So cool man. You made some amazing upgrades. One of my favorite gaming memories as a kid was going to the movie theater and hearing Ultimate MK3 simply blasting in the lobby, surrounded by a bunch of people playing it. The arcade days were great.
People don’t realize that you really should be running these games with a 4:3 old school monitor. I’ve seen people doing retro gaming on 50” HD tvs - it looks like hot garbage.
The pin hole on the corners is a good idea. What you could have done with the vinyl is to position it to line up the inside corners. Do not trim any of the vinyl. Adhere the top portion of the vinyl ( remove portion of wax paper, use tape to hold the bottom part of vinyl. Check for position. Then take a exacto knife cut a X pattern from pinhole to pinhole wrap the viynl around the opening cut off excess then removed the rest of the wax sheet from the vinyl and adhere the entire decal. Then trim out the vinyl on the outside.
Great video..but..The graphic would have been easier to apply if you peeled the backing off without cutting first and laid it sticky side up and placed the bezel down on it. (tack holes would have been told guide for placement) Then you could have used a razor blade to trim around using the frame as the guide with no slip ups..if this made sense
Great job man and looks fantastic! But that is the main reason I paid the extra $14.99 so I wouldn't have to cut the bezel sticker for my TMNT Arcade1up custom build. lol I am not the best at cutting either and will gladly pay somebody else to do it.
Wow that's awesome as mate! You could sell that for around 2.5k in Australia I reckon, just the standard mk2 1up cabinet is over $800 here and they are rare and hard to get... Looks amazing!
hi, how can you power the cabinet without pushing the power button to the side? I want to have mine to turn on if I plug in the wall socket. Did you brigde the power button?
Thanks for the video….I’ve been searching for help…having trouble with the exact same monitor and set up…did exactly how you have with dvi to hdmi and audio extractor but the monitor says “out of range. Change monitor display to 1600 x 1200” even though I believe it is and mirrored to a pc and made sure in settings…..
I am finally getting around to doing this for my Ridge Racer and OutRun modded machines after just scoring 2 of these monitors for a total of $40. (IKR?!) After watching your video......wondering why you didnt decase the monitor before installing it? Wouldnt it be better to leave those controls from the front panel, accessable just in case any future adjustments are needed?
I just got that same Dell 20 inch monitor, so all I have to do is get a HDMI to VGA and plug in directly to the Raspberry pie and it should work without any resolution change settings?
Ive got a 2007fpb. And ive got a retropie 3 all hooked up with the two extra boards. To use the monitor can i just get a vga to hdmi? At the moment i have hdmi from pi to board to display.
Got the same cab as you. All the custom stuff you put on yours, did you order custom made from different sources or is there a “official “ store to buy all this custom parts from?

I thought this monitor was too small to an Arcade cabinet but actually it looks good.

Some emulators have the option to add scanlines.

It is the Fpb.
The Wfpb is for "Wide"... that's mean it's the 16:9 one.
