Its like saying a few bad cops spoil the bunch. No. Most cops take advantage of their position. Just like dealers. Most people feel they have to prepare for war before setting Foot in a dealer
I had a dealership in St. Augustine, FL. I went in there with my check written out and I was ready to drive off into the sunset when the sales guy tells me that something was going to cost $50 more. I said that we had a deal already and when he didn't back down, I put my check in front of him and proceeded to tear it in half and walked out of the showroom and left. Two days later they called me and said they would do the deal without the $50. It wasn't the $50 dollars, it was that they thought I wouldn't walk away. Don't trifle with me. I never went back there to buy anything from them.
"In and out in an hour." Oh... he's a comedian too. One car purchase, the sales person said that it would take 2 hours. I told him to call me when the papers were ready because I was going home. I wasn't going to sit in his chair any longer.
Your experience with Chris Myers is another example of why, even if one does his/her homework, many people would rather have a migraine than walk onto a dealer's lot. I live in the area, and have scratched that dealer off my list of potential sellers.
One of the main reasons I no longer want to purchase a new vehicle from a dealership, they use the most underhanded tactics to try and rip people off. I swear, customer service is non-existent these days in my opinion. I'm hoping my next vehicle purchase, which will be a used vehicle, will go smoothly without incident. Private sellers are usually the way to go if possible. Thanks for sharing your experience, hopefully it will help others.
A few years ago, my wife was in the process of signing the check for a new Subaru Outback at the saleswoman's desk, with me carefully reading the contract."Don't complete the check, Dear!" "Why is this $750 added to the bottom?". From around the corner came the voice of the "sales mgr"...."Prep fee!". I shouted back: "That was not on the contract when we signed it". We got up and the moron shouted: "That price is only good today!". Out the door we went. The dealership later went under.....
I give you credit for your patience throughout that time. Not only waiting longer than needed for a truck you already purchased, but also simply asking in the end whether the deal would go through or not and walking away after he said no. Just picked up your keys and walked out. Not many of us are good at doing that. I'm not. If I spend 2 hours driving and waiting longer than needed for a purchase I already made, and taking time off my hands to remove belongings and vacuum and cleaned, I'm getting something out of it. Even if it's just a damn pen with their name on it. You didn't start anything, didn't yell, didn't throw anything. Just walked away. You sir are a role model
Unfortunately dealers are independently owned and operated, so prices, pitches and support vary from one to another. You should really call GMC customer service and lodge a formal complaint. While the dealers aren't owned by GM, they still need to listen to corporate or they won't get product. I would also report the dealerships that won't honor the military discount. It doesn't come from the dealership, it comes from corporate. That's total BS. Good thing I wasn't there with you, there would have been choice words to the owner. Don't tick off people who drop bombs from heights, very bad move.
One reason why Tesla is doing well and traditional dealers fought hard to prevent them from operating directly. All a dealer is doing is distributing a product. Dealership owners shouldn’t be millionaires. Vehicles should remain on consignment and they should get a flat commission based on location and sales volume, then they can attempt to make most of their money on service agreements.
@@mikegirard4388 Yeah just mentioned when I purchased my Tesla 2 years ago in another comment before seeing this. I've been in plenty of dealerships and sick of all the negotiating and waiting around. They just come across as super shady as well, so many fees and charges. I ended up buying my car online, knew the date of pickup. Was in and out the Tesla service center with my new car in less than 20 minutes. That's how it should be. Quite honestly I would never purchase another car from a dealership ever again.
I use to work at a dealership as a finance manager and we would never purchase a vehicle without appraising it and doubt anyone would. You’re right the tactic is, “just get them in and we can close them here.” Unfortunately this dealerships sales manager was terrible at making a deal, sucks they messed with you.
He did not actually say that, The video showed everything he said. This guy just did the Typical overexaggerate thing we southerners do. Now my reason for pointing this out is, How did you not notice, but actually came to the comments just to point this out. You went completely off of his word, less then two minutes after hearing other wise. I know its just a youtube video, But maybe it means something deeper. Like dont just believe everything you hear, pay attention for evidence.
