NFS Payback Mods - The Chevrolet Corvette C7 Police has BlackBox's NFS Grip Physics

- Of course when mentioning Black Box's NFS, it's not complete without Sgt. Cross.
Some gameplay and handling showcase of the Chevrolet Corvette C7 Grand Sport Cop Car, one of the few hidden cars in the game. While it's not 100% perfect, the Corvette Cop car's grip physics is pretty good and it's the closest grip handling we've to Blackbox Era NFS handling. Not long ago, there was a discussion on the handling of the Cop Corvette and this video showcase purely on grip with a touch of drift. Keep in mind, drifting every single corner is still faster for this car. Played with keyboard and manual transmission.

As mentioned above, drifting every single corner is still faster in the C7 Cop Car and it has one of the best handling in the game as it's drifting is very responsive and turns sharply.
Obviously, the grip physics is still not perfect as there is still quite a lot of speed loss from gripping which is due to the way the steering works in this game. There is a lack of a steering limiter assists which prevents the car from steering too much, a assists that allows smooth steering with gamepad and it's in pretty much majority of the racing games.
Side note, one thing that really grinds my gears is... the Corvette Cop Car's gear change is lightning quick and have no power loss, like majority of the race spec cars. Meanwhile... the race spec Corvette C7 has a very slow gear change and has power loss between shifts. Come on Ghost Games, at least be consistent. - เกม

It's genuinely sad that Ghost completely tried to hide this away and make the game based on drift 2 win physics anyway EVEN after we asked them to give us proper grip physics. This handling is on point the black box style, and just needs a bit of camera tweaking to look good too. Every car should turn like this and the drifting handling could have stuck to drift cars and dirt racing. I've pretty much lost all hope in Ghost since just a few modders (not to diss modders) with probably no budget but time managed to dig up loooaaaads of things that would baisically fix the game almost entirely, other than the things that need to be added.

DD dorsett The Ford GT GTE but the problem with the new physics is that it makes drifting effortless and it doesn't make getting a good drift into a turn rewarding. I realized through the glitches and problems in nfs 2015's handling model, that it had a very very good base. If they managed to fix the sticky turning, the magnetic attraction to the wall, and made plenty of balancing changes between cars, 2015's handling had the best balance between drifting and grip: WHEN IT WORKED. drifting took certain efforts to master and turning took high precision to get the best at. Have you seen some of Hippo's undefeated series? You can see a hint of what I'm talking about there.
DD dorsett The Ford GT GTE I feel like they could have made this the basis of the handling model and then did loads of tweaking to make it a new kind of handling, but the current physics are too based in drifting.
I guess people moan too much about it in 2015 that Ghost decided to trash the concept. They likely use nearly same model from Rivals, cuz ppl didnt complain much about the handling there. They only need fixes from 2015 and it will be nice. Thats why ppl need to stop comparing too much with old nfs cuz from what i seeing in Payback looks like Ghost has lost thier direction for a bit which is unfortunate considering they have good base from 2015.

Undercover and the run sucks
@suki The reason the run sucks is that because it's Short, the bmw (Razor) nissan etc. from 2003 - 2005 looks so bad in this game, the cops are not aggressive, annoying traffic (same issue in heat) car sounds. Every car sucks when it becomes to sounds. Every car has a kind of whistling (I don't know how to say it exactly) but it's very annoying, and finally the speedometer. The speedometer looks ugly in this game. The game is just bad (Undercover is worse... i would rather recommend buying undercover on PS2 & PSP) also sorry that my grammar is bad but i'm not from American or England.

An Anonymous Spectator turn off the stability control and turn up the steering sensivity from live tuning menu if you want grip handling.
Well, the problem is, original grip handling setting in the game is very bad. Except for this cop C7, other cars are completely uncompetitive when gripping. You will struggle the hard difficulty if you turn on stability control, while average players with the break to drift can easily go through it.
This should be the race handling model because my god am I getting reminded of NFS The Run

more like "A car driving like a train in a modern racing game"? That's literally a double-torture. Dont get me wrong, but even Ricerground 2 despiste the iron juggernaut customization system to progress the game; It compensates to have a descent driving system that you can make even the car has its own personality in the driving terms, you can have one for drift and other for handling with a good balanced grip. And not these unstable tail spins of its own mind (the Ghost's B2D) or that unresponsive, and too bounded turns like the car was added on a rail route (the Black Box's T-G or M-G).
The thing is that Ghost could add this type of physics for every car without brake2drift option would be wonderful, for me doesn't make sense have a "Race" car and then a "Drift" car which behaves just the same as the "Race" spec, NFS Carbon had a great race physics and drift physics was fun af (on canyon because on drift track was more "automatic" and weird), we're not asking for realistic physics, just a enjoyable driving game, Payback imo has the best physics of all modern NFS but it lacks of a lot of other things.
Abraham Ramirez they do have it, but the cars understeer like crazy, so it's pretty useless.
I hope they atleast make the physics of the race class like this for NFS 2019. Since he race class is dumb when you can just go sideways drift into a corner with tires meant to grip the road hard and you know... race.

Well this is how "stability control on" should work by default for all cars not that ridiculously understeering bs that makes it compleately unusable in corners. But hey at the end of the day its an arcade style racing game and people like to drift :D break to drift is on!

This is the type of Physics I want race class or this game to have after playing payback for a couple of months I started I get annoyed with the brake to drift physics. If someone can fix or mod the grip handling for this game 👌

Problem is that: NFS is not Burnout PHYSICS game, but they try give more speed and ruin gameplay. Problem is in nitro, shaking camera, and in how car turns when we drive fast.
Only thing that keeps me on this game is my Initial D/Redline playlist.
Imagine how much more fun the game would be if all cars were like this...

What NFS game is the physics based on specifically ? Post-Underground 2 I've only ever played MW, Carbon, and Undercover.Or were they all the same up until 2015 ?
This car isn't meant to be playable it used by cop AI, only available with mods.
Payback's handling is similar to Hot Pursuit, Rivals and NFS 2015.

GT_Enksx1 for example.. Ive came across a glitch while doing a runner "courier" mission.. I was doing one event trying to get a record and i quickly restarted after crashing and it spawned me exactly where i restarted from with all progress completed remaining...
