The lighting in 2015 was so well done, and the lighting in payback is so dull.. The head and taillights barely give off any glow, and the surrounding lighting doesn't reflect off the car much. Makes the car look like a toy car in payback.

dude, payback has day AND night cycle with double the map size of nfs 2015, yet the graphics on payback still look stunning when you drive around the desert. I don't know if you played the game but i did, and its a big improvement.

Paint doesn't make a fucking difference, i tried metalic,satin,chrome,clear coat, it looks basic shit when you get out of the garage. Doesn't reflect any light. The details are trash,the envirement is boring with no life... SAD

Now seriously we have way better things in payback, but the graphics were downgrading in term of lighting, color (i think) and shadows. As for the rest Payback is the winner. The color changing is like when we went from Underground 2 to Most Wanted. Underground 2 had colors like Payback and Most wanted went with some yelowish type colors like Need for Speed 2015 had :D

Ancient Gameplays NFS 15 is NOT yellow it is just some street lights also in 15 it's only night so the graphics are easier to improve than 24 hrs day and night but it is same thing same details so no downgrade

It looks like undercover because like you said the game was built for night time only. I know all of that, don't get me wrong. The thing is that NFS 2015 has indeed some warmed (yellowish) colors like i said (i finnished the game so i know it). NFS 2015 was made for nightime only so the graphics, reflections and all of that was made according only to nightime. But said that Payback is better. I still don't have payback but i will have it tomorrow. For what i have seen i can say that Payback, is in general, better :)

I'd say Need for Speed Payback won this one because for one reason, the graphics are a little more smoother and the car engine sounds better. Plus, in some parts in the game there's daytime and night time while in Need for Speed 2015, it's mostly night time there but it shows a little amount of day light outside. Not hating on Need for Speed 2015 because when it first came out, I actually like the game and I like the missions, the cars, and everything. I finished the whole game now. Payback came out I was super hyped and amazed when I looked at the graphics, the cars, and the amount of missions there is to do. The characters in the game look nice, and there's a lot more action and challenges to do in there which is what I like about Payback. Good video! I like it!

nfs to mostwanted,carbon,the run and undercover storyline + nfs 2015 graphics +mix police system of MW(including 2005,2012) and hotpursuit + car parts style of underground,payback And 2015+map and geographic features of Payback,rivals,the run+more vehicles of availablity just like in Hotpursuit 2010,MW 2012,shift+finally an online multiplayer of Need for speed Most wanted 2012 but with your garage and personal vehicles. this would been the game we could have GOT!!! also most of this could have came as DLC to NFS 2015 especially weather and time of day. NFS 2015 was like a heart with missing body parts

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but I think that saying 2015 NFS is better/worse than payback ain't fair.
At least in my eyes they're both pretty different. NFS 2015 is you and your buddies burning rubber on your small town. It's a way smaller game, but it has so much personality. The 3 A.M. street racing on a rainy night aesthetic is something fierce. It has a sort of Carbon vibe, but way less hostile. Which I find super nice.
Then payback, you got AAAALLLLLLL the cars, AAAAALLLLLL the environments, AAAAALLLLLLL the builds, this is an over the top game. Huge, diverse, teeming with little nooks and crannies and at the same time some impressive views of the landscape. The whole story in Payback, one man and his two friends slowly but surely turn an entire county against a cartel is waaaaaayyy out there, but that's ok because that's what Payback is.
These two games? They're both great in their own ways. NFS for that cool crisp togue down the mountain, and Payback for goin' off-road as the entire police force converges on you.

Graphics don't make a game good, of course to a certain minimum but really it honestly comes down to gameplay and how fun the games are between tho two. Personally payback has more to do in it and it has a larger map with jumps challenges and great customization...

Graphics seem the same to me. Looks like NFSP is using a different filter so it looks a little cleaner. I prefer the look and feel of the older one though.
What sucks about nfs 2015 is how everyone was crying about how it was only night time, which is stupid to complain about because nfs should be set during night time because that's the theme of street racing, and other great nfs games took place at night like nfs underground 2 and nfs carbon

I have both and i do enjoy payback but 2015 feels more real i mean with the actor cutscenes and with a more beliveable plot i mean. Seriously. To try to be a good racer in your town is going to happen more likley than to steal hypercars and fight secret organisations. Also i think the graphics are slightly better

NFS 2015 does not have better graphics. The cars do have better reflections, but the coloring is more realistic and natural in Payback by far, you people just like an over saturated mess. Plus rain makes everything look better.

Daytime requires no comparison, obviously Payback wins because 2015's iteration of Frostbite wasn't intended for daytime scenes. But night, IMO 2015 wins. It actually feels like you're in a proper city driving at night. In 2015, the lighting is consistent between the environment and the car. In Payback, it seems like the car is a little bit brighter than the environment. In 2015, the car feels more grounded thanks to AO and brilliant lighting polish. In Payback, lack of strong AO under the car and lack of lighting polish makes the car appear flat and makes it appear to float, sort of. In 2015, there isn't much ambient light during the night, which is what makes the lighting look and feel so realistic. In reality, aside from street lamps, you don't have a bright blue light illuminating every part of the car equally, you have a FAINT grey light illuminating only the parts of the car facing up, and it's barely noticeable. Payback didn't do this, it went for the classic "assume every part of the object is lit equally" approach to ambient lighting.
The reason why is because 2015 was only set during the night, so they had a lot more time to optimise lighting specifically for night. The car only has to look good in a hand full of lighting conditions, really. In Payback, it has to look good in dozens of lighting conditions, so they couldn't optimise specifically for one set of conditions.

Payback is better and much more of an improvement for graphics! I mean like in need for speed 2015 you spend 24/7 driving in rain through the night! Those water effects try to make the game look realistic! It will just constantly stay in night and rain while in the other hand payback doesn't even rain and still looks better! IT'S MUCH MORE EASIER TO CONTROL FOR PAYBACK!