Well there’s a good chance he may have actually said it and it was edited out because at the beginning he had mentioned he had a few choice words for the guy. It would’ve looked weird if he edited out his response to the guy saying that because of TH-cam’s no cussing rule. And to be honest with you I side with the man because whether you like it or not when you’re in the military cuss words are just part of the atmosphere and they tend to roll off tongue pretty easily specially when people/companies go against their word.
Typical dealer tactics, I used to work as a dealer tech before opening my own shop and the salesmen and managers would do some really shady things. Keeping a customer on the lot as long as possible is one of the tactics as is devaluing trade ins
I have to ask, is one of the tactics to ignore customers? When I got out of the military I decided to trade in my 3 year old loaded Tacoma for a compact. I preferred the Honda Civic but was going to save myself 2 grand for the lesser Toyota Corolla. Drove to the Roseville automall in Roseville CA. I was on the Toyota lot for nearly 45 minutes. I walked the entire lot twice. I was one of maybe 3 customers there on that day. About 100 degrees so didnt really want to be out and about like that. Physically walked past about 5 salesmen and saw at least 5 others and not a single one acknowledged my existence. Finally said fuck it drove a few lots down to the Honda dealer. Was immediately approached by two sales people as I would expect. Told them what happened and that apparently Toyota wasn't interested in selling cars. Asked if they were. Was out of there a couple hours later with a new Civic. Spent a bit more but got a better car. Have had that car since 2007. Still cringe thinking about that toyota dealer.
@@saisr1 salesmen are the most prejudice people i have ever met, if you are young or not white or Asian they will ignore you. @@montevallomustang Yeah I totally get that but I am a white male and I was driving a truck worth 2x the Corollas I was looking to trade for. Just got out of the military (like 4 days earlier) so I had my shit squared away. It's not like I was checking out Land Rovers. I spent the majority of my time looking at the cheap cars and only walked the full lot to see if I could get some acknowledgement from a salesman. The salesmen are all male and I think maybe two of them weren't white guys. I was 27 at the time. My brother has bought 3-4 new vehicles from that dealer and was shocked that's how I was treated. I've been to other toyota lots and no such issue. Some places just suck sometimes.
Yeah, I had only one similar experience with a Honda dealer in Pennsylvania. Like you, I didn't need a new car but wanted to surprise my better half at Christmas. When I walked away from the deal because of the trade-in value (on a two year old car no less), the sales manager followed me out to my truck and apologized and wanted to complete the sale because I had purchased two other new vehicles at this dealership. I told him that I was done with it and not to worry about it that I'll purchase it easily at a different dealership especially since it was the end of the year. Then my phone began to ring and the first time I answered it, they tried again to have me return and pick-up the new vehicle. I told them that I was no longer interested in the vehicle and to please stop calling. The sales manager called me the next day and I couldn't stop laughing and I hung up the phone. I went to another dealership and purchased the exact same vehicle for the same price and they delivered it three days later with a huge bow on the roof.
@Vanargand This a ignorant comment, what does being in the south have to do with anything. PS Trucks in Texas have better incentives then anywhere in the country.
I bought my current car a few years ago at Paul Cerame in St. Louis. I flew there with my daughter (father-daughter road trip!) and everything was exactly as agreed to, no games, just a professional transaction. So there are honest dealers who can do internet deals and stick to what was agreed to. As to how to figure out the good guys from the bad guys I haven't figured that part out...this one was just good luck and a whole lot of divine providence.
Its depressing how greedy buisness men can be sometimes, even to people who have served the country. Its disguisting, and people deserve more than that- especially people who have served in the military. Sorry you had to go through this mover, good luck in your next deal!
Let’s just say I have a very close relationship with the auto industry and as general rule, they do commit crimes of varying degrees every day. I am sorry you had a bad experience. Because of who you are, you were willing to just walk away and it’s the right thing to do. When people ask me for advice on car buying, as with any other negotiation, you don’t get what you want, you walk away. Never “love” a material item so much you can’t walk away. You tell them no until they say yes.
From my time working on the car business I can honestly tell you any dealership that puts a pin stripe and nitrogen on every car and charges $500+ for it is going to screw people even more. When I sold cars on the internet I could get people in and out in about an hour if they did everything ahead of time like you had. Everything about that was red flags.
