    • @projectaddiction

      In most scenarios you can just get away with a quick measurement. However that would be a very good way to have a fixed known dimension to scale off of, especially if the part is very obscure and hard to measure two accurate points.

    Just trying to be helpful here for other Gen 4 Pajero and D5 owners in Canada. I was able to import a bare roof Yakima HD roof rack system from Australia in late 2024, arrived in 3 weeks for ~$800 CAD including import duties. Not trying to take away from Cams great work here - just posting if any other fellow Canucks are searching high and low for a rack for their JDM like I was. ☮️ I found mine at a company called Sunshade Products Roof Rack World. 🍻

    Good review and tips as I have been looking at one of these for the same sort of things as you. Could you suck from the side port but remove the fine internal filter and if necessary add a coarse filter similar to that of the rear?

    • @projectaddiction
      @projectaddiction 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @leepatterson4009 anything is possible, but the rear already has a steel damper which prevents blasting sand directly into the port. It also has the lugs in place for quick release. The side would need to be bolted on.

  • @KeithCottrell_Arketh
    @KeithCottrell_Arketh 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

    The conical filter inside the box is the designed outlet. Adding suction there would reduce the amount of dust that was coming out of the air inlet. Down side is that the in cabinet filter is going to plug fast, but with the amount of fine particulate, that's always going to be an issue somewhere in the chain.

    • @projectaddiction
      @projectaddiction 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @KeithCottrell_Arketh yes, i have seen a number of setups that draw out the filter. I had considered it, but using the rear port seemed to have more benefits in my mind. By drawing out the rear opening, it ensures any air coming in filtered, so there is no risk of larger debris being sucked in that could clog up the sand pickup. It also has no filter to clog, so all of the fine particals and worn sand are drawn out almost instantly into the cyclone. With nothing impeding air flow, the air has a higher velocity as well, so more particulate is captured before they can enter the vacuum. The whole cab now operates in a negative pressure, even when blasting full bore. So, for the most part, the escaping dust issue is no more.

    Noticed that when you pulled the inner CV joint out the shaft stayed in the Trans. When I pulled mine out the shaft stayed in the CV Joint. My big issue now is I cannot get the upper CV Joint to back into the Trans housing .The little ring on the end seems to be stopping it to slide in all the way. I have tried every trick after watching 15 Videos on you tube but nothing works. Any Ideas

    • @projectaddiction
      @projectaddiction หลายเดือนก่อน

      @jeffmcauley3287 sometimes you can use a zip tie to keep the ring compressed. Once it slides past the splines, cut the zip tie off. You can also pull the ring off, reshape it so it's tighter on the CV and reinstall it. They can be a bit of a pain sometimes, but you'll get it eventually.

    Hi, Is there any way of telling what model head and or block (flush valve vs protruding) without pulling the head off? I wanna do a direct head swap to save some time. Previous owner had the timing belt snap and there was valve to piston contact(broken rocker arms). I believe multiple valves to be bent,and possible valve seat and guide damage. I think is is more cost effective for me to purchase a new head, opposed to rebuilding it ,and want to do the replacement in one go, so I would like to order the correct parts ahead of time. Anyway of decoding casting marks that you are familiar with?Awesome videos BTW!!!!!

    • @projectaddiction
      @projectaddiction 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @S-MCGARAGE2024 just look for a water line to the turbo. If the turbo is water cooled, it's a flush valve. If it's oil cooled only, it's a protruding valve.

      Few trips back we had a chunk of rebar go through the radiator 4-5 hour from cell service in the middle of Grand Staircase... managed to fix it with some pliers a few pieces of wood... at least well enough to get to town and "weld it properly". Breaking down has just become an expected part of out trips. Our last big trip had 18 break downs of various severity... including the whole turbo charger falling off running from a flash flood...
