Thank you so much mate I use a PS4 pad.on my pi but just built them for my nephews for christmas and was worried when I just attempted to use an xbox one pad as that's what they have. Life saver.
Nice video. I also want to add the wireless controller s to my Raspberry pi 3 but not sure what I need . Would I just have get some xbox wireless controller s or will I need to do something to my Raspberry. Right now I have the SNES wired controller s
can you recommend a good bluetooth controller to use on the raberry pi3 that doesnt need the dongle, and also that doesnt have motion sensor like the ps4 controller, some games are unplayable with controllers that have motion sensor.
@@LevelOneGamer awesome i have one of those controllers but never used it, its new, just sitting there in a shelf as decoration. im gonna have to try it out. thanks so much for the response. you gain a new sub.
@@LevelOneGamer you were right, the 8bitdo worked like a charm. no codes to write, no drives to install, works really well with all the emulators, im gonna have to buy a few of the new ones when they are release. thanks again. happy holidays.
Hi Mark, if you go to the retroarch configurations. From the retropie menu. You can check the hotkeys set to the controller. It should be start and select together but on there you can check or change. :)
My LT and RT Buttons are registered as axis input by the RetroPi and therefore not recognized as button input. So when I try mapping them nothing happens on button press. Any fix?
The ebay link you provided isn't for the genuine microsoft adapter. Any tips on how to add that to the retropie? Your video has the genuine Microsoft adapter though.
I have tried similar configuration, yet the USB output of RP is not enough to energize the Xbox360 receiver, may I ask how did you solve this problem ? or never encountered ?
Before I go ahead and buy this Microsoft adapter.. I've noticed that it comes with a CD for the drivers would this just be a plug and play with the Raspberry Pi or how would I install the drivers for it to work..?
You just have to download the version of the retro pi i have linked in the descriptions and it will be plug and play. There are drivers for it in the retro pi that are auto enabled.
Oh sorry i was thinking about my other video about it. Heres the link to how it is all done. :D th-cam.com/video/pKB004Wo2B4/w-d-xo.html Its the first link in the descriptions for the retro pi that you will need.
I'm sorry that this question is not related to what you are showing, but how did you get your N64 games to run so smooth? Mine are very glitchy and slow. Are you overclocking yours?
Hi Nick, i didn't overclock it. The only things i can think of that maybe causing you issues is the rom file or you have a different version of raspberry pi. Mine is version 3.
L.O.G. Hmmm I have the Pi3 as well. I didn't really think of the rom itself being the issue. I'll try getting a different one and see if that works. Thanks!
Hi Micah, the next time i connected it after the first setup it lit up as player one, Later i connected another controller to the same wireless adapter and that one automatically lit up as player 2. You can actually connect upto 8 controllers but im not sure how they will light up on the controller with that many. Thanks :)
My xbox one controller doesn't work analogue stick wise on N64 games (donkey kong and banjo-kazooie) it runs back and forth but not side to side so i can't run around! any idea?
Hi,
I tried to use a wired Xbox 360 controller on my RPi 3B but it doesn't recognize it as a device. Can you help me? Thanks!'

Happy christmas! Glad i could help 👍🏼
Do you need to install any drivers prior to this working or does it work out of the box?
can't you just connect within the retropi Bluetooth and the controller, ?do you need the USB Bluetooth adapter?
so this works without a command line? Just plug in and map the buttons?
I was wondering if the dongle has to be Microsoft? Could I use a basic wireless dongle?

i recommend 8bitdo controllers i have a few of them, they are realising version 2 of the controllers soon. so if you wait for them it be good.

If I have the raspberry pi 3b+ that has wireless Blu tooth capability I don't need the dongle right?
Hey man I'm having troubles it seems my raspberry zero is not accepting certain configurations and then not letting me continue to finish the process
How do you quit out of the game back to the games list? The select/start at the same time doesn’t work.

good morning sera that works for the helm of xbox 360 thanks
Cheers!
Can you use two controllers for two player games with this method ?
With the adapter you can connect upto 8 but i would say 4 max. So yes 2 controllers works
Boss ! :D
Can this be done with a pi zero w? it doesnt have a USB port but it does have 2 micro usb, and i have a micro use to usb a adapter
Yes with the adapter it should work too, don't see any problems there

Sorry must have put the wrong one. Search on ebay, you might find a bargain. I got mine from there.
Bonjour , je voulais savoir comment configurer la manette xbox one powerA avec cable usb dans raspberry Pi3 modèle B+
Merci

Need a powered USB hub for most issues like this.

Might be the power supply. Do you get some sort of thunderbolt icon in the upper right of the screen from time to time?
Could also be you have a slow memory card. Try an Ultra Plus Sandisk. I have not problems with it.
can i do this without the adapter
if you have the cable i think you can. but i haven't tried
So is the wireless adapter needed for this, or not?
So how do you get rid of the blinking?

It seems to be hit or miss with me. Sometimes it blinks, sometimes it sticks with player 1. Luckily the buttons seem to work either way.
I'm happy to hear the buttons work well. If i find a solution to the blinking light i will let you know. :)
What if I want to hook up multiple controllers. Do I need multiple wireless adapters?
All you need is one, you can connect multiple xbox 360 controllers. I think its up to 8 controllers.
How do you turn off the controller when not in use
I have a Raspberry Pi 3B with built-in Bluetooth. Is the dongle required?
Yes it does require the dongle. Im also using a raspberry pi 3b in the video
L.O.G :/ Unfortunate.
@@cocoelacanth xbox 360 controller is 2.4ghz wireless and not bluetooth. You can use a PS3 controller with bluetooth on the pi.

Ive seen some people mess around with the button mapping and some edit driver files. I recommend searching in forums you will find an answer in there.
