My 97 is showing similar symptoms, including burping fuel into the air filter. I have a toolbox installed over the distributor hatch, once that's pulled I can check the distributor and that connector that was corroded on yours. Fingers crossed that gets me running, but I still need to learn to check timing
Hey, so when you say you had the distributor on 180 degrees off, was that the rotor on the shaft? Because it looks like you still had the cap on the same way as throughout the rest of the video.
It was a while ago.. however if I recall correctly the rotor shaft is keyed in a manner that it can be installed 180 out on the cam shaft. So I had the entire rotor and shaft installed 180 out.
Glad you got it fixed. Nice video.
Thanks 👍
When the coil lock broke - "well, shit" - I think that's my new MInicab motto...

8:41 always some shii happens to me all the time 🤣
Where is the OBD2 from 1997 Mini Cab U41T?
So in the end the corrosion in the coil connector turned out to be the root cause of the no start symptoms?
Yup, it's amazing how a bit of corrosion on a tiny plug can cause so many issues.