This is the perfect example of when you do something good, a guy might tell 5 or 10 people. Treat a guy bad or do something shady and you tell 128,928 people! THIS is why people hate buying a car from dealerships. They get the reputation of being shady because of their slimy sales tactics. This place is just like so many others. Walking away is the most awesome thing you can do.
Thanks Mover. All TH-camrs should recognize and apply good presentation skills ... #1 is to summarize what information will be presented. Sorry to hear about your experience with the dealer. Great interview with Bio by the way!
I’d have been tempted to turn around and head home from the phone call you had with the clearly disinterested salesman. He didn’t improve any when you arrived there.
I thought the same thing. He sounded so disinterested and half the time didn't even respond to him. And when he went on and on about the running boards when Mover was clearly just asking to get the paperwork rolling was tell tale stalling and trying to change the subject. The sales people clearly weren't interested in making the sale as is because they personally had no room to make money.

I've been through that nightmare before. There are some dealership that use bait and switch as a norm. What I hate the most is the surprise charges they want to add after you agreed to total Out The Door Price. I will walk out if they want a Penny more.
The worst experiences I've had with new car dealers have all been GM dealers. Last one was at a Chevy dealer. I went with my mother when she wanted to buy a pickup. We test drove a few and she settled on a Colorado. I was advising her while negotiating the deal and I could tell it annoyed the salesman and when he was out of the room she decided she wanted to go ahead and accept the terms. Then when he came back in the room, before she could say a word the guy started yelling and screaming about how I must be the one in charge and she can't make any decisions for herself. I guess he thought that would somehow goad her but all it did was piss us both off and so we got up and walked out. They screwed themselves out of an almost done deal, and did so for no apparent reason.
Dealerships are making their real money on selling you financing these days. Cash buys are looked down on these days. You have to get the price of the both vehicles (trade and new) squared away as if you planned to finance it and once you have that price tell them you'd rather pay cash.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but what if you just do the financing, get the good deal and then pay off the money the first month? Wouldn’t that not cost you anything?
@@mystic316 You'd have to check ther terms of the loan. There's upfront fees for applying and processing the loan and some financing companies have penalties for paying it off early.
Im a tech at a GMC dealer.... I can tell you right now two things. 1. get rid of the 2017 yukon before the powertrain warranty is up. They are giant shit boxes. they blow lifters which then smokes the camshaft, valve springs snap, push rods bend and fuel injectors shit the bed and get stuck in the head. The 8speed transmission is a major issue. Torque converters need to be replaced, valve bodies take a dump and early issues lead to needing a transmission replacement. thats the Yukon.... 2. The 2020 Sierra 2500hd is also having some issues. The rear glass is leaking when it rains, ruining the headliner, seats and carpet. Get a lightly used 17-18 gmc 2500hd, you will be a lot happier and they have no issues. This dealer also seems like a dump. Call GM corporate and talk to them, they usually help customers out. Not taking their side but the factory Bridgestone tires that go on these 22s are about 1400 to have all four replaced
I'd be with you if Mover hadn't have gotten out the tire depth gauge to show they were full of it. There was no reason to dock that trade for tires other than greed.
The 5.3 and 6.2 are all junk. My lifters took a crap at 53K miles due to the known Active Fuel Management Cylinder Deactivation. MAJOR issue. My friends GMC 6.2 same damn thing. I can't believe GM doesn't have a recall on these. They actually replaced the motor in my friends GMC because they said there was no fix. Smoked. Done. Had a loaner for 3 months. He told him to get a plug in ODB cancel modem from "RANGE" for $150. Can you imagine??? A GM rep telling a guy to buy an add on to cancel the active fuel management system in his truck with under 50K miles!!! Crazy.
@@3sons66 I make a fortune fixing these shit boxes. worst part is now because of this covid shit parts are always backordered. so now the trucks sit on our lot for months waiting on parts. especially lifters and fuel injectors
Whenever having to deal with dealerships, always go in on the offense, prepared for battle; guns, missiles and bombs armed. Never trust their word. You did the right thing, Mover, telling 'em to shove it. I noticed that they didn't apologize for not having the running boards on when you got there... just gave you excuses. To not have a vehicle READY TO GO by the time you arrive is inexcusable, and that sales rep should be fired.
