I recently picked one up. 20" fpb. Received the lg ips. Paired it up with my Sega Saturn console hooked up simply with s-video cable and wow!. I'm playing Layer Section in vertical mode and I cant believe the results of how good it looks and plays. I can't sense any lag at all. No ghosting or blur and this game will indeed test that. I'm very impressed. Only downside is my monitor has a bit of ips glow in the bottom left corner. Not horrible but there. Can't see it unless the screen is pure black and active. Other wise it's in great shape with no dead pixels. No physical scratches or bruising. Seller had it listed grade A. It is but still has the bit of glow / bleed. I totally understand why you have 4 Lol. I will probably seek out another in the near future myself. They are impressive imo. Cool vid
Thank you! This is the best video about these monitors. I was looking for 2 side vertical monitors for my setup and these monitors are good candidates. I've found 3 of these for 90 dollars. Looks like I am buying all of them :)
The darker screen might have a worn out bulb or more likely the anti-glare hard coating is too strong. You can check the service menu and try some settings and see if it improves. I have this monitor for years and years, I keep it around because it has excellent low input lag.
I've got a REV 05 manufactured August 2007 with an IPS panel. It doesn't like 50Hz PAL signals, both at Y input as S-VHS input it just displays a garbled image. Anyone knows if later revisions are more forgiving in displaying a 50Hz PAL signal?
"If you can find them for $50 or less," is the trick. I have yet to see one that's Grade B or better for less than like $130, and the ones claiming to be "like new" are sometimes pushing $300. No way I'm paying near the original retail price for something that could have dead pixels, let alone one that's dark like the 3rd one in your lineup. And in every case, the back light is degraded on a used display, so paying full retail for a display closer to EOL is nuts. Supply and demand be damned. Makes me just wish someone out there would cater to the retro gaming community by making and selling a display for just that.
there's a kickstarter for this little fake CRT thing that has a square LCD (I think it's 4:3 can't remember) and you can put a mister in it and all these weird modules. i can see if i can find it if you're interested. it's pricey but that's the nature of low-volume.
I just bought 2 of this bnib. But it's without the B version. Retail I believe. The ending of the serial is L, and the manufacturing date is August 2012. Is it also using an LG panel?
Hi I just bought one of these 2007fpb monitors from someone on Ebay it's supposed to have a Ips screen and when I go into the menu options and select screen or panel specs at the bottom it say FP not FPB so do I have a FPB IPS monitor? I can't find anyone on TH-cam or on Google that has a answer to this question.
I think they all say FP in the menu, even the FPB. The B is for Business, and I think that has to do with whether it was bought from Dell directly or via a Vendor or retailer like Best Buy. But that has no bearing on whether it’s IPS or not. That completely depends on the manufacturer of the panel. If your serial ends with an S, it’s made by Samsung and is VA. If the serial ends with an L, it was made by LG and is an IPS panel.
Looks great, man. I'm currently looking for a good 4:3 monitor and it's harder than expected.
I recommend EIZO monitor to you.
EIZO FlexScan S2133 21.3inc 1600×1200 (4:3 )UXGA
Thank you for doing this for retro gaming science 😃 🥂
Thanks for watching!

Awesome Screens. Was able to get 2 brand new ones.
Can you say me wich of the two monitors that you bought have the dark ips panel?
2008 year monitor or 2010 year monitor?

How long is the 3.5mm cable of the soundbar?

Anything that ends in L is LG and should be IPS. 2012 is the latest manufacturing date I’ve seen so far.
@@RobNava Thanks for the reply. It's currently in transit, hope it arrives safe. Looking forward to it. Cheers.
How does it compare with the 1908 in your previous video? do you prefer the 1908 or 2007fpb?
I found a 2007FPb for 20$. Im going to buy today.
this is one of the best monitors dell has ever made imo
tell me what is the difference between Dell 2007FP and 2007FPB models
So the VA Panel is still okay?
Is it possible to connect a retro console like SNES or Gamecube to the Dell speakers?
Yes. You’ll need an RCA to 3.5mm audio converter. Try amazon: Hosa YRA-154 3.5 mm TRS to Dual RCAF Stereo Breakout Cable a.co/d/9lgteYR
@@RobNava Thanks
alguien tendra el diagrama electrico de dell 2007fpb 4h. L2H08 A02 schematic 12 ene 2023 gracias de antemano
I found a Rev A04 from March 2007 and i think it's a VA panel, for $10

@@RobNava I'll have to check that serial number next time I get home.
Thanks for that info 👍
Any recommending settings?
Rob Nava did the impossible in his parappa the rapper video
I'm getting 3. 1 brand new, and 2 used ☺
What's the revision of your VA panel?

@@RobNava Thank you.
