    Put a 19” recessed BOE in mine. If you are recessing it you really need a 19” screen. Makes a huge difference.

    I wanted to thank you for this video. I only did the T2 light and the hidden cables hack but seeing this prior to my cabinet arriving I knew I had to while I was building the cabinet, instead of having to do it after. Thanks again!

      Well, thank you! Glad you liked it. For the original MSRP of $699, you'd think a lot of these mods would be stock, but at $299 it was a whole lot more palatable.

    You can use red tape for the side panels and black tape between the marquee which is what the original arcade had.

    • @evilgeniusentertainment
      @evilgeniusentertainment  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching Sean, good idea! I saw one mod where a guy put the red tape on the side, aligned with the existing tape - but I've never seen that particular mod. I don't mind the red tape up front, but I might add it to the sides. I'm hoping to find a real T2 out in the wild so I can get some more ideas...

    Hey EVE thanks for the inspiration. Just finished my mods and I referenced your video the most. It was extremely helpful. But I did take the recessed screen mod one step forward, as I also added a bottom shelf and applied actual glass mirrors on that shelf for a very cool finish! Thanks again. This was a fun project. But like you warned, the screen mod is a real pain in the butt all by itself. Lots of adjustments to get it right, while not damaging the unit itself. Looking forward to more of your content, well done!

      Thanks for the kind words! Yup, it's a tough mode for sure, but one that's worth it in the end. It's a show-piece type of cab and the recessed monitor hack makes it even more so....

    Thanks, great video!! I wasn't going to get the T2 cabinet due to only one game, but couldn't resist it when I saw the $315 price tag at Best Buy recently .... Mods I did: I did the topper as you have, hidden cords (used bag of rice trick to pull cord back) and the kickplate front graphic which looks stunning!!

      It's a great looking cab; one of the best A1up's done yet. Def worth it to me both as a showpiece, and b/c I do love the game.

    Mr. Evil Genius sir, I have really enjoyed your content lately.
    I discovered your channel thanks to this video, I just got a T2 Cab yesterday and thanks to this video I already had that T-800 Kickplate graphic ready to apply.
    I'm gonna do the cord hide mod too but I think I'm gonna drill a 5/8 hole instead of cutting and add weights to the cords for easier retraction.
    Thanks so much, you gotta new Sub.

    With the audio mod are u getting stero sound or is only one of the stock speakers working been doing some research and half of the people that use this say they only get mono sound should i use a 3 orc4 pole extension cable aslo ?

    • @evilgeniusentertainment

      I'm still rocking the exact set-up that I show in the build. I don't know if it's true stereo (heck, I don't if the game itself is true stereo). But It sounds good to me! The thumper adds a lot and I can use the speakers that came wit hit on another build. I'm glad I put it in.

    I just did the recessed monitor mod now my Sinden light guns are no longer tracking properly. The reticules lag and freeze no matter what distance I stand. I swapped both guns and both have issues. I have tried recalibrating both and still have issues. I am thinking of contacting Arcade1up to open a ticket. I really hope recessing the screen was not the issue.

      Sorry to hear that John. Don't see how it possibly could be - sounds like a software problem - did you upgrade the firmware? I haven't b/c I heard there were some issues for some people who did....

    MJes a loud high buzz and seems to overload. I noticed the arcade 1up stock cable is a 4 pin and the extender is a 3 pin. Any ideas on an adapter?

    How does the Logitech solution compare to a bass shaker like you used on your Outrun cabinet? Logitech looks much cleaner than adding an amp, etc

    • @evilgeniusentertainment
      @evilgeniusentertainment  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The biggest difference is that it's plug and play + comes with speakers (which I didn't use in the build). And the Logitech has that volume control switch. But seeing as you can still use the T2 volume control on the control deck, this advantage is negligible. The main difference I'd say is that the Logitech add bass freqs, while the puck adds bass + shake. I think I still lean towards the shaker, particularly as the Logitech is now closer to $60.

    • @darthdorkimusprime7231
      @darthdorkimusprime7231 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@evilgeniusentertainment Thanks for the response! I think I'm gonna try the Logitech seeing as how I have added amps in the past to my cabs and I'm getting tired of replacing speakers and re-wiring. I prefer spending that energy on upgrading controls, etc.

    • @evilgeniusentertainment
      @evilgeniusentertainment  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, you got it! One thing about the Logitech setup is that you can easily use it for a PC or small home entertainment system if you sell the T2 down the line.

    People should wait 3 months before doing any mods. A1Up gives a 3 month warranty, and if you need to replace any bad parts A1Up will void the warranty if anything is modded.

    • @evilgeniusentertainment
      @evilgeniusentertainment  ปีที่แล้ว

      If I had paid full price, I'd probably be a bit more hesitant... but as I didn't, it was miter saw away!

    • @Excaidus-Metal
      @Excaidus-Metal ปีที่แล้ว

      @evilgeniusentertainment Don't get me wrong, I like the video. All great ideas. If a gun goes bad or something and someone puts in a request for a warranty replacement, A1up will ask for photos of the cab and if they see any reason to void the warranty they will. Always safe to wait the 3 months first in my opinion, then do the mods.

      This, if you already have power tools and enough dexterity build it form scratch.

    • @alexxbaudwhyn7572
      @alexxbaudwhyn7572 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Agreed.
      I see too many 1up fanbois "overmod" their cabs, ie end up spending more on the stock cab plus mod parts and time, exceeding the cost in total of a better quality custom build, either diy or kits from the Gameroomsolutions, tulsaarcades, diyarcades, buystuffarcades of the world, plus artwork shops all over eBay, etsy, etc.
      That said, assuming you can get a 1up cab on clearance, closeout,refurb, open box, used, etc, for a few hundred or less as a mod start point (ie pay no more than cost and time of parts and artwork, hopefully a deal and pay less), and then buy or diy mods from there, 1ups can do the job.
      I credit 1up for creating a new market for scale, licensed, decorated cabs in a size, weight, and tech complexity that are manageable by regular working people with regular living space and time to devote to this hobby.
      Most of us don't want to build out a wood work shop and or don't have time or skill to get fit and finish to a pro level.
      1up has standardized a form factor, common interchangeable parts, and created a huge aftermarket of used parts and mom and pop shops offering custom and replacement parts. A win for the home arcade hobby.
      Just be careful what you're spending and do the accounting.