Just finished watching your video. Thanks for standing up for yourself and leaving! When you said that part at the end about them telling you “you won’t even make it home” that made me feel sick! Like Jesus these people have no bounds! PS: I’ve driven used cl cars on bald tires for over 1k miles before getting new ones and I always made it home! 😂 🤣
I’d write a scathing letter to GM. Send them a copy of all of your documentation on the deal and ask them to find you the same vehicle for the same price. And you want it delivered to you free of charge.
I used to love buying a car, then I got married and had actual bills now it makes me a nervous wreck and gives me so much anxiety. Now 9 times out of 10 I’m walking away from any deal because of the back and fourth bs.
Perhaps a training sortie that involves a low level supersonic pass in the T38 in or around the area of the dealership is in order. Low level training is important.
Funny thing about the tires, you know they were going to just flip it back out back on to the lot or send it to auction. Pinstripes on a brand new Denali.... cringe.
Hopefully he sees this, that would make my day!! I also just got a new truck (an F-150). Additionally, I know you still fly the T-38 too, and I just recently tracked 38s and started this last week. Your videos have driven me (and a lot of my friends) very far!! Thanks, mover.
Happened to me a couple of times now! The worst thing is cleaning your car/vehicle better than ever before and working yourself up to saying goodbye to your pride and joy - only for them to try and do you on the value of your trade-in! And then you have to drive home in the car you've already said your goodbyes to! Sucks!
I remember Luke Golden @ Chris Meyers Buick and had similar results. They made the original deal with you over the phone so they could improve their end of the month sales quota. You were a cash buyer with an excellent trade in which they don't like. They prefer customers to use GM Finance for their purchases or better yet lease. He knew you were from out of town so they went into stall mode hoping you'd pay more for the vehicle just to get it over with. The bad tire ploy is as old as the hills and obviously still works on some customers. Probably older folks and people with bad credit. If Luke Golden made those idle threats I'd pass that along to Alabama's Attorney General Steve Marshall and of course customer service at GM.
I deal with a local guy 6 miles from my house. He told me once he wasn't interested in screwing people since he had to see them on the street, in the stores, ball games and such. And he's also an honest guy so there ya go
The General Manager at the dealer I use to work at, use to say that very same thing, and he would screw over his own mother to make some $$$ on a car deal.
@@rhettbaldwin8320 I've known this guy all my life, I actually know him and his family. They aren't like that and I've never heard anyone in our area say anything bad about them. However, I'm sure most of them are like the one you worked for.
As a GM Legacy (My Dad and Uncles all retired from GM), it disappoints me that GM allows their dealers to get away with treating potential customers like this, especially those who give selflessly to defend our freedom. I hope that you contact GM to let them know about your experience.
As somebody who works in a tire shop for a living, the only way they got 4/32nds is if they stuck the guage on the wear bar. The tires are getting kinda worn, but you've still got several thousand miles worth of meat there.
Glad you walked. I spent 25 years in the car business (not in sales) and even though the industry is tightly regulated there is still room for drama during a purchase. Sorry you had to deal with it.

@@joedavis6290 Joe, I understand your point and I concur there are good people out there. The problem is that there are enough bad players in the game to leave most of us with a truly bad taste in our mouths. Most of us will never own more than perhaps a dozen cars (put me down for half that), so we don't have a great sample size to evaluate. In my case, every car dealer that I've ever visited ended up playing games of one sort or another. None of them were straightforward or honest. "Welcome to ClusterFaq GMC, boy. You need to pay us for allowing you to be here, boy." Charges for doing what is required for them to do to sell vehicles. They're SUNK..........
Not a GM fan, but that's a dealer issue, not a GM issue. The dealer sales model is absolutely archaic, and corrupt to the core. cars would literally cost 10 to $20,000 less if we got rid of dealers.
The up charge on the new vehicles is still mind blowing to me lol those guys suck. Come to Oklahoma next time if you’re willing to travel!
It has an arbitration clause but there is no out that I could find. Not that it matters at this point.
