I have just started quilting and have been looking at tutorials on TH-cam, but since finding your site, I have found you to be the best teacher I've seen! I love your positive "you can do it" attitude, and your explanations and camera close-ups are SO helpful! Thank you so much for offering these tutorials free for us newbies!! Since finding you on the web, I have placed several orders from your site and LOVE the quality of the products and the FAST service! Thank you!
I just started following you, Jenny, in 2020. You are the best teacher! I want to put a scalloped edge on a baby quilt I'm making! And here you are! Perfect! This video is 11 years old and it's so much fun to see you way back when. I can see the resemblance between you and Natalie! Thank you!
I thought scalloped edges would be beyond my ability as a beginner. Your video explains it so well that I think I will try it on my next project. Scalloped edges are no longer scary! Thank you so much!
The scalloped edges gives such a nice finish for girly quilts--will be doing that for some of my charity quilts for our local children's hospital! Jenny, you are the BEST! Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge!!!!
Truly wonderful tutorial!!! I've never finished a quilt (quite a few WIP spanning 20 years, LOL) so this part was a mystery to me and I had no idea how it could be done. Just great! Thank you very much.
It's great to know that the special ruler comes with an instruction booklet. And this one seems to be very helpful for the technique. Jenny, you make it look so possible to do... and the result is so polished and fancy! Thanks for all of your tutorials!!
Jenny I have learned so much from watching your tutorials. Im a MSQC self taught quilter...lol. Ive only been sewing/quilting for 2 years but Ive learned so much and enjoy you guys so much. very easy to follow and am excited to try this technique! Thankyou so much!
I've owned this ruler for years, but been afraid to use it. You made it look so easy. You are such a good teacher. I'm going to use it on the top I'm finishing today. Thank you so much. I love your videos and have bought tools from your site when I need things to help say thanks in a tangible way.
I too go right to Jenny's tutorials when I need help with quilting. I'm pretty new to the quilt world and knowing Jenny's there when I need her, truly boosted my confidence!
Just want JENNY to know that I think she is wonderful. So friendly, speaks to clearly and she is FUNNY!!! Excellent tutorial and excellently transmitted by Jenny. A real treat, thank you!!!
I too LOVE your tutorials, your sense of humor and your teaching style! I got the featured template to make a scalloped edge on a baby quilt I recently finished and just about tore my hair out trying to get the MATH and the actual edge to match perfectly! I even cut the quilt down to make the math work; remeasured, deducted my 4 inches, used the booklet and STILL had to "adjust" my scallops. I finally made beautiful scallops! Now on to your continuous edge binding video to finish my quilt!
You're right, you did take the mystery out of it. Whahuuuuu! I Have wanted to do a scallop on some of my quilts so much and NOW I can. Thank you Angel Jenny!
Jenny you are a legend. I love your tutorials. Whenever I get stuck on or need to know something about a quilting project I know all I have to do is look it up on MSQC and you'll have it covered. Many, many thanks for sharing your wealth of information, I hope you never retire (very selfish of me, I know, but what would we do without you).
I have said it before, but it bears repeating...you are a fantastic teacher and it is so helpful to see you repeat a step several times. Thank you sooooooo much.
Thank you for such a clear video 'teaching' and showing us how to make a scalloped edge on a quilt. I always thought that this would be a much harder finish to a quilt. Now I know it's easy to do!
I just got this ruler. You are right it does have step by step instructions but I am very visual and your videos are great. I have gotten several tools from you and I love how you show us how to use them. Thank you.
I love Jenny's tuturials. When I'm searching for instructions, I jump straight on hers first if I find a relevant one. The French sounded convincing enough to me, I'm Aussie haha. Lucky I checked this out before cutting any binding - I probably would have cut on the grain out of habit! Thanks for your contribution, I'll be watching this again and again to complete the binding of the quilt I'm making for my first child due Feb 2011 :-D
I agree with the previous comment. Your tutorials have taught me SO much. I am also a newbie to quilting. THANK YOU!!!!!! The scalloped tutorial is so well done, your explanation on each step is very helpful and easy to follow. I love that I can learn and follow your tutorials and not have to say, "Wait, what did she just do? I don't understand." You truly make quilting fun and easy to learn!
I, too, look at your tutorials first when I need information on a quilting question. You are so informative and I love, love, love your sense of humor AND enjoyment of what you are doing! Keep it up!
Jenny, I'm recovering from foot surgery, and have to sit with my foot elevated. I found your tutorials yesterday and can't stop watching them! They are like potato chips, can't stop with just one. I feel like I've been at a workshop the last couple days. Thanks so much for all the info. I am from Ohio and would love to come to your shop someday.
That is soe awesome. Thank you for showing how to do an inside corner like that. I love the scallops and odd edges on some quilts but putting on binding easily for those is tricky. Thank you for showing how easy it can be.
Thank you thank you! I love scalloped edges and now I think I can actually do it after watching you! You took the mystery out for sure and now it looks doable! Love it :)
I love this tool - used it on a beautiful baby quilt. Per Eleanor Burns' suggestions, I didn't cut the scallop away until after I had stitched on the binding - just lined it up with the marks. Worked beautifully!
I am so glad that I watched this video before starting my scalloped border and binding! So many good tips. I'm off to buy the right tool and now that I know, wait until the quilting is done before I trim the border! Thanks

Yes - this! So many other tutorials I can't really see what the person is actually doing. Jenny's explanations are great but the close-ups on the detail work really help a lot.
Jenny, This tutorial is wonderful. I was able to mark and cut the scallops without any problems. I used the continuous binding method and was able to attach the binding but had a difficult time finishing the ends. Is there a special trick, something different from finishing regular binding? It is probably just me. I will have to make another quilt and attempt the scallop edge again. Thank you for your teaching. I am addicted to your tutorials.
Very helpful. I feel apprehensive about altering a vintage piece but In it’s current condition it’s unusable. I’ve also always hand stitched previous quilts so this will be so quick I’m giddy!
