Thanks so much. I was 'gifted' a difficult hand appliqued quilt project by my 93 old Aunt June and the Sear and Roebucks pattern calls for a scalloped edge. I told her I was not going to do the fancy binding, but now I think I will This quilt has been unfinished for over 50 years and I just want to do it for her!

Long time quilter but I'd never made a scalloped quilt before. All the other videos showed a method that required me to buy a $25+ acrylic ruler, and I was thinking how our grandmothers didn't have that ruler and they somehow figured it out! Then I found this video. This absolutely worked and didn't cost me anything! I used an 11" round serving plate I had and cardstock paper. My quilt came out beautifully and the scallops are very even. Tip-I used painters tape (low-tack) to stick the templates to my quilt instead of pins, and also taped all the templates together, so after I marked one side I could just move that row of templates to another side, line it up, and mark it without having to lay them all out and measure again. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for this great video!!!

Greetings from Greendale, WI. This was awesome. I have been sewing since I was 5 years old, but never made a scalloped edge quilt. They are hard to find at the local stores or online for twin size beds for a reasonable price especially in colors that my 5 and 3 year olds would love. Crafts it is in that case. Learned some neat new tricks. Thanks!

This is a very unique way to make scallops. It’s a good way.
I never have made a scolloped quilt yet, but I have wanted to for quite some time. I even bought the special ruler from Quilt In A Day. Then one day (can’t even remember where) I stumbled on this eureka 💡 moment, where someone showed or explained how the early quilters did it. No special rulers, no special math. I was floored!
All they did was cut a piece of paper the length of the border. Folded it in half, then again and again, until it was about the size of the scollop they were looking for. While it was folded up, they cut a curved scallop on one edge. (You cd trace something, here.) then unfolded it and pinned & traced onto the border.
Instant, custom sized scollops for your border! Slap to the forehead moment! Why didn’t I think of that? So simple. So genius. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