Douche dealership!!
Most TH-camrs don't like using the company's name. thank you so much for doing so, it is a huge service to your followers to warn them of such things

That's why you should always be ready to walk away - I've done it a bunch of times when terms/prices/etc suddenly changed. And that's why I don't buy from dealers anymore - there was a time it was hard to find nice used cars, dealers almost had an inventory monopoly, but those days are long gone.

Your experience with Chris Myers is another example of why, even if one does his/her homework, many people would rather have a migraine than walk onto a dealer's lot. I live in the area, and have scratched that dealer off my list of potential sellers.
Now that ive watched it, GM should review this dealer's practices
The more they stall you for time, the more it is going to cost you. I have walked away from such stalls.
Good idea. Get GM involved and tell them to stop supplying shady dealerships with vehicles.
100% they can cut their license to sell GM's vehicles. Yeah the own the dealership, but they still have a relationship if you will with GM.
As a follow up, I was so upset by this, I've forwarded your video up the chain to someone who can look into it further.
The salesmen are all male and I think maybe two of them weren't white guys. I was 27 at the time.
My brother has bought 3-4 new vehicles from that dealer and was shocked that's how I was treated. I've been to other toyota lots and no such issue. Some places just suck sometimes.
I was expecting to see at the end you call him and say you made it home just fine.
Haha
And tell them the tyres have gained some tread depth on the way back lol
Never trust someone in retail automobile sales.
Chris Myer’s is notorious for this. They will tell you anything to get you there and then give you the “home boy welcome “.

@Vanargand
Have you looked in a mirror lately?
With you attitude, I would not trust you either.
@Vanargand This a ignorant comment, what does being in the south have to do with anything. PS Trucks in Texas have better incentives then anywhere in the country.
@Vanargand It only shows your complete ignorance , to make such a racist, ignorant comment.
@Vanargand Oh Lordy Lordy, he's resorted to playing the race card on you! He must want the attention badly.
@Commenter2 yeah, totally. Greed is taking over the world.
EVERYONE pretends to care about veterans.....but THEY DONT CARE🤔. Just look at all the homeless vets 🤨
@@steverl22 We care about everyone. Did i ever say i dont care?
Let’s just say I have a very close relationship with the auto industry and as general rule, they do commit crimes of varying degrees every day. I am sorry you had a bad experience. Because of who you are, you were willing to just walk away and it’s the right thing to do. When people ask me for advice on car buying, as with any other negotiation, you don’t get what you want, you walk away. Never “love” a material item so much you can’t walk away. You tell them no until they say yes.
Just looked them up, the interweb says “permanently closed”. Karma
Should've sent him an email when you got home with the picture of the tread depth that said "Made it". lol
General Sales Manager doesn’t look like he’s missed a meal either!
Where do you think the $1300 for the "bald tires" are going?
Hahahahaha! Exactky
I could see them adding an upcharge for a corned beef sandwich.
He was expecting a steak dinner with a stripper show from the bogus upcharges alone on every sale.
Sales manager: "Hey, your truck needs tires"
Mover: "No...YOUR truck needs tires" 😂
LOL
Exactly!
Guaranteed that dealership would leave those same tires on that Yukon had the deal gone thru and sold it as is!
More like a new OWNER now😂😂
@@barfo281 and that is why a simple tread gauge MIGHT save you a few hundred dollars on negotiating a deal on a used vehicle.

I went ahead and left them a 1-star Google Review and included a link to this video.
Looks like they must have been editing their reviews then. I didn't know they could do that on Google.
Let’s all do that!
Thanks Mover. All TH-camrs should recognize and apply good presentation skills ... #1 is to summarize what information will be presented. Sorry to hear about your experience with the dealer. Great interview with Bio by the way!
9:04, that was your dealership warning.
Lmao straight up.
😂😂🤣
Why shopping for a dealer is as important as shopping for a car.
More important.
@@davetremaine9763
They were making plenty of money. Supplier pricing is nowhere near as good as GM Employee pricing. In a lot of cases supplier pricing is only around 2 or 3K off MSRP.
Omg I thought I was the only one that experience this unbelievable tacked on prices . I was at chris Myers in daphne Alabama several years ago. People need to be warned about all chris myers locations.
"I couldn't pick it up because I had some commitments with the Sheriff's office..."
That sounds like a more interesting story than your truck.
It's his job? Probably a shift or some training course or something, how's that more interesting?
@@meistro32 Getting screwed by a car dealer is just one of those things. Its like a colonoscopy, everyone gets one sooner or later and its not a great experience.
Sheriff's training HAS to be more interesting...
I believe he’s a member of a police reserve so he volunteers as a police officer every now and then. On his Instagram, he posted a picture of himself in his police uniform. I think he’s mentioned that he’s in a police reserve department in his older videos.
Yes always a smart move by an employee - try and fight the customer and claim they lied. ALWAYS goes down so well. Amateurs. You did the right thing by walking away. You knew you were being screwed around. It's so transparent when you go to these places, they're never happy with a sale - always gotta squeeeeeze a little more and push it over the top. Why can't we just have sane, reliable and decent car dealers for once...
Call the TH-cam guy “The Chevy Guy” in Louisville KY. He should be able to take care of you.
Mike Davenport is the only person I'd buy a Chevy from if I lived in the USA. A lot of car dogs hate him for his content as he is super transparent about the dodgy tactics that some dealers use.
Go back in an F-18, see if they're more keen to negotiate...
Nah much better if he landed in the stealerships lot in one of the police choppers even if he was only on a training mission, me thinks the look on the stealerships face would be priceless
Just drop an external fuel tank on the building while at mach 2.
Then they say “ negative ghost rider” still does it at 500knts
I've been through that nightmare before. There are some dealership that use bait and switch as a norm. What I hate the most is the surprise charges they want to add after you agreed to total Out The Door Price. I will walk out if they want a Penny more.
I’m in sales and this is quite painful to watch
@@mystic316 thats exactly what you should do.
I do the financing, then i pay it off in full the first months payment.
@@ginacalabrese3869 You really only see that with people with poor credit, but you still need to check.
Would have been amazing if you had your depth gauge with you to throw that number back in their face. Terrible dealer.
All you have to do is say "show me"....
That would have been epic. Or have them show it you.
👏👏 Bravo Mover you did exactly what I did in Louisiana... They can keep it ..😂You will make it home always..
Proud to say I work at a dealership that doesn’t pull this typical car sales crap.
"This is not just an Aviation channel". No, indeed not. It's a Mover channel and that's why I subscribed. :)
Man, that kind of money and they still can't behave like honorable people.
I was so excited for storytime, but when he said he had it on camera I was like "YESSSS"
The dealer said BOTH his service departments measured the rear tires at 4/32".
They need to pay that fancy facility off, that is why they ask extra money for vehicles.
Perhaps a training sortie that involves a low level supersonic pass in the T38 in or around the area of the dealership is in order. Low level training is important.

Funny thing about the tires, you know they were going to just flip it back out back on to the lot or send it to auction.
Pinstripes on a brand new Denali.... cringe.
Fucking pinstripes. These domestic car dealers act like it’s 1990s and people actually want that.
Hopefully he sees this, that would make my day!! I also just got a new truck (an F-150). Additionally, I know you still fly the T-38 too, and I just recently tracked 38s and started this last week. Your videos have driven me (and a lot of my friends) very far!! Thanks, mover.
Good luck! Help your bros!
Always remember, (They need to sell them more than you need to buy them).
Happened to me a couple of times now! The worst thing is cleaning your car/vehicle better than ever before and working yourself up to saying goodbye to your pride and joy - only for them to try and do you on the value of your trade-in! And then you have to drive home in the car you've already said your goodbyes to! Sucks!
Mover: *Wants a truck*
Salesman: I'm gonna do what's called a pro gamer move
And - comes up short, Lol!
I can order a 2021 gmc 2500 HD at4 for you.
They figured you would cave in and pay the extra because you had spent two hours driving to the dealership. And they were wrong.

Not a GM fan, but that's a dealer issue, not a GM issue. The dealer sales model is absolutely archaic, and corrupt to the core. cars would literally cost 10 to $20,000 less if we got rid of dealers.
